Stop by Dunn Bros this morning and had a lovely interaction with the barista there. I didn't catch her name but she was able to walk me through the menu as this was one of the few times I've been to Dunn Bros. She was so helpful at making recommendations and helping me create my own sandwich (which was a great croissant with egg and cheese). She overall made it a really great experience and makes me want to come back even more. I can speak more to the experience I had with her than to the food and coffee, but I did enjoy the banana caramel nirvana cold brew that she recommended. I hope to go back and catch her name and if so will update this! read more

I stopped at Dunn Bros and tried the iced caramel banana latte and it was really good! The flavors were unique and balanced perfectly--definitely a drink I'd get again. They had several food and bakery options, as well as an extensive drink menu, which I really liked. Also, the service was super friendly, which made the visit even better. The inside has more of a darker, cozy, cabin-like feel rather than a modern vibe. It wasn't exactly my favorite atmosphere, but there were plenty of seating options to choose from, which was nice. Since I've been re-obsessed with dunn bros, I've been checking out the different locations around. What I drank: Caramel frappe I tried this yesterday at the Minnetonka location and it was SO sweet, so I got it with half the amount of syrup (2 pumps instead of 4 for a medium) and of course with oatmilk. Even with 2 pumps it was still really sweet, so I will be trying it with one next time, but it's still so so good if you're into frappes. It's been a minuteeeee since I got a frappe and my love for them, just like for dun bros, is back. Service, etc.: This Hopkins location is fairly a big spot, lots of seating options (booths, hightops, lowtops, and comfy chairs - plus outside patio). It's not as dark as I thought it was going to be from the outside pov. The girl who took my order was super nice. The atmostphere was good today! Only put 4 stars, because it isn't my favorite location, but still deserves all the recognition! read more

Dunn's in Hopkins is becoming my favorite local coffee stop. Staff, quality and value are top reasons. Most times when I visit the owner is present and the staff consistent. I can't think of another coffee shop where the staff is so friendly & attentive. The owner and manager are always on hand to train the newbies through our complicated orders. There's also a group of regulars who are quick to greet a stranger and include you in the talk of the town if you are feeling chatty. Coffee is always fresh and roasted on site. We tried the limited batch Kona during the holidays and it was worth the splurge. When we buy Dunn's whole bean for home, we can always taste a better flavor. Now for my insider tip: Try the avocado toast with tomato and a couple over easy eggs. $6.50-$7.00 plus a $1-2 for the two eggs. There's a bacon version too. The bread is simple bread which is just fine as I hate when bread is 80% of the meal. The avocado toast leads me to my next point. Dunn's quality items at reasonable prices ranks high on my value scale. I never feel fleeced Coming out of Dunn's. My other go to coffee shop stop serves a more gourmet avocado toast that costs close to $18-$19. It's mostly more bread. I failed to mention this Dunn's features local artists. Sometimes I am lucky enough to meet the artists when I visit on the weekends. I appreciate businesses who support others. Give it a try. Yes it's located in a strip mall on the west side of Shady Oak Road just north of Excelsior Blvd. Once you're inside, I think you'll agree this place is comfortable, warm, and relaxing. read more

This coffee shop offers reasonable prices and the aroma of freshly ground coffee is delightful. I particularly enjoyed my avocado toast with bacon and the nitro black coffee, which had a robust flavor. The toast was perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of salt. The staff here are friendly and efficient. In terms of space, it's decently sized, not too small nor too big, but it can get a bit crowded. It would be nice to have more space between tables. On the bright side, there is quite a lot of parking available. read more

Dunn Bros Hopkins is a cool hang. There is plenty of seating and it's a nice spot to just play cards or cribbage. They also have a parking lot dedicated to the strip mall it's located in. I got the sausage cheddar biscuit and caramelized almond latte. The biscuit is mostly egg and bread with a thin sausage patty, but the biscuit is soooo buttery and flaky. My fave drink here is the caramelized almond latte. The balance of almond and caramel is delicioso! I frequent the Starbucks and Caribou in town, but this Dunn Bros has a homey feel to it that is unique, and the staff are awesome as well. read more

You have lost a customer today. I had family in town, wanted to stop for a post church coffee. We were the only people in the shop and the two women barista's were behind the counter and I assume who is the manager or owner was grinding beans. He moved to behind the counter, unsure if the employee taking our order was new or not but it was very uncomfortable the amount of pressure there was waiting for us to get our coffee order in. When I went to pull up the coffee bogo ad I received in Instagram. I was informed of was only good one per customer. Makes sense. There was more than one of us and we asked to split it into two orders. We were told that was not acceptable, as the manager walked away he mumbled something under his breath references our group and sat down back by the beans. Unsure what we ever did to you. I have been here before and you as a manager have ignored people with me and their orders and jumped to fulfill orders of men further down the line. The guest with me were new patrons today and will not be coming back. Service industry is tough, intention to offend as a patron is never my intent. The baristas are fantastic. Today you made us feel uncomfortable, unwelcome and unwanted. I will never be back. I refused to be treated that way by a man. If this is a misunderstanding I am happy to speak in person and learn. The fabric chairs were filthy. Arms of the chairs and seats were dark with age as never cleaned and much needed to be replaced. Sitting in these chairs was a health hazard! It was disgustingly dirty. read more

The barista made me this drink and said it was a caramel macchiato. When i asked if it was a latte, she told me it was a macchiato (it clearly is a latte). I said whatever in my head and just took the drink. I was disappointed because its not often I treat myself to a coffee anymore being that we are being cautious with our spending. I posted a previous yelp review, and the owner saw and asked if he could remake my drink. I appreciate his efforts to make things right with his customers. However, for me, this will be my last time coming here as I feel I wasn't initially valued as a customer and there are other places locally I'd rather support that I feel more valued & welcome. read more

I had a similar experience to the woman who got stared at. The same man looked up at me when I walked in and I was putting my mask on as I came in. I didn't think anything of it. Next thing I know I'm at the counter trying to order, and because of the fog hitting my glasses I couldn't see (it was winter). I'm trying to see the placard that lists the coffees of the day without my glasses on and can't, so I put them back on and I pulled my mask down a bit to alleviate the fog effect. Next thing I know he's standing in the other side of the counter with his arms crossed and says, "you have to put your mask over your nose." No sympathy for the fact that I'm trying to purchase something from his store and I can't see to do it. I found him incredibly rude. I was so baffled as to why he ended up behind the counter in the first place. He was by the roaster when I walked in. So that made me think he came over specifically to watch me. So weird. On another occasion I had been in there and there was a mom and her child ordering and no one else in line or waiting for coffee. I stepped onto one of the numbered stickers on the floor and -- again mind you... NO ONE ELSE is in the store -- and the lady behind the counter (I think she's that man's wife) tells me I have to move to one of the Dunn Bros logo'd stickers. I'm like okayyy... to distance myself from absolutely no one. ‍ I honest don't ever want to go there anymore but my son likes their croissants now and then so once in a while I go for those. read more

I've been going to Dunn Bros Coffee for a long time now and I love everything about them! I am a "regular" customer. I come in everyday and have been for years. I love the staff- Chris, Kennerly, Page, Harriet and the owner, Dan. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful when ordering food or coffee. The coffee shop is always clean and tables wiped down. I am always made to feel welcome when I walk in the door. Their coffee is so good and the flatbread pizzas are my favorite. Highly recommended! read more

Cozy spot with a great tuna melt sandwich--custom made. I'm sure they have other food items but the tuna melt is so good I've never been tempted, but I should probably correct that. The best hot chocolate in the world. No seriously - the world. Yeah, everyone else might be here for the coffee or to flirt with Erica, but I'm straight up all about that perfect mix of milk, hot water and chocolate then topped off with whip cream and a line of hot fudge. Might throw a donut in there if I'm feeling like a depressed fat f*ck that day. Pros: The extra spunk and cheer of Erica can cure anyones early morning coffee hangover. I came in on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Three hours before close. There are about 15 tables throughout the shop, and only three of them were occupied. Due to Covid, we have to go to the counter to reserve a table. I wasn't ready to order anything yet, so I just asked if I could have a table to start, knowing I would come back to order something in a little bit. I grab a table, noticing that the man roasting coffee beans is eyeing me. Shortly after, he comes up to me and aggressively says that I need to purchase something to work in here. He didn't say it in a nice way. It caught me off guard and really upset me. I was tempted to just gather my stuff and leave, but instead, I went up to buy a bottle of water. He ruined my experience and was completely unprofessional. I've worked at a coffee shop for over six years, and that is NOT how you do and ask for business. I was excited to order a coffee drink, maybe a pistachio muffin, but because of him approaching me like that and being so rude and aggressive, telling me that I NEEDED to purchase something to be able to sit and work in here.. I purchased the cheapest thing on the menu. A bottle of water. I understand this rule, but there were over 13 open tables. It was a late Sunday afternoon. A few hours before close. Absolutely dead. To be honest. I'm just happy that there is a Dunn Bros close to my home. I prefer going to Dunn over Caribou. Dunn Bros. coffee tastes richer to me than Caribou or Starbucks. As one reviewer stated, this place is clean! Lots of seating and spacious. I noticed that some of the seats against the wall had electrical plugs above the tables. Nice touch for laptop users. This will be my go to place when I need to get some work done on my laptop. And when I say work, I mean sharing memes on my Facebook page and Yelping. They sell different types of coffee blends if you want to take a bag home. They even sell a very expensive blend of Kona coffee. The staff was friendly enough to me. If I had the same treatment as Jon S., I would probably give a more negative review. If the coupon is out there, then I would use it multiple times. No need to make snide remarks when Jon S. is playing the "game" well. I'm sure if he ran out of coupons, then he'd go back if the customer service was friendly and polite. The first thing I noticed was wow, such a clean coffee shop! Their Wi-Fi is fast. The wall art is always changing, check it out! Friendly staff. And then there's the fresh QUALITY roasted coffee. We entered the store around 4ish. I said hello how are you to the women working. She was elderly, wearing glasses, and had gray hair. She didn't look at us nicely, she seemed a bit annoyed that we were there. We are two Muslims POC. We ordered 3 Red Bull infusions (2 wild peach, 1 wild berry). She was upset that we order that. She demanded we slow down, I said it was fine. She expressed that it was because she needed to individually put in the drinks and people rarely get those drinks so, she needs to find them on the machine. I said it's fine, we understand and began slowly telling her the first drink. She continues to mutter at the machine calling it stupid. She sighed loudly and made scoffing sounds under her breath. At that point, I was so upset with how burdened she made us feel. I'm someone that deals with anxiety and she didn't make my experience at this Dunn brothers okay. I looked at my brother who was uncomfortable with the barista's attitude and decided we would go. I looked back at her and said "it's fine, we'll just go" and she rolled her eyes and said ok, relieved that we were leaving the store. I believe she didn't even want us in there in the first place. I love Dunn Brothers, we go there all time. There are two young baristas that are soo sweet and make us feel welcome, the barista we experienced today was so awful. We had her before, Back then I asked for light ice on my beverage she shook her head in annoyance, I didn't mind back then because everyone has those days. I rather give essential workers grace, but today made me so upset. My anxiety hasn't dropped since 4pm. Dunn Brothers is this someone you want representing you establishment? My family has gone to Dunn brothers coffee houses for 15+ years, I can't believe this happened. Is it because we're black? Is it because we were Muslim? We weren't rude, so she can't say that, we always tip. She didn't want us in there. Since when does ordering something off the menu make us bad people? This is my new local coffee shop that I like to pop into to pick up a latte to-go or to order something delicious (Pumpkin Spice Latte) and settle into one of the comfy chairs with a book. The staff is friendly and I like the rotating art displays from local artists, too. read more

This Dunn Bros was formally located at Minnetonka Mills. Perfectly roasted beans makes good coffee and they have it. I cannot review food because I dont eat at coffee shops. Overall nice staff! Now for the cons, They close at 8 Mon thru Sat and even earlier on Sun. Also they charge for refills on drip coffee, some shops do this and some dont, well they do. Been my favorite coffee shop for at least 20 years. I've been fortunate enough to live or work near one most of my life. I've visited most of the shops around town and have never been disappointed in a drink, beans or service. They are the best run franchised brand I've ever encountered. I stopped into this new location. There is two Caribou Coffee's and one Starbucks within a mile or two, but none can compare to the service and quality I received today! I came in for an iced coffee and stayed for a cup of soup and sandwich, and everyone and everything was fantastic! Horrible customer service from shop owner's daughter this morning. We have been loyal customers and received the 2-for-1 Valentines Day beverage offer from corporate via email. My husband gave her a $2.50 tip and the realized he forgot to show her the coupon and asked if she could credit us one beverage. She said "that's a deal from corporate so there's nothing I can do...you will have to buy two more beverages to get one free..." She turned her back on him as well. We will not be back even though this Dunn is closest to home, we will drive to other franchises for our coffee. This has not been the first time we have had questionable customer service from this location. read more
