Wow this place is so good! Even the complimentary bread they give is great. I like how you also get vinegar and pepper flakes to go along with the olive oil. I really enjoyed the steak tartare and how it came with crispy potatoes on top making it unique. The star of the show was the paella! I love how there were so many different meats and the rice was my favorite. I do wish that it came with a little more rice. For dessert, we got the recommendation which was the Venetian Surprise. The crunchy outside paired really well with the raspberry sorbet inside. Our server was very kind and attentive. There is plenty of seating inside and the bathrooms are nice!

tl;dr - Really good service, but the wait time for food was long. We arrived around 6 PM and left 2.5 hours later. The ambiance was nice, and my friend and I enjoyed our time yapping and eating. ESCARGOTS "CROQUE MONSIEUR" - 22 The escargot was incredibly garlicky and filled with fresh parsley, and it was tender and sweet. Our server gave us complimentary bread service to enjoy the leftover butter which was delicious. ONION SOUP GRATINÉE - 18 The best French onion soup I've ever had. There was a thick layer of melted gruyére cheese that draped over a bowl of miso-based vegetable broth mixed with a generous amount of soft, caramelized onion. The soup was rich and flavorful, and I even peeled most of the cheese off the bowl because it was that good. My friend and I both enjoyed this greatly. STEAK TARTARE - 26 Our server really hyped up the steak tartare saying it was one of the best he's eaten, but we thought it was overly salty. My friend thought it was a bit sour. We also didn't love how heavy it was since it was topped with cubed fries. LA PAELLA DE CASSOULET - 58 By the time we got to the paella, we were already really full. The portion size looked really big since it was wide, but it was actually less than half an inch deep. The rice was delicious, filled with flavors of duck fat, seasoning, sausage, and pork belly. However, it was a bit too rich and thick after a few bites, and we got tired. A bit too heavy overall, but we would definitely recommend the escargot and French onion soup. Maybe we'll get the cured hamachi crudo next time since it's a much lighter option.

As they say in French "Magnifique!!!!" For my birthday celebration, my boyfriend surprised me with a lovely dinner at Barbouzard. This gem is a triple threat for quality wait staff, unique drinks, and exotic food/desserts. I would even go the extra mile and say that their decor is top as it offers a sexy ambiance with its beautiful modern French/Mediterranean decor-STUNNING! To the wait staff, thank you so much for making my birthday magical. Our waiter, Mario, was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable with parings, and recommending the best of the best! But what left us more shocked is that he was excellent at analyzing our taste to anticipate our selections and boy was he on point for each guess lol it made dining exciting. To start, we ordered a shot of Ocho tequila reposado which can only be described as smooth and easy to enjoy! Next, my boyfriend ordered the smoked old fashioned and I ordered the Nina Rose, both of which were phenomenal in taste. We ordered 2 starters: Mini Tartelettes, Crab & Caviar- this appetizer was spectacular! The caviar added a perfect balance of savoriness to the crab and the flaky pastry folded the dish together for an immediate trip down flavor town. From there we ordered the Escargots And Garlic Butter and that in itself was scrumptious! The garlic butter gave the escargot big personality and we probably could have ended the night there but we kept going lol For entrees we ordered: Lobster à l'Américaine- a moment of silence as we acknowledge the beauty behind this dish. Not only was it savory but I appreciated how well each ingredient supported each other, with no one flavor overpowering the next. There was a generous serving of lobster added and the dish was large enough to take leftovers. I absolutely loved this pasta! My boyfriend ordered the Loup de Mer au Fenouil and he loved how flaky and delightful the fish was from start to finish. He also raved about how perfectly seasoned it was and that he thoroughly enjoyed the meal. He did order a side of spinach which was lightly sautéed and buttery. To end the evening, I received a complimentary birthday chocolate presented by Mario and another staff member-how beautiful was that?! The chocolate of course was to die for. We also decided to order their Piémontaise Hazelnut Souflé and honey, let's just say that hazelnut never shined so bright. Supported by a delightful Tahitian vanilla créme anglaise, this dessert was delectable and comforting. We're already planning to support their brunch soon and return for dinner. This place was worth it!!!!! 10/10

The good: turns into a night club vibe at 2pm for those that like that kind of thing. It was definitely giving French riveria vibes with the live music, dancers and spinning napkins everywhere. The bad: the FOOD! Tried about 3-4 dishes as I was with a party of 12. Hated everything. Could barely swallow the burger it was so bad! How do you mess up a burger??! Will definitely return if I eat a proper meal somewhere else first and then come just for the entertainment! Entertainment was 10/10!

Great spot! They have a huge variety of delicious wines and French food. Came in for dinner and got some appetizers and small plates. Highlights were the escargot and the fried bread appetizer, along with the steak tartare. I hear it's really a good brunch spot so would love to check it out. The service was very accommodating and they paid a lot of attention to our table, even when they were busy. The bartenders are also very knowledgeable and were helpful picking drinks and making us something special.

Food was savory and delicious Rigatoni; Caesar salad ; cauliflower all stars romantic and cozy restaurant for dinner downtown. High decibel level. Gloria our server did her best, under the circumstances.

From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was absolutely exceptional! Every dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavor and made with incredible attention to detail. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste, beautifully plated and thoughtfully crafted, making the entire experience feel elevated and special. The staff ensured our experience was seamless from start to finish. Barbouzard is a true gem that delivers excellence in flavor, aesthetics, and hospitality. Highly recommend for any event or occasion! Can't wait to go back!

oh my GOD what an absolute treat. I went to Barbouzard for brunch this past Sunday for my birthday, and wow oh WOW it couldn't have been any better. The ambiance, with its creams and sharp lines, is the perfect balance of elegant and inviting, and the wait staff is extremely kind and helpful. The food is DELICIOUS: I got the steak and fries, which were cooked to perfection, super fresh oysters, and my relatives got the leek omelette (best I've ever tasted) and the tasty escargot. The live singer was amazing, and the brunch party with a live sax player and drummer topped it all off! I cannot wait to be back!

So first off the food is great, and my rating is taking off for the ambiance of the restaurant. I wish I had known this is mostly a nightclub feel not a fine dining experience. Loved everything we had. Scallops were top notch though the sauce I think would do better with different flavors. I think the biggest thing people should know coming here is this is an absolute night club / housewives of fill in the blank city vibe. Not at all what I am looking for. Me and my partner both agreed that while the food was very good we will never be back. BUT if you're looking to party to loud music and people dressed like they are in a reality show with great food .... You have found your new spot.

Bread service! High quality butter and olive oil with piment espelette and salt. But the butter and bread was my favourite!

It's been a while where I can say service is close to impeccable, but it is here. The service in the dining room is a 10, at the bar, a 9.5. I just found the service in the dining room as a bit more personable, but I'm biased since I knew a waiter from a previous restaurant. They do a great job of cleaning between courses and making sure you're topped off, etc. Shout out to Joseph (the assistant manager and sommelier), and Eli and Carlos, the lovely waiters! For Joseph, he created one of the most beautiful, bountiful wine lists ever. He took a wine course (which I'm also taking!), and he used that knowledge to input the wine list on iPads, making it easier for those that don't know wine to find something just for them. He divides it by wine type and country of origin, and even region within a country. So cool! For the food, the only thing I'd say is that they need to cut the salt by 10-15% for the beef items. I noticed that the beef was overall salty, and I had two beef plates: tartare and a hanger steak. The cook and the look was perfect, and I've had both items time and again, so the salt was a tad overpowering for me. The cook (or lack thereof for the tartare) was perfect for the steak. I'm going to try the daube, or the beef stew next. If that's a tad too salty, then I'd have to conclude that the beef dishes in general are a tad too much. Because the foie gras opera was one of the most innovative ways to eat foie gras and the balance between salt, fat, and sweet was impeccable. Perfectly balanced, even the port jelly and the preserved cherry. Everything supported that rich foie gras to perfection! I highly recommend the foie gras opera and the gran marnier soufflé dessert. The bottle of grand cru Klepka Sausse champagne had beautiful notes of ripe fruit like apples and notes honey. Lovely and safe! The raw seafood was fresh and the gougère appetiser was interesting but not my cup of tea. However, if you want something light, those are the ones to go for along with a glass of Chablis.

My first visit to Barbouzard was an absolute standout. From the moment I arrived, I was seated promptly, kicking off an evening of good service and even better food. It wasn't too busy and quite quiet so that may have played a role but I can't complain. We started with the Mi Thai and the Smoky Old Fashioned (I'm a mezcal lover so this flavor profile sparked my interest). The Old Fashioned was well made and hit those strong, bold notes, while the Mi Thai was lighter but balanced. The mini tartlets with crab and caviar were the stars of the opening act. They were perfect little bites, with a good balance between saltiness and texture. On our waiter's excellent recommendation, we also tried the scallops. The sauce had a subtle curry kick that really elevated the dish. For the entrees, the lobster pasta was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect such a generous portion, but it was plentiful and packed with large chunks of fresh lobster in a delicious sauce. We also shared the duck paella. The rice had that authentic crust bottom-like paella texture, and the duck leg was incredibly flavorful. It was a well done dish in both taste and technique. We couldn't leave without trying the Caviamisu. As a play on tiramisu designed to look like caviar, it was visually stunning and well-balanced. While the coffee flavor wasn't overpowering, I did feel it could have used a bit more texture on top to round it out. Also, the warm date pudding was quite sweet, but it came with ice cream and the toasted sesame seeds provided a necessary "toasty" balance that made it a hit. Overall, the service was attentive and truly impeccable throughout the night. Barbouzard is pricey but certainly lived up to the hype, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I went here for happy hour with some friends and they had tasty food for a really good deal - a burger and fries for $12, a big plate of pasta for $16, a large serving of gougeres for $12, and so on. All the dishes were well-made and filling. I think the crepes Basques were my favorite bite off that menu, but the gougeres were a close second. We also really enjoyed the souffle and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The only real miss was the chocolate cake, which tasted a bit stale and didn't pair well with the saffron sauce. All in all .I would return for happy hour again!

4.5 stars 'very good' We had a nice pre-Christmas meal here and were blown away by the decor and professionalism. Brandade de morue - more plentiful than I anticipated, but comfort food, soft dish of cod-potato spread, not overly salty Panisse & scallion - a rare treat to have chickpea pancake wafers (think thick crackers) with a fluffy green topping (which I forgot was scallion foam and pine nuts) Soupe à l'oignon - he had this, but felt it was too salty ('soy sauce') and said he prefers the traditional beef stock recipe [which saddened me as I appreciate a rare option to have a vegetarian onion soup] Oysters - Pink moon oysters were fresh and deep with nice serving platter Salmon a la vapeur - very tender serving, with a nice sorrel butter sauce atop a bed of wilted spinach (given all else ordered, I couldn't finish) Linguine alle Vongole - he liked this but said it was unexpectedly spicy Souffle - this tasted lemony and airy, perfectly cooked with a dusting of confectioners sugar Caviamisu - an unconventional take given the chocolate pearls on the top, but otherwise the typical, very marscapone heavy, classic Getting over a cold, we both just had teas so couldn't speak to the other drink offerings.

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

A fine variety of foods to choose from so kicked things off with a nice healthy green salad, including mixed greens, asparagus, snap peas, chives, with green goddess dressing. Tonight's entrée was the beef bourguignon. short rib that melted in your mouth. They checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. They also brought out some complimentary beet tarts (what we assumed them to be). They were not my favorite but it was a nice thoughtful gesture. I ordered the steak frites and overall it was good. However, I asked for "medium well" which should have a slight of pink inside but the steak was more so "well done". There was not even a slightest of pink and was a bit tough to cut. Other than that, I still enjoyed the meal and appreciated the service. The ambiance was also very nice and really gave off a French bistro feel.

The musicians were lightly singing and playing the piano, allowing for us to chat and not have to strain to hear one another. The dinner menu is a great deal and we all ordered. You can select an app, entree, and dessert, which includes bottomless fries and salad (which is topped with the most delicious vinaigrette), for $45. They also have $10 martinis. I had the burrata, mussels, and we all opted for a different dessert so we could share. Everything was so delicious. We ordered a side of the baguette which was so crunchy, fresh, and hot. The butter was absolutely delicious, and every bite was spectacular. The carafes of wine were a great deal as well, coming in half a liter and a liter ($18/$34), with the wine tasting good. I will certainly be retuning for a future jazz night or potentially a night on their beautiful patio. Heads up--a reservation is recommended as it fills up quickly on Thursdays!

I could hear the singer but also hear my friends talk. The service was very quick too. My friends and I got the pre fixe menu and a warm baguette with Normandy butter. The pre fixe menu includes endless fries and green salad and appetizer, entree and a dessert. Everything was wonderful. Between all of us, we got the tuna carpaccio, burata, mussels, burger and all of the desserts. I loved the cheesecake, tuna carpaccio and warm baguette. I would absolutely come back here again!
