It was hard for me to find this place, so I took a picture for my fellow Yelpers, it's off Dupont Avenue, in the second alleyway to the left after Kelley's. Came in just to check what was wrong with my car, and Italo identified the issue, but said it didn't affect the safety or performance of the car. So then I asked him to check everything else, and he noticed the brakes were worn down on one side, and the rotors were rusted. I dropped the car off on Saturday morning, and we communicated via text all day, and he quoted me a good deal for replacing the brakes and rotors, and the car was ready for pickup a few hours later. He also saved the old brakes and the rotors for me to look at when I came in to pick up the car. 5 stars for: communication, price, transparency, and speed of service. I would go back. read more

I went to get an oil change and to reattach my fog light for my 2016 Nissan Maxima at Kensington Motors today. I just got my car back and I am so happy; it looks great. :) I had driven to Ohio recently and during the 7 hour trip there, my fog light somehow snapped off. I don't really know anything about cars so I was really scared and got it checked out at some place there that told me that they just had to glue the fog light back into place. They wanted to charge $60-something--my boyfriend said that that was way too expensive for just gluing something back on. So, I decided to wait 'til I got back to MD to have it looked at and chose to come here due to its amazing reviews. I got a synthetic oil change for $60 and my fog light reattached for just $35, so practically half of what that other mechanic was charging me. It would be so easy to rip off someone like me who knows nothing about cars, but all of the reviews are right. Fair prices and sincerity will definitely bring me back to Kensington Motors the next time I need something done to my car. read more

I was referred to Italo and I am really happy with his work! I had the control arm replaced on my 02 Accord as well as my brakes and shoe pads. If your car needs a full engine tune-up (all fluids replaced!) or any other kind of non-cosmetic automotive work, go to Italo at Kensington Motors! My vehicle's combined MPG increased approximately 22% (24.1 MPG to 29.5 MPG), but the best part of getting this done was saving approximately $450 dollars compared to what the dealer would've charged me. However, when I went there after the pandemic had started, literally NO ONE was wearing a mask (or taking any other COVID-related precautions, as far as I could tell). He didn't even put a mask on to take my payment (and, of course, there was no barrier or anything like that). I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I was referred to Italo by a co-worker re problems with my Neon. All I have to say is this man is extremely knowledgeable and keeps his word. If he doesn't have an immediate solution, he mulls the problem, investigates it, and gives you the best options/choices possible. I was in a tough situation last year because members of my family were sick at different times and I was shuttling between another state, and teleworking etc. And I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. Italo took it over and not only fixed the immediate/urgent issues but he did it with the minimum amount of damage to my wallet AND told me exactly what needed to be taken care of first when I'm ready to fix the larger issues. I've been experiencing issues with my 2004 Honda Accord for the better part of the year now. Being intimidated by the prospect of looking for a reliable mechanic, I was referred to Italo by my step-dad, who has been going to him for years now and insisted on his honesty and reliability. My car has failed state inspection and required work on the steering rack and pinion, and other adjustments (rear breaks). I brought the car to Italo, who gave me a pretty no-nonsense assessment. He gave me a reasonable estimate, and I left the car with him. Two days later, he let me know the car was ready. He not only fixed the steering rack, but did work on the adjustments, as well as mounting my front bumper correctly, which I put on myself but didn't do a good enough job attaching. He didn't try to push other completely unrelated phantom issues on me, like most mechanics do. He did the job he said he would do, showed me the old, malfunctioning parts, and that was that. My car failed inspection one more time, but not due to Italo's work. I brought the car back to him, he looked it over, did further adjustments, and again, charged me a fair rate for the work it needed. I also have issues with my oil. It leaks and my car is lightly burning oil as well. I asked him to take a look at it. He did, but suggested a measured, nuanced, patient approach, because, and I quote "I don't want to have to force you to pay up front for work that didn't need to be done, and it would be a huge inconvenience to you. Getting a big job is great, but I also want to make sure we take time diagnosing the issue". He suggested a plan of action, which I followed. I brought the car in to him again, he took a look at the problem, took several photos to show me as actual proof that there are things wrong that he would have to fix. I was satisfied, and told him I'd have to return in a few weeks after assessing my financial situation. Nowhere have I met a mechanic as honest as Italo. He has true integrity, takes pride in his work, and doesn't try to screw the customer over. He recognizes that car work is expensive. Not only that, by being thorough and precise, he shows the customer details of what is wrong, what needs to be done, and has visual evidence so as to ease your mind about stressing over it. I cannot recommend him enough and will be taking my vehicles to him as long as he is around. read more

I was looking for a trustworthy mechanic who'll do the work on my 2000 celica GT-S for a reasonable price...I finally came across Italo's reviews for his shop so I called up and got my car in there for a repair. Ítalo is the guy to see if you want a true honest mechanic at a great price, not only did he bring me into the shop to show me the issue with my 02 Honda Accord. I'm glad I found Kensington Motors (it was an accident, so I'm quite fortunate) after going to the Jiffy Lube nearby. I've now had two repairs done to my '04 Honda, and both times Kensington Motors charged me 30-50% less what I was quoted by both dealers and other local repair shops. My car was always fixed on time, and considering that it's been a few months since the last of two repairs, fixed correctly!
