Winning!!! Fresh ingredients. The green sauce was mild. Their condiment table includes habanero salsa, an avocado salsa, and shredded cheese, in addition to your typical taco condiments bar options. Why go to Que Rico when you get better service and can enjoy damn fine Barbacoa tacos at Durango's Taco's?! Come for the BARBACOA tacos then go to Tonga Hut for some DRINKS. Best Mexican food in Los Angeles. I am from Durango Mexico and it tastes like home. The best barbacoa I've ever had, asada and chicken were also on point. The extra large burrito filled me up. I normally need to get at least 2 burritos in other places. The service was great we were all really drunk and mumbling. We ordered a highly customized order and they accommodated us. If you're going to drink at Tonga Hut, you're going to eat at Durango's Tacos. And not just because it's super convenient. And not just because it's inexpensive. And not just because you're drunk on tiki cocktails. I mean, sure, those things are all true. But you're also going to eat here because they make everything fresh and to-order, provide a variety of fixings, and are super sweet. Their menu is short and simple, and that's exactly what I want from a taco stand in a parking lot. Do what you do and do it well. My chicken burrito hit the spot. Thank the good lord for having the Taco lady here! Came out of Tonga Hut so hungry, and there she was in all her glory! The tacos here are so good! They are QUALITY and affordable! Those are two of my favorite things I look for when looking for food! She doesn't skimp on the meat either. All the condiments are available for no extra charge! Wow! THEIR BARBACOA IS FUCKING FLAME. (yelp wont let me use flame emojis. *thumbs down emoji*) They're usually posted up in the parking lot behind Tonga Hut, so imagine my drunken surprise when I walked out of The Good Night to see a taco stand being setup with a sign that said "Durango's Tacos". My uber driver pulled up at that exact moment, so I did what any intelligent, respectful person who'd ever ate Durango's Tacos would do in that situation. I walked up to my driver and told him to start the clock because I'm not fucking leaving without their barbacoa tacos and also would he like some, because driving uber is basically the service industry and he didn't want any but just be fucking nice to everyone in the service industry you filthy heathens, is it really that hard? Also, this is a family-run business and all of them are genuinely nice people. Anyone who gives this place less than 4 stars probably just doesn't love themselves. Dear less-than-4-stars-Reviewers: If you need a hug or some words of encouragement, feel free to inbox me. I won't ridicule you or point out any of your glaring flaws. I just want you to get to a place of personal peace and happiness so you stop taking out the frustrations you have with yourself on places that serve amazing food on yelp. I did NOT enjoy these Americanized chicken tacos. These reviews mislead me to believe that these tacos were any good. Maybe if you were drunk and never had good tacos before. The tortillas are flavorless and awful. They don't hold up very well. My tacos fell apart as I ate them. Head to Leo's Tacos late night in North Hills or Mi Ranchito Veracruz during the day in North Hollywood if you want to do it better. read more

These are some of the best tacos in LA. It's a tall order, but it's true. Served behind the Tonga Hut (excluding Mondays, so plan accordingly), these tacos are amazing. Seriously. The menu is small but satisfying - pick between burritos, quesadillas, tacos, or my personal favorite, the taco combo plate. The meat options are just the basics, and it's veggie friendly as well. What makes this stand really stand out are the quality of meat, and the impressive availability of sauces and add-ons. The spiciest salsa is no joke, by the way! Thee best barbacoa tacos in ALL the land! IIt definitely doesn't hurt that this stand is stationed right outside one of my favorite bars, but even if they had a taco cart in a sketchy area, I'd brave the riffraff for these tacos. If you're extra hungry, get the barbacoa burrito. You're welcome. read more

Want a fatty, delicious taco? Go here! Order the barbacoa and trust me, you will be happy. The barbacoa, like I said is fatty and it's a little charred so you get a crispy texture on your first bite. After that bite, the fat will release and coat every part of your mouth, lips, fingers, and plate. If you dont like that then I feel sorry for you. They also have toppings on the side like chopped onions, cilantro, and salsas. read more

You wouldn't expect it by looking at their setup, but the burritos, tacos, and quesadillas are so good, and they get better after every drink at the Tonga Hut too. The infamous "Taco Lady" is super friendly! Try their special - two tacos with rice and beans. It is only 5 dollars, and it's amazing! What a brilliant idea, setting up a quick eatery serving fresh grilled carne asada, chicken tacos / burritos / quesadillas right behind a stretch of bars. These guys must make out like bandits, and they deserve that based on the quality of the food I tried! The price point is low as well which makes the delicious food here a great value. Also, they have a little sauce, and toppings station where you can add whatever you want to your order. Give them a try if you are ever in the area. You will not be disappointed! read more

First time last night. Had a few drinks at the Tiki-Bar so decided to grab a bite to keep me from getting wasted. No line, no wait, delicious meat and food. I had a half chicken half carne asada and the cook was nice enough to throw some sautéed veggies in there. DELICIOUS! The meat was cooked well so were the veggies. Flavor was on point, sides were great and paying was easy. They take cash or CARD! Really nice local business, when im in the are I will stop by again for some of the Barbacoa that sold out! read more

Excellent taco stand behind Tonga Hut (tiki bar). With a simple menu of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, with your choice of Asada, Chicken, Barbacoa, Fish, or Veggies, you won't go wrong with any combination. The "Taco Lady", as everyone at the Tonga Hut calls her, is a must if you're imbibing. She has some very tasty, very reasonably priced food and is usually at the Tonga Hut Wednesday through Sunday nights. I've actually come and picked up food without even stepping foot in the bar, it's that good. She is also now able to take credit/debit cards too. read more

The building is an original piece of the City's history, boasting a menu that features their famous burritos that vary in size from a regular to a huge party size beast that can feed several. I tried the Hollenbeck and the Okie burritos on two separate occasions via pick up, as aforementioned, the service was quick, convenient and the pick up window is seamless, parking is located next to the structure and I haven't had problems getting there. Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.

I have tried a lot of the ceviche and the roasted fish. If you like churros, please get them... I tried them for the first time after a friend told me they were the best they had, and he was not wrong. It was not overly sweet and the chocolate was semi-sweet which was perfect.
