Looking for a place to eat on a Wednesday night ( that also had a person's name in it, a.k.a.May challenge) I stumbled upon Benny's Kosher Pizzeria. Kosher Pizza, you don't say? I had never had kosher pizza so I was game and i was pleasantly surprised. Their menu is vast with all cheese and vegetable options. ( no meat here kids) I looked at the menu and then the counter when I noticed a hippie roll. "what's a Hippie roll" you ask? Well I'll tell you, it's a about 3 lbs of fresh veggies, some really creamy cheese all wrapped in a sesame seeded dough package. I had to slow down eating it so I wouldn't bite the tips of my fingers. It was soooo good. You could tell it was freshly mad as the veggies still had their crispness to them. I also got a stuffed slice. ( hey, I was starving!) That too was stuffed with fresh veggies and breaded eggplant, all topped with their great cheese. And while it won't replace my sausage, mushroom and anchovie slice, it too was very good . I'm really glad I decided to stop in here. The staff is friendly and the place is neat. Been coming here since I was actually in diapers, since the time of moshikos. I asked for a bruschetta slice and they gave me a couple tomatoes on top and cold sauce. When I told them to charge me for the cost of the grandma, they refused. Oh well. Not going to argue over 50 cents, but here is my review. And I'll say again- the customer is always right *please tell your staff that if they ask me one more time why I still come back after posting this review I will change it to 1 star and never show up again. read more

Not sure about the rest of the food, but the pizza ain't too bueno. Every time we order from here, the pizza specifically, it never ends well. Usually the same night it kicks in and I have to go for the pepto. Not exactly sure what happened in the last 1-2 years since I first started ordering from here, but this time it was pretty bad. Never had I ordered for delivery and had to come downstairs to pick up the food which is a constant issue for the delivery people who work there. For the sake of my health and GI tract, it's best if we took a break until the quality of food goes up. Just because people eat kosher only and can't complain or have a choice doesn't mean establishments should be taking advantage of a situation. read more

Pizza was a three the actual location and the cleanliness inside was a five So I gave it up for overall.Great selection of pizza, but no meats, obviously since it's kosher. Pizza was a little light on the sauce, and a little light on the cheese. Price is not bad, two slices and a soda was $7.50. But was a little lacking in flavor. Definitely the place to stop if you're vegan or vegetarian. Seem to be very ample parking also. read more

When glancing at the ratings for "Benny's", I was confused why this over-hyped pizza joint had an average rating of 4 stars ,,,, OK ,,, did some investigating work (Mark-style) and this answer became obvious: "Benny's" HAD better products and costumer service (you can verify this by looking at the older reviews). I RARELY give both 1 and 5 star reviews, but what this place does is simply unacceptable, and must undergo a severe makeover (or maybe they should revert back to their old style?). Workers are LAZY, manager is rude, and food is of low quality ... not to mention those odd benches aren't properly fixated ... so space may be an issue too. I was initially prompted to write this review on their "nickel and diming" tactics ... It's important to realize that kosher pizza restaurants are usually in need of a major makeover -- especially the ones in Queens though. "Bravo" pizzeria is one of the few of excellent quality food items, though sometimes severely lacking in customer service. Similar to "Naomi's Pizza", "Benny's" will try to skimp basic and expected parts of a dish by charging for items that will prompt you to think about how disgustingly cheap these places are. The classic example is charging for Israeli salad in a falafel by tossing in a few wet lettuce leaves instead. You wouldn't believe that they could surpass "Naomi's" techniques, but they go further: they charge for humus on a falafel. That is just cheap. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. What a bunch of jaded panhandlers ... There is such a large profit margin for pizza as it is! Mark would have to take a breath of fresh air to compose himself. As for quality ... expected: unsatisfying. It just isn't good pizza. I have been here in the past and have had those below average experiences, but after what I just saw ... well, you fill in the blank ... What exactly is kosher pizza, anyway, to the non-Jewish diner? As it turns out, it's not much different from your normal pizzeria's at Benny's, if not better. Pros: Nice creaminess to their pizza cheeses, both regular and fresh mozzarella. Good ingredients, overall. Decent prices (about average for the region). Cons: Zero meat pizza options (might have something to do with Kosher law prohibiting mixing meat and dairy). Whole pies are not significantly discounted per-slice compared with with their slice prices. A couple of years back, I was eating a couple of regular slices for lunch everyday from the nearby Acquista Trattatoria. Acquista had easily the lowest prices around, and their pizzas were solid. But I wanted to try something different, so I went to Benny's. At first, I was apprehensive. I mean, Kosher pizza? What did that entail, anyway? So as I overcame my apprehension, I decided that as long the prices were reasonable, then I would get a couple of slices. Luckily, the regular slices were only $2.25, not much more than the regular slice at Acquista. So as I bit into my first experience with Kosher pizza, I noticed a distinct creaminess in the cheese, something I've never encountered with any other regular slice's cheese. It was...different. A very nice sensation, yes, but still not something that I was really used to with my pizza. A bit unnerved, I decided to abandon Benny's for the past 2 years. But after eating many a tasteless regular slice in the past few months, I decided that the creamy cheese taste was a taste that I was willing to acquire. No, it wasn't the reason that I went to Benny's today, after a 2 year hiatus (I needed to drop something off at the nearby post office, and I hadn't had lunch yet). But after my lunch, it was a good enough reason to go there again in the near future. As I discerned the pizzas displayed in the case under the counter, my eyes wandered to the end of the counter to Benny's most expensive pizza: the fresh mozzarella, basil, & tomato slice. There were two of them, and I knew they were exactly what I wanted. I immediately asked the counterman to heat up the pair, though I knew they were going to be expensive. And they certainly were: $3.50 a slice, probably the most I've ever paid for a slice. But I knew that they would be worth it. As I rushed home with my superheated slices, the pair had cooled down, but not nearly enough to ruin the experience. The mozzarella tasted heavenly - intensely rich, milky, and creamy. The tomato sauce and basil added fresh, sweet and tangy flavors to contrast the richness of the mozzarella. And the crust was well made and thick enough to hold everything with exceptional integrity (a big complaint, recently, is that so many places skimp on the crust, both quantitatively and qualitatively). In sum, it was easily the best pizza slice that I've had in recent memory. read more

I have been ordering from Benn'ys kosher pizza for years. Today they did not press the door bell button hard enough so I did not hear it ring. That's just the mechanics of a door bell. I call to see why the food is an hour and a half late. The owner says to me. 'Were you sleeping?' I say to him 'I have been ordering from you for years and the first thing you do is try to place blame on me. I told him he should look less into my sleeping patterns and more into his ability to have a door bell being sounded. I give 1 star for rudeness to a weekly customer. read more

The worst almost happened. Here we were on a Saturday night, tired of eating meat for shabbat and then for lunch today and looking for somewhere dairy to go for dinner. What is our best location option? Ugh, Cafe Muscat. After about ten minutes I finally convince my fiance to go there. We arrive at around 10:00pm and what a surprise - the line is out the door. Did I forget to mention that it's raining? So we make a reservation "it will only take twenty minutes" and coincidentally park the car in the same spot we sat last week - and we wait. Twenty minutes passes by and we decide to go in and see if our table is ready. It's not. We float around and wait and finally decide to go down the street to Benny's Pizza. A place that my fiance claimed had the best kosher pizza around. We leave and then we notice some people outside mentioning that they do not want to wait and leave themselves. The girls jump at this opportunity and start calculating if we can get in any faster. After hearing "they told us it would only be 20 minutes an hour ago" from some others waiting outside, I finally convince everyone to go to Benny's. When we get there it is my kind of place. No line to order! Yes! We quickly grabbed a table and went up to the counter to order. I ordered a veggie burrito, spinach slice, and a order of spicy curly fries for the table. The burrito was not so great - it needed more cheese and beans. It was basically just some white rice with veggies, I would definately not get it again. Next time I will go with the cheese quesadilla to fill the mexican food void in my life. (PS. can someone PLEASE open up a kosher dairy mexican food place? Bravo to C's and G's for opening a meat place but I would do anything for some queso dip and a beany cheesy burrito.) The spinach slice was excellent - although I wish I would have ordered a regular slice because that is the only way you can gage and compare one pizzeria to another - although now I have a great reason to go back! My fiance got the Eggplant slice which was HUGE and tasted great as well as a falafel which was pretty good. My friend and his wife with us both got the thin crust personal pizzas which looked great and at $4 each they can't be beat. They also got a caeser salad which looked kind of lame - this place doesn't seem much like a salad place at all. The employees were all nice and helpful and were pretty patient with our ordering. Something I really liked unlike some kosher pizza places - I won't name names this time. Right around when we finished eating we got a call - it was Cafe Muscat, our table was ready (lol). We didn't pay until we left which was the best part - only $32 for everything! I like pizzerias that let you order like a king, eat, and then go up and pay at the end I definitely see myself back here again! Great place! read more

We go there with my friend with my 4 year old boy and her 2 boys. So the pizza was great and the price is great like 21 dollar for big pie and big coke and franch froze. But first the tables not clean, t hy e thing where the napkins all around. Secend the stuff omg the staff u pay they do it fast but then u need to ask evrything. The lady who is the new owner is really difficult. She charges you super high extra prices on every minor change you make on your order!! I ordered an egg omelet and made a few minor changes, she charged me $18.00! Just for an egg omelet!! I could have bought 100 eggs that 8 dozen eggs at Aaron's more the same price, made my own omelet and had 97 eggs left over!!! Unfortunately I kept having bad experiences with their OVER SALTED, stale soups a couple of times. Anytime I ordered French fries and mozzarella sticks you can tell the oil was so old. It sucks because there's not much places to go around fresh Meadows to have Decent lunch. They should fire their lazy staff and start all over again. Over all this place is not FRESH! read more

This place is a carb infested dream world. Came here with the family for a little lunch. They have outstanding specials, a whole pie of cheese pizza, a 2 liter soda and 2 large fries. This was enough to feed 5 of us and all for the great price of 20 or so dollars. I only wish they had more space and bigger booths. Otherwise, its the best kosher pizza I've tried in Queens thus far. Benny's is my favorite Dairy Restaurant in Queens. Notice I didn't say pizza place - I said dairy restaurant. Yes, they are by far the best pizza in Queens, but they are also so much more than that. I've tried several of their various dishes and they never disappoint. I have tried the pizza, the salads, the fries, the pastas, the falafel, and even the omelets & soups... everything there is absolutely delicious! Great for a casual quick bite or take out. Food is always fresh. The guys that work there are also super nice. My only complaint is sometimes it can get very busy inside and there aren't too many tables, but I can always take it home. Very surprised when I walked in, to see how nice this place is - more than your average pizza joint. I got two slices and a can of soda ($5.75) and a falafel ($4.50) to go. Service was friendly and quick. Husband said pizza was the better of NYC pizza, perfect cheese and tomato ratio on perfectly cooked dough. My falafel was DELISH! Falafel balls were perfect and came with sauerkraut, pickles, lettuce and tomato and tahini sauce. 50 cents extra for hummus. Good selection of drinks. Got a root beer for $2 and happy to see it was the good stuff without any added colors and preservatives. Street parking but lots of spaces. You get a lot bang for your buck and we were more than satisfied with our food. This is definitely our new to-go spot. read more

Went to a friend's house on a Saturday night around the area and we ordered a few pies from Benny's. Delivery was quick and the pies were hot. The pizza was great! I personally hate pizza that has too much tomato sauce and Benny's pizza definitely balanced the cheese and sauce perfectly.
