The lunch portion came with plenty of food. The red lentil soup was delicious. It was full of flavor with a slight kick to it which made it very enjoyable. The chicken shish was amazing- full of flavor and cooked well. The rice and salad were the perfect side dishes, however I could have done with not as much dressing in the salad, but still tasted great. Definitely enjoyed this meal and will be ordering from them again.

Incredibly amazing!! I wish I can give 10 stars for this place. Me and my boyfriend just walked in and taste their mixed grill and mixed appetizers which both of them were extremely amazing. Highly recommended!!!!

After having lived in Totowa for 8 years, my brother and I stopped into this gem of a restaurant for the first time today. The lady at the counter was so sweet, made conversation with us, and even offered us a delicious cup of warm turkish tea while we waited. The tea was so inviting we actually ended up switching our order from take out to dine-in, and they kindly accommodated that as well. We both ordered platters, chicken gyro for me and beef/lamb shish for my brother, and the portions were sizable. I took half home for dinner while my brother finished his entire plate on the spot. The chicken was tender and savory, the rice buttery and flavorful, and the pita soft and warm. Would definitely recommend! Knocked down a star simply because I found it to be a bit pricey for a casual lunch in town (~$29 for the both of us).

It is tempting to say that this place has one of the better Doner sandwich (/ platter). But that might steal the thunder from the excellent & authentic Turkish Tea that this small casual establishment serves. Likewise saying anything about the near perfect cup of tea might rob the spot light from the most amazing home made Ayran, made from home made Yogurt, that I have had this side of the Atlantic. Go there for the Ayran drink, go there for the tea, go there for the Doner, for the rice pudding, for the humus & grilled eggplant, for the slow passionate cooking by a husband-wife team. They cook, they serve, they make comforting small conversation, while serving delicious home made food. .

Dear lord this food is amazing. Without a doubt the best hummus I've ever had. Literally, every.single.item I was was so tasty. Their lamb kebab is very tender and extra flavorful. I can't say enough about this place. Such a gem!

This place absolutely AMAZING! I was curving for gyro and we decided to come here with my friend. I had the best lamb gyro ever. The stuff is very nice and they offer us a free baklava which was also very delicious. I highly recommend this place l. You should definitely try. I have had this establishment bookmarked on my list of places to try for a while. While running Saturday afternoon errands in the area, decided to stop by with my daughter to give it a try. What a fantastic find! From the second we walked in the door, the husband and wife owner team were super friendly and inviting. My daughter chose the Gyro and I chose the adena kabob wrap along with a side order of fries. As we were waiting for our food to arrive, a few other customer stopped in and they seemed to have favorable past experiences. We noticed baba ghanouj in the service counter and the owner encouraged us to try some - since it was homemade. When I asked for a small sample along with their homemade hummus, she obliged with a nice size sample plate. It was so good, we decided to take a container home with us for the rest of the family to try! Looks like they do a lot of takeout, having three tables for those who wish to dine in. We decided to stay there to eat in the restaurant and glad we did. This great restaurant it's worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood or even driving by on interstate 80. It's just a few minutes off the highway and the neighborhood is very safe. Give them a shot - you will not be disappointed!

One of the best Turkish restaurants in Totowa, NJ area. It's a nice and cozy family owned restaurant. The food is authentic and everything is made from scratch. We order Salata as the appetizer which served with Pita bread. For main course we ordered Lamb Adana gyro and Tavuk Doner plate (chicken gyro platter)served with the pilaf style rice. The tatziki spice was nice and consistent without mayonnaise . Loved the food. Would definitely recommend the place.

The food is authentic, fresh, and extremely tasty. It's an old world taste in a small modern setting with affordable prices. You will not be disappointed.......

Good portions for lunch sets. Our Kunefe was burnt so that was disappointing but other than that, the food was satisfying.

COME HUNGRY! I came here to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday with my husband's family…read morerecently. There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. The 6 of us could've easily had the family special for 4 without ordering anything else - there was so much food and we had leftovers to take home!! For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

I was very worried that, after the move, I would not be able to find middle eastern food that would compare. However, I was wrong, and Esfane definitely satisfied my craving! I was in the mood for a light lunch, so I ordered the Shepard's Salad, the Baba Ghannouj, and the Lentil Soup. The Baba Ghannouj was excellent and came with lots of pita bread. It could've been a little smokier for my taste, but overall I got a huge serving and it was very creamy and flavorful. The Sheppard's salad was similarly huge and delicious. The lentil soup tasted home-made and was so comforting to dip all of my extra bread in. At the end of lunch, I was also served some complimentary tea, which definiitely was the icing on the cake to this exceptional experience. Overall, I was extremely satisfied by the quality of the food, but also by the amount. The service was similarly excellent. My water was constantly filled and the waiters checked on me numerous times to ensure everything was going well. The decorations inside were also exceptional, and the restaurant definitely gives high-class date night vibes. I could totally see coming back for a date night with my husband. I think the only downside is that I didn't find the food to be QUITE as good as some Paterson joints like Al Basha, and the price felt like it was 1.5x-2x as much. Probably worth it though, because this has got to be one of the better restaurants around in Flanders.

We got a table right away. The menu had a variety of dishes like appetizers, soups, gyro, kebabs, pasta, pizzas, seafood, wraps and sandwiches. In drinks section, they had the Turkish coffee and tea. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. Despite the shortcoming of the pizza, which is not usually a Turkish dish, I was thoroughly impressed by the actually Turkish dishes, like liver cubes and kebabs. I'll for sure visit them again whenever I feel like having kebabs next time

We had to ask twice for our rice we ordered for entrees to be brought out because our server forgot. Fine, that happens. But what really threw me off was when I questioned if the mold in my cheese was normal, the server assured me it was naturally occurring for the flavor. I felt gaslit because I have never had Parmesan with such questionable green growth on it for consumption in any restaurant in my entire life. The server said if it bothered me, he'd bring out fresh shavings with no mold. I have left pictures so you can be the judge of this. Aside from my minor issue with the cheese, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and there's plenty of choices for meat and non-meat eaters alike
