Came on a whim when I was in the area. It's a quick serve so you order at the counter then sit down and they bring it out to you. There are about 8 two-top tables and the place is very clean. Opted for the lunch special which seemed to be a good deal for a decent amount of food. I chose the Adana Kebab with two sides of rice, lentil soup, and the eggplant sauce. The term sauce here is a bit misleading as it's more of an appetizer or salad, but I recommend ordering it as it goes nicely with the bread. The kebab, rice, and lentil soup were all great, as well. I believe the rice has wheat in it, so be sure to ask if you have any gluten issues. It was a great value for lunch. The gentleman working, I believe is the owner, was also nice. read more

The food is terrible. The chicken gyro was all brown chopped up meat. It looked like cat food. I never request to have some kind of pot pie on my sandwich which I received. It's right next to Starbucks. I missed the entrance to Starbucks, so I pulled into Sub Gyro parking lot. It was lunch time and I was hungry, so I decided to try it out. Since I had to order at the register, so I thought it was a Mediterranean fast food place. I ordered my food and then I walked over to Starbucks and came back with my coffee. That's when I realized it was actually a sit down restaurant. Lovely place, clean and bright interior, very friendly service. I sit down at a table and the owner promptly brought me a basket filled with pitas and Turkish bread. Then the food I ordered (lunch special - adana kebab with rice and bulgur, hummus and lentil soup). The kebab was well seasoned and the food was great and you really get a lot of food for the price you pay. I had leftovers so I ended up ordering the falafel appetizer to go so I can have that with my leftovers. I don't know what the one other review was talking about when they gave a negative review. This place was delicious! We wanted quick but healthy take out and we had passed this spot numerous times so we tried it. The prices are very reasonable for what you get ! Everything was perfectly prepared and fresh. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad it came with had a great dressing. Hummus was smooth and creamy and they gave a big bag of pita and Pide bread to go with it. My mom & I stopped here 2 months ago and I'm still thinking about how amazing the experience was! The food was delicious & so flavorful and the portions were perfect as well, with the right amount of sauce (we got lamb and falafel gyros). The service was phenomenal, the whole staff was so friendly and engaging. We got baklava at the end and they even made us complimentary tea to go along with it. Food is absolutely delicious. The platters are plentiful and they give you two types of rice, and the gyros are authentic, sliced from a vertical spit (not a "gyro patty like most places give). Everything I've had there as great. And I dunno what that other reviewer said "this franchise is about as Turkish as McDonald's". A) it's not a franchise and b ) I'm Turkish and it's pretty authentic. Definitely must try this place if you like Mediterranean/turkish food. read more

My husband and I have been meaning to try this restaurant and we finally had the opportunity. I'm only upset we didn't try it sooner! It was delicious! The lamb gyro had an incredible amount of meat with an equally great flavor. The chicken kabob was so tender and tasty along with the rice and bulgar. We also tried the eggplant sauce which was the best I've ever had. I'm so full and yet I can't wait to have my leftovers tomorrow! Will definitely be going back as often as we can. Usually have to go to Paterson to get ME food this good. Have been here 4x so far. The sis kebab and all sandwiches are unbelievable. The Turkish orange soda is far superior to the syrupy sweet brands usually available. This place is top notch. Considering its location, it actually has some charm as a sit-down restaurant as the interior is very new and clean, The name SubGyro does not do this place justice. There are no other Turkish restaurants that give a delightful and delicious meal like sub gyro. Oh and the service was amazing allways taking care of their customers and there is one beautiful little girl always greeting their customers.
