Just about every year in October we'd go to Dusty's on a Sunday night for dinner with friends. Over the years we've had a lot of experiences there, mostly good. First off this is a smaller restaurant that looks and feels like it was a private residence renovated to be a restaurant. There are two sections to be seated in. The smaller one has a TV in it, while the other is larger and is better for large groups. However, if you have multiple large groups in there, it can get loud. The parking is kind of difficult too. There is a small lot there at the restaurant and then across the street there is another small parking lot. If they are busy, you may have difficulty finding a place to park. The food here is pretty good. They have some good pizza and the pasta is delicious. The last time we went our group ordered some pizzas and some of us got pasta. I had the lasagna and it was pretty good. It's the Pizza that really stood out. They were delicious and no one had any complaints. Good sauce, nice crust, fresh toppings, everything you want in a pizza. The service was pretty good, there were some mistakes made, but we had a group of over 20 people so mistakes are going to happen. I'm forgiving of that. Especially since there was another large group there when we arrived. Overall, if you're in the area and looking for some good pizza. I'd recommend giving Dusty's a try. read more

We waited a total of 3 hours for 2 burned pizzas. We called to complain and they sent a new pizza. An hour and a half later that second pizza arrived also burned. I called and the manager said she checked it wasn't burned. I told her I was looking at it and it's black on the left side. She then said it had to be cooked that way or it's doughy. There are Photos of both pizzas that are very obviously burned. Your oven or recipe issues are not my problem. We liked this place a year ago but never again. She offered me a refund. I left an envelope on my door (we paid cash) bc my baby is sleeping. She called again to tell me she needed the pizzas back. I have never ever heard of a place treating their customers so poorly. Update: the driver showed up to bring us our refund and take the pizzas away. I had written a review with pictures on fb and all the photos were deleted. Terrible customer service. What a bummer Napoli's is a drive but I will never stray again. read more

Dusty's is a small town pizzeria with big town taste! Actually DH and I didn't opt for pizza. Instead I had the tortellini bake and DH had ribs (half order) with deep fried shrimp and a baked potato. We found the side salads were tasty. DH totally enjoyed his dinner, a special for the evening. My tortellini bake was a HUGE portion. It could easily enough have been a dish to share. No room for dessert. Service was a bit slow, but small-town friendly. read more

My absolute go to for pizza take out delivery or eating there has always been a great experience! The food is amazing the staff and owners even better! Our kids love going there because they give you dough and cookie cutters to play with while waiting for the food! Always makes you feel like part of the family instead of a customer! I've lived in Wonder Lake most of my life, and Dusty's is the BEST pizza. The sauce is more on the sweet side, which I love. The pasta dishes are average. Delivery and pick up times are always super fast, even during busy weekend dinner times. Definitely a place to stop in at/order out from when in the Wonder Lake area. read more

Grabbed dinner here with my best good friend and his wife (along with my wife). I used to ride my bike the, gosh, 3 or 4 miles to Dusty's when I was a kid. And I ordered bacon cheeseburgers, of course. And they always served it with a side of cole slaw, and I kid you not, every cole slaw I've eaten since has been compared to that little plastic cup of it I'd get at Dusty's. It is PERFECT. Thin sauce that's perfectly acidic -- just the right amount of vinegar -- and finely shredded cabbage mixed with carrots. If it's homemade, awesome. If not, who cares? I don't. I love it. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread and got some breadsticks thrown in, too. Cheesy garlic bread is my second favorite side there. Sooo delicious. We got two pizzas. A regular thin crust with sausage and mushrooms and then a white pizza with chicken. White pizza was awesome with the perfect amount of garlic, and the other pizza was the perfect mix of salty cheese and sausage with a sweet marinara sauce. The ONLY sweet pizza sauce I really, really enjoy (I prefer a saltier sauce). My only complaint -- the crust on the regular pizza was not crisp enough. It was doughy and got soggy and made quite an impact on the quality of that pizza. :( I think it was a fluke, though, 'cause the white pizza's crust was perfect. Definitely go here. Terrific little pizzeria. Small, homey and really tasty food. We tried the wonderful homemade chicken soup and a veggie thin crust pizza. The specials for the Friday night we visited were standard fried cod and fries. They also had a special appetizer of meatballs surrounded with slices of sausage slices topped with sauce. Looked like a meat extravaganza. Our pizza was tasty. The sauce was perfect and the crust crispy with just the right edge burn. I prefer the veggies to be much less crispy on my pizza but my dinner partner she prefers her veggies to have a snap. Go figure. We will definitely go back and try more entrees and soak in the fun. read more

I grew up in Wonder Lake so Dusty's is somewhere that we went often in my childhood. I never get sick of their pizza. It is very much midwestern pizza (cut into squares, not big triangular slices...also thin crust), but it is done wonderfully. I don't know if it is still on the menu (it has been awhile), but the garbage pizza is amazing (and intense!). Just a warning....the one thing I do love about Dusty's is the tomato sauce. It is sweeter and tangier than other sauces I have had on pizzas, and I love it. Some may not prefer it. This is a family-run business, not a chain, so that is a plus as well. I would much rather give my money to smaller businesses than large bloodsucking corporations that do not have souls. I know they have done a lot of renovations over the years, so the 'dining in' experience has becoming better and better. When I was a kid over twenty years ago, I remember going in there and everything looked kinda seventies-ish and outdated, but they have made some efforts to update the restaurant. They have live music and an outside deck area with tables, and beer. It is quaint, but fun and charming. Dusty's is the typical, small-town, pizza shop. The pizza is good enough, and the portions are sized well. The atmosphere is good and the all-you can-eat buffets are generally very good. The restaurant is called Dusty's Pizza, but the pizza is the second-to-last item on their menu, in terms of what I've tried, that I like. the only thing I like less is the pasta. However, if you're hanging out with friends, want a place for a pizza and some beers, and a good place to hang out, Dusty's is a really good option. read more

Great patio, nice indoor side room for larger groups. We have been here as a larger group, ordering multiple, consistent thin crust pizzas with plenty of topping selections. Delicious! Try the bacon! Great, attentive service. Beyond the food, my improvement suggestion would be to offer free WiFi. There is not much of a signal here. read more

Ordered a pizza last week BLT we tought Jill the awesome amazing owner how to make it 7 years ago and have been ordering it ever since often. Dough/cheese/bacon in the oven when it's done mayo lettuce and tomato. New owners blamed us for them making it wrong originally cause we said BLT which ment to them red sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato. I called to take advantage of the replacement today and there is only a credit of $8 because we ate the pizza NOT TRUE it went in the garbage. I wasn't told to return it and when she offered to remake it then I said that I wasn't coming from woodstock in 45 mins for the correct pizza we will come another day. So when I was told I got an $8 credit I said no way that was not stated, she proceeded to talk over me and tell me we ate it and while I'm explaining she can expect a charge back from her merchant bank cause we are disputing it for non receipt of goods she tells me to F-off and hangs up ......WON'T BE THERE ANYMORE read more

We had heard Dusty's had good pizza & they do. The atmosphere is nice & with the warmer weather you have the option of sitting on the patio. There is also a room in the back for larger groups. We started with the cheddar battered cauliflower which were good, the batter was light & crispy. We decided on pizza & ordered a thin crust with Alfredo sauce, sausage, spinach & pepperoncini. The crust was not as thin as I would have liked, but it was good & the edges were deliciously crispy. The sauce was good & there were just the right amount of ingredients, it was really cheesy which I especially liked because I love cheese! We also ordered dessert, key lime pie & a warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla I cream, chocolate syrup, whip cream & a cherry. It was very good & very large, I ended up taking most of it home. The service was very friendly & really good! A nice evening out for a very fair price. read more

Sarah, the manager, might be the most incompetent individual I've ever spoken with. We called and ordered a salad with some extras, for delivery... They forgot the extras. It's our fault for asking for too much apparently. When we called back to let them know of the mistake, we were chastised on the phone and hung up on twice. The customer service is terrible. Literally the worst I've ever experienced. I don't expect much from a hole in the wall like this, and I was still disappointed. Sarah, please go back and get your GED. You can do better. Horrible. Asked for a steak medium-well and loaded baked potato and 2 all you can eat chicken strip meals. After waiting 45 minutes for our food. The steak came out burnt and cold. Baked potato was not loaded and chicken was warm. When we asked the waitress about the potato we were told that's not what we ordered and she walked away. Half way through eating we were asked how the food was, no one answered and again the waitress walked away with no response. After eating we immediately asked for the bill. after another 10 minutes of waiting we had to go up to the check out and ask for the bill. The check out lady was advised of how bad our meal was and no attempt was made to make it right. bring a barf bag and call the ambulance in advance....my mother ordered two shrimp dinners for carry out and the first weird thing was one of the cole slaws made it there with no cap on it..the next was 2 snot rags and a paper towel in the bottom of her meal . She called there and they asked her if she wanted another shrimp meal...omg.....how about a barf bag.......then they told her they didnt believe her and hung up on her.....i tryed to post a picture of these things that were in there wadded up like shrimp i hope she didnt accidently eat one she is seventy four years old....omg......im sure whatever that snot rag was its not a good thing for her.......this place should be shut down! read more

I I walked past one server sitting down and playing the poker machine. None of the staff seem to notice me so after about 5-10 minutes I just got up and walked out. No sense going back! read more

Ordered a childhood favorite from here. Was not happy... the food has definitely gone down hill. I ordered the linguine with olive oil and garlic with broccoli and chicken. First it was very bland, then the noodles were over cooked and watery, the chicken was very dry, and I have never seen broccoli that shade of green before. I've been here one time, then I moved out of state. Every couple months I crave the Italian Nachos. They were probably one of the best meals I've ever had. Good thin crust pizza, and the best in Wonder Lake...but everyone who lives in town already knows this. For everyone else, the small main dining room expands to a larger seating area in the back that can be used for parties and larger gatherings. They also have a nice outdoor porch seating area. We finally stopped in for dinner last night and regret we didn't sooner! They dining room was decorated like a cozy north woods cabin. Our waitress although busy gave us menu's and took our drink orders with a smile. We must of entered at the peak hours of business the place was hopping. Drinks arrived quickly and we ordered our usual pizza combination. Just when our second round of drinks arrived so did our pie. It looked so good however I could see the steam rolling off and knew better than to bite to soon. Made that mistake before, ouch. Just as good as it looked. The crust was cooked to perfection, sauce tasted seasoned, and the cheese was baked golden brown. Maybe it was the booze but that cozy little pizzeria gets two thumbs up from me! read more
