Absolutely amazing. The Chicago pizza was great. And we loved the cheese-filled breadsticks in a garlic butter sauce. The owner was very friendly and helped us with our order since we were from out of town stopping thru for a couple days for our son's graduation from Navy boot camp. he pushed tables together for us. he provided us with the breadsticks for free. An overall great experience. Unfortunately for us that we won't be able to stop in again, as we live in Pennsylvania, so I wanted to make sure everyone knew how great a dining experience we had. read more

Visited recently since I was craving a slice of pizza for lunch. After dri ingredients to Antioch Pizza to find it closed until 12 (even though Yelp said it was open), I stopped here on the way back to the office. Glad I did. We decided to grab a chicken BBQ Pizza from here and their fried ravioli. I had it a few months ago and it was delicious! Sadly they said they had changed their menu a couple months ago and no longer make it. So we ended up just with a chicken BBQ pizza. Got home, took a bite and it was not good at all. I've never had a chicken BBQ pizza this awful before! The sauce tasted like some water down generic BBQ sauce. It was just salty and not sweet. It was worse than store brought sauce. Or even homemade pizza! The 14" pizza was about $20 some dollars and it was worse than eating fast food! Dinner was pretty much ruined. Had to make other food instead. I strongly suggest you stay away from this chicken BBQ. If this is considered their "specialty," I can't imagine what their regular pizza taste like... overall this was a huge disappointment! read more

I just arrived in town to speak at a convention and no complimentary limousine had been sent for me and my 25 gests so I had to get a rent-a-car of all preposterous things. I had just arrived at the rent-a-car establishment and there was this little pizzeria named Jimano's next door and this attractive employee at the counter caught my fancy. Well, I went in and I was bombarded by this amazing aroma of what I can only explain as heaven. While Jeffries, my butler was taking care of the rental accommodations, my 25 guests and I sat down to dine which just had enough room for all of us. Little did I know my mouth was in for the ride of its life. We ordered a variety of food ranging from thin crust to stuffed pizza and appetizers. As we were waiting, they supplied us with a rather graciously large order of their mouthwatering breadstix. Well, I tell you, as I thrust that mouthwatering breadstick into my mouth, I couldn't believe what amazing flavors were gracefully crossing my food pallets; it was mouthwatering indeed. Next to enter my mouth was a rather interesting style Chicago pizza called The Stuffed. What a beauty this was, a baked deep dish pie reminiscent of Grandma's apple cobbler back in Cardif. All the ingredients are jammed into this pie and sealed with a hand rolled edge just like Grandmas cobbler and topped off with a marvelous thick red sauce. I can tell you, this tantalized my pallets as well. Everything from the environment, the staff, the thin crust to the stuffed and everything in between was absolutely amazing. Recently moved from Libertyville to Gurnee. My fav pizza is Silo. And next would be Pizza Itailia. So looking for a place in the Gurnee area. After trying several places, and really missing my fav's...my neighbor advised me to try this place. The first time I tried it, the to girl who answered was so rude and screwed up my order. I mean everything from the wrong slice to the the wrong crust to charging me two times and making the delivery man wait outside my house in the cold and he had no coat on. But even though everything was wrong, my husband said it wasn't bad. So I ordered tonight. Same fucking girl who took the last order. So after hanging up, I thought no way should people be treated this way. They are taking my money AND 30 for a pizza is fucking outrages! Giordonos is cheaper. We get the same thing all the time. And they are so much nicer to you. Also the manager, named America? Said she was going to give me a refund for 65 cents? I never asked for a refund. Everything is good here! It's located right by Gurnee Mills. They have several locations in Illinois and Wisconsin. I'm quite sure their food is equally delicious. I had the thin crust signature Pizza with everything. (Jalapeño peppers on top for Pizza actually works)! Their pizza sauce is beyond words. They even have a pizza with Italian beef on it. Speaking of Italian beef, I heard there's is one of the best. I think I will try that the next time I visit. The staff is extraordinary, and the service is impeccable. My husband, our friend, and I visited this JImano's restaurant on June 22 at about 9:30pm, having just driven in from Cleveland. Steven, the manager, went above and beyond the call of his duty to advise us on the kind of pizza we'd ordered ("not Chicago deep-dish") and to let us know that the pizza would take about 25-30 minutes to prepare and cook. He did not mention that the store would be closing in about that time, and he let us eat in a relaxed manner when the pizza arrived - he did not kick us out, even though the pizza arrived at just about closing time. Steven also accommodated our special version of the "create your own 6-pack" beverage choice. I was concerned that he would get in trouble for doing this, and he said, "Don't worry: I'm the manager, so I won't get in trouble." In addition to this beautiful, kind treatment, we had the world's best pizza. It was made with the freshest ingredients, cooked to just the right temperature, and came hot from the oven. I have only two regrets about this situation: 1 - I'd promised Steven to write a very nice review the next morning, and I've had to wait for 4 days to do it for reasons beyond my control; and 2 - Jimano's doesn't yet have a restaurant in northern Virginia, where we live. (HINT, HINT Jimano's!) Jimano's and Steven provide a delicious and welcoming dining experience, one where we felt at home from the moment we walked through the door. When we left northern Virginia on June 21, I told my husband and our friend that we were going to have dinner at Jimano's in Gurnee on the 22nd. They knew better than to argue, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We cannot say enough good things about Jimano's and Steven. We will definitely return! read more

Price is a little high for area at that quality of pizza. Did you know that Jimano's makes awesome fried chicken?! Wow I discovered when I wanted a quick dinner but did not want pizza. A great alternative to KFC or Popeyes. I actually prefer Jimanos. This review is based on the Pizza from the Gurnee Jimano's only. The cliche saying of fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me totally makes sense at Jimano's. The first time we had it was when we moved into the area from the City and we got a thin crust, mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza. We get home and open the pizza to the thinnest layer of toppings and cheese I have ever seen. I go to take a slice and what little cheese there is slides off... of every single slice I took no matter how I grabbed it. Took a bite, the cheese I managed to save on the slice slides off with the bite so essentially my first bite of each slice had all the cheese on it and the rest of the slice was crust with a ketchupy sauce. The pizza was bad. Im sorry, but that pizza made Papa John's Pizza look like a michelin star pizza restaurant, it was that bad. I figured ok, the first time might have been a fluke so I decided to try it again. We ordered the double dough instead. Once again, totally skimpy toppings, barely any cheese, and this time a thick bready dough. Go to pick up slice one and bam!! there goes the cheese. Just like my first experience, I put the cheese back on my slice, eat all the cheese from one slice in one bite. I immediately grabbed the rest of the pizza and said that's it, tossed it, and said next time we are getting a frozen pizza. Thin crust. Bad. Double dough. Bad. Toppings. Bad. Come on Jimano's, is cheese really that expensive that you can barely cover a pizza with any? And the sauce is runny liquidy so nothing stays on the pizza! Maybe I am picky but this place is bad. No way I am coming back. I'll go to chuck-e-cheese for pizza before I go back to Jimano's. I don't know what their other food is like but their pizza blows. Jimano's is our favorite pizza. We order from here very often. They offer Alfredo sauce as an alternative to tomato sauce. Even though their tomato sauce is very good, the Alfredo sauce pizza is irresistible to us! We combine it with their excellent sausage, pepperoni and black olives on thin crust for a swoon-worthy treat. They are very generous with their toppings, especially the cheese. The breadsticks are unlike anything anyone else has to offer. Not dried up bread with some garlic and maybe Parmesan. But airy, puffy bites with the most wonderfully seasoned olive oil. At this point, we could be on the floor with our swoon. But then, we wouldn't be able to continue to eat. Arrives so hot you can burn your mouth if you're not careful. Amaaaazing! read more
