It was awesome to have people playing the blues while we sat and enjoyed our food and their music! We both ordered cheeseburgers and a soda with a small french fry to share between us. The young guy who was serving us forgot that we ordered a small fry and hopefully we will not get cold food to our table. Great service here, he doubled the order at no extra charge, so he said. And the burgers are still warm.! We got the bill and he charged us for a Large fry!! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. We loved the antiques throughout the restaurant and bar. They have a large menu including daily specials, pizza and broasted chicken. They even have a doggie menu. Outstanding hot dogs and some of the best fries around - served hot! Thank you! We really wanted a hot dog and stopped here. They don't have a drive through, but it's definitely worth the stop to go inside and order the takeout. The restaurant is cute! Old time slot and pinball machines, cozy tables and an older style bar. There is also a side room where blues music is played every Sunday according to the waitress. I loved that and look forward to returning to enjoy music and a sit down meal. read more

Where to start. After reading the online history and then recalling how good their old restaurant was in Rosemont, we decided to try this place. We went on a Saturday evening and while it wasn't very busy, the service lagged. I can forgive slow service at times IF the food is good. While all the descriptions of the food sound great, it was definitely lacking appeal. The loaded potato soup came out and resembled lumpy brown oatmeal. I've never seen potato soup like that. Didn't taste good at all. Another dish we tried was the brisket. That too was not good and was tough. (Our server, to her credit, did remove this from our tab) I had the broiled codfish, which was ok, but came with one potato pancake and some overcooked green beans. The fish was ok but not the potato pancake. Not a good value for the price. Another member of our party had a basic cheeseburger which was alright. The decor is very old and in need of an update. Could use a good cleaning. I am convinced the addition of gambling machines and cheap drinks draws most of the patrons in this neck of the woods. The building exterior is in rough shape and the parking lot needs more lighting. We left feeling unsatisfied and not wanting to return. read more

A Nice surprise! Stopped here on our way back from Lake Geneva. Their feature menu item is a stuffed hamburger and I will say it was so much better than expected. The burgers are huge. The meat is fresh, I am not sure, but I think they grind it there. The onion rings are also really good; hand dipped and battered. Great fries. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Saturday night, really hungry. Never been to Richmond. Read the restaurant history online Heuer family, Leyden township, Great I used to work at Gottlieb Hospital, drove Leyden all the time. Walked in 2 big rooms empty. Sign said 'wait to be seated' and we did for 3 minutes. No one came. Bar in the rear, behind a big window partition. Two patrons there staring at us. Many tall window partitions. All filthy. Place has not been washed in years, floor was filthy. Windows looking outside were filthy. So we left. Outside was unkept, overgrown, in need of paint, window washing, grass & weed cutting. On outside of building, 2 big 3-way extension cords, running to (I'm guessing here) refridgeration units. Red's is a very unique place. My wife and I visited around 8pm on a Saturday night. We were a little apprehensive walking in, but very glad we did. It's got the old, rustic, route 66 cross country roadtrip sidestop feel. It made us wonder about the building and it's history. I had a stuffed burger and she had a pizza. Both were very good and fairly priced. We both also had a couple of drinks. Mine was a tall for only $5 which is unheard of. She had a few glasses of wine, again only $5 each. Service was pretty good. While it's certainly got a different feel than a more modern restaurant, it's still a place I'd recommend anyone give a try. We'll certainly be back. read more

Pride in the product coming into the dining room and customer service are non-existent at Red's. It took over 45 minutes to get served when there were only 10 people in the dining room. Granted, a group of five were there for a weekly meeting, and their entrees were served at the same time, BUT don't bring out a rotisserie chicken that is so dry that a sip of water was needed to swallow EACH BITE!! Come on, two servers, probably one cook and you felt that a dried up chicken is acceptable? Then we have to argue after taking two bites from that crusty chicken for a reduction in the check? We wanted to try a new place for a fish fry so stopped here. The carpet was filthy- really disgusting. The service started out well, but by the end of our meal the waitress must have forgotten about us. She took our credit card and never came back. We finally had to go retrieve it from the bar (where it had been left unattended) ourselves. Hard to fathom how she forgot us since the place was practically empty other than a group of regulars at the bar. As for the food, the bread was tasty, but the fish and potato pancake were greasy, and the iced tea was made from a powder mix. We left feeling disgusted. Stopped in for the Friday night fish fry. The server was very friendly, but the wait to get drinks, soup, and salad was very long considering they weren't that busy. Once we were done with the soup and salad, the wait was just as long to get our fish. The food was good, but nothing special. Over all, I'd say it was OK, but I wouldn't rush back. My bf had rotisserie chicken and said it was incredible dry, he had taken drinks of water as he was eating to wash it down.The portions are very small. Service sucked big time. Ordered Italian beef sandwiches.The waitress wrote it down came back 20 min. later and said we don't have Italian beef. I wanted to like this place so badly. I bought a restaurant.com gift cert which at least covered one of the overpriced meals. Started with nice fresh salads so I thought there was hope. The vinegar and oil bottles were gooey to the touch. It all went down hill from here. My husband ordered the most expensive steak (porterhouse $23) and I got the queen cut prime rib ($17). The steak was big in diameter but very thin. Cooked VERY unevenly and soooooo tough. The prime rib was very tough as well. I looked for reviews and most said 4 out of 5 stars. The waitress was attentive but we didn't have the heart to tell her the meal sucked. Didn't even eat 1/2 of our steaks...we were starving and rarely leave food on or plates!. Highly disappointed to the point that we were worried we might get sick from the meal. Luckily that didn't happen. read more

The normal specials all week, fish fry, prime rib, etc. I dont normally like prime rib but I was pleasantly surprised and the chef / owner Patrick blackened it for me.
