2 Vienna beef hot dogs and a large order of fries

Outstanding hot dogs and some of the best fries around - served hot! Thank you! We really wanted a hot dog and stopped here. They don't have a drive through, but it's definitely worth the stop to go inside and order the takeout. The restaurant is cute! Old time slot and pinball machines, cozy tables and an older style bar. There is also a side room where blues music is played every Sunday according to the waitress. I loved that and look forward to returning to enjoy music and a sit down meal.

A Nice surprise! Stopped here on our way back from Lake Geneva. Their feature menu item is a stuffed hamburger and I will say it was so much better than expected. The burgers are huge. The meat is fresh, I am not sure, but I think they grind it there. The onion rings are also really good; hand dipped and battered. Great fries. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. The place is rustic and maybe a little kitschy, but think of it as character.

Red's is a very unique place. My wife and I visited around 8pm on a Saturday night. We were a little apprehensive walking in, but very glad we did. It's got the old, rustic, route 66 cross country roadtrip sidestop feel. It made us wonder about the building and it's history. I had a stuffed burger and she had a pizza. Both were very good and fairly priced. We both also had a couple of drinks. Mine was a tall for only $5 which is unheard of. She had a few glasses of wine, again only $5 each. Service was pretty good. While it's certainly got a different feel than a more modern restaurant, it's still a place I'd recommend anyone give a try. We'll certainly be back.

Front dining area. Very homey and comfortable.

Excellent food, service, and decor. I had the ribeye sandwich, the poppers and a malt and all were excellent.

They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.

No one was there except us....the entire night.....weird compared to back in the day. The deck was a little overgrown and we didn't see any ducks. The paddle wheel is now on land and not in the water, but hey, I am sure I don't look the same as I did 20 years ago either. Once we got inside, It was just like old times. Quaint. The service from Barbara could not have been more personable and attentive. We truly enjoyed her! She mixed a wicked Brandy old fashioned and was quick, but not too quick with her service. The food was all excellent from the relish trays, to the beer cheese pretzel ball and mozzarella sticks. Our dinners ranged from prime ribs...fantastic by the wAy, to meatloaf, butt steak, a burger and ribeye. All were cooked wonderfully. Excellent flavor, fresh salads and nicely prepared potatoes. They prepared a homemade birthday cake. Our entire experience tonight could not have been better in any way. Although it has been 20 years since we were last with you, it will be soon that we return. Don't miss this diamond in the rough!!!
