This is not one of the better Dutch Bros but I am glad it's here. I've found that the barista's ask the same questions to make small talk at every Dutch Bros there is. This company trains them to do this. I saw that episode of Secret Boss where it was the Dutch Bros story of the companies rise to fame, they really do pick a certain type of Surfer/Skier employee. Well the servers are not so over the top forcibly cheerful friendly at this one, but its the coffee that matters not the obsequiousness of the barista. Though this could typically be attributed to the observance that they've downed a few too many of their own brew. The coffee here is just slightly better then most Starbucks. It's not the typical very clear first sip of "What the hell do they put in their coffee to make it this strong yet smooth?" , lovely tasting liquid crack experience I've come to expect from Dutch Bros. read more

I have been going here since they have opened. They are always friendly and I love their coffee. The sad thing is that it is off my radar now because of the new section of the freeway being opened and I want to get to Reno quickly to get a good parking spot at UNR on Mondays. Anyway, my son loves that they put whipped cream on the straw of the kids cup. If you are a local, or only come through once and a while, get a frequent card. With every 10 coffees you buy (including the kids drink), you get one free! They also have awesome stickers. I use the stickers on my water bottles so I can identify mine at student ambassador meetings. I love my Dutch Brothers! read more

Hands down the worst experience I have had getting two cups of coffee. One black, one two creams two sugars. No line, awesome right? Four baristas, awesome right? Drive through, super fast right? Dear gods no. All they wanted to do was talk. Just take my money and give me my damn coffee. So I leave for four minutes and come back. Coffee should be ready right? Nope just more conversation. If I wanted conversation I'd go to a coffee shop. End of story. Went to Starbucks, went inside, two minutes later walked out with coffee in hand to take to my girlfriend for breakfast in bed from Mom & Pops. Better than the fifteen minutes of conversation with no coffee at a drive through coffee. read more

My review is based on several visits (100+) to this Dutch Bros. location. I have not had one bad experience at Dutch Bros. and that's how every business should run! The employees are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about their company and how they should run it, together. If the line is long, they send an employee out to start taking orders from the cars waiting in line. I love this! They can get the drinks rocking and by the time you get to the window, you pay, get your card stamped and zip away. Did I mention even when they get you through that quickly they STILL greet you with a smile at the window? So many places rush, rush, rush and they forget that you're still a customer. Or they think that the other person taking orders greeted you and that was sufficient. Not Dutch Bros! They make sure you feel important and each person acknowledges you. I've had many an interesting conversation in just my few minutes wait. My kids usually get the children's smoothies or the "not so hot" chocolate, which is still hot chocolate by the way, it's just not blazing hot (I thought it was chocolate milk at first by the name, but was assured it was indeed hot chocolate, LOL). Extra whipped cream! I generally get the 911 or the Carmelizer, iced. My husband gets the blended drinks in different varieties and everyone has been pleased with the exceptional quality, flavor and overall deliciousness of the items we order. If I could recommend anything at all, and I know it's a small location so it probably won't happen, but a few more selections or all together different baked goodies throughout the week. I am a baked treat lover and I find myself not getting the options offered because they're limited (which could be a good thing LOL) but then I stop for a treat elsewhere (which is not as convenient because it's not drive through like my DB ;)). If you're looking for a delicious pick me up and still crave the friendliness of the employee who is helping you (has this requirement just been lost these days or what?), go to Dutch Bros., you won't regret your visit! I like to pick up their seasonal coffee cup too, which is always a fair price, super cute and gets your drink discounted on future visits when you bring it to use (which I hardly ever remember but they're still cute!). Oh one more additional snippet - I love that DB is so willing to pair with the community and help local causes/issues/programs. There have been numerous occasions that all or part of my purchase was going to benefit someone other than themselves. This business is an asset to our community as they're not out just for number one and their profit. No wonder their employees are so happy, they're actually appreciated instead of just a paycheck. Also, love that DB opens at 5:00 am and stays open until 11:00 pm. I have never understood coffee joints that open early but then close early. I'm a night owl and generally speaking I need my coffee late at night too! read more

Used to be a lot better! In the last 2 years the over all quality as gone to hell. If you like weak, stale espresso with no flavor at 4.50 a cup then this is your place. Being a coffee person for many years and working for a few better known coffee shops (Java Joe's and Pneumatic Diner) , I've come to expect a lot from coffee houses but this is absolute garbage. Things I've found wrong: #1 Portafilters (the part the espresso goes in) are not cleaned out at all, ever! This results in a very stale burnt flavor. #2 When the employees put espresso in the dirty sludged out portafilters they don't tamp it down. Espresso has to be packed to at least 30 lb's of pressure to get a proper pour. When it's not it results in weak flavor and low caffeine content. #3 They have an auto machine that over pours the shots, your looking between 25 to 30 second pours and most of the time they are averaging 35 to 37 seconds per pour. This results in an over brewed shot that tastes bitter. EXPECT MORE FROM YOUR LOCAL SHOPS AND STOP SUCKING OFF A BUSINESS THAT DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU! read more

I am always stopping here for on the go coffee, they make espresso coffee, like an americano. It is always hot and never bitter and the staff is so friendly. I always go for a Dutch coffee and they know what I want before I get to the window, now that's good service! read more

You can get a pretty large drink for not a lot of money but when I used to go here, the coffee always tasted old or burnt. The staff (which is very friendly) spends more time singing to the radio and chatting with each other than making drinks in a timely manner when there's a long line of cars. read more

When in the mood for a sweet, iced coffee sort of drink, this place is excellent. I generally get the cocomo, which is a chocolate and coconut iced latte. Sweet, rich, smooth, well-balanced, and pleasant. The baristas are usually rocking out to the music blasting inside. Everyone is friendly and happy. 4 stars for being the best coffee in Carson City and having better prices than Starbucks. This is a drive-up only location and franchise hails from Ashland, Oregon. This is the only location in Nevada (to my knowledge). The baristas are usually high school or college aged young people and they do a good job. read more

Used to love this place about 4 months ago. However, since the old people left and all the new kids started working, it has gone down hill. I order the same drink everyday and get charged a different price daily. Also, I have noticed the workers don't really interact with the customers anymore. It was nice to have them say "Hope you have a nice day" or "How's your day going". Oh well, more Dutch Bros are going to pop up here in Carson. Hopefully they will rock it like the old crew. read more
