Omgggg!! Now I know what they hype is all about and I'm glad I got a chance to try their coffee. It's so damn good!! We were in the area so we decided to try. the line was long and it was a hot day, but we didn't wait super long, maybe 10-15 to order and receive our drinks. Gosh, sometimes I don't know how to be a normal person! You know when it's finals time when there are non-stop car lines at Dutch Bros. Before I headed to the library and go study like a typical student, I wanted to grab some coffee before I make my brain cells hurt. As I got there, there was about 2-3 cars ahead of me, and 2-3 cars in their other line. No big deal, I waited with some music blasting. Daydreaming, I was passionately lip syncing Britney Spears. To my shock, I see a Dutch Bros employee at my window ready to take my order. We both laughed it off as I try to remember how to make conversation. She suggested the Annihilator as an iced drink and their monthly special which was their Kicker (Irish Cream Mocha). I went for the Annihilator. When it was my turn to drive up to the window, she was there already with my drink and told me it was on the house! So sweet of her! I honestly was really surprised so I didn't know what to say. Dutch Bros is every college student's life-saver during midterms season and finals week. It's a little stand/shop with a drive through - basically every lazy person's dream, especially when in a rush. You can also walk up to order as well! The drive through line can get a little long sometimes, so be prepared to wait 20+ minutes if you see a long line. The coffee drinks here are so good. They're a little on the sweeter side but that's perfectly fine with me. I love my coffee creamy so I always order the Kicker, iced and with an extra shot if I'm feeling extra tired. If you order a medium for any of the iced drinks, they automatically upgrade you to a large. Pay for a medium, get a large! That's the life. The workers here are always soo friendly and full of energy. I had the worst experience today at this location when the girl taking orders decided to chat with her obvious employee friends in front of us for over 10 min and hold up the hole line behind us which was in the street , while there were 4-5 cars waiting behind us who hadnt had their orders taken yet when the car in front of them pulled away , the car the employees were chatting in did not move up to the unoccupied window. The employee did not seem to have a sense of urgency for taking orders and would much rather chat with her friend. Very frustrating pand I will likely not be back to this location. read more

Their menu has about 10-ish drink options (that can either be hot or cold) and the girl that I ordered from told me her fave was the Annihilator. Trusting her judgment, I ordered the same and I was seriously SO happy. It reminds me of Philz Coffee!! Def. a good find in Davis :) I came on Monday (MLK) and all their medium + cold drinks were $2. I don't know if that's a Monday thing or a holiday thing so.... My bf ordered their version of an Americano and it wasn't impressive. It was really watered down so I'd suggest sticking to their non-coffee menu. I like the drive-thru idea. The service is super friendly (as others have mentioned) and quick! Missed the grand opening day, but stopped in after work this week around 6pm for a pick-me-up to help get through the commute. First-time customer at a Dutch Bros ever, and both the guy and girl working were so upbeat (and the DJ really had some music going), quick with the order, and I got 10 stamps on my Dutch Mafia card. I went with a medium hot Kicker (Irish cream) and it was dee-lish. Dangerously close to my office/onramp...plus I'm intrigued by the other menu offerings (Caramelizer, Annihilator, Cocomo, Double Chocolate, White Mocha) so will definitely come back. I definitely got more than just the caffeinated kind of perk after driving through, certainly put a smile on my face. TL DR: Stop drinking the Starbucks swill you call coffee and drink this. I Really Hate to, but I have to give this place 5 stars. See it surpasses all categories in my complex yelp rating matrix. There are too many thing I take into consideration, so I'll just give you the jist. Convenience: The business is right by the freeway. Drive up to either side and you're in and out in no time. Drinks: The drinks are delicious. I would necessarily say amazing where the eyes roll back into your head, but they are very tasty. The coffee is strong and the drinks are a nice balance of sweet and creamy. I liked the annihilator and next time I'll try the most popular drink, The Kicker. They even have a super Caffeinated drink for when you need to cram for finals. Price: WAY WAY affordable, Since Davis is a college town you can definitely fit this within your budget of ramen noodles and pizza. The prices are about 50ish cents less than Starbucks and shots are around 25 to 35 cents each. I think Starbucks charges 50 cents to 75. Service: The service here was prompt and fast. 2 of the 3 employees had smiles on their face. The guy was very helpful in finding drinks to try while he made my coffee. The Cashier girl had a nice cheery smile. The other girl making smoothies had a slight scowl (maybe she suffers from BRF aka Bitchy Resting Face, it's a thing. youTube it.) With a barista for a boyfriend and my insatiable love of all things caffeinated, Dutch Bros is my (please excuse the blatant offense of Islam) Mecca. I have been here so many times that my "free drink" stamp card collection numbers more than fifteen. Pre-Davis location, Dutch Bros was just a sometimes-treat when I would make an excuse to trek the 10 or so minutes to Woodland and "happen by" one of their two locations. Imagine my excitement/heart attack when this place FINALLY came to Davis. My obsession aside, this is a great, inexpensive place to get your caffeine or drink fix. I used to be an iced coffee only kind of girl at Dutch Bros, but have since tried several of their "less popular" non-coffee drinks. Namely, the following are top notch: Peach Mango Smoothie, Peach Black Iced Tea (peach-mango is also good, but mango only is mehhh), Passion Pomegranate Green Iced Tea, and Cherry Pomegranate Iced Rebel (their Red Bull-esque energy drink). They have a million different flavored syrups from Torani, so the combos are seemingly endless! Realistically I have not had a bad experience here. Fair warning to all of those non-dairy drinkers, though: stay away from their blended coffees (Dutch Freezes) unless you have a Lactase pill or Tums on hand to order it with dairy. From my understanding they use a powdered milk substitute to make that great blended consistency, so making it with soy or coconut milk changes the drink quite a bit. I have a feeling that's what happened to you, Adrian Y :( On another note--I was pleasantly surprised today when one of their employees, a very nice girl, complimented me out of the blue while I was waiting for my drink. Why haven't I been here sooner?!? I pass this drive-through a lot when I go to downtown davis/drive back and forth from sac/bay-area, but I've never tried it out until recently [today is 03/27/14]. My friend told me that they were 24 hours as we passed by on our way to enjoy some Boba drinks after barhopping. After getting out of a late practice (3 a.m.) and finding that my usual Starbucks in West Sac is probably no longer 24-hr, I needed to grab me some caffeine for the drive to the bay. Remembering my friends tip, I decided to check out Dutch Bros! (hopefully people keep reading past this random intro story lol) So ya, luckily these guys were here to supply caffeine at all hours of the day/night. I was going to go for some sort of espresso filled drink for the staying-awake-powers, but after perusing the menu, I came across the Dutch Freeze, which by chance had espresso I was looking for, without the nasty taste of those kind of stay-awake drinks. What this is, is pretty much frozen blended milk-shakey drink with the addition of any flavor. I love me a mocha-frapp, so I went with mocha. This drink is super delicious! The prices aren't bad either. I think about 4.50 for the large and the large is pretty big! In addition to the good drink, the service is crazy good! It was like 3:30 a.m. by the time of my arrival, and the solo worker there still offered enthusiastic service. I wish I caught a name so others would know of this dudes positive attitude, but big ups to that guy! I was also surprised at the speed of the service, It probably took less than a minute after ordering to get my drink and be on my way (unless I was delusional). So yes! Big 5 stars from this guy. After coming back so many times (enough to fill up two of the 10 purchase stamp cards), I regretfully need to remove two stars because of the inconsistency of the drinks. While my first ever Annihilator was so freaking awesome, in the 20+ times I've been back, I've received drinks on wide ends of the tasty spectrum with varied levels of service. While I have received many great drinks, some of the drinks and days that weren't so great really sticks out in my mind. Case in point: 1. Sometimes employees mess up the order, which they always fix with a friendly smile, but I wish they would just get it right the first time. As in light ice when I ask for it, whipped cream when I ask for it, non-fat milk, etc. etc. etc. 2. Coffee was burnt on a few occasions. The Medium Annihlator was so sour and bitter from the burnt coffee that I just couldn't finish (and I usually inhale my coffee) 3. The wait gets to be pretty damn long - 15-20 minutes or so on really busy days, which is amazing because they have four people working in there at any given time. Hm. Overall, I'm starting to get a bit disappointed about Dutch Bros. It's sad when I drive off with my drink, only to realize when I finally take a sip 20 minutes later, that it's burnt coffee or that the order was different. There have also been times when I'm bringing my friends to try their coffee for the first time, and when my friend gets his/her coffee, it turns out to be one of the bad batches (and then my friend start questioning my generally okay taste). I pulled up into their small drive-thru and ordered an iced Annihilator (chocolate macadamia nut coffee). The drink was sweet without being overpoweringly so. I love Dutch bro's. But honestly this location used to be a lot better. I have been here dozens of times, starting on opening day. Employees were so cheerful- the usual Dutch stereotype- but now they take orders like its jack in the box. It makes me not want to ask about recommendations or keep my window rolled down after ordering... Whenever I pull up to the window I am not greeted anymore which is super odd. And the last 3 times I went, my drinks spilled on me because the cup was filled too high before putting the lid on. The girl didn't even say sorry, just handed me napkins. Definitely more unique than your neighborhood starbucks. I love that it's a drive thru, although traffic is common. They have parking spaces available for the "walk-up" window. Most of their drinks use cream/half and half so if you don't like the heavy dairy/milk taste you can always replace it with soy, almond, etc... (yes they have almond milk!) I've pretty much tried the whole menu. I preffer tasting my coffee than it tasting like a cutesy beverage, so I ask for it to be LESS sweet. All their baristas are super nice and very accommodating. I just moved here with my wife from SoCal, and we don't have any coffee places nearly this awesome in LA. The employees at Dutch Bros are simply fantastic. The positive attitudes, enthusiasm, and true happiness that seems to radiate from everyone who's helped us is contagious. Dutch Bros has perky employees who are very, very awake no matter what time of day you go in. For this reason, the service is never bad. The coffee drinks are good, although they are oftentimes too sweet. The nitro cold brew is a gem, though, even without added cream. The smoothies, I feel, are their hidden secret. They're delicious! Especially the mango! My one complaint is that they have a full menu online, and I feel like I'm constantly explaining to the employees what exactly I want, because they've never heard of the "Golden Eagle" even though it's on the website. I do wish they'd train their employees on the full menu if they're going to have one. Best coffee I've had so far. I love this places to pieces! This place is a drive thru with a walk in window (though I am tempted to go through the drive thru with my bike... which probably isn't allowed though). The caramelizer is my to-go drink unless I have the feels for something else. Despite being a sweet drink, the coffee flavor is still there and strong. The broistas there are always super duper friendly and service is usually really fast. This place is perfect whenever I have late night studying since it's opened 24 hours. Also, whenever there's a special, you'll always find me there. Keep your eyes on the dutch bros monthly calendar for yummy deals!
