they literally gave me half of a drink :( for reference, i always mix my foam into my latte before i drink any of it, bc i like the way the ube foam and vanilla mix to make the latte creamier. when i got my latte i noticed it was oddly light, but figured it was the foam.... well it *was* the foam... almost entirely foam actually. and yes, this picture was 100% taken before i took a single sip out of it (which was also bitter and did not taste anything like the normal ube/vanilla mixture) so i definitely just paid full price for half a drink :// i normally really enjoy my drinks here, but unfortunately this is not the first time this specific barista (who's name i did not catch) has made me a drink missing ingredients, or just generally poorly made. might just have to start checking who's on bar before i order coffee. read more

One of the baristas at Peet's Coffee recommended the caramel macchiato, and I'm really glad I tried it. I swapped in almond milk instead of whole milk, and it was honestly really good. I got a medium, and it was actually pretty filling. It was a little hard to finish, but it definitely kept me going throughout the day, which I appreciated. I highly recommend trying the caramel macchiato, especially if a barista suggests it. I'm also open to trying more drinks based on their recommendations because this one did not disappoint. read more

Stopped by this Peet's Coffee recently and it was a very typical experience, for better and worse. First off, there's no bathroom, which is always a bit of a letdown if you're planning to hang out for a while. On the plus side, the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming, which made ordering easy and pleasant. I tried the Dubai-style coffee drink out of curiosity. It was definitely on the pricey side, and while it sounded exciting, the pistachio cold foam ended up being pretty mediocre and didn't really justify the cost. Not bad, just underwhelming. The space itself is big, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of room to sit, and there's lots of parking available, which is a huge plus and makes this location very convenient. Overall, this is a pretty standard Peet's Coffee. Nothing terrible, nothing amazing -- just a reliable stop if you're in the area and want what you already expect from Peet's. read more

I go here frequently to get a quick pick-me-up on my way to work. Prices are generally fair, though they're definitely higher for their seasonal menu, and service is usually fast and reliable. If you're in a rush, I would recommend ordering ahead so you can just run in, but if you have a few minutes, it's a great place to sit and take a break. I like how relaxing the window stools are - you can see lots of people walking by on their way to the other stores in the plaza. read more

I love Peet's Coffee! And today is a perfect example as to why. Greeted by a great big smile from Jake at the cash register. Such a nice guy. Makes eye contact and even though it is busy...talks to you like you are a real person :-). As a matter of fact, Jake and the other two Baristas were just so friendly, patient and pleasant. Bennett helping Jake out with all the peeps... and there was a line! And Joe working the machines! There are two Peet's coffee shops in Davis. This one in the marketplace at the west end of Davis. And the one in downtown Davis. To me there is a big difference between the two locations. This one is clean and has a nice patio and all the Baristas seem to be happy :-). For some reason the downtown location just seems dirty and dark to me. With a lot of weird people :-). And always so crazy busy which makes sense because it is downtown. Anyway this is just a short and sweet review and a shout out to the three guys rocking it today at the marketplace Peet's! People notice when Baristas are special and you guys are special! Stick with the drip coffee. I've been a customer here for 8 years. They have never understood the difference between a latte and a cappuccino. If you order a cappuccino, you will receive a very milky latte, really just hot milk with a splash of espresso. You can order it "dry" or add two extra shots, but you will receive hot milk with only a bit of added espresso essence. After 8 years, I can only conclude that it is a training issue, that the baristas have never been trained properly about espresso drinks. These days the focus is on sugary iced coffee drinks, and traditional espresso and cappuccino has disappeared from what was a great Peet's. read more

I came on National Coffee Day (September 29th) to enjoy 25% off beans and a free drip coffee. I usually buy Peet's Brazilian varieties at Nugget, but since this outpost did not stock any Brazilian beans I went with the cashier's recommendation: Cafe Domingo, another medium roast coffee. She ground it fresh in store and it smells heavenly! I didn't order any food items, but the case held plenty of tempting treats. I enjoyed my drip coffee, the limited edition Vine & Walnut blend. Though medium roast, it was bold in flavor! The cashier was helpful and kind. The space is a little cramped and gloomy inside, but I found a corner to work in while I finished my coffee. We arrived early to my son's lacrosse game against the Davis Blue Devils so we found Peet's nearby at the Marketplace to grab a drink. It was rather quiet inside and service was okay. No smiles. The workers were just chatting amongst themselves as I placed my order for an iced white chocolate mocha. Before we left, I asked if there was a restroom I could use. Right on the corner as you enter the shopping plaza, it's hard to miss this Peet's location. Plus, the festive pig statues out front also catch your eye. If it's a lovely day outside, take advantage of the plentiful outdoor seating. Otherwise, hope there's a space inside, which is unlikely as finals approach! The whole area feels more spacious when Noah's bagels is open. Parking is pretty much guaranteed since it's such a large lot to accommodate all the shops. As today was a very cold day and also the beginning of December, I went with one of their holiday specials: the dark chocolate orange mocha. The chocolate flavor was rich and dark, but not too dark, with just the faintest hint of orange - I wish there had been more. The whipped cream on top was thick and creamy. I'd recommend ordering your drink in one of their "for here," real mugs if you're going to sit for a bit. Holiday drinks are listed on the far right of the menu wall, near where you pick up your drinks, which makes it really hard to find. Options include pumpkin spice, peppermint mocha, eggnog, and a holiday spice latte. I was helped by two very nice baristas who gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted to order. They have milk substitutions, for those interested in non-dairy options. Overall, Peet's makes great, dependable coffee drinks, with a few distinct drink options that are different from Starbucks (for example, drinks with coconut or orange flavor), but this location is hit or miss as far as seating and the lack of a public restroom is unfortunate. read more

I used to love Peet's... but today's order almost made me get sick. It was awful. I ordered a honey oat iced latte which tasted so bitter, no honey flavor at all. I know it isn't supposed to be overly sweet but it tasted so bitter, unsweet and reminded me of play dough. I also made the grave mistake of ordering the vegan plant based breakfast sandwich. I took one bite and could barely chew it, so salty and gross tasting. The last thing I ordered was the feta and spinach egg bite and this was ridiculously salty as well. 20 bucks down the drain... not sure what has happened to Peet's but I don't think I'll be ordering breakfast or coffee for that matter from here for a while! GO AGAIN? Yes, but I HATE the high stools because my legs are too long to be comfortable on the rung and too short to reach the floor while sitting. And, they have no backs! Always helpful service, great location next to Noah's (although their service and food has gone downhill) and Safeway, LOVE their coffee. Any drink I've had there I haven't regretted. My only thing is the price! It's so hefty! Wish they had better deals than just buy 1 get 1 free on Fridays from 1-3 when no one wants coffee. Make a rewards program so you can have people repeat customers! Peet's Coffee has always been my top choice when it comes to getting hot brew coffee or other espresso drinks. Due to it's location, which is close to where I live, every time I come into the store, there's always line and it takeS awhile to get my order ~ around 5mins++ waiting time since there's only 1 counter available or sometimes they do have 2 counters open but not often. Typically, the espresso drinks took me around 10mins++ of waiting time and I usually ordered it when I was not in the rush. For the hot brew coffee, it usually came out pretty fast for me and I loved their medium roast. It occurred to me twice that they forgot my order for hot brew coffee -- I had to remind them. In any case it occur to you, let them know -- don't wait! The staffs are friendly and nice. The store has a few available tables and free WIFI. This store doesn't have restroom -- you have to walk to Safeway for the closest available public restroom. read more

Love the people here recommended something light and with the taste of dark chocolate without the extra calories. Basically EVA recommended a skinny vanilla latte with cocoa powder. This has non-fat milk and cocoa powder has less calories then putting the dark chocolate flavor. I was so happy with my drink it was hot and just enough sweetness but to taste the delicious coffee that I wanted. I can't remember if she added an extra espresso shot but man it was good. Nice ladies there and quick to serve us but we were also there early and most people were in line for the Noahs Bagel section on the other side. This review is long over due! I started coming to this peets a few months ago and love it! Everyone makes my drinks so fast and are very friendly. Joe in particular is amazing. He is so informed on coffee beans and hustles, I'm in and out in no time. Every-time I pick up beans I leave learning more about coffee in general. The food is okay and drinks are fine, it's what to expect from a chain. The employees here mostly amazing and everyone is really nice! The store is nice as well and has lots of charging stations so it's perfect for those who need to study. My main issue with the store is the manager. She seems like a nice individual but I am disheartened by her immaturity and lack of professionalism. I love this Peet's Coffee for studying!! The wi-fi is solid, there a good number of outlets, plenty of seating, and better drinks than Starbucks. They also have a nice patio space, which is nice when the weather is good. This Peet's closes a little earlier than I like which makes me go to Starbucks more. I love Peet's coffee. It's the richest, most balanced, most deeply satisfying brewed coffee I've ever had (aside from Peet's in Berkeley). While I enjoy a good latte now and then, Peet's brewed coffee is hard to beat. Compared to the Berkeley shops, this one is smaller and doesn't feel quite as upscale, but I still love the vibe especially with the outdoor seating and Noah's bagels attached. My experience with the staff has always been excellent. Very friendly and professional. 1/6/18 update: My dad told me a story... Before the first Peet's shop opened in the 60's, my dad remembers drinking Peet's coffee from a little cart that Mr. Peet would push around on the UC Berkeley campus. He remembers the first cafe that opened on Vine Street in Berkeley. My dad has been drinking Peet's exclusively for over 50 years. Major Dickinson's is his favorite blend, and it's the one I was brought up on. It's my favorite too. read more

For me, Peet's Coffee is a treat. Their coffee is the strongest i've had and possibly one of the best. I usually go to Starbucks for my caffeine fix. On my last day of finals back in 2005, i had just finished a final and i hadn't slept for over 24 hours. I decided that Peet's would be the perfect treat for me as i drive home for the short end of the quarter break. With an hour and a half drive ahead of me, i knew that i needed a strong cup of joe and Peet's would be my savior. I asked Desiree to run in and get a cup for me seeing how i was never going to get a parking spot since the damn parking lot is sooo full. 5 minutes later she come back with a cup of coffee that is RIDICULOUSLY full and a lid that didn't fit the cup. Having not slept, I was the biggest bitch you could ever find in Davis. I, of course, was irritated because the coffee was going to spill everywhere when i went over the speed bumps to get out of the parking lot. Desiree informed me that they had run out of lids for my size. How do you run out of lids? Are people grabbing more that 1 lid for their cups? Why are they not prepared and supplied with extra lids? Anyhoo.... already irritated, i try geting out of the parking lot. I still have the coffee in hand. It is scalding hot and i'm trying to drink it so that its not so full. As i'm driving up to the first speed bump i notice that a lady wanted to cross but i knew that if i braked, i would have scalding coffee all over my hands and legs. So i continued on, driving really slow to get over the bump carefully. Out of the corner of my eye, i see that the lady at the crosswalk ON THE SIDEWALK had given us a "you bitches are lucky you didn't hit me" look. She wasn't even in the street yet. I didn't HAVE to let her dumb ass cross. Well, that was the straw that broke this camel's back. Not only did i suddenly stop the car. spilling my coffee everywhere... I literally lunged across the passenger seat with Desiree in it and yelled obscenities to the lady outside my car. She was NOT pleased but the names i had called her made her embarrassed and angry. Not only had i stopped traffic by stopping my car but i also stopped people dead in their tracks with shocked faces. Desiree started to slump down in her seat to avoid others seeing her in the same car as me. Not my proudest moment but i to this day have no regrets. That bitch should have just been patient. But... back to the coffee. It was strong and perfect my trip home. I was even less cranky after the coffee, but that lidless day really dropped their rating for me. read more
