I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Teaspoon Davis already. I used to come here all the time when I went to college and would stop by 2-3x a week on my walks home. I came by Teaspoon again a few days ago while in Davis for Picnic Day and I am happy to say that it's as good as it was before. The menu is smaller than other boba places, but each drink I've had here has been good. I love a blend of strong tea flavor and not overly sweetened milk tea, which is what they have to offer! My go-to drinks are their house milk tea or liquid gold, and when I want something fruity, I opt for their lychee black tea (aka lychee on lychee). I suggest getting the drinks half sweet if you don't want your drinks too bland but also not too sweet. The staff here has always been local college students who offer kind and speedy service. I'm never in here more than a few minutes unless I'm ordering a lot of drinks. It's small inside the store so if there's a lot of people in line, it's best to wait outside. It's not really a place to sit down and chat, but to take your drink to go which is fine since it's located downtown. read more

We dropped in on the way back from a scout trip with 5 scouts and one adult. Everyone got different drinks. My daughter got a caramel drink with boba and lychee (not a combo that makes sense to me), and she liked it. I had a Vietnamese frappe. It was quite tasty and the boba were good quality. The previous time we dropped in on a long drive, I had the taro lover. It was not as taro as I would have liked. Good but not over the top good. Great spot for a grab and go boba. The place is so cute literally a hole in the wall haha (Not in a bad way at all). Note that there is no seating so you just order at tablet or with staff and grab and go~ My current obsession drink at Teaspoon is the Matcha Royale with mango. Omg the drink is just perfect. Im an all time fan favorite of teaspoon. I always order their new drinks and usually I'm very satisfied except for one reoccurring factor, sweetness. Their varying levels of sweetness for the drinks is something that always throws me off when ordering a new drink. I never know how the sweetness will be since some drinks are extremely sweeter than others, even without the toppings. I think keeping the consistency of sweetness levels between the drinks would be a big level up. The service is always prompt and their teas are good quality. I personally don't mind that there isn't any seating but if you are looking for a coffee shop vibe that wouldn't be the place for you. read more

if I could give zero stars I would!!! severely disappointed in my experience here. I ordered on DoorDash and both drinks were made wrong. I had to drive down there myself and confronted the worker that was there. For one drink I ordered strawberry splash and received what she said to be just the syrup and the other one I had a mango splash and she said she didn't put any in. During the confrontation she was wildly unprofessional there was no apology she just took the drinks told us what happened and then threw the old ones away and then restarted. I normally have never had any problems here and is one of my favorite places to go but unfortunately I will not be coming back for a while as I'm just severely disappointed in my experience today. Stopped in for the first time here. It's a small shop but super friendly staff. While I was ordering, I overheard 2 separate customers ask to remake their drinks. This cute place is located in downtown Davis and as soon as I entered, we were immediately greeted by kindness. I ordered the Caramel cream and it was so delicious and refreshing -- perfect for any occasion and especially on a warm day. They had a few snack options as well which included macarons. I know I would come back and try different drinks off the menu and of course, grab myself some macarons. This is a very small space with not much room. However, the neat thing is that they have a website with their full menu -- you can order ahead and select the day/time that works for you to pick up, they have kiosks upon walking in so you can order that way or you can order with the employee. Decent boba, their pearls have a great brown sugar flavor and it's more on the softer side. However I'd say the prices of the drinks are a bit expensive considering to me it's average decent boba. Their Thai milk tea was a bit too sweet and was not adjustable, but overall it is decent. Probably more of a last resort boba place for me! read more

Came here in a Thursday afternoon around 2:30pm. It was easy to find its right across the movie theater. Walked in it was a cute little shop. The menu was big and wide on a television screen. You can do self order or walk up to the counter and place an order there we decided to walk up and talk to someone. Was warmely greeted by the gentleman behind the counter, I had questions about the menu, what was popular and what was preferred. I got my husband the classic Thai tea with no Boba, for myself, I got a iced milk honey jasmine green tea and a Vietnamese coffee latte. Everything was made so fast sealed in it to me in a bag. I got the ladybug after I told her I love passion fruit and she recommended I add passion fruit popping boba and the honey boba which tasted so good! Although a smaller location with no inside seating options, the staff were very friendly and my drink was turned around pretty quickly after ordering. I've been here twice now and this is one of the best boba tea shops in Davis. You get to choose from so many different varieties even with just oolong: roasted oolong, honey oolong, and rose petal oolong among them. I love tea and really appreciate all of these variations. There are also decaf options like Rooibos, which I haven't tried yet, but I'm glad it's here for when I don't want caffeine. Do note that it is a small shop and there is no place to sit. If I need to sit and do work, I might go to either Share Tea or i-Tea (my two other favorites in town), but for true quality tea, Teaspoon hands down wins. Coming from socal where boba shops were plentiful, I had to try at least one decent boba location before heading back. Friend recommended that I check out teaspoon so that's why I came here. Nested in the heart of downtown Davis it was a small location that doesn't have any sit down area so this location is just a take out location. The line wasn't long the day I went and ordering was quick. I ordered one of their new menu items the White Crystal drink because I was heading to catch a flight and didn't want any milk tea to potentially upset the trip. Normally I could compare basics trying milk tea and judging based on basics. But their fruity drink was quite pleasant and not overly sweet and great for the warmer weather so I would come back again and try other drinks on the menu. read more

Honestly when I first saw the prices, I was a bit iffy because I know some places with a lower price. But after getting it, its quality is definitely worth it. I grabbed a bunch of drinks because I was craving boba, Teaspoon was the only one immediately in my vicinity when I needed some for work, and I needed some motivation for the next day. I was worried about the boba going hard in the fridge, but it's still SUPER SOFT the next day. Before anyone kicks me for refrigerating boba, sometimes it's a need for the next day. I'm impressed about how soft it is still. As for the drinks, one was a matcha drink and one was their regular milk tea. Both have perfect amounts of sweetness, they weren't too sweet, but enough to help give you that refreshing feeling. I need to go here more often. read more

Teaspoon is hands down my favorite boba place in Davis. The store itself is small and somewhat hidden. It's a grab-and-go shop which I don't mind. When you walk in, you immediately get that sweet boba store smell which is very pleasant. The workers are very friendly and welcoming. Anytime I asked for their personal recommendations, they always gave honest and detailed responses which I loved. The honey boba pearls are very soft and has a good sweetness to it. I've been here a few times, and the one drink that keeps bringing me back in the Silky Mango, but everything about the drink has brought Teaspoon to the top of my list. If you love mango, this is the drink for you. Here are the rest of my thoughts on some of the drinks I've gotten: Liquid Gold (2/5) -- Many people like this drink and if you are a huge fan oolong tea it might be the drink for you, but I thought it was average and basic. Lychee on Lychee (4/5) -- A nice refreshing drink if you like lychee. I'm only giving it 4 stars though because I have my own bias for lychee tea. Mango Matcha Royale (4/5) -- The drink was really good, but I thought it could have used more mango. My housemate absolutely loves the Matcha Royale drink itself though. Silky Mango (5/5) -- Gold star! This drink is so addicting. Violet Latte (1/5) -- A seasonal drink. I was quite disappointed since I love ube. The drink just tasted sweet, and that was all the "flavor" there was to that. Some people say Teaspoon is on the pricier side which I could see considering it is $6-7 a drink. That's about the average price for boba nowadays though, and Teaspoon is top tier quality compared to other local boba shops in my opinion. There were 3 other parties already waiting for their order and there is no indoor seating not outdoor seating. Interior aesthetics were nice. Online menu is super clutch with photos and description! Ordered the dirty ube, Thai tea with boba, and lady bug all with no ice, regular sweetness, and oat milk (first 2). All drinks came out cool (no ice needed) and not too sweet (perfect didn't have to adjust sugar). Dirty ube lacked ube flavor tho it was more coconut dominant. Still good but a bit disappointing 7.5/10. Thai tea had no complaints just solid and boba was made well. A good chewiness and sweetness to it so 8/10 for the drink not super amazing.
