I've got really mixed feelings about the Dutch Bros chains. They've got a cult following and while I can appreciate the vast drink options, I've got a few issues with how their setup runs. The first time I ever went to a Dutch Bros, I went to the Dixon location. I'd never been before and asked for a menu as I'd heard about all of their drink options. They didn't have one, except for what you see when you pull up. No flavor combinations listed. No list of flavors. Nothing. When I ask what kind of flavor combinations they have, I got a list of names like I'm supposed to know what was in them. I literally said forget it, ordered a plain americano, and that was it. I tried pulling their online menu up while I was in the drive thru but I couldn't get service and I didn't want to hold the line up. Guys. You need hard copies of your drink menu for people to look at. Especially for people that have never been there. I got my average americano and five minutes after ordering and leaving, I was finally able to pull up their menu online. I'm super irritated I didn't have a menu to look at the first time and got a super lame, super average drink when I could've tried something they were known for. This time, I'm at the Davis location. My drink was good. Nothing amazing. Nothing to go out of my way for. But it was enjoyable. Fast forward to this morning. I need some caffeine and food. I order a bagel toasted, with cream cheese. I get handed a package with a cold, uncut bagel and a single squeeze packet of cream cheese. What? I ask if they are able to at least heat it up but nope. You guys are a drive through. I'm eating my breakfast in the car on the way to work about 2/3 of the time. It's not easy - or safe for that matter - to try and cut a cold bagel with a plastic knife and slather a measly packet of cream cheese on there while driving. I get that you're not a bakery, but come one. I feel like that one got overlooked a little bit. Why bother offering a cold, uncut bagel in a drive thru-only model? Better off not even bothering with the food to begin with. If I want breakfast with my coffee, which happens often, I won't be going to Dutch anymore. read more

Just had such a rude encounter with an employee there. It was my friend's first time at Dutch Bros and he didn't know what he wanted. I told the girl in the red that we needed some time and she looked at us so rudely. I asked for a White Russian and when the drinks came out, she said sorry for the long wait and gave us a drink and said "nutty Irishman". My friend CONFIRMED with her that it was a White Russian and she said "oh yeah, White Russian." It was clearly a nutty Irishman and not my drink. Felt like she wanted us out of the drive thru. Ok..So my friend and I were on the way to SF and as I went to the trunk I dropped my phone after we made our order of an iced small blended cocomo(which was amazing) and an iced small blended caramelizer(4/5).. We made it to SF. Assuming I still had my phone we walked around and then a worker from Dutch bros. called my friend saying that they had my phone. Haters gon' hate on Dutch Bros. Seriously, the drinks are always consistent whenever I swing by here and the workers are never less than energetic and friendly! It doesn't matter if it's in the Davis location or any of it's NorCal locations, but DB is my to-go coffee spot! Try the Iced Carmelizer, it's definitely one of the most memorable drinks on the menu. P.S. If you never tried DB before, tell the workers and drink is on the house! So I am writing this review at like 4 am because I can't fall asleep, and I was like "damn, this stuff really works, I have to write a review." (bit hyper too, yay) Pros: -Open 24 hours -Super friendly staff :) -Fast service -Super delicious drinks that actually can help you stay up all night -Large size iced drinks for a price of a medium -Flat price (tax included) -3 windows to serve drive -thru and walk-up customers Cons: -No small or medium size available for iced drinks? (probably the reason why I drank too much coffee, and now... awake) -Sometimes the drive-thru line is too long and takes too much of your time (I just go to the walk up window and get my drinks fast) Here are some of the drinks I've tried: -Iced Cocomo: I didn't really taste the coconut, and the drink is too sweet for my taste. Maybe I will try skinny next time. -Skinny Mocha Blended: It was pretty good, I guess. Since it took me so long time to drink it, the ice melted and it was weird texture. -Iced Skinny Mocha: Maybe I will ask for lite-ice or just a normal mocha because the taste was bland after awhile. -Iced Annihilator: Again didn't taste any macademia nut or whatever, it pretty much tasted like the Cocomo to me -Hot Caramelizer: Definitely my favorite! I feel like the baristas are dancing while they're making their drinks, but it's still on point. I always get the double torcher cuz I need my coffee HIGH in caffeine. It's pretty much a 3-4 shot espresso mocha latte. Pretty deadly aye? Taste good though. Their cocomo is pretty on point, for you coconut lovers. Anyhow, more than anything, the service here is AMAZING. The people have so much energy, they're nice and friendly, and their so courteous. I have to say I'm actually really disappointed I am a regular who comes in practically everyday and usually I'm super happy with Dutch Bros and their quick service, but I just ordered a shark attack and instead got this odd concussion that didn't even taste or look remotely like the drink I ordered and it actually ended up looking and tasting worse after it melted. Attendant was helpful at this location as it was my first time. She asked me questions to what kinda coffee I liked and how I liked it; which she recommended a drink type. I would much rather prefer Dutch Bros over any other drive through coffee shop. I have been to countless locations from here to Oregon. They usually brighten my morning with fun music, quick service and good conversation with the people working. The Davis location however, does not leave me with a positive note ever (and I stop by frequently). The awkward overusage of the iPad minimizes the personable interactions you would normally get at the window. I constantly get asked to stop 5ft from the window when there are no other customers just so they can take my order. It does not even save on time so I always leave confused and uncomfortable. read more

Here's the thing about Dutch Bros: They're convenient as hell and their staff and customer service are top-notch - best anywhere, ever. Go Dutch Bro, go. You're awesome. Completely unparalleled. Here's the other thing: Their coffee is decent, their blended drinks are meh sugar bombs, and they're (in my opinion) a little tiny bit pricy for what you get. Would I return? Absolutely. Again and again. AND I DO. They are just so damn nice. And it's good enough for what you get. But the whole experience is just so pleasant and lovely - they're clearly doing something right. Their coffee menu is no where as intimidating as the 'bucks but you can customize and they don't seem to even care! Last visit I was torn between a chai and their pumpkin breve. I've been frequenting Dutch Bros ever since it opened up in Davis! I always love the weekly, monthly, and finals week specials they have because its gives me an excuse to go there. Coffee here is more expensive than the coffee at the Coho and is roughly on par price-wise with Starbucks, but it's my favorite place in Davis because their drinks are strong. I have a high tolerance for caffeine and the coffee at other places doesn't keep me awake. Whenever I need to stay up late to study I always know a trip to Dutch Bros is in my immediate future. I always get the ER-911 because it has 6 shots of espresso in it. For those of you who don't want to stay up all night with the jitters, a lot of my friends get the Double Torture (3 shots of espresso) or the Kicker (1 shot of expresso). Warning though... if you don't like sweet drinks, you're in for a terrible surprise. All the drinks on the "Dutch Classic" menu are made with so many sugary "mixes" and syrups in addition to regular sugar. You can ask them to not add any sugar, but the mixes still make the drink sweet. You can also ask for your drinks to be hot, iced, or blended. Blended drinks are so addictive because they're easier to drink than hot drinks, but I feel like the blended version of drinks aren't as strong as their hot counterparts. The people that work in that small booth are always super enthusiastic when I visit and they always have a kind word. If it's late, they'll always ask what I'm up to or what I'm studying for, and when I'm about to drive away they always wish me good luck. Their enthusiasm is infectious! read more

Dutch Bros Coffee, rebels, teas all taste pretty good. Not many complaints besides when I get teas, iced coffee, iced rebels 75% of it is just ice. And if you ask for light ice the cup is half empty. I don't think you get enough drink for your buck. read more

Dutch Bros is my go to coffee stop when I am in a rush, on the go, or looking for a late night pick me up! They are the most friendly and positive baristas, and there has never been a time where I haven't left Dutch Bros drive thru without smiling! Usually when I pull in I am not the happiest person because I'm usually getting coffee to stay up studying for a final/midterm etc. They truly cheery you up and genuinely care how your day/night is going and what your plans are! As far as the coffee goes, its delicious and reasonably priced! Their drinks are definitely more on the sweet side though. I sometimes get a blue raspberry blended rebel, which is like a red bull but with flavoring! And when I am in the mood for coffee I get a blended white chocolate caramelizer! Both are amazing and I switch off between them depending on my mood! This place is so great that they give you a free drink when it is your first time trying out the place, I remember when they did that for me and I immediately loved the place for their great customer service! They also do stamp cards so every 10 drinks, you get a free drink of any size for free! Hubby and I dropped off our son for his Davis orientation and stopped by since we had some time to kill. We ordered a large iced white mocha and the young man working this morning recommended a blended mocha caramel drink since I couldn't decide what to have ( Our total was around $9 ). I ordered the 24 oz and it was gone in 5 seconds...(not even kidding- I'm a guzzler). The customer service was excellent just like their coffee! 24 hour drive-through coffee at your convenience, wOohooOoo! Dutch Bros is always there for me when I'm craving for something sweet that's not purchasable at grocery stores during late hours. Sometimes, or shall I say during midterm/final waves, the line can get SUUUUPER busy which can be a PITA (pain in the a**) since the lot they're located in isn't really that big. Anyways, prices are affordable and sometimes they even offer special deals! Once, I waited "too long" for my drink so they gave it to me for free! Service is friendly and the staff really seem to enjoy working there. Without hesitation, I always get their chai tea latte, which is one set size. It's not anything special but for some reason it just tastes better here. I've tried other drinks too and they're a bit sweet...but I'm sure you can ask for less sweetened.
