This is a very clean environment. Obviously an aged café but worth stopping in at. I thoroughly enjoyed my hamburger. And the customer service was very good.

Looks great! Let you know how the food is in an hour!

What a great hidden treasure! Home made food, and a great atmosphere. Adorable (very good) artwork, old-school diner decor elsewhere & an awesome friendly staff. What a lovely retreat for a quick, yummy breakfast or lunch! We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be going back again! Btw I chose the "OH MY COD" for my dinner and it was SO GOOD! A really nice piece of cod with delicious rice and shredded veggies. I give it 5 stars too!

Our first visit to the Lost Lion definitely won't be our last. Braydn was our server, and her…read moreservice was exceptional. Another food runner also deserves recognition because he was incredibly motivated and on top of everything. Their timing was perfect. Braydn seemed to intuitively know exactly when to check on us, refill our drinks, and ask if we were ready to order. She was genuinely friendly and looked like she truly enjoyed her job, which always makes for a better dining experience. We sampled a few cocktails, and my White Cosmo was absolutely delicious! For dinner, I ordered the Oh My Mahi, and "oh my" was exactly my reaction. The moist mahi mahi was served over a bed of saffron rice and topped with an Asian slaw. There were so many layers of flavor, and every bite depended on how you attacked it. I started by dragging my fork through the hoisin sauce and picking up some rice, fish, and slaw all together. The temperature and flavor combinations were remarkable with the hot saffron rice with just a hint of hoisin, the fresh, flaky fish, a pop of ginger, then the cooler, crisp crunch of carrots, cabbage, red onion, red pepper, and I think spinach. Every bite was different, the presentation was beautiful, and the meal was simply amazing. My husband ordered the Papa Burger, a clever play on "jalapeño popper." It featured two flavorful patties topped with bacon, jalapeño jelly, cheddar, cream cheese, sautéed onions, and fresh-cut fries. I stole one bite...then another...then a third! I'm officially renaming it the "Oh My Poppa Burger" because it may have been the best burger I've ever tasted. That says a lot because I'm a traditionalist when it comes to burgers. I'm not even a bacon fan. Yet somehow this combination just worked. What is in that cream cheese, bacon, and jalapeño jelly combo that make this burger so ridiculously good? Next time I'm in a burger mood, I am coming here! But everything looked so good so I may be back before that burger mood strikes. The only reason I'm giving Lost Lion four instead of five stars is that my husband would have loved to add a simple slice of tomato and some lettuce. We were hesitant to ask because we know substitutions can snowball, and we quickly got the impression that the chef preferred not to alter the menu as written. He didn't even dare ask for a side of ranch for the fries after this. If small additions like lettuce or tomato were an option, even for a small upcharge, it would make an already fantastic burger even better for some. That said, between the outstanding service, creative and delicious food, excellent cocktails, and warm ambiance on a Thursday evening, The Lost Lion made a wonderful first impression. We'll definitely be back.

July 2026 update: A second visit to Glyndon Grill was again great but also surprising:…read more What was great: the creamy crab soup, the intrinsic value of the restaurant week lunch package and the service. Everything all of us ate exceeded expectations and also represented a fine value, but the creamy crab soup was truly special. What was surprising: That the restaurant was nearly empty on a summer Tuesday. Yes it was hot out and a weekday. Still, based on the cuisine and experience, they deserve to be packed always. We had made a reservation that in hindsight, we did not need. What else was a little surprising: the staff charitably offered to split our check without even being asked. So often such a request is greeted with sighs or worse. Little things mean a lot! ***** A lunch reservation required on a weekday? Really. At Glyndon Grill, unless you are arriving by say 11:45am, the answer seems to be a resounding yes. By the time we left at 12:30pm, not a speare table was seen. And Glyndon Grill deserves its popularity. What makes a lunch spot (they are open for dinner too) so very popular. Adjacency to the always-popular-and-stellar Santoni's Market cannot hurt, not can the upscale neighborhood, but come for the food and service. I was focused on health-conscious fare, the the menu offered a diversity of intriguing choices. My premixed (with dressings on the side) Cobb Salad was wonderful. I could choose just how much of the mouth-watering fried chicken morsels I did and did not ant to eat, calorically. My tablemate, also watching pounds and inches, got the grilled salmon with broccoli. Neither could have been better. Best of all was our waitress Anne. Ask for her by name. Supreme professionalism dripped from her every word and action. Attentiveness and pleasant without being obtrusive at all. Yes she probably wanted to turn the table (but you could not tell unless you intuited that fact), and we accommodated because her happiness made us happy too.

There was a brunch menu, so they didn't serve all dinner items but the menu was very good with a variety of breakfast and lunch selections. Everything was good! During our visit we heard several birthday cheers, noticed a retirement gathering and for us it was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. To our surprise, the restaurant created a special dining menu noting our last name and our celebration. I was taken back with that gesture and acknowledgment although it's a testament to the service and care you will experience. This venue and team do the little thing right and will exceed expectations! Regarding the service, it was second to none with multiple staff and waiters at your side. The Smokehouse offers several dining options and host large parties and even weddings. The restaurant is huge and in associated with the historic Atrium 1844 hotel and property nestled on about 25acres. To the food: There are a few options to order from the menu and if you like wine pairing this is the spot. I chose the pairing option for my duck appetizer, scallop dinner and desert although didn't opt for champagne that complemented the surprise chef offering or my dinner salad. My wife had the beet salad, cod entree, dinner salad and orange cake. Every dish was incredibly prepared with no complaints. I envision the kitchen being hustled like the Netflix series, BEAR with echos of, "yes Chef". This was truly a special dining and something I strongly recommend if it's in your budget. The ambiance of the old early American estate is breathtaking and the piano puts you in a calm for the evening of wonderful indulgence. Again, and my opinion reserve this venue for a special affair. Total bill was $270 minus tip. Sounds crazy but if you have the time and wish to create a special touch to a special occasion, the Smokehouse is a sound choice. Note: reservations were 7:15 and we walked out at 9:45. Might want to consider staying at the Atrium at this point.
