The ambiance was breathtaking (we loved the different locations to eat like the patio, the dungeon, and separate rooms for intimate experiences), the drinks were superb - we both had the Old Fashion. The atmosphere here is outstanding, from the upstairs that's more formal feeling to the downstairs which they called the dungeon, which is very laid-back absolutely beautiful. We prefer the dungeon, but have ate in both sections. The service here is second to none. This is a place where people absolutely love their jobs. What a difference a server makes. This evening Michael was our server and he was phenomenal. The meal was paced correctly and could not have been more delicious. Crab dip best ever, filet served perfectly at medium rare, crab imperial was all jumbo lump. Chicken Oscar amazing, moist tender and topped with jumbo lump crab meat and perfect amount of hollandaise sauce. Michael deserves much credit for turning our opinion from meh to wonderful. The waitress was all over it. I enjoyed vegetables pasta as an entree w/ the house salad and chocolate strawberries for desert. The drinks were great. I must say that there aren't many vegetable, vegan, etc options, however, there are sides and salad that you can choose from. The atmosphere was average. Not very noisy. Very clean and presentable. Cozy atmosphere, exceptional service, & delicious food! Our table had the crabcake sandwich, fish sandwich, cream of crab, & french onion soups. The house-made 'chips' are more like home fries and perfectly crisp and seasoned. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and it was busy but not at all loud or crowded. Thick linen tablecloths/napkins and I LOVE that there is no background music playing. There's just the very low hum of conversation and occasional clink of silverwear. Our daughter did not want a huge wedding reception, so we contacted Jeff, an event coordinator. He was very easy to work with, very accommodating and knowledgeable. The menu we chose was phenomenal and exactly what we wanted. Mateo and Monica were our servers, who, were not only very accommodating, but, I feel, went above and beyond our expectations. They not only were there to serve but they helped set up our decorations and helped pack them up. They remembered what everyone was drinking and kept our glasses filled, while also remembering what everyone ordered. The food was very well prepared and the portions were more than I expected. Who doesn't like a buffet!? Well this review is for those of you who would like a brunch buffet. If that is not your jam then my review is not for you. The restaurant is a converted old colonial mansion. The food was good, the drinks were okay. Overall a pretty good deal if you come hungry but it can be pricey if you are a one-plate person. A decent selection of pastas, meats, breads, soups, salads, fruits, and desserts all included with price of buffet with coffee/tea or juice. You can take on mimosas for a dollar a piece extra. This is a special event breakfast buffet for the average person not a spot for the casual diner unless you can afford it. The food and service at Dutch's Daughter is exceptional. You are not rushed, last Friday night we celebrated a friends birthday, there were 6 of us at the table. We were there almost 2 1/2 hours. The food is a little pricey but worth every penny spent. All 6 of us left there happy and very satisfied. Dutch's is my favorite place to eat. We were in one of formal dining rooms, there are 4 on the 1st floor and 4 on the 2nd floor, plus The Dungeon in the basement. I recently came here for brunch on a Sunday with my family and we had a fantastic time. It was buffet style breakfast/brunch, which I normally will not eat, but this place completely blew my mind! All of the food was fresh and switched out often so it was not sitting under the lights and drying out. There was a lot to choose from; crab meat omelettes, the best French toast ever, a huge dessert menu, regular egg omelettes, sliced prime rib, a salad bar, bacon, etc. The service was exceptional, despite how busy it had been when we arrived. The only thing I felt that needed improvement were the bloody Mary's, which I just switched out with a mimosa instead. (I like when my bloody Mary's come with a side of bacon or other such garnishes.) The coffee that they offered after the meal was delicious, too. I glanced at a menu for their lunch/dinner options, and it seems to be on par with a nice steak house. I can't wait to go back and try their dinner at some point. While a lot of steak houses do the sides a la cart, the steaks at the Dutch's Daughter come with two sides. (Which in this economy and for the prices of nice prime rib, it's definitely appreciated.) The ambiance of the place gave a rustic feel and gave off the appearance that the building had been around for a long time, but it was actually built only 20 years ago or so. read more

In the Dungeon, our group of 9 in for my Grandmothers 95th Birthday, we meet half way with distant family for a get together. Everyone loved their seafood dish and soups. Our waitress was very respectful of my grandmother and did a few unexpected things like call her "mom" as well as was on top of the drinks as soon as they ran out. Plates went away when we set them aside because we were done with them; and while not at the table often, I noticed she was keeping watch over us like a hawk and never missed anything!
