I recently worked with Christine who went above and beyond in getting me the best price she could for my upcoming AC unit. Tito was also great to work with. Bad experience with AZ servicing our HVAC unit. It was not blowing warm air. The tech from AZ came and after opening up the panel and check a few things he says a motor in the unit needs to be replaced. Even though the unit is just 5 years old. It is going to cost $1600. I felt it is a fairly new unit so that part should not break so early. I got another vendor to come and they found there is some debris felt inside of the motor causing it not to spin. After poking the debris out of the motor the unit is working again. It took less than 5 minutes to find out what's wrong and fix. I was not even charged for the service. So beware of AZ air. They are a rip off. read more

I was connected to AZ Air & Heat via Costco...long story short I was given ONE unit as an option for my home and after they started was told by Tito that they had to bring in a roofer to "do the job right" to build a platform and then seal it. The installation team built the platform and the roofer came the next day to seal it...all for an extra $2300. I asked to speak with Tito's boss and was told that "Marlin" would call me back...well, "Mike" called me back introducing himself as "Mike from COSTCO Air and Heating." Costco or AZ? He asked me if I wanted them to finish the job - which was just to seal the roof - for $1500 or not. Unbelievable! Rip off artists. Don't trust them! read more

Had to get a brand new HVAC for my condo and AZ Air Conditioning and Heating were listed as one of the best companies in my area. Tal was my point person and he was so helpful and explained the entire process step by step. It was a little pricey but the warranty more than makes up for it and the installation was so smooth and the unit works flawlessly. They also cleaned my ducts and did a beautiful and thorough job. I found this company through Costco and I could not have been more disappointed by their sales tactics (borderline high pressure) and will not move forward with this company. Honestly, I felt like I was dealing with a car salesman who was talking over me, spinning bs, and not listening to my needs (he tried to sell me a 4-zone system when I only need a 3-zone system, and also tried to rush my decision making to get me to sign immediately). His pitch seemed forced and scripted, and ultimately I was left with a negative taste that told me "don't trust this guy." Frankly, I'm a disappointed in Costco for associating with this vendor and am posting this review to make sure others are aware of my experience and their sales tactics. read more

After checking out a few local companies to replace my A/C, I decided to go through Costco, and I couldn't be happier. Everyone involved is very considerate, respectful and professional. The work done was incredible and I can't believe I put up with a battered old, energy sucking A/C for so long!! Juan Padilla, the rep that came out was friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt all the power was mine to choose what to do or not do. Very good service, responsiveness and helpfulness. Called Zack and he had someone to the house the next day. The communication is excellent with text confirmation and our service person was pleasant and resolved our issue in a very reasonable amount of time. The flat service fee is fair and our cost of repair fortunately fell within the service fee range. I highly recommend this business. Mike was our sales representative he was friendly. We were doing acooling system for our parents, we were not able to put in a full AC system due to lack of space in their attic. Mike gave them other options and was very mindful of my parents age, he was patient and made sure they understood their options and the process of installing the cooling system that met their needs and was suitable for their home. Overall we are very pleased with Mikes presentation the company's workmanship in during the installation of the system. They arrived on time and completed the job in one day. read more

Well as Zach requested, I called AZ several times to resolve the matter "in good faith". First we played phone tag, then someone at AZ hung up on me for asking to leave a message for Zach, then I asked for the customer service manager and left a voicemail. And there was never a call back. More time spent and lost with AZ for no good reason. The reason why I'm not in the system is probably because my wife was the one in our household who was most in contact with AZ. read more

AZ did a great job of installing a new Lennox Heat Pump two zone HVAC system in our home. The experience started with Juan who did a very professional job of quoting the system. The installation guys were awesome. We feared that the installation would take multiple days and we would be without heat for those days. The team arrived on time. We had 7 installers and an electrician plus helper. Everyone had their job and we're well experienced. There was a concern with the operation of the controller and the temperature sensor. Harry did a great job of explaining the system and making adjustments. Overall, we're very pleased with AZ's performance and would recommend them. read more

One of our two AC heat pumps died before summer, so we've got a referral via Costco to this company. Mr. Jesus Pimentel helped us with the assessment, budgeting out the systems and aftercare. We had an army of workers replaced and install the Heavy duty Lennox systems. The project was little pricier than the other bidders, but we went with AZ as they guarantee their work as well as cost backing them up. Jesus was great along the way with getting the signatures for the work permit as well as answering my novice questions patiently. We have a reliable AC system now & we are super happy with the results. We've got a nice rebate from the Costco too. Thank you AZ team. read more

Our family decided that it was time for us to have central heating and air conditioning in our home. We reached out, via Costco, to AZ and a representative promptly responded and set up the appointment for an estimate. Jesus, AZ representative, arrived to the appointment on schedule and he proceeded to evaluate the house and put together system options. He was quite thorough and friendly, open to answering all our questions. We decided on an option and all the necessary planning was taken care of by Jesus. The system installation took only one day. A team showed on the scheduled day and with great efficiency proceeded to install the system. The whole experience was stress free and quick. This company is a joke! I got their contact details from Costco, they came to look at my place, the rep promised to email me a quote within a couple of days. I got no quote whatsoever but 10 days later their customer service emailed me to ask why I didn't purchase with them. Well, maybe because I never got a quote... then they sent me a quote just for one of the options I requested completely omitting my request for the second option. Either way the cost was ridiculously high...$19,000 to replace heating/AC unit, 70,000 btu for under 1,300 sq.f. condo, you can do the math... Very unprofessional... they never responded back when I asked what the cost would be if I just replace the furnace without getting the AC unit. So I never heard back from them... read more

Let me start by saying I am a complete perfectionist and because of that, any vendor that works with me should beware! I got quotes from 4 different companies to do a complete replacement of two HVAC systems, upgrade ducting, install air purification system, and add 3 zones. I chose AZ because of Edson Ramos, lead sales manager for the company after our 2nd visit. I used Costco and took advantage of their 15% rebate (which came very fast after the job completed). AZ was not the cheapest; but Edson's expertise in zone mapping, duct reviewing, and his personal assurance to make me happy no matter what is what sold me. So here's what happened after I signed the contract and we set installation: 1) Install Day: 6 guys showed up at 8am sharp and went to work. Other than an hour lunch, they worked non stop until almost 8pm that evening. They tore out almost all the ducts, added all the dampeners, and installed the equipment flawlessly. The city inspector even said it looked fantastic. 2) Next day I noticed the airflow was weak in a few ares of the house. AZ came out within 48 hours to adjust the dampeners, and we were back in business. 3) A couple days later, the condenser outside was making a high pitch squeal that just didn't seem normal. AZ came out and tried to adjust it, but with no luck. This was a Lennox issue, not AZ. Edson again promised me he would make me happy and make sure this was addressed. After his consultation with Lennox (manufacturer), they decided to 'warranty replace' the condenser with an upgraded unit to their top of the line model as a courtesy for my trouble and time spent. 4) Today, condenser has been replaced. The system is working flawlessly and the house is extremely comfortable with clean fresh cool air. What I couldn't believe in all of this is that AZ, (even with a pandemic in the world!) came to finish the job. Unbelievable service level and effort. Thank you Edson and thank you AZ! read more

Not a single bad thing to say about this company. A request for an added ERV system was initially made through Costco. AZ Air called me up and wanted to set up an appointment to see what kind of system I had, Lennox Dave Signature. Jesus arrived on the dot. He went up into my attic where the HVAC was located and noticed I had only one return. He explained that a system that I had required two returns. I enquired about an ERV system, as I heard good things about it. He told me that would help with the problem I had with my limit switch. I told him to send me a quote, which he did the same day. On the installation, two installers, David and Angel R. arrived at exactly the time they promised. They were respectful and friendly. They complimented me on how clean my attic was and proceeded with the installation. When they finished, they showed me how the unit worked and were patient about it. We were expecting the job to take TWO DAYS (as advertised by the Mike Mendoza our sale rep) but the crew finished the job in one long 12-hour shift. I called AZ to service my unit; the repair guy came and said I needed to replace the condenser on the roof and another appointment was scheduled. When the sales person came out he told me my 10 year old unit was antiquated and that I needed a completely new unit for $12,000. I got another recommendation and was told my unit is fine; $290 and things were running smoothly again. Before you agree to an entirely new A/C unit please get another recommendation. read more

I used AZ Air Conditioning & Heating for yearly service. They charged $140 for the service, and it was OK. However, the technician did not know what he was doing. He made 3 holes on top of the furnace to check the 'air flow,' I guess. I don't know why I let him do it. I don't know why I let him do it. He told me that I needed to pay more, so he clean the dust. So, I asked him how do you close these holes to prevent more dust inside the machine; then he put tape on them. I called their office for an explanation, and they said they would call me back & they did not. I asked the office if, for any maintenance, they need to make several holes, I should have a mesh after 10 years that I have this unit. I should say the first person I should blame is myself that I let him do it, but I don't want to happen to other people. Do not trust the technicians who come to your house and want to sell more services instead of doing the job that got paid for it. read more

AZ just replaced our entire HVAC system and we couldn't be happier. We have been putting off the replacement of our HVAC system for years. LA's hot summers are not forgiving and we decided this year we had enough. We had four HVAC companies come to our home to provide us with a bid. Three of the companies recommended we install 2 separate units to properly cool our two-story 3,500 SF home (the most expensive option) Upon AZ coming to take a look, they were the only company to propose a single unit system with a zoning system (the less expensive option and certainly the right one). Their professionalism and knowledge was top tier, and their patience with us as we navigated through our decision was really amazing. In short, AZ provided the most competitive bid, their entire crew was friendly, professorial, and clean (due to COVID they wore masks, gloves, and shoe covers at all times which made us comfortable during the process), knocked out a quick installation, and finally got our home to feel cool and comfortable. We had an estimate appointment scheduled for yesterday (6/5) from 2:00pm-3:00pm, come 3:45pm no one had shown up and we did not receive a call notifying us. I had to call the main customer service line and was placed on hold while they got in contact with the Sales Rep. I was then told I would get a call back once they figured out where the Sales Rep was. I get a call at 4:06pm saying that the driver had a family emergency and could not make it out. I understand that things happen, but I would have appreciated a heads up before taking time off work to be at our home for 2 hours. We then get rescheduled for this morning from 9:00am - 10:00am, at exactly 10:00am, we get a call that the Sales Rep will be there in 15 minutes. How is it that they wait until exactly the end of the hour margin to call? At this point, we have wasted several hours of our time waiting around for a Sales Rep to show up and decided to go with another company. This is a horrible way to do business and I am shocked that Costco contracts with a company that handles customer service so poorly. You will also see that the majority of the reviews on here are 5 stars (canned/paid for reviews), where the real reviews are between 1 and 2 stars. Don't fall for this and go with a local A/C company that will treat you right. read more

Our first meeting with Juan was pleasant and informative. He answered all our questions, which were few because he did such a great job explaining the job from start to finish. We were impressed at the attention to detail: each crew member wore masks and shoe coverings, they laid cloth on the hardwood where they would be walking, plastic sheeting was placed over pretty much everything! The crew was very efficient: everyone had a specific job, everyone did their job. There was good communication among the crew members. Juan predicted the job would take just one day, we were skeptical, but they got it done! Their truck carried all tools they would need, they sorted tools and materials in the driveway and at the end of they day, you would never know any workmen had been present. Every last bit of leftover trash and equipment was packed up! AZ walked us through operating the thermostat, promised to bring us a new attic access cover (which they did, making a new frame for the access). If you are thinking of installing heating and/or air conditioning in your home, I would highly recommend AZ Heating and Air. Their professionalism and attention to detail was spot-on! Using them made my anxiety level a nonevent! We had an exceptionally positive experience from our first meeting with Juan to meeting the crew to the end of the installation. I enjoy giving technicians or companies the chance to proverbially "shoot themselves in the foot" even though I like it much more when a company proves its 5 star rating which was not my experience this time. This company was referred through Home Depot. You think Home Depot. What could possibly go wrong, right? Let's start with communication. The Home Depot dispatch guy, asked the reason for the appointment, which I explained, per verifiable diagnostics of an outside technician. I gave the specs on the part that needed replacing. The HD dispatch rep was very patient, very precise and quoted the price including labor and 1 year warranty. The AZ tech spouted out a totally different, higher price and said he had to call the office for approval. Worse than that, at first he insisted my system be replaced entirely for $12-$15k. (Yeah, it's very old but works quietly, effectively. The expression "they don't build them like they used to" is true as I've read complaint after complaint about new-installs and new equipment and poor follow up, here and all over the web.) What the HD guy didn't say was that if any nearby or related components stop functioning or are damaged, the responsibility is with the customer. So, if static pressure changes, freon is lost, the system fails which makes no sense because if you're replacing a broken part, the other parts should work better, not break down, you have no case to complain. I told him I would have to let HD know that this is what this subcontractor does/says and see what protections HD gives by going through them. I'd already accepted that things could go wrong which is why I let the tech do and start what he did below... Next issues, technique and preparedness. After looking inside the condenser panel, which I'd opened up ahead of time as a courtesy, and agreeing with the problem found, the tech asked me to fire up the a/c so he could see what happens with the compressor outside. When I explained to him it would create a mess due to dripping water into the ceiling below, he shrugged. I asked if he had a ShopVac and he said he didn't. I turned on the a/c to comply while placing containers for dripping water. Then he wanted to temp check the inside vents and check for static pressure but the condenser panel was open which I pointed out. He struggled to line up that panel, and kept hitting it with his hand. When it seemed good enough to him, instead of re-connecting that panel using existing drill holes and screws, he began drilling new holes!! I stopped him at the first one and when I questioned him, he said he'd tape up any holes left open. What?!? Why not take the time and do it right or, if you need to temporarily seal the condenser panel for an accurate vent reading or static pressure check, use tape and then put in the dedication and accuracy to use existing holes to close up the unit when the job is done? That logic didn't work for the technician. His reply was "Let me do my job." Feeling pressured, I assented and went inside. He decided he was going to step away and call their office, unaware that if I returned to the garage at any point, I'd hear him even though he wasn't in clear sight which by chance is exactly what happened. I just waited and listened. I literally heard him say "You don't wanna touch this one." I casually asked him what's next. That's when he told me about his conversation with their office and blamed *my* hesitancy in letting him drill multiple new holes in the a/c and furnace components as to why the office told him to close up and leave. Really?? Maybe some truth serum is called for. The tech left so fast, I didn't get to ask if the compressor was sealed. An hour later when I checked, sure enough, it was unsealed. Worst of all, the new hole and screw he thought he'd created a connection point with for the condenser access panel didn't entirely clear the housing, the new drill hole on the panel wider than the one in the housing. The inside temp check was never done. The static pressure check was only done visually based on some blackened fiberglass insulation around the unit. He never screwed the condenser panel door back on, though the screws were right there. It's just tentatively slid into place, leaning outwards unsupported at the top. When I reported the open compressor, the tech was sent back, tG. He closed the panel with just one screw that was there. Clearly no sense of professionalism or courtesy to use additional screws to replace the two or three which were missing. There was no sense of personal obligation to Jack. If someone suggests a different method to do my job, especially if it makes sense or saves time, I don't dismiss it. If there's something I can do extra to make myself stand out from competition in my field, I do it. I definitely don't blame the consumer or try to scare them into spending more based on their uncertainty or fears. Maybe their one redeeming characteristic is I won't be charged so I hold them to it. read more

Went to Costco to install a new complete HVAC system. AZ was recommended as their preferred vendor. They had a great sales guy, Tal, come out and give us a full estimate. He worked hard to earn our business which he did. Then he had one of the owners, swing by and give us his opinion on what system we should choose. He was extremely thorough and helpful. We went with his recommendation. They installed a new furnace and condenser as well as all new duct work etc. The install crew showed up exactly on time, with 6 guys and they busted their butts. They were here from 8am until 8pm, making sure it was all done correct. The lead installer explained everything and was a pleasure to work with. We are extremely pleased with AZ and highly recommend them! read more

UPDATE 2/24/2020 I wrote this review last night, and this morning I had a call from Rafael of AZ telling me how disappointed he was in the review. I had spoken to him before when I had asked to speak to a Manager in my total frustration. When we spoke the first time he gave me a song and dance about how if they had recommended replacement of our ducts at the time they sold us the furnace and the ducts had not needed replacement we would have been upset. He totally missed my point that it was OBVIOUS that our ducts needed replacing. The technician who came out to repair them took only a couple of minutes to see that they were in terrible condition, so I do not understand why the sales rep who went into the crawl space to inspect them, and who told us he was a general contractor and knowledgeable about these things, did not see that. We were relying on their expertise. Because they gave us bad advice we missed out on approximately $450 in Costco cash card rebate, and had to give up 4 days of our time instead of two. Furthermore, for the month+ that the new furnace was trying unsuccessfully to blow air through the old ducts, our gas bill went from $40/month to over $120/month. Now Rafi implied that he wants me to take down the review without acknowledging that there is a problem or making any attempt to make amends. From my end it feels like we were told we didn't need ducts to minimize the amount of Costco rebate. Furthermore, I am being treated as if I am an over-reacting woman rather than someone who has over 25 years of management experience including of construction projects and major industrial facilities. I don't need mansplaining, I need an appropriate response. Not impressed. What would it take for me to update this review with a positive conclusion? 1. Acknowledge that we were given bad advice in the beginning, and that their response has been less than stellar. 2. Give a sincere apology for the amount of my time that has been wasted on the two extra days of installation/inspection and on the repeated calls to AZ to try to get some satisfaction. 3. Reimburse me the $450 that we are out because we did not order the ducts at the time of the furnace. 2/23/2020 I had high expectations from a Costco contractor but have been disappointed. We were advised by the AZ salesperson who came to our house that we should NOT replace our ducts when we had our new furnace installed. We were surprised, but accepted the advice. Our furnace was installed, the State inspector came...and we failed the inspection. AZ sent a crew out to repair the duct that the inspector said caused the failure, and he said the ducts were in terrible shape and unless they were replaced we would not pass inspection. We also were getting virtually no heat through the ducts, and our gas bill more than tripled! We paid the $4500 to have the ducts replaced, but instead of getting a Costco cash card rebate based on the total price of furnace + ducts as we would have if we had purchased them at the same time, we only received it on the price of the furnace so we missed out on about $450 in rebates. When I complained, AZ said there never is a rebate on ducts, but a relative who ordered both a new furnace and duct replacement at the same time just three days after we ordered our furnace got a Costco cash card based on the total combined amount. We also had to arrange to be home four days instead of the two it would have taken if the jobs had been done together and we had passed the inspection the first time. Then, the day after they were installed a limit switch failed on the furnace. A technician came and installed a temporary fix, but we had to wait more than two weeks for the replacement part. This meant arranging to be home two more days. Worst of all, I have called to complain several times and every time I am promised a call back, but I have never been called back as promised. I left repeated messages for Customer Service Manager Monique, who was supposedly handling my case, and she never called back. More than two weeks ago I was finally transferred to Marlin Aguilar, the person supposedly in charge of all customer service, who gave me a big song and dance then told me he would call me the day after our (second) State inspection to "make things right." The inspection was two weeks ago and he has not called. I also put in a complaint via AZ's customer satisfaction survey on their website and no one followed up. So...we are out $450 in Costco rebates and 4 days of our time. The technicians we have dealt with have been great, but the sales and customer service personnel have been terrible. read more

When my Lennox central heating system packed up just days after the 10 year had warranty expired, they charged me $150.00 to say they didn't have the part to fix it and they didn't know when it would come in and that that 150. would not go toward the repair of the unit. I found it curious that the system malfunctioned conveniently after their 10 year plan was up, which they insisted is the life span of a heating and air system. The part that broke was the computer board that had been sending corrupt signals for sometime before any warning or error message appeared. Why didn't AZ contact us to say were getting a corrupt signal from our computer board? The answer is, we didn't have their expensive maintenance plan. This company is a cheat. They over charge and Costco, which is where I got them from, is an enabler. They should not showcase Lennox or AZ. I will inform Costco of our experience. read more

The entire crew was exceptional! Very prompt, professional, courteous, and clean. They were here for 2 days and always made sure to wear booties and covered my hardwood floors to prevent scratches. They disposed of all the trash and made sure to not scratch my walls or soil my furniture.
