The macarons were so good, I wanted to slap my grandmaw! These macarons were the BEST I've tasted ever in Los Angeles. (All my close Yelp friends know that I'm a huge macaron snobby-biotch). These were GOOD! Period! The nine macarons came in a cute little brown box and were neatly arranged. Every one of the macarons were super crunch on the outside (I did *not* say dry!), and super chewy on the inside. Blueberry Lavendar. I'm normally not a foo-foo kinda guy, but this blueberry lavendar had me smiling from ear to ear. I loved how it had a well balance taste of each flavor. Grade: A! Salted Caramel. Again, one of my favorite flavors. Caramel was super chewy on the inside, which made eating it fun! Grade: A- Pistacio: Everyone's favorite. Boxer's dropped. Enough said. Grade: A! Coffee. Another classic, well made. Nice coffee flavor and not overwhelming. Grade: A-. Chocolate. I don't typically get excited for chocolate, but I did for this one. Grade: A-. Rasberry. Nodding my head and agreeing with other yelpers while I am writing this... Duverger definitely has the best macarons in LA!!! I am so happy to find out and I can't wait for them to have their own store.. I first found out about them in Flour+Tea a while ago, and was told that it was made by a French couple.. I did buy a few pcs to try out but it was too sweet for me so I didn;t like it much. However, a friend bought me a few pcs from Au79 Tea Express (Pasadena) last weekend... and that have completely changed my mind about Duverger! Personally Laduree is my favorite but the closest one is in NY! Duverger is definitely the closest to what I have got in Laduree! Blueberry lavender is one of my current obsessions (the Chunk n Chip truck has blueberry lavender ice cream btw). All of the other flavors are solid (pistachio, lemon, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, praline, raspberry) but I would seriously buy a box of 12 blueberry lavender. There are macarons and there are, macarons. I had the pleasure of tasting the little devils at a food festival. I was amazed at how simple they looked but the first bite capture my heart and melted my soul. Crisp on the outside and soft in the inside, with just enough cream filling to balance the sweetness and flavor. Their flavors range from the ever popular salted caramel to unique blueberry lavender. They are made with almond flour, and are gluten free & could i say, wholesome? The fact that they only sell at farmers' market and are own by lovely French couple, makes the whole experience more authentic than it ought to. For a moment I felt like Edith Piaf was humming away along the streets. But the Socal weather put a stop to that instantly. I doubt there won't be any better pastries around town. I know they are starting out and I should be encouraging them. The macarons business is tough. In particular in the USA where everybody thinks that macarons are macaroons ( you know the coconut treat...) The filling was ok. But the overall color was off. Compare to the Laduree it is night and day. The color is so white for the Duverger one, it is so brown orange for the Laduree. The biscuit was hallow and not dense at all. The filling was rather thin. So far my favorite macaron in LA was baked by Gordon Ramsay at the London. All the others were just not that great. This macaron was still cute and tasty. It was just no worth it in the end. I may have to try more or by it from them directly as it might also have been a condition issue. 4.5 stars!!!! For dessert, my friend and I meandered off to the financial district in dtla. We stopped by Les Macarons because my friend knew my love for these beauties. Les Macarons only sells at farmer's markets & several retailers for now... they were at the Bank of America Plaza Farmers Market (10A-2P). Meh.... I am not a fan. My opinion might be credible because I've had Laduree (inventor of the french macaron)? Save your money and go somewhere else. I bought Duverger macarons from Tous Les Jours in Koreatown. They didn't have boxes so I bought 2 to eat right away. I bought the salted caramel and blueberry lavender everyone was raving about and boy was I disappointed. Too sweet for the salted caramel and the lavender flavor was so strong it was overwhelming. Like other fellow sweets-loving-Yelpers, I'm a total macaron snob. In my world, Pierre Herme, Laduree and Maison du Chocolat reign supreme, and all other macaron-related hype is drowned out by my embarrassingly judgmental palate for sweets. I'll admit it... I had my doubts when I first walked past Les Macarons Duverger's stand at the Atwater Farmer's Market. I smiled as I handed over a five for a packet of three macarons, but deep down, I was harboring a gargantuan (healthy?) dose of skepticism towards the sweet gal behind the folding table. What do you mean I can't select the individual flavors I want? (The cookies come pre-packaged.) OMG, your entire inventory is stored in a tiny cooler? (Get them while they last!) And finally, you guys don't even have a storefront. How good could these cookies possible be? Um, allow me to eat my words and share my honest opinion. Les Macarons Duverger's cookies are hearts-bulging-from-my-eye-sockets good. The texture of the macarons I enjoyed was perfect (not too cakey), and the flavoring was excellent as well. (I had the Praline and Coffee flavored treats while my husband quickly downed the Chocolate). Dammit! I should've gotten the six-pack... My wonderful husband picked me up a half dozen of these delicious little morsels from the farmers market in Atwater Village last Sunday. They are small but extremely flavorful. Cakier than my favorites at 'Lette in Beverly Hills but they make up for the texture in the flavor. I had the following fantabulous flavors: Pistachio, Lemon, Blueberry Lavender (My personal favorite of the bunch), Raspberry (a close second), Coffee, and salted caramel (decidedly delicious). When I first discovered these macarons at Whole Foods, I wasn't prepared for anything spectacular. Macarons are my favorite dessert ever-and I've been eating them for years. I've been really let down at the macarons everyone raves over at Bottegas, Lette, etc. especially after having had the real deal in Paris at Laduree and Pierre Herme. These are right up there with the big French dogs. Seriously amazing-the texture is perfect, with fillings that actually taste like the flavors they say they are (gasp!). They are never dry and crunchy, like some that look pretty but taste like nothing. I've had nearly every flavor, and while they are all good, the standouts are the red velvet, lavender blueberry, and fleur de sel. Please keep them as a staple item at Whole Foods!! Not only do they have a delightful product, they give good customer service, professional and friendly. Ummm... I'm not sure if I'm eating the same macarons everyone else is raving about.... OK, so the first time I encountered these buggers were at Flour+Tea. I had been craving macarons and came across LMD on yelp and instantly hunted them down that same afternoon. They crumbled in the bag before I even got home (and i ALWAYS handle my baked goodies with love and care) and the outer shell was extremely soft... The entire macaron had the same texture through and through, a quality that I personally do not enjoy. A macaron SHOULD have an crunchy outer shell with soft, chewy midsection.... These tasted stale and the flavors weren't memorable at all. And then I came across LMD at CAFE MAJI (please go here. food is delicious) and I decided to give these macarons another try, just in case the macarons I had at Flour+Tea were stale. I bought the Salted Caramel and Pina Colada. SAME SOFT LAME TEXTURE and flavors were lackluster. Didn't quite capture the essence of Pina Colada either...... Just a faint pineapple flavor. So either LMD needs to follow up on how these macarons are kept while selling them to retailers or these just aren't my cup of tea. Two Stars.... One because I love macarons no matter what. To the yelpers that say they've eaten macarons from all over and these are the best- did we try the same macarons???! Macarons are a new found love of mine. I didn't start truly appreciating and loving these til I had to make them for a restaurant day in and day out for months. Naturally, I started trying out macarons from other establishments, anywhere I could find them, I taste tested them. I bought a dozen of these macarons from my local Whole Foods...and ugh!!! When I think of the ideal macaron- I think chewy, soft, moist with a creamy finish from the filling. The finished product of these so-called-macarons shared flavor and texture of sandy cardboard- it was DRY, just so very very dry! The inside of the shells were not moist at all. The fillings were super lackluster, some macarons you can't even see if there IS filling until you bite into it. These are by far the worst macarons I have ever tried- and I will now stay far far away from grocery store macarons because of this. read more

I have eaten a macaron from almost every bakery/confectionary that sells them in Los Angeles (Bouchon, Bottega Louie, 'Lette, Euro Pane, Lemonade, Milk - to name a few). No place has come close to this maker's version! The shells are perfectly crispy but strong enough that they don't completely fall apart at first bite. You can actually taste the creme! I've had other versions that contained cream but was just for looks. Why even bother if you can't taste the creme?! I first found them at small stall at the Atwater Village Farmers' Market. Living in the SF Valley just got better now that I know I can get these tasty, pretty treats at my local Whole Foods and Tous Les Jours. Massive complements to the chef! read more

Today, I am a happy girl. I picked up a box of 12 at the farmers market next to Torrance beach, after reading the reviews on yelp. Pretty impressed! Cheaper than Chantilly and Lette, and around the same quality. But in all honesty I've tried many a macaron, so I can't say this is the best. (Jean Phillipe and Laduree come to mind) My choices in Torrance are pretty limited so I will be back! By the way, make sure you get them from an actual Duverger stand. It was an outstanding experience which I am going to share you. Les Macarons Duverger is the little bakery store is genuinely worth a visit. I went in today for primarily yelping purposes and for the first time I was delighted with a convenience store. Not only do they have a really impressive range of everything you could expect, from chocolate and crisps to newspapers to necessities such as ketchup and tobasco, but they also have a cold meat and cheese counter. It's a little mini version of the Cheese Hamlet in Didsbury, with a great selection of different cheeses and cold meats that are much much cheaper than your usual cheese shop prices. The staff is so much cooperative, honest and their dealing is also good. . A really nice little surprise find. Check it out. I will highly suggest and recommend. read more

Picked up a box of macarons from their stand at the Atwater Farmers Market, and yes these are definitely legit. The flavour choice is a bit limited but what they make, they make very well. Texture is near perfect, the right amount of crunch and chew. Lot of flavour in each bite. The only flavour I didnt care for was the blueberry, but that's only because the taste reminded me of kids cereal that has blueberry in it, so it was like eating macarons made from Twix or something. I was walking at the Farmer's market in downtown one day during lunch when I came upon the macaron stand. I love the Louie Bottega ones, so I was a bit hesitant. After looking at all of their flavors, I decided that they were different enough where it wouldn't feel like a betrayal to my first macaron love (Bottega). What drew me the most was the blueberry lavender. It wasn't just the pretty pastel color, but the combination. I mean really? Who would have thought to pair the two? I don't think I ever would have. The first bite got me. The flavor is amazing and it's super soft. I'm guessing it must be like biting into a white puffy cloud. YUM! I bought a bag with six of them and tried them all. I was nice and only got half of each, so I could share the other half. Okay, I ate the blueberry lavender and the praline one, but I shared the other ones with my sis who also loved them. I've gone back again and again since then! I have even contacted them via their site to get my two favs in a bag. They usually have a mix of their own already, not bad if you're giving them away as a gift, or trying to sample as many as you can. For those of us that already have our favs, picking our own is a great option. They've also added new flavors since the first time I tried them. I'm not a huge fan of the lemon one, but that's just personal. It's just as pretty and fluffy as all of the others. By the way, they're all gluten free and made with natural ingredients. Even if they weren't wholly gluten free, they may be worth the tummy ache. Find them at the BofA plaza, near the on ramp from 4th to Hope. They're there Fridays from 10am to 2pm. I picked 12 macarons up at the Farmers Market yesterday and taste tested them all. I have had a fair share of macarons in my life and these were beautiful to look at but the taste paled in comparison to others I have had. I give them 2 stars because they were not too overpriced for macarons, but they were overpriced for what they tasted like. The Earl Grey was by far my favorite, but it still wasn't amazing. The shells all tasted similar and some of the fillings were hard to point out. I actually had to look up the flavors to differentiate the ones we had. We came out extremely underwhelmed. read more

Unbelievably delicious, with organic ingredients and natural flavorings... You have to find a place that sells them in LA! I've been to Paris multiple times and the flavors are so much better in these than literally any other macaron I've ever had (personal preference, I'm sure, but believe me when I say I've tried a LOT of macarons over the years). You can actually taste the real fruit in the fruit and the coffee in the coffee... wonderful! They are lighter than your average macarons, which tend to be super bright with artificial coloring, but that's because Duverger uses actual food ingredients to get their colors and the difference in flavor is... heavenly. read more
