I would not have flinched if she, in a semi polite manner would have simply said something like, "we have quite a few orders but if you don't mind waiting a moment, we will help you." Instead I felt awkward and embarrassed. She did find my order which was handed to me in an efficient but not warm and friendly way and that was it. Both employees seemed irritated that I did not know the "lay of the land" I get the store was busy. They seemed to be short staffed. The woman said they were having technical issues which I totally get and I am sure they were both tired and frustrated. I've been there. But I left feeling ashamed for putting the employees out. Whole Foods - your Oxnard internet is awful so looking for instructions in an email or app is often fruitless. Maybe some clear signage like you have at the Amazon self serve? A simply thing like that would go a long way. I won't try online pickup again. If am item I want is unavailable I will skip it there and purchase it somewhere else. On the upside, Angel, one of your male employees, is always SUPER nice and very helpful. Ditto for the employees at the seafood station. This is the only poor experience I have had.

My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!

Our search for the perfect wedding desserts led us to Duverger Macarons, a hidden gem in Oxnard, CA. While they are primarily a wholesale macaron company, they also sell to individuals, and their offerings left us utterly delighted. When purchasing as an individual from Duverger, you have to buy a "case." These cases are a treasure trove of delightful flavors, coming in both a single-flavor option and pre-assorted flavor option. Each case contains 72 macarons total, split into 6 clamshells with 12 macarons in each. Not only did this ordering method make the price per macaron incredibly competitive, but it also ensured that we had an abundance of these sweet delights. For our wedding, we chose to order a selection of three mouthwatering flavors: Coconut, Salted Caramel, and Passion Fruit, a seasonal delight. Each macaron was a burst of flavor and an absolute treat for the taste buds. They were a big hit at our wedding dessert table and added a touch of elegance and deliciousness to our special day. The best part is that we didn't have to worry about wasting any macarons. We were able to take the leftovers from the wedding and store them in our freezer for later enjoyment. Knowing that we had more of these delectable treats waiting for us brought even more joy to our post-wedding days.
