2 visits never again. Too bad cus you lost a 400 table. The first time I called and made reservations they Only had 8:30 ok no problem. We show u at 8:15 don't get seated till 8:50 which was fine but... when we sat down the waitress said you have to order appetizers dinner and dessert now because the kitchen closes at 9pm. Being that we were hangry at this point we stayed. The food was ok they were out of 3 different things we tried to order so we just said maybe next time we'll come earlier. Ok so next time was today. I went on their website to make a reservation it lead me to open table. On open table it said they don't take reservations ok so we'll go at 5:00. We park and walk up a hill walk into an empty restaurant and were told they are booked with reservations. I said I tried to make one on open table and the manager said oh we're not on that anymore. We were 4 people and I swear there had to be at least 40 tables empty. My friend who was with us owns a restaurant and was shocked they didn't seat us. The did tell us we could order our food at the bar and carry it outside and eat on a couch but that was walking up stairs carrying our food and eating steak on our laps? What?!?! Look I get people make reservations but people also cancel them or don't show. How do you turn people away when your restaurant is empty?? We are in our late 60's I'm not carrying My food up a flight of stairs and holding my plate on my lap. This reservation thing also happened a few months back at their sister restaurant Settlers inn. We walked in the restaurant it was completely empty and they wouldn't take us because we didn't have a reservation. Wow just wow! We have always enjoyed coming to the Glass bar over the years to enjoy delicious cocktails and of course the waterfall views. We have bragged and brought friends to share this spot with them. We have noticed the past couple of years the service has gone down, prices of drinks have really gone up, and the drinks we loved have been removed off the menu. We went last night to give them a try and will not be going back. For a small menu selection to begin with they were sold out of several items. If the place opens at 4 PM, how are you sold out at 7 PM? We ordered a small plate to share as an appetizer. And we each ordered a shared plate for our dinner. My husband got a special which was halibut with crab. The portion was so small. $32 for this plate. It was ridiculous. Four slices of zucchini were on the side. I got the gnocchi and it was a very small portion. We could not get over how small the portion was and how expensive this place is. Not worth it anymore! We were wondering if there was a change in management over the past couple years because whatever is being done now is taking that place down fast. I was SO let embarrassed when I bragged to visiting friends about Glass having the Best Old Fashioned we've Ever had. We were there off season and four of us had ordered 4 of them They were pricey but oh so worth it, we waited a long time for them to be made and again so worth the wait. Fast forward to last week we ordered 6 of them for 6 people whom we convinced had to try the best ever!!. They were made in just a couple of minutes, impossible if you are hand crafting 6 drinks. We went outside to see the beautiful view, toasted and every one of us stopped and said where is the whiskey. It was the most awful pre-made tasting thing ever and they cost a fortune. My friends will never let me live it down, I've been teased ever since. It was my favorite place to bring guests but I won't be going back! read more

The food was phenomenal! After a long day on the lake and not eating all day it totally hit the spot. The calamari was PERFECTLY crispy and seasoned and the chicken pot stickers were amazing as well. We come here a few times a year and we always get the duck fat fries with the truffle aioli and they're always hot and crispy and perfect. Our servers name Emma was lovely as well. We came to Glass for drinks late afternoon on a Saturday during Memorial Day weekend. It was moderately crowded at the bar when we arrived as a group of 5. I ordered a Pear and Pomegranate drink that was delicious and served quickly. We went upstairs to enjoy the view and watch the live band during our time there. When our party went back to a second round of drinks however, it did take longer for them to return. Additionally they accidentally charged my fiance twice but they quickly reconciled this. My Weis beer was warm and my partner's margarita did not even taste like there was any alcohol in it at all for the 16.00 it cost. The menu was so limited and when the waitress came over she advised us that 3 items on a Limited menu were not even available. If you are going for dinner this is not the place. Ledges (Glass Wine Bar and Kitchen) charges NYC pricing for a mediocre Pocono experience. Yes the restaurant has incomparable views, especially outside on the patio. But that does not justify the absurdly ridiculous prices they charge for small plate servings from an extremely limited menu. The tiny portions are closer to appetizer size than an actual meal with prices ranging from $25 - $50. Everything is ala cart. If you want a side of vegetables it's another $14. I would rate the taste/quality of the meal as good/average but again not outstanding and not aligned with the high prices. Alcohol was not listed on the menu and we were quite shocked when we received our bill and realized we'd been charged $18 a glass for a 4oz pour of house wine. Service is another area that just fell short of expectations. The servers are kids most likely filling summer jobs. They were nice and respectful but not very attentive and unable to answer any questions we had about the menu etc... Overall dining here is just not worth the cost. You'll leave hungry and feel like you were grossly overcharged for an average meal, service and drinks. read more

My fiancé and I just ate here tonight and I wanted to make this review while everything was fresh in my mind. I had wanted to try this place for awhile now-every time I had come to the Poconos and tried to make reservations, it was full so I was excited to snag one for 8pm tonight. We got there early at 7:15, the valet drove us from the parking lot to the door, and the hostess kindly seated us early with a great view of the waterfalls outside on the top floor. It was indeed pretty, and the ambiance was nice with live music playing on the deck below us. Our server Mikey was excellent, attentive and always with a smile on his face. The kitchen tonight had some serious issues however. They ran out of 4 items that we wanted to order (despite them only having been open for 2 hours at that point)-crispy artichoke hearts, fritto misto, shrimp boil, pork chop. We settled for the Korean bbq picanha and the asparagus pasta. The pasta came first, it was evenly cooked but lacked salt, an ok dish. The picanha was a disaster- we ordered medium and it came out rare. We could not even cut the meat. We asked them to remake it. When it came out the same time, it was slightly more cooked, but it felt slightly cold, and my fiancé and I couldn't properly chew it and had to spit it out. We asked the server just to have it cooked well done so that we could at least swallow the meat. After waiting 40 minutes and shivering in the cold night air, we finally asked the server if we could wait indoors and get it to go. By that point, we were cold, hungry, and just wanted to go home. We waited indoors for another 20 minutes and finally Mikey brought us the food and apologized that the kitchen took so long. The picanha actually tasted better as takeout, cooked medium. The sauce is too sweet though, not tasting like Korean bbq at all. Something clearly happened in the kitchen tonight that multiple items weren't available so early on in the night, the food was undercooked, and it took so long to get the food to us. This restaurant has potential, but I won't be recommending this place to others until they improve the food and experience in general for the guests. read more

Especially if you are coming from a city and used to very good food, which from what I could hear around me, most people seemed to be from New York. Special mention to the salad, the spring green salad, without meat ,was $14 and teeeny tinnny. They could have spent an extra 50 cents to provide more lettuce or even more than one strawberry. The paella was very tasty, but again, small. The theme of the food is small, and kind of expensive. TINY $10 french fries. The dessert was VERY underwhelming. small little cups of...something. Where do I begin?? Heard such great things about this place, but now I can only assume three things - 1-things are not at all consistent (which spells doom for any restaurant), 2- "they" were referring to the views or 3- "they" had no expectations nor standards for fine dining and service. The first "experience" was being led to a reserved table in the "outdoor" seating area and being hit with a blast of 100 degree sauna-like air as the host opened the door. Nope. He then led us to another table (2 two-tops pushed together) next to a large table with unsupervised, unruly children. Yay. We were greeted by a wait person who spoke so softly and unintelligibly that we really weren't sure what we were hearing. Two appetizers, four entrees, four sides, two desserts, two rounds of drinks...$330+++ and this is how it went: 2 drinks served, then the other 2... a very good pinot grigio, I must say, but it kind of went down hill from there. The second round, we got 3 and then...and then...eventually, the 4th. "Charcuterie board" consisted of 4 paper thin slices of cheese, a tablespoon of duck goop, a small person's handful of cranberries and rancid peanuts, 4 slices of leathery sopressata, and a dollop of chunky mustard...oh, and some crackers. $30?? The meatballs, which two people in our party said were excellent the last time they were there, were rather bland, as was the sauce and no parmesan cheese to be had. This should be a given. The petite filet was nearly well done despite being ordered medium rare. Three out of the 8 or 10 slices were somewhat chewable. Sliced, which leads one to believe that it was the skinny dreggs of a filet mignon of questionable age. Mediterranean salad was drenched in dressing like I have never experienced before. Wife said the chicken entree was tasteless. Can definitely task the cheddar but the sour cream helps cut down that taste. Tempura Platter - a selection of vegetable tempura. Good golden brown fried exterior, soft interior. Love the eggplant one Chorizo Arancini - fried rice ball, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside *Unagi Shrimp Skewer - charred shrimp in a sweet brown sauce, really good *Jamon Serrano - can't go wrong with cured ham. The mustard it came with was fresh, and the mini pickles and pickled onions were not too sour. *Duck Leg Confit - the duck was done perfectly, it literally fell off the bone. EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTING!!! I made reservations at the restaurant for my wife's birthday dinner since we saw the beautiful location and scenic views. I checked the reviews and they seemed OK, except for some people complaining about the service. It was totally opposite for us. The service was great and the waitress was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I saw the prices, and I was ok with it given the location, hotel and the way it was displayed, but we were not OK with the quality and taste of the food served. If you can imagine a Jersey Shore boardwalk fish fry food stand beautifully displayed in an elegant setting, that's what we got. First we ordered the drinks that we had to return twice. The bartender couldn't even make a Shirley Temple for a child. It was red water with cherries. The Mojito was some what similar, but green. I ordered the signature Old Fashioned and it was again watered down. No taste in any of the beverages. My wife eventually asked for a glass of wine since "how can they screw that up". For appetizers, we ordered stuffed scallops, calamari, zucchini blossoms and porcini & roasted garlic fonduta. The scallops came on a large shell, but the scallop itself was tiny surrounded by tons of breading, you can only taste the bread crumbs. Calamari and the zucchini blossoms had so much batter that the taste of the original ingredient was missing, the only thing you could taste was the batter and the sauce it was served with. The fonduta (fondue) was extremely bitter and we could not taste the mushrooms or the garlic. The focaccia it was served with was OK. I decided to order the fried chicken & waffles, bad decision. Again, the chicken batter was thicker than the chicken itself and it was drenched in maple syrup which was so overwhelming that the taste of the chicken was totally gone. I didn't try the waffles since there was enough bread on the chicken. My 7-year-old son did not have any kids menu (non-existent) options, and the only item available was some obscure pasta with butter that was undercooked (not al dente) and cold. Chicken tenders were not available that night. I don't know how any hotel or a restaurant could leave out options for kids. When I made reservations, I mentioned that it was a birthday dinner and the staff suggested that they will note the reservation and bring out a dessert with a candle, but of course the was not done and I was already so frustrated with the dinner that I did not remind them. Total bill for two adults and a child was $260.00 (including tip). Again I wouldn't mind if the food and drinks would have been worth it, but it wasn't. Great location, beautiful decor and setting, but how can management and culinary staff destroy it by providing Fast Food quality, I don't understand? Very sad and disappointing. We reserved a table in advance as we're traveling from outside the area and I really wanted to see the view of the falls, which did not disappoint. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. One thing to note is the plates to share are really an individual size. We ordered individual charcuterie which was a small portion of cheese which was really good, presented well but everything it was paired with was kind of standard for the prices (barely palatable crackers, dried mangoes and dried cranberries out of a tub, sunflower seeds) the food was just ok. They did not have the alcohol on hand to make some standard drinks. The drinks were somewhere between ok and not great. The margarita tasted like it had no agave in it. The bills was very expensive for the area and given the quality and portions of food/drinks) I'd give it 5 stars for the waiter and view. 2 stars for food and drink portions and quality for the price. read more

The highlight of this place is the view of the waterfall and the open, airy but cave-like atmosphere. I loved the ambience. We were welcomed right away. Getting a reservation for our large party was impossible but when we showed up 11 people deep, the host arranged a large table for us. I was grateful and impressed by that. Make sure you get pictures by the waterfall! On to the food... so, our server was helpful, attentive, and got every single order right the first time. We weren't complicated but there were a lot of us and we ordered a lot of food. He got it all right. The drinks were very tasty but not super strong. You know I love a strong drink so I wanted a bit of a more heavy hand since I wasn't driving. The options for cocktails were good and many in our party enjoyed a refreshing glass of wine. We ordered some potatoes , lamb racks, duck confit and fries. Everything was soooo salty, to a point where we couldn't eat it. I rarely leave food unfinished, but this time, it was so over salted, none of us could bear to eat it. We explained to our server and he removed one of the items off of our bill, which was a very nice gesture. There is a bar area and plenty of indoor seating, but if you can snag a spot on the outdoor patio, DO IT! The view of the waterfall is what makes the ambiance of this place. (The outdoor patio is heated!) Glass is a tapas/small-plate style restaurant, so be prepared to share! We started out with the family charcuterie board and French onion bites (so cute!). Everyone then ordered their own dish from the Butcher's Block or the salad (vegetarian option - which was HUGE!) - I had the salmon and it was incredible, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also ordered each of the sides to compliment our main dish. It was so nice to be able to try a little bit of everything! This place was a little difficult to find at night, but just follow the GPS! It's located behind the hotel and down some winding roads. There's plenty of parking! Quality of food has gone downhill and they have not figured out the service issue from my last review three years ago. The chicken Milanese and the ribeye were both pre-cut coming out kitchen which made it very dry. Both entrées cold and dried out. Who cuts up a Rib Eye steak for the customer. I asked for medium rare got it medium well. ‍ they were more interested in serving drinks than dinner. That's ok if you want to be a bar. I always thought this place had something special about it. I had high hope for this place off the Beaten path. Especially since I'm a chef. I looked forward to visiting my sister to bring her her for quality food. Not any more. Decided to stay due it being Valentine's Day. 5 course meal, all with extremely small portions. Had to get a second meal after dinner. The room was freezing to the point I wanted the dinner to end just to get to the warm car. All the food was cold and a whole course was forgotten until we had to ask. I want to start off by saying I would give this place 5 stars but they upset me and I did wait to write this up so bare with me. My husband made reservations in advance for our wedding anniversary and asked for a romantic table overlooking the falls. When we arrived there were two women in front of us that clearly did not have reservations but we're trying to get a table. They spent a lot of time asking a lot of questions and we stood there patiently waiting even though the maître d' did not acknowledge us. When he finally went to take them back to have drinks and apps he noticed me. I explained that we had a reservation my husband had stepped outside for a moment. He looked and said oh yes it's your anniversary happy anniversary I replied with thank you he said please give me a moment might my tables are not ready yet for your timeslot and proceeded to take the women without a reservation around the facility. When he returns he asked if I had scanned the barcode for the menu which I did one another gentleman who walked in about 10 minutes after us decided to interrupt us and start explaining that he knew so and so and that he wanted to table and even though we didn't have a reservation and he was hoping that this guy can help them out. The fact that the maître d' even entertained him and didn't acknowledge us was terrible. The patron was completely rude for interrupting. I turned around and explain to him that it is rude to jump in on someone's conversation and cut in front of people when we obviously been waiting and I was there way before him. The maître d' finally apologized as did the man. He took us outside to a table. Our anniversary was never once brought up again. Although birthdays are celebrated across the restaurant. Now that I got all that out-of-the-way let's talk about the amazing food and wait staff. Dan was our waiter he was super friendly very knowledgeable and helpful when I came to the menu. He's a hard worker and you can tell by the way that he treats his tables. I hope to have him at again as a server in the future. As you can see from the pictures that I posted all the food was excellent. And with the background of the waterfalls and gave a nice romantic feel for the evening. If you have a chance take a walk up the steep stairs and see the falls from the top. my favorite was the tuna it was seasoned perfectly cooked perfectly and paired really well with coleslaw. The cheeseboard is very good. if you order a cheese and a meat they put all these other little treats on for you to make a complete charcuterie board. So like I said I waited to write this review I know I'll be back there however I did not appreciate the maître d' discontinuing our conversation to entertain the gentleman that was behind me and too busy to wait his turn when we quietly waited ours. read more
