Famous for being Warren Buffett's favorite steak house, Gorat's is a memorable experience and an excellent value! The ambiance is a throwback to an upper-middle class steakhouse that doesn't seem to exist anymore. The pictures on the wall provide a glimpse of the rich history of the place. And the retro neon sign on the outside of the place reminds you of the 1950's. The portions are HUGE, and you can probably split one steak and one appetizer between two people. The steak is tasty and tender, with a decent amount of seasoning. While I've had more flavorful steak in my life, I have never had this quality at this low price (and this large portion)! The servers are all extremely helpful, making recommendations and stopping by often. They also told us anecdotes about the Oracle of Omaha and his periodic visits. Well worth the visit. Like many others we came here to see what Warren Buffett eats. So I made a reservation for my anniversary and we were floored when the hostess seated us at THE table that Mr Buffett usually sits at. Mind you it's literally in a room that used to be a closet but who cares?!. We ordered the Porterhouse and split it, adding asparagus for extra veggies. Prices are on par with other steak houses. Service was good. We tipped extra well since we got seated in THE special room

I went to Gorat's with a group of friends for NYE. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server. Ellen was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Service was top notch. Our table shared the calamari and the bruschetta. I'm not a big fan of the calamari but my friends enjoyed it. The bruschetta was perfect and provided large portions. I ordered the 8 oz filet and baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly. The potato was large and well cooked. My husband got the chicken parmesan. The serving was enormous. He enough for another meal. My friends all had the whiskey ribeye and lobster tails. Nobody had leftovers. They all enjoyed their meal.

We chose Gorats for our New Year's Eve dinner and it was a perfect spot! Our server was friendly, paid attention to our order and extras. Portions were huge for the price. I almost needed a bigger plate for just the potato and steak. Huge dining areas and even the lounge was decorated for new years and a set up for people to eat dinner in there. Not too many old steak houses left in Omaha and this is a staple not to pass up.

I took my dear elderly neighbor out for dinner here Saturday after Tgiving. There were many other table celebrating a non- turkey dinner as well. Our waitstaff and front of house were delightful! We started with the truffled and candied bacon billionaire deviled eggs. There were 8 pieces so it is appropriate for 2-8 people to share. I really enjoyed my tender and flavorful whiskey ribeye. My dear neighbor enjoyed her walleye which was served with a butter sauce. She said it was quite rich, so she took half her meal home for dinner the next day.

Busy Valentine's night. There's a noticeable difference between Japanese wagyu and the one we have--you can tell. But I love the wagyu here too; it melts in my mouth. They offer four types of salt, and I feel like there's MSG in one of them, which I loved.

This place has been around for something like 80 years and a well known spot in Omaha. I visited once many years ago and recently stopped in for lunch. On a recent Saturday we were 1 of two tables. But we really enjoyed our coffee and brunch items. The portions were enormous...I recommend splitting brunch items, neither of us could finish our meals. Our waitress was really friendly!

I can understand why this is Warren Buffett's favorite steakhouse. The space is cozy and the food smacks. I enjoyed the jumbo-sized onion rings, which were lightly battered yet crispy and crunchy. Conventional wisdom might tell you not to order a rare ribeye but who cares? Take a look for yourself. The steak was almost too pretty to eat.

Was amazing. Our sever Ellen was great. The food was just want you want out of a steakhouse. I had the whiskey ribeye with the lobster Mac and cheese. Sorry no photo of that. I was so excited I forgot sorry. My husband got the salmon and he loved it. They put us in this little nook with just our table for two. I don't know if it's because of my birthday or not but they also gave me a birthday card. Just had a great time. Can't wait to go back.

My visit here was to pay homage to the place which my grandfather haunted 80 years ago. Looking here, there is a mixture of good and bad reviews of this place. Here is what i recommend as you page through: 1. Ignore Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting reviews. Why one could think they would be qualified to give a review of food or service when they're at a banquet escapes me. 2. Remember Coastal Elites, you are in Nebraska and they don't serve Cortados, La Croix, etc. Keep a open mind (Yes i am a Coastal Semi-elite so i can say that) 3. Gorat's does not need you. 4. If your review begins with, i don't eat steak, or, i am a vegetarian, consider other options. This is an iconic Middle American Steakhouse. Paneled walls, carpeted floors. The food is created without allow of pretense. The service is unpretentious too. Mom's serving steaks. The steak is great. Yes, i know Warren likes the Whiskey glaze. Skip it unless you like teriyaki steak. Go bigger that usual, get it 130 degrees. Yes, get a side of onion rings.

We came as a group of ten to celebrate the birthday. The ambiance was good and we heard this is a classic steak house and has been Warren Buffet 's favorite restaurant at his home town . Service was good and the menu has many great options . I was very disappointed because my steak was way over cooked . I ordered medium rare . Waiter was nice but I may not come back for another celebration.

I normally don't like steak but I thought this steak was really really good. Thai is Warren Buffet's favorite steak house. I can see why! There's a booth of his seat. People reserve it so they can sit in his booth!

    The tempting exterior.

To drink, I ordered the Açaí Cosmopolitan, which was refreshing and well-balanced. For dinner, we shared the crab and sweet corn croquettes, braised short ribs, and scallops. Every dish was excellent. The croquettes were crispy on the outside and packed with flavor, while both the short ribs and scallops were cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. It's always nice to find a restaurant that delivers both great food and a meaningful purpose. Between the delicious meal, thoughtful service, and mission behind the restaurant, Ooh De Lally is absolutely worth a visit.

First, our entrées arrived only about five minutes after the appetizer, even though we had not finished it yet. Second, both entrées arrived cold. I ordered the chicken lasagna, and it tasted reheated and was still cold. My girlfriend's short ribs were the same. We sent both dishes back and ordered burgers instead. I asked for mine medium, but it arrived well-done. What disappointed us the most was that neither the manager nor the chef came to the table to apologize or address the situation. Unfortunately for them, we have both worked in the restaurant industry for years, and we know the proper protocol. At the very least, a manager should approach the table when a guest sends a dish back. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

One of my favorite things about Gather is honestly the staff. Sometimes when you go to a nicer restaurant, the service can feel a little intimidating or overly formal, but that has never been my experience here. The servers are always incredibly friendly, welcoming, and down-to-earth while still being knowledgeable and attentive. It makes the whole experience feel special without making you feel like you have to be on your best behavior just because you're eating somewhere nice. And the food is SO good. This is one of those places where I genuinely feel like you can order almost anything on the menu and be happy. Every dish I've tried has been flavorful, thoughtfully put together, and just really well executed. There's clearly a lot of care that goes into the ingredients and the way everything is prepared. It feels creative and elevated, but not so experimental that you're wondering what you're eating. It's still food you actually want to eat -- just done really, really well. The drinks are great too. They have a really nice selection, and the cocktails feel like they fit the restaurant perfectly: interesting enough to be memorable, but still approachable and actually enjoyable to drink. It's definitely the kind of place where I want to order a cocktail, take my time, and make a whole evening out of dinner. Also, DO NOT leave without going downstairs to see their indoor growing space. They grow leafy greens right there in the restaurant, and it is genuinely so cool to see. It's such a unique little part of the experience and makes you appreciate the whole farm-to-table concept even more when you can literally see some of the food being grown downstairs. Even if you're not normally someone who gets excited about that kind of thing, it's worth checking out. The restaurant itself is also just a really cute spot. It feels nice enough for a date night or special dinner, but still relaxed enough that you could come with friends and have a fun, comfortable night out. Overall, Gather is an easy recommendation for me. Amazing food, great drinks, genuinely kind and friendly service, a beautiful atmosphere, and the bonus of getting to see their indoor farm downstairs. It's one of those restaurants where the whole experience feels thoughtful from beginning to end. Definitely check it out -- and seriously, go downstairs!
