The Buddha Delight is my new favorite!! All delicious vegetables in a light sauce. Of course, I add chile oil and chile sauce to spice it up. Healthy and delicious!!!

So here's the deal. If this place was in the center of say Monterey Park it would not be getting such stars. However, when you're in big bear and want something that isn't pizza, burger, bbq.... Well you get it, there are limited options so this is where we landed. Didn't have high expectations so food was great! Especially the ong choy. Great service too! Friendly staff and it was pretty busy so seems like Big Bear folk enjoy coming here. Not very bright and there are areas that could use updating (there's some mysterious jars on the counter on the way to the restroom, uneven booths, etc) but all in all would come here again for a nice soup if I'm in the area during fall/winter season!

We felt like some Chinese food & decided to visit the Dynasty restaurant for lunch today. We ordered a couple of lovely drinks to start off our visit and to peruse the many paged menu to hunt down our item of choice for today. I ended up with chicken egg foo young, which was delicious. It arrived as expected, but with more to it then I had received at other places in the past. The flavors were good and I see why this restaurant has been around as long as it has has. Everything was delicious! Good portions, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere all contributed to our enjoyable lunch. I would not hesitate to return next time I am hungry for Chinese food in big Bear Lake, California!

Went to Big Bear on Labor day weekend and it was busy at the Village so we walked half a mile to this restaurant. It was surprisingly good (just don't order the lychee martini not good). Had the scrambled egg shrimp, kung pao chicken, salt pepper wings (such a hit), fried rice, beef chowfun. There were only 2 people who worked the tables and the food came out quick

Had to order food to go for 70 folks at a event at the Holiday Inn The Lodge at Big Bear Lake half a mile away. Dynasty came through with 11 trays of food from fried rice, chow mien, tofu dishes and other vegetarian stir fry options. All the food was eaten. While I'm not a Big Bear local, I will dare to say this is the best option for Chinese food in Big Bear??? Sorry, no food pics but just have a photo of the rear entry from the parking lot.

We walked in and it was a huge restaurant! Very clean and friendly staff. We ordered the won ton soup and it was hot and hearty on a cold day! We also got the fried rice with orange chicken and it was delicious and served hot! We really liked the food and the ambiance! We will definitely come back when we go to Big Bear!

Surprisingly good Chinese food in the area. Smaller portions for the entree plates. Recommend this place if craving Chinese food up in Big Bear. Plenty of seats and ample parking spaces in the back. Friendly servers.

My husband and I ordered take-out for Beef Broccoli and Orange Peel Chicken for $40.80. I didn't realize they also packed a box of white rice until I got home and it was a nice surprise. The food was delicious and tasty. I highly recommend coming in for the luncheon before 3pm. I didn't realize they offered it until I grabbed a pamphlet. I arrive at 3:04pm on Thursday. I wished I came a little before 3pm to try the lunch menu. Overall, good experience.

I came in for lunch and had a nice meal. When I first walked in the front patio seemed very scrappy and dirty, but walked into a nice large restaurant with many large comfortable booths & tables. It was two in the afternoon on Wednesday, and I was the only one there. I started with a lychee martini and I must say, it had a very strange taste. I didn't quite recognize it because it did not taste like lychee should. I switched to a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Then I started with the cucumber salad, which was nice. Prepared with a nice garlic sauce with big chunks. Then I ordered the chicken curry and although it was pretty darn good, it did not really have that much curry flavor, which was disappointing. There was a lot of tender chicken in it so overall it was a very good dish. I just wanted more curry flavor. Pretty decent prices with large portions. Service was friendly and efficient. Very large menu.

It was my third time visiting Big Bear Lake so it was finally time to try some local Chinese food. Dynasty is located on the long street that pretty much everything is on, making it pretty easy to find. This large restaurant has a ton of seating and a fairly annoying parking lot where giant pickup trucks park like morons making it hard for the regular vehicle to park, which is not Dynasty's fault, just something I wanted to point out. We came here on a Friday night and they had a decent amount of people here with a friendly staff to serve them. The menu has everything you would expect. It's got a bunch of different veggie, beef, chicken, pork, and seafood dishes for everyones hunger. Being a sucker for a rice dish, I went with the shrimp fried rice with what I think was also chicken in it. The food didn't take long to come out and I've gotta say, it was a fairly underwhelming rice dish. The shrimp and chicken itself was fine, but the rice was a tad on the dry side and for a dish I order pretty regularly, it was just fine and nothing more. Overall, you don't have a ton of options for Chinese food on the mountain and if you are craving it, Dynasty is a solid enough place to scratch that itch. Although it wasn't the best I've had around, it was decent, tasted alright, and that's still better than some I've had.

There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.

We're a family of four with a well-behaved standard poodle, so we completely understood that our seating options were limited. What we didn't understand was watching two other families with dogs arrive after us and get seated well before us, along with what felt like half of Big Bear. Our "table is ready" text finally arrived 53 minutes after we joined the waitlist. If the real wait is an hour, just say an hour. At least then we could have taken our dog for a hike, grabbed lunch somewhere else, and possibly returned in time for our table.

The fact that it's all the way in Big Bear makes it even more surprising because the fish is always so fresh and the flavors are, of course, amazing. The fish, flavors, and toppings all work so well together. I love everything about this bowl and find myself thinking about it even when I'm nowhere near Big Bear. I'm also glad they were able to move into a bigger location because the old one was much smaller. It can still get PACKED though. On our most recent visit, we came around 3:30 pm on a Monday during the last week of December and waited about 45 minutes to order, then another 20 minutes for our food. They have a self-order kiosk now, which helps keep things moving, but I'd still be prepared for a wait when it's busy. Considering how good the food is, I completely understand why so many people are here. The staff deserves a mention too. They're always so kind, welcoming, and high-energy, which makes the experience even better despite how busy it can get. I seriously love Tropicali. For a restaurant in a touristy area, it still lands at a solid 3.5 to 4 stars, but the experience has definitely taken a step back. Cleanliness - there's a fly constantly going up and down the window we sat next to. It was getting a lot of my attention but alas I did not have a fly swatter. Lucky sob!!! Food - portion sizes felt smaller. While Indian dishes aren't typically huge, the presentation this time made them look a bit meager--it could be the dinnerware, the presentation? I don't know. Flavor-wise, something has changed for the worse. The Chicken Tikka Masala was decent, but lacked the rich depth and spice profile of our previous visits. The Fish Vindaloo suffered a similar fate. It wasn't bad, but it lacked that bold, signature Indian flavor. Also, using salmon felt like a misstep; its strong flavor tends to clash with vindaloo spices rather than absorb them. Side note, this dish was not at all spicy. And the server never asked us about the spiciness level of any of the dishes we ordered. Maybe they only offer non-spicy for all their dishes?? The same vindaloo dish at our favorite Indian restaurant in L.A. is very spicy and full of other favors. Service was just ok. The restaurant was quiet, with far more empty tables than occupied ones, yet the food took quite a while to come out. At one point, at least four servers were standing around the counter watching the dinning hall. Yet, other than delivering the food, no one came to any of the tables to check on them once the food had been delivered. Multiple times nearby tables waved their hands in the air to get attention after they got their food. We overheard one young man asking for hot sauce and chuckled - so someone else wanted their food spicier, too! Come here if you REALLY love touristy/Americanized Indian or want some vegetarian choices. Personally, I'll find dinner elsewhere next time in Big Bear.

Each combo meal comes with rice, lentil, naan, salad or Raita. We had (1) Chicken Curry with Raita. Raita was very watery. As was the lentil. Lentil was also watery. The chicken curry was good. (2) Tandoori chicken with salad. The salad was the better choice than Raita. The Tandoori chicken was good. Again the lentil was too watery. The rice and naan were good. We also had the mango lassi, which is a shake with yogurt and mango. It was delicious but I wish it had come earlier (while I was waiting for my food). The drink did not come until after my food has arrived. Service was adequate. Nothing exceptional but gets the job done. Portion size was good.
