Hit this spot for breakfast on our way out of town. It is less crowded than other spots which is a plus. The food came out quickly and the service was great, everyone was so nice. There's a nice bar area and a ton of booths. The food was really good!! I had the California omelette which was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak, he loved it (and he's super picky about his chicken fried steaks lol). I had a little bit of the gravy which I can attest was amazing. I'm really glad we stopped here.

Great dinner deal!!! People!! Sunday nights are 2 for 1 prime rib dinner!! Delicious! Everything we ordered was delish! Great service and friendly staff! Clam chowder was yum! The sausage plate was excellent with so many sides and accoutrements! Sauerkraut, cabbage, etc.. The prime rib was perfect! What a deal. Sunday night special! . A must in BB for a lovely dinner!

Came here with a large group of guys and honestly it was much better than I expected. We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly and attentive. He made sure that all of our orders were correct. We had a group of 12 and service didn't feel that slow. I got the breakfast brat and it was good. It wasn't the most amazing breakfast I ever had, but it was a great experience nonetheless.

    Got with steak today, delicious

I don't know what happened, but I came in for dinner and the salad was delicious. The baked potato was great, but the ribs were not just overdone, They were cremated. On the top that was visible you could see the barbecue sauce and some Chow that was fine but they were so dry. Khunt forgot why they were just dry as can be. I mean the meat was dead dry well when I turned them over I discovered the entire backside was not just charged. It was burned to a crisp. If you order the ribs, make sure you tell them to make sure they're not cremated. The barbecue sauce was delicious and had these not been destroyed. I think they would've been great.

A must for couples and friends. We really enjoyed their prime rib dinner for two! Served with soup or salad, a side, vegetables and a huge piece of delicious prime rib' make sure you go on a Sunday! Service was excellent and the waitstaff are very friendly. Fun quirky atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in a cabin in the woods. Would highly recommend.

Whenever we go somewhere, we can't help but try out "German" cuisine. This restaurant has many different options, which sometimes is a red flag... but we were pleasantly surprised. All of our dishes were delicious. There were locals here on a Saturday night which is always a good sign. We'll definitely add this to our yearly Big Bear restaurant rotation. Cheers!

    Super dog friendly!

Delicious food and terrific service! The eggs Benedict were absolutely amazing and so was the coffee. We originally came because of the great reviews about how dog-friendly this place is, and they were 100% accurate. They truly welcome dogs, which made our experience even better. We loved everything about our visit and will definitely be back!

Also my a1 sauce I asked for and got in like 2 seconds

Asking for some dairy free milk for my coffee and got my almond milk. Immediate coffee refill and so sweet when I asked for more almond milk

It was nice, our group must have gotten there at the breakfast rush since it was a bit of a wait to get seated. After being seated and ordering which didn't take long at all it was worth the wait. I got the California omelette which was good I wouldn't say great, but I did enjoy the country potato side that came with it. The inside was nice and decorated as one would expect in a mountain town basic bear skin on the wall and antler lamps. The staff seemed nice and attentive and friendly overall I would go back and try other items like lunch or dinner.

Stopped in for breakfast and was greeted by Jolinda, the owner. So welcoming and sweet. Food was yummy. Atmosphere very nice... beautiful inside. Nice patio (had our dog, Willie). Jolinda even brought Willie a treat. Had such a nice visit with her and a good breakfast. We'll be back!

Wait time on a Sunday was the best in town, the place was cozy and the bathroom was decent and clean. Patio was great for our dog. The staff were friendly. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. Gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

Really beautiful atmosphere here with all the cool decorations and comfortable booths. Our group came here for breakfast heading out of Big Bear and really enjoyed ourselves like we always do. The portions are abundant and food. Excellent. Deana took great care of us! Really tasty bloody Mary mix! The biscuits and gravy are extremely addictive!

A Mimosa Flight at night Grapefruit, pomegranate, orange and raspberry

Old Country Inn ALWAYS BOMB! The Mimosa fight is delicious. We had the flight...at night. Full rack of baby back Ribs, Country fried steak with Gravy. Best Gravy I'm telling you. The place is comfortable, and great service A+

There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.

Brought the stroller in without any trouble, which is always a win. The atmosphere is what gets you first. Food was delicious and the beers on tap are a great selection to pair with it. Service was attentive and the vibe is comfortable for families without feeling like a kids' spot. Everything from the bathroom to the lobby to the little dining room is really tricked out nicely. This place probably is more of a bar for beer and they happen to do food also. In the indoor dining room they have four televisions with the latest sporting events going. When we were there, two of the TVs were tuned to the pre-All-Star game, one was the NBA Summer league and the final one was to some Spanish station that had some type of soap opera /talk show going on. The wife ordered the declaration burger and I ordered the Californication burger. They both came with french fries. The one thing we both noted was the cold buns. This really immediately made the burger not that appealing. Both burgers were cooked to order. I can talk directly to mine. It was a good burger with an Ortega green chili on it piece of cheese two piece of bacon and shredded lettuce and some diced tomatoes. Unfortunately having a cool doughy bun on a hot burger just didn't do it. The wife complained of the exact same thing. The french fries were hot, but they were nothing to write home about. No seasoning or anything like that. They were not very busy when we walked in three tables going. The service was slow because our server was talking to some friend at the end of the bar who appeared to be an employee on break. They have a great concept and with a little effort and attention to detail the food could be outstanding. With all the competition going on in the village, we were really looking for so much more. We thought we were gonna be getting a Great light designer burger, that really wowed us with taste. But that didn't happen. Might give it a try again. We're making a point to try to hit every single place in the village and the surrounding area.

Patty greeted us when we came in the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was lovely, very attentive and helpful. Her sister owns the place. She even gave us scads of recommendations for other local places to try and things to do. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with a side house salad while I got the scallop fettuccine dish and splurged the $3 extra to get their Caesar salad (totally worth it, made in house). Everything is made to order and each dinner came with a board of homemade bread and house made butter for the table. Folks. That bread. Was So Good. Soft and tasty and the parmesan, garlic, parsley butter melted right on it. There was something that didn't hit my palate right on my dish, so Patty offered to get me something else. I decided against that (because the scallops themselves were stellar) but I agreed to some extra Alfredo sauce to mellow out the flavors in the pasta, which worked great! When she learned it was our anniversary, Patty gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house the likes of which I have never tasted before. I don't order cheesecake often, but this was beautifully creamy and sweet. If you want to support local businesses, I highly recommend Jakobe's. They're good people who cook great food and care about their community. SUPPORT LOCAL! DON'T LET THE CHAINS WIN!
