This is a condensed version of my experience with E&A 808 Repair. My Dell laptop that cost me over $2,000. only needed a CPU fan, so I called this business and October 24 2025, Eric picked my computer up from the house and I gave him the nonrefundable $100. in cash as per his terms. I asked him to be careful with my PC as it was in perfect condition as he put it in the back of his vehicle on top and among other PCs and things to my disbelief. When he brought it back November 5, 2025, I gave him $109. in cash and asked for a receipt. I discovered the next day that the new fan made a lot of noise so I called him and November 17 he picked the computer up from the house. Again I asked him to be careful with it but it went back into his vehicle on top of PCs and things. November 24th he returned it, handed it to me and drove off. I went inside turned it on and not only did the fan still make the same noise, I got one critical message after another and could not get the laptop to load up. I called Eric immediately and said I just want you to know that I just turned my computer on and I am getting one critical message after another and it will not load up/turn on and I don't want to talk right now as I am very upset/angry about losing my computer and I hung up. Eric called back and I picked up and said the same thing and hung up. He called again and I did not pick up and he left a threatening message and repeated it 3 times. He said that I was rude and not a nice person and I was not to contact his company ever again or he would call the police and press charges for harassment and would never do work for me again. How convenient to ruin my expensive laptop both physically and mechanically and get $209. in cash and then renege on his 6 months warranty and threaten me! For the record I always treated Eric with respect and never used vulgar/foul language even when he ruined my PC. He always seemed to be on edge and ready to argue as I bit my tongue numerous times to avoid arguing on what he said or how he said something, he was consistently late on pick up/drop off, he does not take care of or respect customer's PCs from what I saw and experienced as he piled them in the back of his vehicle without any padding/protection. He scratched and scuffed up the outer case of my Dell laptop that was in perfect condition in which I was not able to get them out. He had my computer tied up for a month when he told me the replacement fan would only take a few days. I have tried to keep this short but there is so much more. Please read ALL the reviews on Yelp and the BBB before deciding on a business to repair your electronics and I would recommend a company that is BBB accredited. read more

Cats dropped my PS5 and damaged the HDMI port I contacted uBreakiFix and they said it would take 2 weeks to repair for $200, I then contacted Eric at E&A 808 Repair and he said he could get it done within 24 hours and he delivered 10/10 recommended the repair was $165 plus rush order fee which was $50 and he repaired the Liquid Metal and gave me great knowledge on exactly what it does and how to prevent it from happening again the Liquid Metal as an extra $25 but all in all its still better than buying a whole new console read more

I contacted E&A repair to fix a PS5 console and was quoted $175, which I agreed to. When I got my console back, I noticed scratches and what looked like grease on it. Eric claimed it was dropped off like that (which it wasn't) he also charged me $200 ($25 extra) and said he made a mistake and mixed up the price with another console he had to repair. After a lot of yelling and arguing, he agreed to bring new skins to replace my scratched one. Against my better judgement, I just paid him the $200 plus tax to get my console back and now he is not returning the $25 he overcharged me and not replying about the new panels he promised to replace the one he damaged. My hdmi port broke for my Xbox series X the very moment I had my gaming set up in my room. Initially, I was going to repair it myself until I looked it up on youtube, then BOOM, I was lost for words. Fast forward, I googled around and stumbled upon E&A 808 Repair. I called at 8:00 pm even though closing hours was 7:00 pm -- Eric answered! You can gauge the quality of a person's customer service by their attitude nearing or after shop hours -- Eric was polite, engaging, and listened intently to my needs! I quickly set up an appointment with him. Eric is very professional and responsive. For the labor required, Eric's price was very reasonable! He does pick up and drop off. Eric quoted me a week for return time, but got it done in 5 days! He called me immediately and we scheduled a pick-up. All in all, I would go to Eric for any console repair. I had tried this businesses service months before finally writing this review because I have only now gotten around to fixing my PC tower. This business had advertised on their website that there is a free diagnostic available if you ask for service but it isn't exactly the traditional definition of "free". What he meant by free was that if I was to follow through with a repair that I would get the diagnostic charged docked off of the rest of the final charge. That wasn't stated anywhere visibly on the front page of their website at the time I had screenshotted their website. Only the alluring possibility of a free diagnostic. Probably was a fault on my part because no service is free and I would've had no problem with this service if it was even accurate. Earlier this month I actually took my PC tower into Best Buy and bought their diagnostic and servicing package for a year. I had told them what I had been told by this service stating that my motherboard was diagnosed as the problem. I get a phone call two days later from Best Buy saying the motherboard is in perfect working condition and it's the power supply that was making my PC continuously crash. (By the way the diagnostic first time fee for Best Buy is only 45 dollars if you just wanted a diagnostic). So on top of this diagnostic being wrong from this service, I was also charged 100 dollars which I was apparently contractually obligated to pay. The original price of the "bench fee and diagnostic" was actually 125 dollars but he threw in a "first time discount" of 25 dollars off. If you're having a problem just go to Best Buy it's literally way more cost effective and accurate. (Also if you think this review is fake and where is my proof that Best Buy said the power source is the problem I'd be more than happy to get their copy of my paper work for my PC stating the problem was the power supply) Thank you~! (Edit: I didn't even get to mention the part where he quoted a 425 dollar estimate for replacing my supposedly broken motherboard which by the way is just horrendously overpriced. You can purchase a compatible motherboard with your PC parts and a good one at that for like 125 dollars and take it to Best Buy to get the hardware installed if you can't do it yourself. On a side note his contract mentioned that you aren't allowed to "be belligerent" whatever being belligerent is defined as, or else you would be charged extra for "being belligerent".) read more

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE, long story short, eric picked up my pc for a diagnosis on march 14th, then didn't diagnose it for about a week and half and then decided to get to it once i wanted it back in which he also delayed dropping it off 3 times at least and charged a family member $75 for being belligerent. after we were already pissed its been taking this long. he would refuse to give the pc back if we didn't give him $75. cops were called and ended up paying $75 for this guy to stop yapping for 30 mins straight about his policy and blah blah blah. he takes his sweet ass time does a shit job took him a day to even figure out how to duplicate it after i told him what to do. he got a few loose screws read more

My first encounter with E&A was via a request for a quote on my handy-dandy yelp app. Response time was quick, and I stopped by the kiosk the next day. My computer had been making really loud fan-noises and I asked Eric to order the parts to make angry laptop happy. He asked for a deposit to order the parts and told me it would be a couple of days, and that he would call when it came in. When he called 2 days later, I was able to drop off my laptop and pick it up within an hour. Upon pick up, he gave me my a receipt and told me to hold on to it, as the warranty lasts for 6 months and you need the receipt. The angry sound was no more, and I left with a much happier laptop. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I had a mishap where my laptop (in the computer bag) fell and hit the corner where the power button is. After my previous interactions with Eric, I was confident in returning to see if he could help with this new situation. His first reaction was "oh no, is everything ok?" but he was reassured when I showed him the problem. Eric took the time to trouble shoot it, take the laptop apart, look up replacement parts and when I asked him to do a simple work-around, he actually figured out how to fix it and ensure I don't get a stuck power button again. I'd say at least 30, but possibly 45 minutes of his time was spent fixing the dented corner and hardware. I thought for sure I was going to have to shell out some money to replace the damage, but thankfully Eric was able to save me the money and headache, and didn't charge me for a repair fix I would've happily paid for. Eric resurrected my PS4 by installing a new laser. While there, I also had him replace my iPhone screen protector with a much better one. After observing his work, I have other projects I plan to bring him. The level of customer service I received was phenomenal! It was a Saturday & he welcomed me to stay/watch him do the fix. I wasn't expecting same-day service so that was a huge plus. While he worked, we had so many great conversations, making this visit to his business more like hanging out with a buddy. Speaking of his establishment, it is located within a storage facility. He suped it up to where it's like a cool man/woman cave. If it will help you in finding Eric, I admit I had to circle around a bit because I must have overlooked that he is located at the storage complex. So when my GPS said that I arrived, I was confused because all I saw was the storage place. Excellent customer service from Eric the owner, as I got my PS2 saved from the grave!! After almost 20 years(!) I was worried I'd never get to play this classic console again (as well as the disc stuck inside) as it no longer could power on. Here I thought ohh no, will I really have to shop around for a replacement console? Enter E&A 808. When I found Eric (originally in `Ohana Hale Marketplace), he took a look at it and said he could repair it for a VERY reasonable estimate. As indeed the only game console repair guy on the island (I didn't even know there was such a service), his knowledge on fixing consoles was exceptional. Sure enough a few weeks later when he got around to working on my PS2 (once he settled in his current location in Mililani Tech Park) he diagnosed that it was a power supply issue and that the work could be done. Went ahead and ordered the part, then some time later got back to me that it was ready for pickup! Tested it out and sure enough my PS2 was resurrected from the dead!! Yay! So if you ever want/need your old, classic game console repaired for ANY reason before sending it off to e-heaven, give Eric a holler and he most definitely would be the (only) guy for the job to get your gaming life back!! Dropped my iphone & the entire screen shattered - this never happened to me before so I was happen that I didn't have to replace the whole phone! My mother and I was in the ward area and decided to go check out the Ohana Marketplace. E&A is located to the left as you enter the main entrance of Ohana Marketplace. I walked up to the booth and politely asked the man behind the work seat if he repairs shattered iPhone screens, he was very nice and said he'd like to take a look at phone before commiting to an answer. He looked at my phone and said he could fix it. He quoted me a price and I found it reasonable as I had already made a few calls around previously to get an idea of how much it would cost me IF it was fixable. He then, whom I found out by that time that "he" was the owner, said that it would be about 30 minutes. I also mentioned that my speaker was soft so he said he'd take a look at it for me. When I returned to the booth, my phone was fixed, my speaker was louder, & I was a very happy person! I highly recommend E&A - very nice owner, good work, timely, and very honest! I called this company hoping to find some help with a Sony DAT player/recorder that hadn't been used for many years and the gears were frozen. Since there aren't any real tape recorder repair people on Oahu, this guy was my last hope and he did sound like he could repair my deck when I talked to him on the phone. Driving from Hawaii Kai to Millilani is no easy drive and when I got to his establishment, I was very leary, to say the least. I don't mind that his business is in a converted storage unit. I've gone to other repair people with a lot worse. But my suspicions about his abilities to fix my deck started when he literally doused my entire deck with a toxic spray to rid whatever Covid germs might be on it. Honestly, a good wipe would have done it without possibly ruining the gears in my deck entirely. After about a week, I gave him a call to see if he'd been able to fix my deck. He hadn't but would "get to it today (Friday) or Saturday." Calling him after the weekend, he basically told me he couldn't make any headway and he might have to buy some WD40 to get the gears running. WD40!!! This isn't a bicycle chain needing to be freed up, it's an expensive tech machine!! He asked if I wanted him to try and fix it. I said, no, I'd come and get it. Covered with white residue from the spray he doused my machine with, I picked it up hoping he didn't ruin the whole deck. I will try to fix it myself, which I probably should have tried to do in the first place rather than trust it to that Neanderthal. My provider doesn't offer repairs but replacements and errrrm I don't know about you, but it's not like I have a spare grand lying around so, alternate money saving options activate! The first time i went to booth #197 " E&A Repair, located inside the Ohana Hale Marketplace over on Ward Ave; Eric, the owner of the business, gave me a quote on what he would charge me for replacing my cell phone battery a couple months ago. When i went back to get service done he claimed that he didn't remember agreeing to that price. When i tried to talk to him about what he said, he became annoyed and snapped at me. Name calling started towards me as well. He became heated and short tempered and demanded that i leave or he would call the cops and have security escort me out! I felt disrespected, and feel he was being extremely rude and unprofessional. Having this kind of experience made me to never want to go back to his business nor recommend it to anyone. I was shocked and embarrassed by the whole situation. This incident occurred on Saturday May 11th. May 13th, to your response: We could view the security camera footage together!!Every word and action for Saturday is on there! The first time I paid for it you quickly brushed me off without giving me a paper receipt! Nor, have it send the receipt to my email Or text message to my phone. You did not let me have any record or evident lol. Luckily, I used my credit card! And my information are in your iPad system. And you did not even ask me to go home and come back with a receipt as you've stated!!! You fabricated that entire story. You're a liar and being a dishonest business man, you're crooked and a manipulative person , With a hot temper and a short fuse! Eric, you knew that you did me wrong . He did a great job diagnosing the issue with my computer and replacing the parts that needed replacing. He installed around $400 worth of parts for $525, which is a fair price. The turnaround was average, but could have been faster of he had more space for an inventory. Everything was fine until I turned the machine on at home, and found that the windows activation was no longer valid, and I needed to replace the license I had on the other motherboard. It would have been nice if he had done a more thorough check of the system before handing back. It's $200 to replace the license I had, so I ended up spending about twice the cost of parts ($725 for $400 worth of parts) for what should have been a straightforward upgrade. read more

The owner quoted me a very low price on a replacement phone screen and he told me he had it in stock and said he could do it quickly. I got there and he proceeded to tell me a confusing story of how this was going to work. He said - he has to send the screen in and then they send a replacement refurbished screen and if the existing screen was damaged It is not possible to get the lower price. In stead of getting the phone back the same day , he told me he would give me a loaner and it would take more than a week to get my phone back. I took the loaner, but later on that day I figured out it was some type of "bait and switch". I called him and told him I wanted my phone back. He then told me he needs $100 in cash to get the phone back and no credit card. He was afraid I would reverse the charges. He also showed me my phone and damaged the battery by poking a hole in it. At the time I though no big deal. When I took it to TCA wireless. They told me I needed a new battery because the old one could explode after being damaged. TCA wireless replaced the screen and battery the same day without some type of song and dance about charges. TCA also sold me a terrific case so I dont crack my screen again. read more

He can even upgrade things to make them better. I have seen him working on an old school Mortal Combat video game arcade machine and saw him add even more games to it! This was so cool! It's good to know that we have a local, small business at Ohana Hale Marketplace that can repair anything. It's also awesome to know you are supporting a local family when you come here instead of a bigger chain store. His prices are really good too and he is pretty quick to repair items. *WARNING* Do not go to this guy for iPhone 8 screen repairs or ANY REPAIRS. Not only is he mentally unstable and awkward, but he does not know how to provide adequate customer service. Im posting from anonymous for my own safety but "eric" knows exactly who this is. Do not confront the little guy, he has a short fuse and definitely no education, because he couldn't even come up with a legitimate argument. He even felt threatened by me taking a picture of him, probably because he knew I would put him on blast. So I went to apple last night to get my phone checked, since after going to this location twice, the same problem kept occuring. The screen would turn on, and then go black eventually, but the backlight would still be illuminated. I got a diagnosis from apple that said the reason why the phone was malfunctioning was because of water damage due to no display adhesive and a few screws missing. They suggested I go to the 3rd party (eric) and get a refund because the phone was not salvageable due to "eric" putting it back together improperly. Because it was not salvageable, I swapped my phone in to get a cheaper new phone. Today I went in to see "Eric", put the paper down, and told him to read it. He insisted that Apple was LYING, and said that I could have also taken in a different phone to get a fake diagnosis to get a refund. This guy is a lunatic. I dont even need the money, I just went in to see the type of customer service I would get, to compensate for his inadequate repair. But, instead of apologizing, "eric" goes on to accuse apple of lying or me swapping out the phone. How can he argue that apple is lying? I went to him TWICE and the same issue occured, so I decided to take it in to the manufacturer themselves. Eric starts getting rowdy and defensive, for I dont know what reason since all I asked for was a refund or good customer service.. but it probably was because he is cheap and unprofessional. It got to the point where the manager and security of the overall place comes because he made it into a bigger scene than it really is. Eric started getting out of hand when I was taking a picture of him to document what he looks like, since I no longer felt safe in his presence. He goes on to tell me that I need to leave, when I told him I wasnt even in his store. He tried getting management and security to kick me out, but they also understood my side, and found it bizarre how he was behaving and handling the situation. They told me I could stay, take pictures, do whatever I got to do since I was not getting a refund and Eric was not willing to resolve the situation. I kept telling him how I didnt care about the money, just customer service, and he kept yelling "then why are you here!?" And sadly the reality is I was mainly there to see his customer service. Since it is so poor, I hope no one encounters this kook. If Eric's reasoning made sense, I could see why i would not be granted a refund. But how he handles the situation, by blowing up, and accusing me the customer or apple for lying, just goes to show how irrational he is. According to him, for any refund, I would need to bring in my old phone so he could take a look at it and see if it matches Apple's diagnosis. My reaction was, what would that do? Then you can lie to me too... You tried twice and you failed, so who do you think I will believe? The guy who screwed up twice or the manufacturer themselves? He goes on to say he could maybe fix it, but why would I give him another chance? The fact is, im not going to believe anything that he says at this point because he couldn't even come up with a logical excuse to not give me a refund. If his reasoning made sense and he was apologetic then that would have been a whole different story. But to accuse the customer or apple of lying is delusional, and goes to show how poor he is at providing customer service and interacting with others. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Not only is Eric mentally unstable and aggressive, but he will rip you off. Besides the point, the screen protector he charged me for, turned out to be plastic... should've guessed . Reply to "Eric" 10% off if customers show this review... how pathetic. Shows your desperate need for customers. It'll cost them more when you mess up their phones. If I was the one being out of hand, they would have escorted me out or told me to leave... but they didnt. They told me to stay and take pics and do what I gotta do to resolve the situation. Hell, you're so cheap even if I brought in my old phone you would probably accuse me of doing something to it or lying about it... . My dad had issues with his iPhone where sometimes the touch screen would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I gave Eric a call and he immediately told me that it sounds like "touch disease" and that it was a common issue with the model of phone that my dad had and that he had already come across a few other clients that had the same issue. Let me first start off with prices that the owner Eric offers... its truly hands down the most reasonable and best price in town... Ummm, Eric seems like a nice guy, BUT, he wasn't exactly honest with me and didn't seem to know some real basic stuff about electronics. Really disappointed. I can't recommend him. Not to be trusted, unfortunately. He didn't do anything to help me and just wasted my time and dicked me around. Perhaps there are better, honest electronic repair places on Oahu. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! My boyfriend and I came in with our laptop which had an unmountable volume boot problem. When we first came in eric the owner was polite at first. We decided to give him the computer he didn't even gave us a receipt or anything even though I asked for one ( ALREADY A RED FLAG). He told my boyfriend over the phone that the something else was wrong which was the mother board so we were like ok fix. We fixed it, we showed up to the place and he told us he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so he went on a "PROFESSIONAL" FACEBOOK GROUP and went off the comments his "colleges" gave him. We brushed it off because we thought it was fixed, we drove an hour to get back home just to find out that the hard drive was missing so we texted him he told us we had to drop it off so we took another hour drive for horrible service the second time we dropped off our laptop he had a nasty attitude. Made us drive over there for a mistake HE made. Second time picking up our laptop we went to go pick up our laptop and we were standing there in front of his business while he was watching a movie and eating. He gave us our laptop back but the USB ports are not outlined with the laptop's shell, it's difficult to put in the cable, the computer is running slow and the mouse is not even working good at this point we paid $300 for shitty service, bad communication, and unprofessional services. Very informative and immediately gave me more information in our brief conversation than hours of YouTube surfing and Google searching had provided me. Explained what could potentially be the cause of my game console issues and provided me with a fair and reasonable estimate to repair the unit.
