Came here after having acceleration issues with my van. Ed was very generous with his time, asking many questions like a good doctor - trying to discern what the issue might be from my answers about the van's noises, behavior, history, etc.. Just after he started to speculate I might need a new transmission, he discovered my transmission fluid to be super low, and advised me to first just go down to O'Reilly's and pick up and pour in a quart or two of new fluid. He thought this might solve my issue without needing any actual work. And then I rode off and did just that! He never asked for a dime for his time! He also found another leak and quickly found the needed part and gave us a quick quote so we can make a decision. He's an honest hardworking man. The plastic shield under my car was beginning to break, and I wanted a fix so I could continue driving to work each day. I called a few places that said they could get me in later this week, but E&E told me I could come right over for them to check it out. I got there, he immediately identified the issue, and climbed under my car and fixed it within 5 minutes. What was estimated to be a $100 repair at other places was a 5 minute, $10 repair here. I only had a few bucks on hand, and he told me I could bring him the $10 at my own time! I immediately went to an ATM and brought back a $20. Extremely nice guy, very laid back and helpful. I am a youngish woman with little experience owning and maintaining a car. I spent close to 3 weeks calling around trying to get my car fixed and also gain some understanding of what the issue was. Ed responded with lightening speed to resolve and help me with my car issues. Ed/E&E were on top and got the job done quickly. Very unprofessional, I brought him a very expensive automobile and he tried to fix it without having the proper tools or knowledge to do so. On top of that he tried to overcharge even after I had to literally guide him step by step in order to finish the repair correctly. He should have payed me for teaching him how to fix luxury cars. I had a parking accident and smashed my right side mirror (2011 Toyota Camry). I found Ed on Google, called and was able to bring my vehicle in same day. He made sure to give me an estimate of the pricing before we agreed to anything. Ed Evans at E&E Automotive is an extremely honest and expert mechanic - a combination that is rare these days. I accidentally snapped off my hazard light switch on the side of the steering wheel of my 1997 Cadillac DeVille. It's an old and rare part to replace. I went to two different Cadillac repair specialists on the Westside of L.A. and both estimated it would cost at least $500 - $700 to find the part and insert it back in. Both places said they'd have to dismantle the whole steering wheel and buy another steering column along with the hazard switch as both parts are typically attached and sold together. Thank God I finally found Ed at E & E Automotive in Santa Monica near my house. He quickly called his salvage yard contacts, located the hazard light switch for $50 and when the part arrived offered to install it for free. My hazard lights now work perfectly. The guy is amazing. He's so knowledgeable and again sooooo honest! He also took the time to offer up some other expert mechanic tips on some other problematic features of my aging Cadillac. Taken my '93 Coupe de Ville there numerous times. Ed, who runs the place grew up around fixing these beasts and also worked for Martin Cadillac before starting this place. He knows ALL about these fine old cars, can fix anything and is honest and reasonably priced. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed for the first time this morning regarding a couple problems with my 2003 Buick Century. Consistent with the other reviewers, I can confirm that Ed was a pleasure to deal with, he obviously knows Buicks and he clearly explained potential issues that were affecting my car. Now I am a usually a pretty mechanical guy but I had missed that one of the problems was caused by no more than a broken plastic switch. Ed pointed that out to me and told me all I needed was to replace the part. A dishonest mechanic could have made something up and charged me for the repair. Not Ed. This is a knowledgeable, honest guy who understands how to treat his customers. In today's world, places like this are few and far between.
