This is probably the worst credit union, sometimes they have two staff members to attend the customers, only open 3 days per week having covid as an excuse, their computers not working many times, and their glitchy app and website it's definitely not the best, but the worst part is that they are rude over the phone. I had the pleasure of working with Erwin and Tracy on the refi. of my mortgage. I have had 2 positive interaction on auto loans from this bank before. I moved far out to the I.E. but because of such a great experience I called them up to do the refi. They did not disappoint. I had called multiple (10) other sources to get quotes. None of them came close to there rates as well as there service. Seriously amazing people to work with. They were not pushy and only suggested things when it would truly benefit me. Had a savings account as a backup with them, however since the interest rates were so low, I changed to a bank with a 4.1% interest rate instead (more money in my pocket). I kept the account open because despite not having convenient locations to make the occasional cash deposit, I thought I could use them for a lower interest rate when applying for a used car loan. Their site advertises 6.24% APR for those with excellent credit (which I have). So when I was told my rate would be 8.5% I asked why and was told it was because of my relationship with them not being my primary bank. So I told the loan officer I was going to close the account, to which she was unphased, and I followed through. The account doesn't suit me and I was being charged fees monthly for being below a monthly balance. I only gave them a second star because when interacting in person, the staff is really friendly and efficient. read more

I have been a member of e-Central Credit Union for close to 40 years. During that period they financed 5 of the 6 cars I purchased during that period and I have never had any problems what so ever with their service. They even agreed to suspend my payments during a critical period during the height of the recent covid-19 pandemic. Loan officer Sayra Paniagua did an excellent job processing the loan for vehicle I purchase in last month. I was put on a waiting list for the Vehicle in January but the vehicle wasn't delivered to the dealer until may. The original loan expired after 60 days and I had to reapply. When vehicle arrived, the dealer gave me 24 hour notice on the delivery. I contacted Sayra she provided a list of the Documents she needed, I sent them to her that evening and my loan was approved the following morning. The entire process including electronic signing the the documents was done from my computer. The entire process was handled perfectly. read more

Compared to other credit unions or even big banks, Ecentral is awful. Typical phone wait time to speak to a representative, regardless of type of inquiry is about 20 to 30 minutes. If you deposit a check through your mobil device, expect to wait about a week before it clears and it's available for use. Costumer reps are rude. Never dealt with them in person since the account was opened through an employer but online and phone service is a joke. read more

The 5 star is strictly for their car loan process. We had gone to a dealer and were quoted an outrageous monthly payment without the dealer even checking our credit. Overwhelmed with our day at the dealer, we decided to apply for a loan through our credit union. From there everything went smoothly. We ended up with Sayra as our loan officer and she was the BEST. She introduced to Greg who helped us find a great car through the credit union. Greg listened to our needs and although we ended up with a car that we hadn't even considered, it checked off all the boxes on what we were looking for. There are too many cars out in the market and it was nice to have someone advocate for our needs. The car was delivered to us, we were still able to test drive it, and it was actually better than any of the cars we test drove at the dealer. Once we had the car, Sayra finalized the loan and we handled the paperwork electronically. Everything was easy and I can't imagine ever going to buy a car at a dealer again. Also the credit union offered us an extended warranty which gives us even more peace of mind on the car. We ended up with a car that we love, a payment within our budget, and most importantly everything was handled with professionalism. 5 stars for Sayra, Greg, and the ECentral crew! read more

Not the best credit union! I had an account with them for a few years but no longer do. They take forever with deposits. When my card got canceled because of fraud, it took them forever to send me a new card because they assumed I had a secondary card. I asked if they could send me a new card ASAP and they said no. I had to wait the 7-10 business days. I had to try to look for shared branches so I could withdraw money from my account which wasn't always easy since I work during the week and shared branch banks close at 5pm the latest during the week and there are only a few shared branch locations open on Saturdays. I stopped using the account and kept getting over draft fees until my account got closed which was fine since I ended up getting a new bank to bank with. Unfortunately the IRS has this banking info from my 2019 tax return. I tried to ask if the IRS attempted to deposit the stimulus check into my now closed account and the whoever I spoke to said I need to call the IRS. The IRS isn't taking phone calls!!!! read more

I have used E-Central for many years, mainly as a savings account. I don't access it often, however, I have always had access to my account through ATM when I need it. Well there recently came a time when I needed to get money out. The ATM ate my card and never gave me the money! I finally called to find out why and they told me that it had expired. I told them that I never received a new one. They said "that is because you didn't use it much so we just didn't send you a new one." Been with them since last year and yet to have a good experience. First off the hold on deposits is ridiculous, if you deposit on the weekend you will have no money until the next business day. If you deposit with a check it takes about 5 days to clear before you get an available balance. Secondly, there is a lack of professionalism from there telephone bankers and it's quiet annoying and frustrating. I have called multiple times and I always manage to get someone who speaks to me with the most condescending voice ever. They speak to me like an idiot and they make me feel dumb for asking questions. I'm fed up with this company and I will no longer be doing business with them. P.S. Never go to the commerce office to look for an ATM. There isn't an accessible one after hours. Monday-Friday 8-5. You'll end up driving to Pasadena to make a deposit just to realize none of your money is available. read more

I've been with this credit union since 2006 and have had nothing but a good experience. I'm really shocked there's so many bad reviews. I will say that lately when I call I am on hold for a long time and it is very frustrating. I expressed my concerns and was told that they are short of tellers so I don't want to hold that against the bank overall. I'm hoping that they will fix this and hire someone soon. I also am not sure why everyone is saying they put a hold on your deposits. That's false, I have never had my deposits held. You cannot compare a credit union to a regular bank so maybe some of these folks are confused. Idk, but I love E-Central read more

I'm happy to report that E-central has redeemed itself in my eyes. It took about a day, but the manager called me back and was totally patient and clear in explaining their policy on fraudulent charges. Amazingly, they really do expect you to go file your own police report for certain fraudlulent charges, but the rep who told me that it was required on a $40 error was apparenlty imagining things. Now, my rule of thumb is that if you piss off a customer, you owe them one and should do something to atone for the mistake. Any symbolic gesture will do. E-central did no such thing. I had to call the cab company, explain that my credit union was requiring a police report, and that scared them into reversing the charge right away. But still, a polite chat with the E-central manager is enough for me, so they get the third star. If they hook me up with a sweet car loan, I might bump it up to 4 ;-). All in all, that little bit of headache is worth it to not support Smells Cargo anymore. Those people are a bunch of sociopaths. read more

Terrible customer service from a rep named Sandra. There was a discrepancy with a payment transaction that she and another rep screwed up and when I called to discuss with her, she was rude and dismissive, didn't offer to do any research or anything that would help the situation. Terrible people skills and even sounded like she hates her job. She then transferred me to the operation supervisor who's job was simply complete the transaction and not address his employees mistake. Again, terrible customer service because there was a complete lack of acknowledgement of the error, especially since they dont record their calls. Hmmm, I wonder why... Well, they may choose to ignore their mistakes but I won't and Yelp isn't the only place this review is getting posted. read more
