Golden squid
Christina W.

A LOOFAH?! I really need to ask them how to pronounce their name - this is the only way I can remember it! One of my sister's favorite eateries in Wasilla, this Chinese and Japanese fusion restaurant boasts a gorgeous lakeside view. Upon entering, I could feel the romantic vibe from the muted lighting and high ceilings, to the spacious seating for a more intimate setting. After being seated and perusing their menu, my sister and I decided upon sharing the Golden Squid dish, served with egg drop soup and rice. It arrived in a timely manner, although we had to order an extra bowl of rice. The squid was delicious! It was soft and chewy, spread over four large squares of crisply fried wonton. The serving is more than enough to feed one person, and a decent size to split between two. It's tossed in a sauce reminiscent of light sesame dressing. The service is great - the waiters and waitresses are friendly, helpful, and quick. It was easy to get their attention, and we didn't feel rushed to order. I think it's wonderful when a restaurant has great food and service. For Alaska, the pricing is considered average ($$), bu may br pricy for Californians. I haven't tried their sushi rolls yet, but I hope they will expand their menu without sacrificing quality. Thank you, E Lu Fa, for this such a pleasant dinner! This is my first 4-star review for any Alaskan restaurant; I hope there will be more to come.

Bento box

Very nice. Dinner was yummy. The lakeside view is spectacular, especially at sunset. Atmosphere is nice. Service was friendly and prompt. Our dinners came out quickly. All 3 of us girls ordered the bento box (see photo). It had more tempura than I was expecting, but it was good tempura. Not greasy, very crispy. The rice was flavorful, the orange chicken was uh-maze-ing! Loved it. Also really good - honestly everything. The egg drop soup was piping hot and had a fun surprise in it - corn. The egg rolls were very crispy and the veggies inside the egg roll were crisp and crunchy. I found the prices to be very reasonable for Alaska - $14 for the bento box. That's at least $5 less than the other Asian place charges for a dinner bento. Will definitely be back, next time with my honey.

It doesn't really matter to me about the old furniture and holes in the ceiling but the tea was soured where it had to be setting out all night but now to the food the egg rolls had no meat but ok the fried won ton wasn't that good..had no taste then I had the Mongolian beef and what I got was beef and vegetables they poured soy sauce on my rice so that wasn't even fried rice. The beef didn't taste good at all. It does t matter that the people was nice because the food was that bad that being nice doesn't make the food go down.

Kirin Ichiban on tap at 168 E Lu Fa in Wasilla, AK!

Excellent food, excellent service! This restaurant is now at the top of our list for the Palmer-Wasilla area. Wonderful views of Wasilla Lake coupled with friendly service of fresh, delightful food, make for a great experience. The Alaska Salmon Steak was excellent, as was the Alaskan Halibut Steak. Add to this Kirin Ichiban on tap (as well as Alaskan Amber and Alaskan White)! Even the egg rolls were fresh, unlike at many restaurants. We will be back soon!

Duck egg roll!! That's how to change it up!

One cook, so come in and take your time to relax in front of Wasilla lake. Very good food and worth every bite as the chef cooks the meal at the time of order, there is no Fast food hamburgers served... but good quality meals especially Steak. I love to have food worth dedication to serve.

Great view!

This is a solid restaurant. We were visiting from out of town and picked this spot because of positive reviews on yelp. The service was a bit odd because the owner/chef took our order even though there was a waiter working. The food was good and reasonably priced. Request a booth by the windows to enjoy the view.

Squid dish my son-in-law ordered, he loved it!

First visit here and will definitely be back. Warm cozy atmosphere, beautiful view of lake and mountains, and very friendly staff. Everything served was delicious. Love the halibut bites, egg rolls, Mongolian beef (very tender) and fried shrimp, yum! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed :)

It was alright there was only one worker and cooker, it wasn't that clean but the sushi was good. She was a really nice, outgoing worker.

Beautiful view and friendly owner. Unfortunately, everything is either tempura or fried. If that's all you like, you're in good shape.

We went in the evening time for dinner, and there was calming music. The food was delicious, and when we left my tummy felt GOOD. What we ordered seemed like authentic Japanese food (I'm not an expert though). We ordered spring rolls, Sushi with different kinds of sashimi that came with DELICIOUS miso soup and salad. The miso soup and salad were appetizer sized so not super big but prepared the belly for the rest of the food. We also ordered the baked mussels and jasmine tea. Homemade soy sauce was delicious! Prices affordable and reasonable for the meal. Spent less than $30 for two. But we only ordered one main, the rest were sides/drinks. Truly fantastic. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

The food is consistently a 9/10--perfect vegetable tempura, incredible house-made ginger dressing, and generous bento boxes that come with miso soup and salad (and still leave you with leftovers). Favorites: teriyaki chicken, beef & broccoli, and the tempura shrimp--highly recommend. I was really disappointed to recently see a "For Sale" sign. This place is a gem, and it would be a loss to see the quality change. Service is polite but a bit disengaged, and the atmosphere is simple and sometimes noisy--but honestly, you come here for the food. If you're a foodie, go while you can. This place is absolutely worth it. It's a hidden gem!

The presentation alone deserved its own spotlight, with vibrant colors, thoughtful plating, and that "don't touch it yet, just admire it" kind of appeal. The salmon panang curry was hands down my favorite. The salmon was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and rich sitting in a velvety panang curry sauce that balanced creamy coconut with just the right amount of heat. The flavors were bold but beautifully harmonious, with a depth that made every bite better than the last. It's the kind of dish you immediately start planning to order again before you've even finished it. The tonkotsu miso soup was equally impressive. The broth was luxuriously rich and full-bodied, with that slow-simmered depth you hope for in a great tonkotsu. The miso added a savory complexity that made the whole bowl incredibly comforting. Every spoonful felt warming and satisfying perfect for an Anchorage evening. Beyond the food itself, the overall experience was wonderful. When a restaurant manages to combine stunning presentation with flavors that truly deliver, it stands out and RickShaw absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back... and next time, I won't forget the photos.

I'd been wanting to try this food spot FOREVER. It just seemed every time we were in town looking…read morefor food it was the wrong day. We basically tried everything on the menu. A fried ono fish burger, a seared ahi sandwich, cheesy seafood dip, and the cookies. Everything was awesome! The fish burger had lilikoi tartar sauce and the fish was super fresh tender and flaky. The ahi sando had chopped kimchi and a garlicky mayo. The dip had a touch of smoke and didn't taste fishy. The cookies were bigger than I imagined and were excellent especially with the generous sprinkling of maldon sea salt crystals. If I was forced to split hairs, I'd wished the seafood medley in the dip (shrimp, halibut, etc) were chunkier so you could identify what was in each bite. It was more whipped or creamed together. I also think the cookies would be better if they were just a little thicker, although I can see the allure of a thin crispy cookie also. The cost was pretty expensive, but the ingredients they use are fresh and high quality so you can see where the money goes. The staff were really above-and-beyond friendly. They quickly set up an extra folding table for our family when they noticed we had no where to sit. Please visit this food cart (and follow them on socials, to keep track of their weekly specials) -- let's keep them in business! Anyone can see they take a lot of pride in their food both taste, image and creativity. I can't wait to try more things from Familia.
