If I could give zero stars, I would. We waited over 30 minutes for a table, which was already frustrating. When our name was finally called, the waitress started leading us to a booth. As we approached, she suddenly stopped, kicked out some people who were sitting there while waiting to be called (very awkward), and then--surprisingly--didn't seat us there. Instead, she led us all the way to the back of the restaurant, where the tables were packed uncomfortably close together. It was hot, cramped, and felt like we were sitting in a sardine can. We politely asked if we could have the booth she originally seemed to be seating us at, and she said she'd have to check. She came back and said no, because booths are reserved for people who specifically request one. That made absolutely no sense--no one at the front asked if we wanted a booth or a table. They only asked how many people were in our party. Had we known booths were something you had to explicitly ask for, we would have. And if booths are for people who ask, then the host stand should be making that distinction upfront--not arbitrarily deciding when the guest is already being seated. When we asked to speak to someone in charge, the waitress didn't even get a manager--just flagged down another staff member passing by. This second staff member repeated the same line about needing to add us to the waitlist again if we wanted a booth--even though one was already open and originally going to be ours. I refused to wait another 30+ minutes for a booth we were already being led to. This place clearly does not value its customers or believe in a fair, first-come-first-serve system. Instead of accommodating us at an available table, they chose to cram us in the back and be inflexible about an easy solution. They lost a paying customer today. My family was visiting from out of town and excited to try this place. We won't be back, and we won't be recommending it to others. Poor communication, inattentive service, and a completely illogical seating system. read more

This place discriminates against Seniors! I went with my 82 year old father. We were sat at a table with a very narrow isle. We asked to be moved to a table with a wider isle. They said no and as my father went to sit he tripped on a high chair. I said "this is what I was afraid of" very politely with a smile on my face. She smiled back and left. Two minutes later we went to get plates and before we could the manager, David, walked up and said "I need you to leave right now." When I asked why he said "please leave!" I was shocked and couldn't understand what we had done. I asked "is this because of my Dad tripping?" and David said "yes, you cannot eat here. Now leave!" We didn't do anything other than politely ask for a different table with a wider aisle. When they said no we didn't complain, we didn't raise our voice, we just said ok and went to sit down. I went there on a Friday lunch with some friends and it was very good! The food was fresh and was being cooked around the clock. The ambiance is nice, perhaps the nicest interior of a buffet place I've been to. We came here because of Lenten abstinence of meat on Fridays, and there were plenty of options for us to eat. Perhaps what surprised me most was the crawfish. I'm from Louisiana and buffet crawfish always makes me give a side eye, but as far as buffet crawfish goes, someone back there clearly knows their stuff. Is it the best crawfish? Far from it. But is it good crawfish? I'd say so, and I'd definitely come back here if I needed my crawfish fix that's for certain. Definitely would come back again to try their meat options as well. I've been to a few E-Stars in the past when craving Chinese buffet, but there's not really one close to me. This newer location was closer. I had a hankering, so I decided to give it a go one evening. Much like the other locations I have visited, the interior is actually nicer than most buffets. There's a robot kitty helper employed here, which is fun if you haven't seen one. The food lineup is exactly the same as I remembered at another location. Hot items are along the center, with sushi and cold items along the wall. Some of the stand up items were the crab rangoons, which are filled with more that just cream cheese, fried crab which were pretty meaty, and cross cut ribs, which had a nice char on them. The sushi selection is pretty decent for a buffet, though the tuna and salmon sashimi are super thin sliced. Some of the hot items could have used more seasoning, but overall I was satisfied with the food quality given the fact it is a buffet. Three stars for the food plus one star for all you can eat tuna sashimi! I definitely had my fill of the tuna! The weakest point was the dessert offerings. The fresh watermelon was good, as were the oranges, but the baked goods were low quality packaged stuff. At least they have the standard soft serve ice cream. For a bit less than $20, I think it was a fair price if you consume a lot of seafood. The offerings are pretty standard, but the tuna sashimi stands out as a premium item that makes it worth it. The one other negative is that there's too many damn noisy kids around. When I asked to be seated away from the crying children, the hostess kinda laughed and said they are everywhere, which they were. The flavors were pretty good at this location, though I only sampled a portion of the items as I was on lunch break. The price is less expensive than others at $12.99 before tax for weekday lunch =$14.06 (before tip). I really liked the broccoli (lightly cooked), rice (dry but cooked), few pieces of sushi I tried and baked dinner bun. They had an array of dishes (salad bar, stir-fry, sushi, baked, fried, steamed). I was surprised that the sushi was pretty decent, even covered with mostly kani and spicy mayo. If the rice is edible and the toppings don't taste too vinegary or mushy, I consider it a win at a buffet. The shrimp tempura in the roll may have been a little too oily, lukewarm and small, but it still tasted pretty good flavor-wise. I felt like I was eating at a party with food that had good flavors, but since I arrived a little late (11:15 AM), everything is just slightly hot. If the food was a little hotter, some would have tasted better. The mei fun and lo mein were okay, but I think I grabbed the unseasoned part of the mei fun as it was all white and tasted like plain rice noodles. The fried fish and calamari were hot and tasty but a little oily. The chicken wings were flavorful but needed to be warmer. The different stir-fries with onions and broccoli looked good but needed to be hot. The egg drop soup had thick egg strands but needed salt or something. The fried rice was pretty good as it was hot and had lots of toppings. The wonton in the wonton soup was fat and heavy. The fried egg roll and fried veggie spring roll were crunchy and hot. The not-mayo-based cold shrimp and squid salads tasted good. I thought the vanilla cake squares and vanilla Swiss roll cake were surprisingly dry. The graham crackers and whip dessert was okay as it it was like eating tiramisu without the espresso. There was the usual icy soft serve station. The kani-cheese bake, clams, and fruit (melons, oranges) were good versions for a buffet. There was Spanish music playing, and it wasn't too loud from the staff or guests. The interior is dark and moody, but it's also nicely lit at the tables and buffet stations by the wall accents and ceiling lights. read more

We had eaten at this sushi buffet many times. Today because my husband went outside toward the car, the wait staff said that he was walking the check. We are both Seniors and Eagle as well as Lifetime Girl scouts and we explained that to the woman owner and asked that she comp the meal. She said that she could call the police and that would have been fine and we could have explained what we had been accused of which is basically saying that we are thieves. After much more embarrassment, she charged us as Seniors and took off 20%. There are many other Asian buffets we can go to which are much closer to our and that will be what we do, henceforth. What could improve would be to not assume that because of how one might look, there is no reason to assume that they are thieves. I can now assume that the owner is a bigot. First off, this buffet has absolutely EVERYTHING! Great selection of dishes including; fried chicken, pork ribs, beef skewers, soup and spring roll station, classic items like pizza, nuggets and fries for the kids, orange chicken, lo mein, fried rice, fried fish, crawfish, boiled shrimp, FRESH sushi and sashimi, ice cream and dessert bar, salad bar, and free refills on soda/iced tea!! Now- the taste of the items: it was veryy good and you can tell how fresh everything is. They are constantly changing out the trays of food and the fried items were hot and crispy, the sushi was fresh and had no fishy taste at all. All of the hot dishes I ate were great! I finished 3 plates of food plus dessert so expect to get very full. The ambience and cleanliness was ON POINT! Smooth music, low lighting, and awesome service! Our waiter was prompt and friendly with everything we needed. We paid $19.99 for 2 adults and bought 2 sodas after tax we spent about $50 total. Absolutely unbeatable price, left full and happy! FOOD SELECTION: Impressive. And not just deep-fried garbage. Lots of different meat/seafood and some veggies too. There was a salad bar as well as a sushi bar. Also a soup bar! FOOD QUALITY: Excellent. Just about everything was really good! I tried quite a few of the options and was impressed. There were maybe just a couple items that were mediocre. Oh and the sushi/sashimi was actually quite good. The fish seemed like pretty good quality (it's always a little scary eating raw fish at buffets). AMBIANCE: Surprisingly nice. Large space with high ceilings. The bathrooms were very nice and clean too. Despite this, it had a very casual feel. Lots of families with kids. We brought our 1-year-old and felt comfortable. They have high chairs, btw (although the straps on them didn't function properly). SERVICE: Excellent! Our waitress (for drinks/check) was really nice. It feels weird tipping at buffets but it was easy since she was so friendly and helpful. PRICE: Surprisingly low. It was about $17 per person on a weekend -- that's very reasonable! Super nice and clean buffet. The food is okay but my dad is obsessed with it. He comes at least one a week. I like some of the sushi but most of it is really just standard. I went to this E Star buffet on a Wednesday night. It wasn't very busy, and had exceptional and energetic service. Everything was very clean and sleek inside, with a large selection of foods including sashimi, various soups, and crayfish, all of which were enjoyable. Overall a great experience! This was our first time at this buffet, I saw it on an Instagram post and was very impressed the photos. All of the food we had was fresh, very flavorful and there was a wide variety!
