This is probably one of the cleanest and nicest decorated buffet I've been to in a while. Seating is quick on a weekday but expect some wait during a weekend. There's a little bit of everything in terms of food (American, chinese, dessert, fruit, sushi, salad) and it will definitely get you full. It's a good comfort spot- especially for the price ($20). Obviously don't expect the most authentic cuisine, but I think it's well worth it's value and we'll continue coming here when we're craving some comfort food lol

Not bad, not good--just barely passing. Think mall Chinese food, but with slightly better ingredients. Packed to the brim in a heavily populated area near 290, like everyone had the same bad idea at once. The "highlight" short ribs were either wiped out or burned into charcoal art. The ice cream machine refused to dispense vanilla, and when the worker investigated, his professional solution was for me to wait and hope for a miracle. Food quality was aggressively mediocre, but hey... it's a buffet. Expectations were already on the floor.

Clean and good food. We went right at 11am and it was fresh food. The basic American Chinese foods. Best thing is the salt and pepper shrimp. Good price for the amount of food they provide.

    I LOVE THIS PLACE!

We will never stray and try any other Chinese buffet, ever. This place is great, they really do have a great selection of food choices and fresh! Everything is delicious and super friendly wait staff.

Went across town to check out this buffet my dad had recommended. It was a Sunday early evening and it was completely packed. The selection is pretty typical of Asian buffets and everything was as tasty as AYCEs go. My bride ate a lot of crawfish interestingly enough, and sizes there were inconsistent depending on the batch. The restaurant was extremely noisy, which makes sense given the number of people there. I could hardly hear the people across the table from me. This place is cleaner than most buffets I've been to, which is a huge plus. $17.99 is reasonable for weekend dinner. If i lived closer to this side of town, I would be back whenever I was in the mood for AYCE.

The environment was clean, service was quick, and nice. However the food was my biggest issue... The noodles, rice, egg rolls, and even "menudo" had absolutely no flavor (which i'm not surprised because it is a Chinese buffet but regardless). I shouldn't have to mix it with black pepper steak sauce in order to enjoy it. They didn't have many dessert options. Their sushi was okay, I kind of enjoyed it. My younger sibling had their pizza and she claimed that "the cheese tastes like expired milk" and my other sibling agreed. So unless you only want to enjoy their meats this is your spot. P.s the robot was sleeping but i'm assuming because the place was packed

Low quality food and very low quality sushi at $17 you will get full but on a bunch low quality food that has way to much salt.

There are several types of seating available. They have a large patio - one section covered, one section open. They also have bar seating inside, regular chairs/table seating, and chair with a half booth seating. We were welcome by many of the staff immediately when we entered. Very welcoming. They have sweet tea! I love sweet tea. :) My Friend had a Bloody Mary. They had a $5 special for drinks. We split the Buffalo shrimp and the Gulf Wedge salad. The Buffalo shrimp (8 to an order) came with celery and ranch for dipping. They were just like I remembered years ago from the Richmond location. I'm not usually a Buffalo sauce type person, but their shrimp with their sauce is the bomb! The shrimp are large, so the entree is great for splitting. The Gulf Wedge has crab meat, bacon, grape tomatoes, and a hardboiled egg. It also comes with red onion and blue cheese crumbs, but I do not like either of those, so I had those removed from my half. I also prefer ranch dressing instead of blue cheese dressing. The salad was a great addition to our shrimp. Very tasty and filling. Nick was happy to make the substitutions for me. Many restaurants have an issue with splitting dishes. I was happy RC, via Nick, did this for us. For these reasons, Nick made out with a 25% tip. I am always a 20% tipper, but good service will get you even more. Thanks, Nick! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, and we will not only be back, but we will tell others to go see you!

The restaurant sits on Wirt, just South of Long Point, and has its own private parking lot behind a gated perimeter. There is plenty of seating. They have tons of covered outdoor tables, indoor tables, booths, and bar top options. I also noticed there's a little turfed area for kids to play on the side of the restaurant, and the outdoor seating appears to be kid friendly, so bring the whole household. (minus the cat I guess) We came on a Friday and decided to split the Boiled Seafood Friday Special. We got a lobster tail, 2 blue crabs, 1 snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb. boiled shrimp, corn, 2 potatoes, and lemon garlic butter sauce for dipping all for $40. There was plenty of food to split between two people and everything came out great. I'm sure I'll be back to try out the menu staples, but that Friday special was a nice surprise! Service was very on top of our table. Our waiter came by constantly to make sure we have what we needed, helped with questions, and never let a water glass or a beer get too low. Overall, it was a great first visit to an old Houston favorite, and I'm sure we'll find ourselves back again soon enough.

Caesar was super hospitable and very knowledgeable about the restaurant. To start, I ordered the Xochimilco specialty cocktail (Reposado Tequila, Lime Juice, Guava Puree and hibiscus syrup, very light and refreshing). For apps, we ordered the Birria Fries (comes with alot birria meat and the broth was hearty, thin fries) and the Ceviche Yucateco (both spicy fish and shrimp and boy was it SPICY! Chips that it came with were made fresh and crunchy). For my main, I got the Estilo Baja (tempura fried fish, very crispy and the chipotle mayo it was topped off paired nicely with the taco itself, highly recommend ordering this). Apparently, has been opened for about 2 years now and they have another location in the Bellaire area. Parking - a little tight, but they have their own lot Worth checking out!

At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.

I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.
