Excellent buffet quality, variety and selection. The staff is very attentive to the buffet by quickly replenishing items as they are consumed. The food was plentiful and delicious. Sister and I went to eat some food on 3/5. I really enjoyed the ambiance. It was honestly really nice considered with the way the lights were situated to fall on you and the table. Whilst everywhere else was dark around and so that kind of created a more intimate setting. The servers were attentive with drinks and replenishing them. In terms of the food... The bad - chicken nuggies are stale and kind of crisped up - dumplings were more tepid tasting a bit bland - kielbasa was salty and a bit cold to chew - the pork ribs were more chewy and did not fall from the bone which made them harder to eat. The good - crab with cheese was good. felt like a sushi bake - sushi was light on the rice and pieces were small but savory thin pieces of sashimi - buttery shrimp light seasoned - fried fish was good and tasty but firm with meat - chow fun noodles & lo mein were fun to eat felt a bit too springy and chewy but it was light on the seasoning - fried chicken was juicy and well cooked but noticed the hairs from the chicken - mushrooms were cooked thoroughly and tasty - crawfish was huge! and tasty yum - really liked the pudding wafers it was tasty and smooth The interesting/surprises - the pepper chicken was sweet which was surprising cause I expected it to be spicy but it was sweet. - mongolian was spicy and unexpected. some chewy ness - general tso was less spicy and sweet sour tasting - salsa shrimp which had spicy but a minty spice maybe ceviche? It was interesting - muffin was dense w/ raises on the bottom - coconut confectionary was a sweet coldness - rice pudding was thickkkkker than i was used to - mango salad was fuzzy with seasoning that felt more savory meat-ness than fruity It did hit the spot for buffet. Let's start with the amazing ambiance of the restaurant. It was absolutely beautiful inside the dining area and the restrooms was breathtaking and very fancy! The service was Hi-Tech. There was actually a robot greeter that guided us to our table! The actual server was very polite, kind and attentive! Last but not least, the food was hot and simple delicious! One of the best buffets I have tried, they have LOTS of great fresh foods, and the seafood, delicious, plus the place is very pretty.

Finally a Chinese buffet near my home. They have been open for a month, as of the date of this review. I mostly ate sushi, spring rolls, wonton soup, and fresh fruit and everything was great. Very clean inside, great service, and convenient location in a shopping center strip mall area. I went for lunch and there were lots of customers. Plenty of parking spaces too. I will return another time for dinner to see what foods they offer. read more

This place has a very modern, cool atmosphere. It's new so obviously everything is nice and clean. The food tasted great when I went, it's definitely fresh & they're constantly restocking everything. It gets very busy. When I first walked in, the ladies that supposed to greet you, didn't actually greet me. They ignored me till I said I wanted to be seated, they seem to have an attitude. I had high hopes for this place and it did not disappoint. The mood lighting and easy listening music reminded me of summer nights standing guard on the Great Wall. As a connoisseur of buffets, I knew to fill my plate with just the right amount of General Tso's chicken so the food didn't get cold as I ate. On my second round, I made sure to get some of those stuffed thingy majiggers which were also delicious. The traditional Chinese drink of Diet Coke was a little flat which cost this place its 5th star. The service was good, but unnecessary. I would have rather saved the tip money to get myself a gym membership to work off that delicious tapioca pudding. Overall a very clean Chinese buffet with good food. This place has it all . We went as a family for a birthday dinner. We went on a Saturday around 12 and there was no wait. We are really enjoyed the food. It was not to salty. They had a variety of food to chose from. Even my picky eater had something. The sushi was fresh and tasted great. For dessert they had fruit and some mini cakes along with the soft serve machine . My kiddos really enjoyed the soft serve . Best part is that they have a robot that comes and sings happy birthday per your request. We will be back. read more

Went for lunch today. I understand that it has just opened recently. The food was good, a few minor issues that I did not like. They do not give you a Knife, there was no Fried rice on the buffet, and the Ice Cream machine had no cones and it was empty. This was prime lunch time and you would think they would be ready. Where do I start ? I've had gastric bypass. I eat only a few bites , so paying $20 for a meal that I eat a few bites makes no sense . So when I go dine with others , they eat in the restaurant, I order to go . Then I usually drink my tea , but I don't touch my food while there . " most " Chinese buffets give you a small soup container that they don't typically charge extra for , if you are paying for a meal to go . Apparently this place doesn't, which is fine I guess. So last time I did t know. I asked for a buffet to go and soup, they didn't give me a soup container . So while talking to my mom, while she ate , I went and got a soup. The server about came unglued because I was eating there . I told her I would not have to if they gave me the container, but they forgot . So I figured we would try again . I take my mom . Up front I explain that she is eating there , but I'm paying per pound to get mine to go . That I will buy a snack to eat there like Ice cream , but I won't eat it for free , I will pay for it . She told us we could not have one person eating and one to go . My mom asked if they really expected her to sit at her own table so she could eat there . We've been doing this for years , it's never been an issue . After the server stomped off , a manager came by . We tried in 3rd grade language, how simple this actually was , but she still couldn't understand why my mom wanted to eat there and I only wanted to go , like we had some sort of Chinese buffet conspiracy and were going to try and steal food . We went back and forth with 3 different people. So before I could even get the food back to the table , they were trying to snatch it away to go weigh it. I said " lady, I'm not even through getting food yet ". So I get the food , soup and ice cream . That's when they wanted to charge me per pound for the soup when it would have cost 1/2 that just to buy the soup. After paying for it , I was going to sit and talk to my mom while eating my paid for ice cream . I noticed they left it out of the bag . She said she didn't want ice cream to melt . I said it would not melt if you would let me eat MY ice cream while I'm here . These people are ridiculous. As if $25 for a to go box , wasn't enough . read more

The food is okay not bad and the waiters are incredibly sweet. The management if awful.They were so rude. We had asked to add more people to our table, our waitress said that she would just add a chair she let her manager though and we understood why she said no, that was not the issue it never hurts to ask. The issue is the way she yelled at us and didn't let us finish our sentences or questions. She just kept saying "no no" "not possible, maybe plan better not my problem" she had a really nasty attitude towards my mom. A simple "no I'm sorry" would've sufficed, even a "no" but without the attitude. It seemed like she was just having a bad day, it's not our fault though. The ambiance is ok I guess. Food is amazing but the seating is so close together and small overall. The light used in the building makes it feel like we aren't at a buffet but rather at a club or something . Very very loud and the manager doesn't understand English well so it was hard to communicate with her . Also plates are left at the table for long time until a server picks them up since every server works all over the buffet they are very unorganized . I will say everything needs improvement except the food . So if you don't care for anything that I stated just about the food quality then the food is great here to eat read more

Super clean Chinese buffet. This place is very well staffed with friendly hosts, hostesses, and wait staff, who remember us each time we come in. The food selection is large with something for everyone. The food quality is good, with a few standouts, including the General Tso's chicken, the Crab Rangoon, sushi, and a nice salad bar. This is the first time I have ever posted a bad review for a restaurant. This is a new buffet style restaurant located at Dacoma and 290 near Timbergrove in Houston, TX. I decided to give it a try for lunch today. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it was one of, if not the worst eating out experiences of my life. Before I could even make it through the door of the establishment I was approached by a man who was obviously either mentally unstable or was on some sort of drug. I walked right past him which is very much against my nature but I was very unsure what this man was capable of. Once inside it was clear the employees knew of his presence but were reluctant if not downright scared to call the police. Inside, the restaurant was clean and organized. There are plenty of employees milling about performing various job functions and yet the service is absolutely abismal. This was considered by some a holiday being president's day but not everyone. I was not told upon entering that there was 'holiday' pricing in effect instead of the lunch special price. I had never heard of such a thing. The man who had approached me before I came into the restaurant was now emboldened enough to come inside the restaurant as well. Walking up and down corridors mainly toward the men's room and talking to himself in a conversation level voice. I could tell employees as well as patrons were unsure how or if to respond. Some cracking jokes once he was out of earshot. Others rushing their experience because of the anxiety of the situation. The sweet tea is absolutely the worst I have ever had. I did ask for water and for the tea to be removed from my bill. The request was met with resistance but they did grant my request. I finished and paid my bill of 20 dollars plus and that's without a drink. I decided to use the restroom before I left. When a man goes into a stall in a restaurant bathroom it is usually because a urinal is just not going to be enough for that visit. lol. I went into the first stall and had begun going to the bathroom before I realized that there was no toilet paper. Somehow I managed not to panic. It took a while but I was able to transfer to the other stall without anyone else coming into the bathroom while that was happening. By this time I could scarcely wait to get the hell out of this place. I will not be going back again anytime soon if ever. The food is ok but nothing stands out as wonderful My suggestion is to go ANYWHERE else. read more

Yes the place is clean and neat looks just like the old Vstar. I called and asked this place ahead of time about blue crabs and the times and they responded "12-4". I'm like cool I get here she tells me no she said dinner time but gave a clear time. That was the only reason I wanted to come here for the fried blue crabs and the salt and pepper shrimp. I'm highly upset that I didn't get crabs but not only that the salt and pepper shrimp was overcooked extremely. So for that 2 stars read more
