I have eaten at a Lin's Grand Buffet in Amarillo once, so I had an idea of what the experience would be like. I think the one here in Houston is better, at least based on my first visit there. This is a new restaurant location, only open a few months. I got the hot and sour soup, Bourbon chicken, green beans, a spring roll, and jalapeño chicken. I have no complaints about the food - despite being near closing time, the food did not seem as though it had been sitting on the buffet too long. Unlike some buffets I've been to, the waitress at this one made sure we kept our water glasses full, but was not intrusive or hovering. Lin's claims to be the largest Chinese buffet. I think that may be an exaggeration, however, the selection was plentiful and the quality was good, especially for a buffet. I will definitely be returning to try the Mongolian grill and some of their other options that I missed on this trip. read more

They have good prices and something for everyone to eat. The place is large with a lot of seating. Second time eating here. First time had a better experience than this time around. This time the service was ok, most employees working the front and tables did the bare minimum. Floors were not clean and sticky. The guests with us said the restrooms were a complete mess. The front door handle was super filthy and sticky which was not good for hygiene. The hibachi in the back makes fresh shrimp, pork, beef and vegetables plus you can order a steak. Some of the roasted potatoes were undercooked which didn't eat. The fried rice was not too bad and they brought out fresh batch a few times since many were eating it. The watermelon and cantaloupe was not ripe which is common at buffets. We were not impressed with Lin's buffet. The variety was okay but the food tasted mediocre. At most buffets, you can usually find at least one or two delicious items. I didn't find anything great here, and was still a bit hungry when I left. Also the floor was dirty and I slipped twice. read more

Went here during grand opening weekend (crazy I know) - while crowded they still were able to handle it accordingly with fresh food! A lot of options , but I judge a Chinese buffet if they have good basic food: beef & broccoli at the Mongolian grill, basic chicken & broccoli, and good Chinese fried chicken wings. The chicken & broccoli at this buffet was one of the best I had. So was the beef and broccoli at the grill. The fried chicken wings were unfortunately lacking. They only had buffalo wings - not what I would expect at a Chinese buffet. Service was great for a busy night. The lion dance while eating (two shows within 1hr) - could've been a shorter show or outside. All in all.. not sure if I'll be back, unless fried chicken wings get on the menu. read more

This is a decent Chinese buffet. We needed one in the area. I went during lunch time and it was clean, the food was good for buffet food, and the waiter was good. It isn't too big, but it has the main Chinese dishes and some other items (pizza, fries, chicken nuggets, crawfish, etc). I liked the beef and broccoli and what looked like spicy chicken. The soft serve ice cream was also surprisingly good and creamy. It was busy for a random Tuesday at lunch time. It was about $15 for lunch on the weekday. If you are looking for a buffet, it is worth checking out. read more

The place is relatively new so it's still fresh and clean. The young staff working the front and the floor are nice professional kids. The food is good but pretty basic for a buffet. My son was super excited that the sushi section has one with no seaweed and just avocado and cucumber his fav that we never find on a Buffett. The crawfish needs alot of work which was disappointing as it's in season right now. The dessert section definitely needs work as most sweets were very bland but other than that we will be back. I don't think anything here is good. It didn't feel fresh. Some things I just literally couldn't chew through. And it's not that big. U also have to pay first and then wait for your number to be called and that could be a while. I do not recommend. I would not be shocked if I get a tummy ache later today... this is a very small buffet... I'm not sure why it's advertising largest. Is it largest chain maybe?? I do know but I'm never coming back. After driving by this place a dozen plus times and always seeing a parking lot full of cars, we just had to give it a try. We walked in and paid our $20 to gorge ourselves. Started by surveying the offerings, three different hot lines, a salad area that I don't think anyone touched while we were there, a small sushi section, a Mongolian grill area in the corner, and then finally a little dessert area. Started with a sampling of the hot foods, most of the chickens are very average but the pepper beef was pretty good. I also enjoyed the cream cheese puffs. Most things were labeled, I wish the labeling would have been a little bit better, but they did list allergens on it which was nice. Next up was the sushi line, you could probably just skip this. Mostly rice with a little bit of fish, even when you grab some extra sashimi fish to throw on top, it's still very average. Mongolian grill was pretty good, I like that you can pick your own ratios of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp as well as some vegetables like peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, and then throw in a yellow noodle when they cook it all up. The noodles a little firm but the use of garlic and oil that I put on made this one of my favorite dishes. The other thing that was really good was the ribs in some sort of sauce. I saw someone order a steak so I figured why not do that too. I asked for it medium rare, and was pleasantly surprised when despite it being only about a quarter inch thick, it was indeed medium rare. Nothing amazing, kind of like a flank steak, but decently flavored and tender. Wrapped it up with a desserts. The vanilla soft serve was good, a lot of the other stuff you could just skip including what looks like a chocolate cake ball but is pretty dry. The purple spiral thing was probably the best there I tried. Forgot to take a picture of the dessert plate, sorry for that. Overall, for 20 bucks you get quite the meal and it's really up to you how you want it to make it work. There were things we didn't even get around to trying like the crab, the crawfish, the shrimp you have to peel, and a handful of other dishes. It's solid for a Chinese buffet, but from a service standpoint I never did get my water refilled. For now it's new and clean inside, we'll see how it stays over time. I'm not in a rush to go back, but I'm open to the possibility. read more

My experience at Lin's Grand Buffet was good overall, mainly because of the food, but the service at check in took away from the experience. When I arrived, the girl at the front named Zaniya was very rude and had an attitude from the start. I told her I needed a table for two. She then mumbled something about drinks, and when I replied yes, she responded with an attitude saying "Yes what? Water or soda?" I was confused because she never clearly asked that question to begin with. After that, the girl with red hair also gave my wife and I attitude, which made the entire check in process feel very unwelcoming. Despite that, we did not let the service ruin our visit. The food itself was delicious. I especially loved the pineapple chicken, which was easily my favorite dish. The buffet had a good variety and most of the food was well prepared. The dessert section was disappointing. The quality was not great overall, with only a couple of items being decent. The ice cream tasted very artificial and was not enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely come back for the food, but I would not expect welcoming service. Hopefully this is something management can improve, because the food deserves a better first impression. read more

Went during their grand opening and got to watch the lion dance. It was so fun and I think everyone had a great time. Price is affordable and the place is clean and honestly it doesn't look like a Chinese buffet at all. Food selection could be better and most of the items were a little bit on the saltier end of the spectrum. My favorite had to be the cajun seafood-- the seasoning was PERFECT. For a buffet, you can't beat it. I died when I saw the soft serve ice cream at the dessert station. I think it's been well over 20 something years since I've last seen a buffet having soft serve. It's usually those ice cream cups that don't really taste like ice cream at your typical buffets so I was quite excited. The point I deducted was after coming back with my ice cream, I saw my entire table cleared out. And so did my Touchland hand sanitizer I had left...All was gone. This building is just a block away from me so I was curious as to what would move in here after many failed resaraunts had a go. Linn's turns out to be a great addition to a neighborhood crowded with eateries. The selection is plentiful, not particularly bold but the price is fair for the selection. and it seems to be plenty busy but not over-crowded which I like to see. the staff is certainly on their A-game with prompt attention and helpfulness. The place is always clean, the food always fresh, never looks or tastes like it's been sitting in the back of a fridge all day. as mentioned, dessert choices are a bit bland and overall food selection is not overwhelming like at E-Star. Chicken was raw, it was pink inside, the potatoes were raw, they were all hard, the noodles were even raw!! Makes sense because this place is all ran by teenagers and they are idi*** they don't know nothing about customer service. And the drinks were horrible, how do you mess up drinks??? We heard about the grand opening of Lin's on a FB group and had to stop in! We made it in for the lunch price ($14.99, however dinner and weekend price is very reasonable as well $17.99) and it's such a great value and the food is wonderful! We started off with some Mongolian bbq, which was fresh made and delicious. Their sushi and sashimi selection makes the price worth it alone! So delicious! And all the hot dishes - Chinese food and some "American" staples were all very delicious and fresh as well. The restaurant is bright and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We can't wait to come back, the value is unbeatable and better than other Asian buffets we have been to in the area! Portions in the large dinner were very good, and I immediately thought the S&S chicken was fried way too long. It was so over fried that the chicken inside literally looked like over dried jerky. Went there around 12:50, big mistake. The line of people was out the front door and just a mess of humanity. Once you get to a register to pay, they give you a ticket number that you have to bring to the station calling numbers or it's my understanding you're not in line. Lots of food on the menu. Not bad but nothing blew me away. Great sushi options and a grill station no one seemed to be using. The servers were polite and constantly working their areas.
