This company had done work for me several times and have always been ready to help. One time was after the ice storm that hit us around 2009 and we had not power for well over a week. I have part of a tree come through my roof and broken limbs either already down or still handing in the trees. The other time is when Hurricane IKE hit and devastated this area with more than 70 MPH winds and a boat load of repairs to down lines and again major damage to house, trees, fence and more than 80% of households were without power. Eager Beaver was able to get over and get it cleaned up out of trees and all of the downed limbs. More recently, I wanted four 40-45 foot tall mature trees removed and they came over and gave me a price. I called a couple of other companies for prices and one price was a little lower but they weren't planning to remove the shavings. Angel's price was more through and so I hired them and they came out about 10 days later and after two days of work they were done, except shavings and they had already said that they would return to do the stump grinding and removed a couple of days later. Eager Beaver uses a lot of big equipment all over the yard and did a lot of damage to my yard but they dumped soil and planted grass see once they were done! The employees are all considerate and thoughtful. I will certainly call them again the next time I need removal of trees or trimming of the trees! This would be a 2-star review if I didn't know others who have had very good work done by Eager Beaver. First, I was disappointed that they didn't use actual trained beavers; just guys with chainsaws. Second, I would recommend that you be there when they perform the trimming service. I had a surrogate there and was not clear enough in my instruction. As such, one of my maple trees is much higher (4-5 ft) than I had intended. Or, maybe they thought that when I said, "just above my head" they assumed I was 9 ft tall. Either way, the trees that were trimmed look much better, but were not to my expectation. The team did excellent work cutting down an old oak and left half a rick of wood. If I had it to do over again, I would have requested a full rick since I was underwhelmed that they barely cleared the 4ft height with a single log. Also, they cut out a couple of saplings for some unspecified and unmentioned reason that were shading my hydrangea. Maybe they were trying to be helpful, but I didn't mention anything about cutting those. As I said, they did decent work, but I've seen them work better at other homes. Be there when they pull the rip cords and you'll probably be happier than I was. read more

Got a quote from Eager Beaver (EB) on March 28, 2017, to remove two trees, grind the stumps and leaving the chips, and trimming an oak tree. Work (invoice) done around April 21, 2017. Both trees were gone when I returned home, with two large piles of chips left from the stump grinding. I was able to start working on removing the chips in Oct 2017 and discovered that one of the stumps was still about 1/4 remaining, being buried under the chips. I called EB to schedule for them to look at the stump on Oct 18, 2017, but they came by on Oct 16, 2017. They called me and agreed that the remaining stump was overlooked and they would schedule their stump grinding crew by to take care of the issue. After not seeing anyone for a month, I called back on November 20, 2017, to ask for an update. They stated I was still on their list and they would get to me. Still, no one came by to fix the problem. I called back on December 29, 2017, and lady answering phone told me someone would call me back to discuss the issue. As of January 20, 2018, I have not heard from anyone. Obviously, they have my money and are not coming back. read more

I was very happy with how professional and careful they were, and especially happy on how fast they cleaned up all the branches and removed the tree. We have had Eager Beaver Tree Service take down trees for us since we moved to New Albany in the late 1980s. They have always done a great job for us. We recently had them take down 3 trees in our front yard. There was a little miscommunication in the beginning, but they reestimated the job and did exactly what we wanted for less than their adjusted estimate. We had them grind out the 3 stumps, take away the small branches and cut the trunk into 12"-18" sections. Our neighbor was glad to have the firewood for his WB Fireplace. My husband and I shoveled and hauled the sawdust/dirt to the back of our property near the creek where we let it go natural. They did a great job grinding out the stumps. So, now we're ready for some landscaping so we can have a little real lawn without so much shade and competition from the 3 big trees that used to be there. read more

I can't say enough good things about the whole team at Eager Beaver Tree Service. First, when I walked the site with the manager for an estimate, he was very thorough, even advised me how to recognize stress or disease in other trees on property, and issued an amazingly reasonable price in writing. A few days later, when he called to schedule the work, I added to the scope of work and, again, the price was fair. The crew was focused and efficient. And when they drove off, not only had they cleared up every last leaf & branch, but they even picked up a small pile of branches and shrub trimmings I'd piled up a month before. I have to give a "shout out" to the crew, they were polite and mostly experts in the removal of a vey large Oak tree next to my parents home, over half of the canopy was over the home, not one branch hit the house, They even cut me a "slice" of the trunk to make a table top ( once it dries out a bit). Had a large, ugly maple tree in my side yard that was dying and dangerously dropping limbs during any significant wind event. Wanted it topped and cleaned of any limbs that had leaves. Eager Beaver showed up on the scheduled date, as promised, with enough workers to get the job done in a safe and professional manner. They did everything they promised and more. They even moved limbs that had previously fallen and been cut up before they were contracted as a "value added", no charge, service as well as giving attention to a damaged gutter caused when a limb feel during a storm. When they left everything had been raked, cleaned and hauled away. I am giving 5 stars because they deserve them. read more

Cannot complain about anything. They did a very good job of taking a large tree down in our backyard. Everything was cleaned up well. They even took the branches we had cut on another tree and the rose bush cutting & weeds I had a pile of. They also trimmed a few tree branches in the front yard. You can't find anyone anymore who you can trust to do the right thing and are fully insured. They are definitely worth hiring. It also helps that both the owners are highly educated in the field and they are both always on or near the job site at all times.
