He was friendly and professional, didn't try to upsell anything. I opted to fix, but Austin didn't have the correct size of compressor. He made a call to a co- worker, Isaac, who had the correct and offered to drop it off. Thank you Isaac! Once we had the part, Austin installed and patiently waited sitting on the kitchen floor for it to be filled with coolant (I think that's what it was). Anyhoo, great experience and would not hesitate to use them again.

At no point was it clearly explained that this would be a trial-and-error process with uncertain results. Very disappointing experience--both in terms of the repair outcome and how the situation was handled.

Keep in mind the part was $18 and he was there for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, they were unable to fix the dishwasher, even after I was responsible for ordering the replacement part myself. When the repair still did not work, they agreed to only refund $80 of the $362, despite not resolving the issue. Instead, the only solution they offered was to install a brand-new dishwasher, which was not helpful. I am fine paying some money for their time and I was hoping for a fair solution. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the outcome and the lack of accountability when the repair was unsuccessful. I know there are more honest upfront guys out there who are not going to charge you a crazy amount when they can't fix the exact thing you paid them to do. So do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I realize this was lost revenue for Lamar's Appliance Repair, but I appreciate their honesty diagnosing the problem and being truthful that we were better off getting a new fridge instead of repairing it. Replacing the broken piece would have cost nearly as much as a new refrigerator, but that was also money they would not earn from us. He was thorough in explaining the problem. He was fully booked but made time to examine and then squeezed me in to fix it two days later instead of waiting over the weekend. Whew! He arrived, took it apart, then left saying he had an idea that he thought he could try that he'd been having great success with. He went to get what he needed, came back and got to work again.
