Nice historical place to hang out and meet the locals , we been trying all kind of food everywhere around the country and for my surprise I just find out the pull pork is one the tasty we ever try . Either a Cuban sandwich or just a pull pork plate made by the owner and his wife. Bartender girl so polite as well the owners. Very nice family business you have to try if you on Lancaster , reading area . this is a nice bar, fun place for Berks co, cool music and an ok pool table, but expensive drinks, and the over priced food sucks. My wife had some plantain, and bacon kinda thing, its no longer on the menu, but they forgot a key ingredient. BACON! After complaining, the 18 y/o waitress said they forgot to put it in, and went and got a side of bacon.... I had a flat bread pizza, that was not a flat bread, just a home made pizza. They can thank their bartender who never gave her name when we sat down for the 2 stars. Food was delicious however service at the bar was cold and I have had better conversations with a cactus. My husband ordered a salad with French dressing... her reply... NOPE.. flips open the menu and POINTS to the choices. Then we decided to split the special wasn't asked or offered a separate plate,so there I am leaning over reaching off of his plate. She never comes back to ask if we need anything or if everything is ok or if we would like more to drink. We were planning on staying for a few more drinks but after watching her serve other customers and completely ignore us like last nights mistake ... we decided to take our $$$ somewhere else. 2 stars out of 2 for food. The food at the Eagle Hotel is excellent! My favorite is the Porkchetta, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Good beer selection and they make the best long islands around. All food is individually made for you, so you may need to wait a bit when it's busy, but it's worth the wait. read more

Im currently here, got here an hour and a half ago. The people were not very welcoming, the lady said a fryer broke but that it was fixed now. However, me and my family have been here forever waiting for our food. We STILL haven't gotten our appetizers. My dad asked the one lady if our food was ready and she made up an excuse about traffic being bad and that we should be happy we are waiting for it to die down. I don't care how good the food is here. Nothing is worth waiting 2 hours for an appetizer. The bathroom lock fell off and it smells like fish. This place sucks. read more

Great place! We found this place on Yelp on our way to the Christmas Village. We loved the spacious, comfortable decor--a must for a great local spot. The food was the big surprise...coming from NYC we don't get impressed much but this food was fresh, homemade, and memorable. There were so many good options we over-ordered. :) We loved the Coney Island fries--hand cut and freshly fried and covered with hot dogs and cheese. The chicken wings were delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the blue cheese dip surpassed expectation and was very rich and cheesy. I had the porchetta sandwich with fresh spinach and my BF had the roast beef and gravy on white bread. It was all really great -- juicy meats with good flavor and fresh breads. My bread was toasted and crispy and my BF's was really good thick, soft white bread. (See attached pic, sorry it's the wrong orientation but it was hard to get all three plates in the shot!) There was a finesse to the food and preparation that I very much appreciated and that elevated the food way beyond your typical bar food. The ingredients were of good quality and it was reflected in the taste. The place is owned by a couple -- and the wife, Shanna, was the bartender and was very nice and welcoming. We felt at home and like we went there all the time. The prices were good for food and alcohol. They have a big dining room and an outdoor patio (but it was waaaay too cold for that!). We feel really lucky to have stumbled on this place. It made our day. It's an hour drive from Bethlehem, Allentown, or Philadelphia and about 45 minutes from Hershey and even closer to Lebanon so it's conveniently located if you want to grab a bite as you travel on I78 past Bernville. Looking forward to returning next time we are in the Lehigh Valley. read more

We haven't been here in a while, so we thought we would go have a nice dinner. We didn't know it was under new management, but kind of suspected something was different. In the past we would have given at least a 4 out of 5 stars bordering on 5 stars because of the bartender and food quality. The menu is the same but the quality has really gone down hill. After waiting awhile to get our food, we were very disappointed at the quality/taste of the food, and them trying to pass off the "cuban" roast pork as Porchetta, and greasy fried fish. Out of 3 dinners, noone ate even half of their food. The bartender (not the one from before) didn't seem surprised, and offered no apologies. Won't go back after such a disappointment. read more

If you are looking for a hole in the wall restaurant, this place is packed full of different delicious flavors! We have always waited a bit of time to get our meal, but we were never disappointed. This place is the best in bernville hands down. Relatively new to the area and have been scouting out bars and resturants in the area. Atmosphere is great. Food is great. Prices are too. Bar was full and we slid out seats down for a local so he could order and he proceeded to buy our next round. Another couple bought the whole bar 3 rounds of shots. The band was good too. Just want to start off by saying, Do not judge a book by its cover. This is an extraordinary find. From the beautiful presentation of dishes, the flavorful food, all the way to the superb service from the staff, you feel right at home. I recommend you start with the "Cuban Cigars" or "Ecuadorian Scallop Ceviche" as an appetizer, you will not be disappointed! The Cuban Sandwiches are to die for! The Flatbread pizza's looked delicious, I will need to try one of them next time I visit. Check out their weekend special's section, its never a disappointment. Feel like a little Cuban? Well, after reading some positive reviews and getting a personal recommendation, we decided to check this little place out. What a wonderful surprise. We slipped in without a reservation because we were early enough. Our party of three split the Cuban Empanadas (with Sirracha mayo) and the Oysters Rodriguez (with sweet plantains, applewood smoked bacon, creamy spinach and horsey sauce). Both were delicious. In addition to the regular salad dressings, they have two homemade vinaigrettes (mango, and cilantro & lime). My sister and myself tried the Cilantro & lime Vinaigrette -- very nice. My husband had the Cuban sandwich (which was devoured), my sister tried the Cuban Roasted Pork with black beans and plantains, and I had the special Jerk Spiced Salmon with sweet potato fries, fried kale & black beans. Everything looked mouthwatering and tasted fantastic. We discovered that they occasionally have live music after 9:00 pm. You'll want to make a reservation at this casual laid-back establishment because the seating is limited. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, don't judge this place by the outside.
