I am rating the food truck...not the catering or delivery. The rating is not comparing the food truck to a brick and mortar restaurant, but to other food trucks. I'm giving 5 stars for service and 3 stars for food, so that's where I get the 4 stars. Ambiance is not a consideration. What stands out first is the clear, detailed screen display menu with actual prices. Most food trucks hide their prices, but Eagle Rock BBQ is transparent and, compared to other food trucks, their prices are very reasonable. The pulled pork was good. The bacon mac and cheese could have honestly used a bit more bacon and cheese. I know it's a matter of opinion, but I did not care for their mild BBQ sauce...vinegary ketchup is how I would describe it. The service was pleasant, friendly and helpful. read more

Too little too late! I was pretty excited that KidSpace brought in bbq for their event, but this was a huge let-down. They took forever on everyone's orders. Mine was 30 min for a loaded fries and ribs. The guy before me had to wait even longer! This is for a kids event, so all the customers are dealing with hungry toddlers. If I could give them 0 stars I would! Went to kids space for their hoe down event and this food truck was there. I ordered food and asked if it would be done before the next show which was an hour away and they said we will try. I didn't think much of it, till as we were waiting I witnessed one of the employees yell at his fellow employees and one of the customers... very unprofessional! I found out a lady way ahead of me had already waited an hour and 15. I knew there was no way I was gonna get my food in the next 10 min after waiting nearly an hour at that point. So I went to ask for a refund only to hear the order taker lie to the woman ordering and telling her, her food would be done in a couple minutes. I told the woman she was talking to that was a lie and the lady continued to say it would be a couple minutes... then finally stated it could be longer. They were clearly overwhelmed and took on more than they could handle. After the lady in front of me ordered, the order taker woman just walked away even though she clearly saw me in line. After calling someone over to help me I ask for a refund and they could not find my card number, finally found it under another card? But it was the correct order and it was charged to my personal account, the woman stated she had refunded me. I asked if I could get proof? I asked her if she emails? She said yup we emailed you... I just walked away because I knew that was a lie... she never had my email. Low and behold I knew I would have to dispute the transaction. Because here we are 6 days later and it was never refunded! The service was amazing, they went above and beyond. I got the turkey leg, the beef fries, and the smoked wings. Everything was a 10/10. And the fry seasoning was delicious. I've been meaning to try Eagle Rock BBQ for a while, and I finally got my chance yesterday at Santa Anita Park. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and both were great! The pulled pork had excellent flavor, and the roll was delicious. The fries had an interesting seasoning on them that I can't put my finger on. I loved them. Lastly, I got the spicy BBQ sauce. The worst BBQ - no, the worst food - that I have ever had. The food is slop! The "BBQ" is bland and unflavorful. You have to add your own sauce. The fries tasted like some frozen fries (not made from scratch fries). The pulled pork sandwich and chicken sandwich were awful - again, no flavor. The hot dog had some soggy onion straws on it. The bread was dry, and there was way too much of it for such a small portion of meat. This truck is an insult to BBQ. I wish I could find something redeeming to say about it, but it was hands down the most overpriced, bland BBQ I've ever had, and the service was awful. I tried the tri-tip sandwich with a side of cole slaw, and an order of bacon Mac and cheese. The sandwich came with a tiny portion of meat inside a very dry bun, and the tri-tip was chewy and flavorless. The cole slaw was mostly slices of radish mixed with a small bit of cabbage, and the sauce was also bland and flavorless. The Mac and cheese was also a small portion and had no bits of bacon in it. The cheese had an odd flavor and wasn't much better than the stuff you can find in a box. I paid $38 for the items above and wish I would've asked for my money back. Service was also terrible. We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, but ended up waiting an hour for our food. Others in line were just as frustrated with the wait time and the quality of food/service. I'm not sure how this truck is still in business but I can't imagine they will be for long. Avoid at all costs! read more

The very first time I ever tried "Eagle Rock Bbq" the delivery service stood out my order was delivered to a preselected location I choose right off the 210 freeway. I went with the (2) orders of pork Ribs totally outstanding and delicious and dripping off the bones and (2) vacuumed sealed seasoned chickens that were all so mouth watering and all the sides pulled pork beans were incredible tasty . This is the real deal! I'm from TN and love BBQ. The ribs fall off the bone and are great as is with dry rub (hubby's fave, from Memphis so he likes ribs the way they do at Rendezvous) or with their homemade BBQ sauce. The potato salad is the best I've had. Nate is the chef and he's so personable and friendly. He's genuinely excited about his food and hearing what you think. SO refreshing to find such rich, authentic, and flat out delicious BBQ in L.A. I've had the pulled pork, the chicken, the mac & cheese. It is ALL top of the line. And the sauce? This what what I like about individually owned, mom & pop kind of establishments: it's completely personal and unique. I've never tasted anything quite like their sauce. A subtle merging of tang, sweet, and bite that is wholly their own. Just frickin' yummy across the board. OMG this is the BEST BBQ I have eaten..maybe EVER!! I had the Whole Chicken (which was vacuumed sealed and juicy) and Bacon Potato Salad YUM!
