My problem with these auto repair shops is that they try to lure in the customer to get some cash, no matter how. I had a problem with my recently bought Honda Civic 2002 and upon some research on internet I came to know that it was a well known problem in almost all the Honda Cars from 1999-2004. I got it checked from one famous auto repair shop and they told me that its transmission needs to be rebuilt. They gave me a huge bill so I thought not to proceed. I then contacted Eagle Transmission and they said to send the car to their place. Just like many false advertisements done over TV, internet, they tried to act very professional and told me to get my car towed. They did not tell me EXPLICITLY that these are the charges you will pay after you will tow your car to our shop and if you do not get it repaired, you will have to pay this much money ( and why would they tell....) !! Just because they know that if they tell this to customer right away, he may not choose to bring his car towed to their place. Anyhow they checked my car and told me that my transmission needed to be rebuilt which was no different than what another famous auto shop told me to do. What they told on the phone was that we have some 'scanners' and blah blah that others do not have and we can root deep into your problem and it may be a different issue. Anyhow I got my money wasted on towing. They charged $160 for just 13 miles of towing !! Totally reprehensible. I do not care how they do their work or how good is their service. I am only concerned about how they treated me. What I hate the most is the fact that just like many other auto shops they do not CLEARLY inform the customer that if we are towing your car, we will charge you this much amount of money. If they do that, it will help customers make a more informed decision. and STOP throwing this shit on the customers that ' Should you find yourself stranded we offer free towing'. Tell them the truth before they tow car to your place. read more

Had my 2004 Suburban's Transfer case rebuilt here. They quoted me $1400, but after finding a hose that was leaking the total bill turned out to be a little over $1500. They also changed the fluid in the rear and front diff, change the transmission filter and gasket that Kwik Kar had put on there. This is a great shop and I have recommended them to several folks here at work. read more

Went there cause I had a check engine light on for a transmission reference. At the beginning everything sounded good. Then Frank said the transmission needed to be taken apart to fix the repairs. When he called to tell me everything that was wrong I asked for a print out of everything. Well that was to much work for him to do. I called another shop and they said that the price was reasonable to rebuild it. I let them do the work and told them it is in because of the light. Frank stated yes we will have to drive it to make sure the light stays off. Ok do what you have to do. Once I called to find out it was completed I was told one thing else needed to be fixed. I said not to do any other work because I didn't appreciate not getting the documentation prior. When I picked up the car Frank apologized and said he should have provided the documentation. He also gave a discount for the work because of this. 2 days later the light is on again. They did fulfill the work they said would be done. I would recommend going to get deveined opinion prior to them taking the transmission apart otherwise you are stuck. The whole reason to come in was a check engine light that was not fixed. I think they just want to change the transmission to get the most money and then have you come back for a lower cost repair to fix the main issue. Be careful of them especially if you are not aware of mechanical items. read more

My check engine light is on and the code is showing that the issue is with my transmission fluid getting too hot. I took it to Eagle Transmission and Allen and his staff attempted to troubleshoot my vehicle to no avail. They finally concluded that the trouble was with my engine not the transmission and recommended a repair shop nearby. Upon trying to pay I was told that there would be no charge as they "don't work like that." As someone with a limited amount of money to spend on repairs this was wonderful news. I felt that they were very competent at Eagle Transmission and if I ever have any future transmission issues they are the folks I will talk to. read more

There were a few kinks when I first got my transmission from them over three years ago but that is not uncommon when a new transmission is first installed. First, after they completed the work on the transmission and I drove it to work, the car died on me at work. It turns out that the mechanic who loosened the battery cables so they could work on the transmission did not do a good job restoring them after the work was completed. Second, and I believe this is standard practice for a transmission change, I was supposed to see them in two weeks after the job was completed in case there were any leaks etc. I saw them before the two weeks was over because it did leak. In both cases, when I brought my car in they moved me to the front of the line and resolved the issue immediately. I gave them high marks for the way they handled the issues that came up after the transmission repair as well as their work during the repair. The battery mistake was a simple mistake they owned up to and the leaking is a common possibility after a transmission repair. After that, the transmission behaved flawlessly for a year until I had a car accident unrelated to the transmission and the car was totaled. Again, the high marks are mostly for the service. Another example of good customer service was when the owner/manager drove me home after I had to leave my car there over night. A close friend of his was getting married that evening but he still made time to get me home. So overall I gave them five stars because of the service, pricing, and, after a few hiccups, the high quality of work. read more

VERY HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY BUSINESS. I had my son take his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee in because it would not pass inspection due to a transmission issue. After looking over the jeep, J.D. at Eagle called me with the grim diagnosis. The entire transmission needed to be replaced, which was going to cost more than the jeep was worth, and what's worse, he confirmed our suspicion that the engine was also on it's last leg and would need to be replaced immediately (the jeep was knocking and clanking and rattling and shaking UGH!). So, in short, J.D. pretty much said that even if I wanted him to fix the transmission, he would not because he wouldn't take my money knowing that the jeep was going to die anyway. He was so honest and up-front about everything; it is quite unusual to come by people this genuine in the car repair industry. I will definitely be going to Eagle for any and all transmission work in the future on all of our vehicles. (P.S. we have just replaced the hunk of junk ;)) read more
