Just want to give a shout out to Jimmy and staff for taking care of me today with my son's new car. Came in to take care of some items that were on the maintenance list from the dealership. Transmission flush, power steering flush, brake fluid flush, in addition to oil change and tire rotation. Jimmy also checked the brakes (without me requesting). A few days prior my son noticed to rattling up under the hood, and Jimmy and team diagnosed the issue as the alternator. Definitely was not looking to pay the large amount that it came out to in the beginning. We were looking at almost $1,100 for everything. Jimmy had a conversation with the service manager and they were able to reduce the cost of some of the items. That way we could get more things fixed than we could afford at the initial diagnosis. Because of that we will be back at this location to have More repairs that need to be done on this vehicle. Great customer service. Kept us in the loop of everything that was going on. Very friendly. Today was my first time stopping by this location and I needed my car inspected. I was nicely greeted before I even made it to the counter. Very clean, air conditioned waiting area, and it has an L-shaped tabletop counter with barstools underneath it. So, as they inspected my vehicle, I chilled at the table and watched 2 YouTube videos, each about 5 min a piece. Then, before I knew it, they were done!! I was out of there in less than 15 min!! - They don't take responsibility of their mistakes- I came to the shop with low tire! Ahmad takes my truck and said he will plug the tire! He got the key set on the truck and start playing with his phone! After that he drove the truck around the Back shop twice!! Then I went out side and saw him driving the truck on a flat tire and still on his phone! I asked him why you doing this ?! His response was - I didn't know where is the tools + he said it didn't matter because he is doing that for 15 years @ Firestone!! Obviously he made the tire bad and we can see the black marks in his track !! I asked for his manager the manager! He agreed about his mistake and he said that he will call the owner and see what he can do !! After 30 minutes he said that I can buy a tire and they will install it for free !! Scam artist's that will lie to upsell you and break your car if you decline. Would leave 0 if I could. Told them I just wanted an oil change ahead of a road trip. The shady mechanic tried upselling me on 3 different services and I declined. Within 3 days my check engine light came on and it cost me over $2,000 to fix. This could be coincidence, but this is the 2nd time I've gotten an oil change at this establishment and the 2nd time my truck has needed serious repairs within a week. read more

2 stars for service since last year. Though debating between 1 and 2 star. Ever since the best mechanic there (in my opinion) left or was let go (don't know the story), service here has really gone down. It used to be my 'go to' but not anymore. The last time I went, one of the employees (big guy, bouncer lookin) was a total ass. I parked the car, was handing him the key and saying that I need inspection. He didn't move a muscle and kept arms crossed. Practically barked at me - have insurance? I showed him the card. Him- what's the date? Looked at him like (can you not read??). Told the date. Him- pull the car in and we'll look at it. Continued to stare me down like waiting for me to do that and leave. I stopped going there and found some other places that give better service. Went this morning around 8 A.M. without an appointment. When I arrived there were no cars being serviced. I asked a young Caucasian man (employee) if they did tire repairs? He responded, I'll ask my manager. The manager (older Caucasian man wearing glasses) comes out and asks the young employee (with me standing there), "what does he want?" The young employee says, "he wants to know if we do tire repairs?" The manager looks at the young employee (with me standing there) and says, "we don't do tire repairs. To confirm, I said to the manager, "so you do not do tire repairs?" He never established eye contact with me but responded, "no we don't do tire repairs." As I was leaving, another employee (Hispanic man) was arriving for work so I stopped him and asked, "do you work here, and if so, how long and does this place repair tires?" He responded, "yes I've been working here almost 3 years and unless the tire isn't repairable, we repair tires all the time." So I asked, "why would the older gentleman tell me you don't repair tires here?" His response, "I have no idea Sir...tire repair is a service I personally do myself so its odd he would tell you that." Not sure how many would label this experience; lazy, tired, disrespectful, misrepresentation, or dishonesty but as a black man, I felt 1000% discriminated against. Brought my wife's car in for a full synthetic oil change toward the end of the day (30 minutes til close). They had me in and out in about 10 minutes and also cleaned the windshield, vacuumed both front floorboards, and topped off the tire pressure on all four tires. I usually bring all our cars to this location to do our oil changes and inspections. Well on Sunday that will change. Brought one of our cars to have it inspected. Went into the waiting room and I see them raise the hood to check under the hood. Went outside to ask what they were looking for or what is needed to look in the engine to do a State inspection? I guess the manager at that time says that he has to check the fluids, belts and other stuff in the engine to pass inspection. WOW! never heard of that before? I have our cars done inspections and never had them look under the hood for those to be inspected. The manager says if he doesn't he will loose his job! Come on guys, you guys are acting like the other oil change places to find stuff to extra charge, suggest needing to do this or do that! I just came in to get an inspection done, not to blow smoke up my a%&! Just another Kwik Kar place I will not go back to get our oil change and inspections done! Oh just to let your guys know and other people know, this is what is required for Texas Car Inspections to pass: Headlights, stop lights, indicator lights, and hazard lights. Braking system: foot and parking brakes. Wheel components including tire tread depth. All mirrors (side and rearview). Window tint and coating. Horn. Seatbelts and airbag system. Exhaust system. Gas caps (for vehicles 2-24 model years old). I don't see anything about the belts, fluids and anything in the Engine to pass Texas required Inspection! read more

In the Auto repair world there are so many dishonest people out there. I came here reluctantly because the check engine light was on in my Toyota Prius, and the scope of work was wide open from diagnostics to who knows what. The dealership quoted me $160 for a diagnostic test and then they would apply that towards whatever repair they would find if I had them work on it. I first went to O'Reilly Parts and they did a complimentary Check engine light check and gave me a diagnostic code. The nice guy at O'Reilly Auto parts highly recommended this Kwik Kar location, and said that this location works on a whole fleet of Prius's. So I chose to give them a try and when I arrived I was surprisingly greeted by a young guy who then introduced me to Jacob. Now I am going to cut to the chase otherwise this review will be too long and boring. Bottom line is Jacob is a 1st quality dude! He is honest and straightforward. He took the car in and had his shop work on it and got the whole job done for under $200. You can fully trust him as he will not take advantage of you and will do the right thing. I will definitely be coming back here again and I have bookmarked them in my favorites. read more

I came into kwik kar today to have my back break pads replaced due to Valvoline Express telling me it was something that needed to be done. To my surprise today Nick, informed me that my pads were in good condition. That no work needed to be done. I had already paid Valvoline for the an oil change,front pads and a break flush and was coming to kwik kar to have the back ones replaced. I was so happy to come into an honest staff that wasn't trying to sell me something that I didn't need replaced. Nick and Jacob took great care of me and it was so greatly appreciated! They are friendly, and will make sure that your auto issues are solved without any unnecessary up-charging. Depending on how many customers are already there, it may take a while for them to get to you at the counter, so you may need to wave someone down if you see them outside. The waiting area is a little small, but it is nice, quiet, and cool. Regarding my auto issue, there were some weird scraping noises that happened when backing out of the driveway and turning the wheel. At first, they couldn't find anything wrong, but further explaining the issue led to them finding something loose, so they tightened up the part. I am glad that they were able to fix the issue so quickly! read more

I've been taking my car to Kwik Kar Lube & Tune for the past several years and have had mostly good experiences. Pros: - The service center is clean and well staffed. There is plenty of seating, magazines, TV, a clean restroom and free coffee (& donuts on the weekends). - For usual oil changes and tune ups they work pretty quickly; if they see anything unusual they will call you into the bay to show you what they've found. - They will print you out an estimate where it clearly explains any work that needs to be done and how much it will cost. - Their master mechanic B.C. Collins is extremely knowledgeable about vehicles and will not hesitate to explain what needs to be done and why. Cons: - I have received conflicting info depending on which mechanic looks at the car (e.g. wheel bearings needed replacing but when I brought it in I was informed hub assembly should also be replaced which doubles the cost) - The master mechanic doesn't work weekends - for major auto repairs you'll need to bring the car during the week. - If they order parts for your car they will get them from the dealer which means you will pay 2 or 3 times more than what you could find online. - This is essentially an oil change shop; if they are experiencing a rush there might be a handful of guys working on your car. This gets things done faster - but it also means that not all of the mechanics are good. When one of them accidentally breaks something no one takes responsibility. I'm sure this is common problem for shops that deal with older cars. Summary: I rate Kwik Kar 3-stars because they can probably do most of what you'll need without a problem. And I imagine if you do have a problem they'll at least try to help you. Car repair is not easy if you're not technically inclined. You have to find someone who is trustworthy but also good at communicating technical info to non-technical people. Kwik Kar does this pretty well on the simple stuff, but on the more difficult repairs they could probably stand to improve. read more

SCAM!!!! Avoid at all costs. Especially if you're a woman. Long story short, they tried to tell me I needed FOUR new tires for my vehicle in order to pass my state inspection. My car is less than two years old, has been gently driven, and tires have been rotated with oil changes. That didn't sound right to me, so I walked. I went to a different inspection place later that week (without telling them what Kwik Kar said), and they PASSED my inspection without hesitation. After the fact, I told the mechanic what had happened at Kwik Kar, and he responded, "Unfortunately I think they were just trying to sell you things. I would estimate you have 8-10 months of life left on these tires". There's more to this story (when I balked at replacing the tires, they tried to FORCE me into proceeding, additional dishonesty from the technician and also store manager during our exchange, etc.)- too long to type, but trust me. It was totally scummy and exactly the kind of extortion-like tactics that give these places a bad name. In the end, I had to pay for two inspections, but I'm relieved I didn't needlessly fork over $500 to replace perfectly adequate tires. read more

This store is full of incompetent idiots! On 2/11/20, my wife arrived and was told by Louis the technician that she needed full synthetic oil, which was a complete lie! Either that or he doesn't know what he's doing. She asked them to wait while she verified with me, but they started the work anyway! When I explained the issue to the manager Robert, he defended Louisa. This after I offered that they speak to Ford directly regarding the oil requirements. I have gone to Kwik Kar (Frisco and Willow Bend Area locations) and I have always received a good transparent service. Today, I visited this location and requested an oil change, Motor craft specifically, the attendant completely fails to disclose that brand of oil is only carried in bottles and not pump. They proceed to change my oil with bottles instead of pump which that already was uncomfortable as it feels unreliable, then one other attendant checks my tires and leaves all my tire caps loose, thankfully I checked or else he was going to make me lose my nice caps. The same attendant Tallen who "forgot" to mention about the bottle vs pump oil proceeds to attempt to charge me over $100, I was horrified as I never pay more than $70-75 for the same service at the other kwik kars. He said well we did "bottle service". I did not ask for bottle service as if it was something special or better, in fact, leaving it up to an attendant to do the oil manually like that is dangerous. ....I said well I didnt ask you for bottle service I asked for a normal oil change, if you dont have a pump that is not my problem, you needed to disclose that as soon as I asked for motorcraft.... "Oh yeah im sorry I didnt say it.....he was not sorry he knew exactly what he was doing. He went to speak with the "invisible" manager who gave a discount to compensate for the "we didnt tell you error".....I still overpaid for the service by a lot...needless to say, will never return to this location .....If you go, be sure to ask what they are doing ahead of time so they dont surprise you and act like it was an innocent act. 2 words, RIP OFF. read more

I thought I just needed an oil change, but Luis and Joshua discovered that I went over my miles and needed and engine flush. They were so honest it was refreshing.
