I didn't know that earls changed their happy hour menu so much! It's definitely much more condensed with a lot less food options to choose from. On the bright side, there are lots of drinks! Who doesn't love half off cocktails and the cheekies are soo adorable!!

I came to get my birthday dessert! It was so delicious. And it was Tuesday so we were happy to hear it was half-price bottles of wine, great deal! Then we waited until 9 PM for late night happy hour and got a noodle salad with ahi tuna and two lettuce wraps.

Really nice brunch spot! Love their happy menu until noon. $40 aperol spritz tower - 4 drinks beautifully presented. The prawn eggs benedict ($17) was quite nice but a little under seasoned. Love the crispy potatoes but they give out less compared to last year and the dish is $1 more expensive.

I was surprised to see the three and below star reviews after our experience today. Had I seen it, sadly, I probably would not have considered coming here. Soooo glad I didn't see the reviews first. First, let me say it was hot, we just flew in from Los Angeles, I didn't sleep the night before, and we had been walking for about 30 minutes. Not a great combo, but we were all (mostly) in a good mood and all of us were hungry. We were actually headed to a different restaurant across the street from Earls, but it happened to be closed. Yelp said it was open. Oops. So we wandered over to Earls - people seemed to be enjoying themselves, the menu had a lot of options, and we really wanted to get off our feet. We came for dinner around 5PM. Fairly busy but no wait time at all. I started with their strawberry guava slush cocktail. Definitely what I needed to cool off. Oh, and plenty of water. All the staff greeted us so friendly. We asked our server for recommendations. Haley was spot on with every recommendation for us. We started with the seafood sampler plate. Crazy delish. The ahi tuna was buttery and the crispy onions added such a nice sweet compliment. I even tried the oysters (still not a fan, but these didn't make me gag - that's actually a huge compliment from me on oysters). I came here with my husband and twin 22 year old sons - I was barely able to grab one of the shrimps. Again, not really a fan of shrimp or lobster and both were crazy delicious. Would definitely get this again. It was around this time that one large group sitting in the dining room where we were started to get really loud - the guy was literally howling and making barking noises. Who does that at a restaurant??? It did get a lot louder from there. So, I guess that would be my only negative comment here (at least to me) is the restaurant, while quite lovely in decor, has kind of a loud bar feel to it. I'm sure it's fun for many, just not what I would look for. Still, not enough for me to bump this down to 4 stars. For the main course we ordered the ahi tuna bowls, my one son got a chicken noodle dish (don't remember what it was called), and my other son told Haley to pick his meal (he does that a lot when we travel). Haley asked a couple of questions as to dietary restrictions or allergies, and based on our earlier conversation when she introduced herself, knew that my son is headed to the Navy. Armed with this information she aced it again - brought him a BBQ Chicken and Ribs plate with a slaw and potato salad that was outstanding. The ribs juicy and flavorful. The potato salad was amazing. I didn't try his chicken. My son LOVES ribs so that could not have been a better selection. To close out, we tried the key lime pie, white chocolate crème brûlée, and the butter toffee chocolate desert. I loved the key lime. Didn't care for the crème brûlée, and didn't get a taste of the butter toffee chocolate. All in all, a great start to our trip. Haley, I hope you enjoy your visit with your mom. You were just so wonderful with us and your recommendations were spot on. Thank you!

Great steak frites and friendly staff. The decor was upscale and comfortable. I had a iced tea which came up with a compostible reed straw.

I had a fun night here with some coworkers. The service was great; our waiter (I think Connor, but I could be totally off) was very friendly and let us hang around as long as we wanted after we finished our food, and the food and drinks came in a timely manner after we ordered. For drinks, I had a passion fruit chili margarita, which was delicious and just strong enough, more fruity than spicy. I ordered the angry tofu lettuce wraps as my main course. This could work as a very light meal or an appetizer. The wraps were tasty and the lettuce was very fresh and crisp. There wasn't too much sauce, so they weren't messy to eat, but there was enough that the wraps weren't dry. I had some of the warm spinach + three cheese dip that someone else at my table ordered. This is highly recommended by me; the dip was rich and very herby and the toasted bread slices that were served with it were also really high quality. They should either increase the portion of dip or decrease the amount of bread - two plates of this were ordered at the table and the dip ran out before the bread on both - there was a LOT of bread. I had the caramelized vanilla cheesecake for dessert, also very good. I thought the presentation of this was clever - the cheesecake, cream and berries, and florentine cookie were all complex enough to enjoy alone, but it was also fun to use the cookie to scrape off cheesecake and top with cream and berry compote. The prices don't look cheap, but the portions are mostly very generous and it's very good food. Compared to many other restaurants serving food of this quality, the quantity per dollar spent is a bit higher. Also worth noting that they have a great vegan section of the menu. This is the second Earls I've been to and the second good experience - as far as large chains go, this place is pretty classy and I would be happy to eat here (or at a different Earls location) again.

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.
