Menu 2023

July 2023. Roadtripping through. When I saw it was all day breakfast, I said yes. I love breakfast. I don't know what the other low reviews were about. Staffing has been hard for any establishment these last few years. This place was packed when we arrived at the back end of lunch rush. 3 servers. People rotated in as others were leaving. The interior design was local art put up for sale. Lots of country motif. Different themed wreaths and unique things. I saw something different on the menu. I asked the waitress what "scrapple" is. She tried to describe it with a look on her face that had me smiling. Then she asked the cook as she walked by. She said, "If you haven't had it, don't order it. You won't like it!" We all had a good laugh with that. I googled it. Being from the Midwest, I had to know. "It is traditionally a mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and wheat flour, often buckwheat flour and spices. The mush is formed into a semi-solid congealed loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then pan-fried before serving. Scraps of meat left over from butchering, not used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is primarily eaten in the southern Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. " I took the cooks word and passed on it. I got a delightful breakfast, and hubby got the meatball sub, which he enjoyed greatly. The waitress was great. The food came out hot. They were busy, so it took a bit, but that was expected. We ate our fill. I also was super curious about the homemade Whoopie Pies that we had to get one to go. It was awesome, too. Make the stop. It's a good establishment and not a chain. Enjoy your all-day breakfast.

Fantastic place!!!! Cozy inviting atmosphere, great food and the best people! I sat at counter for awhile both times I was there. Waitresses super accommodating and this place obviously delivers consistently b/c lots of regulars stop in and are treated like family. The food is fresh and a great value for the money. I look forward to visiting the Earlystown whenever I am in the area.

My wife and I first time to this quaint diner. A large menu. Service and staff were pleasant and helpful with our order. Our food arrived hot when delivered to our table.

I was in town visiting family when we swung by the Red Horse Tavern for dinner. A quaint spot with…read morea classic look the Horse has friendly staff and a parking area that is easy to get in and out of. The recent menu has a great diversity of options ranging from salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I elected to go with the Birra ramen, not something I would expect to find at this establishment or in this neck of the woods. I was knocked back at how good it was. The broth had rich flavor and the right amount of spice, not enough to burn your mouth, but warm it up and tingle your lips. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. It hit the spot on a chilly winter night. If you find yourself in the gap and looking for spot to grab a good hearty bite to eat and drink, the Red Horse is your spot!

We started with fried pickles and they were good..I'm not much of a pickle guy. I had the old fashion burger with froes and a side salad. Burger rocked and the fries were amazing. The side salad was top notch, my favorite dressing orange vinaigrette. My wife had the french dip and loved it. My daughter and her best buddy "E" shared the smashburger and burria taco dishes...they loved it and were stuffed. Thank You Mikayli for the wonderful service and such a friendly server.

I was in on the south west side of State College for work today and found TNEC using "local…read morefavorites" search on Yelp. Nice little diner just outside of State College of SR 45. I had a great lunch with an awesome Rueben and shoe string fries. Home made corned beef on an excellent marbled rye. FYI The fries were a little cold. I also considered biscuits and gravy but they don't serve home fries after 11:00, odd for a breakfast all day place. The banana bread French toast also caught my eye so I grabbed a slice of banana bread to go. Service was fast and friendly Prices are in line with the "new normal", sandwich and a drink was $16.

The ambience was bright and clean. Pricing was reasonable. Our server was new and attentive to our experience. The food was OK. My wife asked for her Florentine eggs Benedict to come out hard and they were soft. She had to send them back to the kitchen for additional cook time. My eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and the ham was good and the highlight of the dish. The hollandaise sauce however was watery and on the cool side. The hashbrowns were average. The star of breakfast was the corned beef hash, simply top notch. We will return for a second experience.

It was strange that they…read morecouldn't just seat us when there was empty tables as more parties showed up waiting for a table too. Eventually, we got seated after 5 minutes of waiting around (no idea what that was all about). I ordered the Grilled Breakfast Burrito ($12.29) with sausage and fruits. The burrito was simple and a b it bland. Luckily, it helped with the salsa and ketchup for more flavor. The fruits seemed previously frozen, but decent. The food was just a-okay, but the fries were crispy and crunchy. Just your typical local brunch spot with classic diner vibes and American staples. The space is clean and AC was strong though for a hot, summer day.

Found meter parking right out front which was very convenient for my uniquely abled girlfriend and her service dog. Service was spot on from the host getting us a table to our server Lauren/Laura (cannot remember name, sorry!) who was professional from greeting to handing us back the credit card. Absolutely loved how she checked the back of my card and asked me for my ID which I write which gave her a well deserved tip, Thank you. Food was delicious. I had pancakes with scrambled eggs and corned beef hash, girlfriend had a vegetable dish. Pancakes were some of the best I could remember in recent memory. Could have easily eaten three more and skipped the eggs and hash. When telling our server how we ended up here she mentioned that she was from the south and understands how good the Waffle House waffles are, but she insisted theirs were better! My girlfriend enjoyed her meal although she would have enjoyed the home fries shredded, I'll have to remember to remind her about that. Great spot in a beautiful town. Would travel here again!
