I saw one with the specs I wanted online. I was stressing about the "car from a dealership" but called anyways and was transferred to Austin....It was Easy from that moment. He was On point, and we picked a time. When my wife and I arrived, the car was ready, waiting and cooling in the shade. EXCELLENT. I didn't like the Camry, but during the test drive Austin listened to me on what I was looking for...when we got back he suggested an entirely different car based on what I had talked about. Outstanding Service - Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa "THE BEST!!" I cannot say enough good things about the service department at Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa Az. I recently brought in my 2017 Toyota Prius V for an ABS actuator issue. After doing extensive research, I knew this could easily turn into one of those nightmare stories you hear about where customers are dismissed, delayed, or stuck paying for a known defect. That was not my experience here... not even close. From the moment I contacted them, the service team took my concerns seriously. There was no hesitation and no runaround. They handled the repair professionally and efficiently. The ABS actuator was fixed properly and my car now runs perfectly.They even provided me with a loaner vehicle, which made the entire experience stress-free. Bought a used truck at Earnhart about 4 or 5 months ago. Oil was at 14%, thought time to change oil and filter. Short of using a breaker bar the oil pan bolt was way too tight. Also, the oil filter housing was also way to tight. There is no need for this. I measured the old oil only 5 quarts NOT 6 quarts as mentioned in the owner's manual. I hope there is no damage to the motor. So, if you plan to buy a used car and get a free oil change check the dip stick that there is enough oil in the motor. read more

I moved to Gilbert a year ago. I switched to this dealership and was happy with it. I've come a couple times time and never felt like they were trying to upsell things my car didn't need, etc. it always felt fair.... Until this week. I was shocked, I came in for routine maintenance. I'm typically pretty good about my car, I take good care of it. This was not like the past visits, I was quoted for $2k of work for my Prius! That is ridiculous. My attendant never brought it up to me either, just sent me a text with the recommendations all in red. I called an auto part shop while I was still at the dealership and went straight there from the dealership. They were fair and honest. I will be going to that shop from here on out not a dealership. Wasn't very satisfied with the service team. My 2011 Toyota Prius was having an issue where it occasionally would not start or connect to the key, so I brought it to this place. What happened in the end was that they told me they "recommended" replacing the key for $600.00. Mind you, this is for a 13 year old car not exactly a state of the art piece of equipment. In the end, after I determined 600.00 unjustifiable, they just hit me with the $180.00 diagnostic fee for what was essentially a guess. I'd be cool paying the steep $180.00 if they actually identified a problem but they didn't. As someone who's been going to Toyota dealers for basic service for a long time I'm strongly considering ending that tradition in exchange for more reasonable people who genuinely care about helping you and not just about fulfilling weekly quotas. I don't recommend servicing your car at this specific location. read more

Brought wife's car in for an oil change on a Sat. at a prearranged time. Service adviser acted like we were a nuisance to him. He never communicated with us. No communication. Called to pick car up at 5:55 p. Service dept already closed for the day. Supposed to be open until 6pm. Now out of the car until Mon. Still no call or update. Wouldn't recommend them. Update: Received a call from Nick, the service manager. Walked thru the situation and I appreciated him calling me. very disappointed in my service today it feels like last time and this time the service personnel just don't care he was very short with me telling me it would be 4 hrs and I had appt and got there early and during the 4 hr wait which I have never in my life had a 4 hr wait he never kept in the loop he never checked on me and when my car was done he told me the keys were in my car and the car was locked and I had to wait in the sun until they found the keys. I've been coming here for service for a Toyota 4Runner since 2017 (after an initial visit to Big Two ended up being miserable). Note, I have never bought a car from them but did look at vehicles once on their lot and had no complaints with the experience. For service, I appreciate that the service advisors seem to be able to scale their communication based on if you are somewhat of a car "person" or not. I'll do most of my easy stuff like filters and what not myself but prefer to let the dealer work fluid changes just for the convenience of it. I've never felt pressure on upselling services really; just straightforward: "We'd recommend this and this is what it costs." Now as my 2nd 4Runner is at 50K miles I've started to take them up on some of the suggestions and reserach usually indicates that they are not being excessively conservative or trying to sell things that are unnecessary (like for instance, I added on a brake fluid flush at 50K miles that I honestly probably should have already done). Also just dealt with them for a first warranty repair to have a noisy (and likely not fully functioning) blower motor swapped out on my Toyota extended warranty. It was a piece of cake and am glad to see some of my warranty cost coming back (since it's always a gamble on if they are worth it or not but it is nice having piece of mind). Overall, you cannot go wrong with them for Toyota service and I think as a dealer they're probably alright too. read more

Top notch service advisors with an emphasis on product safety. I bought a vehicle in 2021 and another in 2022 from one of the "other" Mesa Toyota dealerships. Unfortunately that other dealer's service team couldn't live up to their promises nor my expectations. Fast forward two years. I have found the East Valley's hidden gem of vehicle service in the Earnhardt Toyota Dealership. The talent they have onboard is second to none. Service advisors Devin and Adaliene are intelligent professionals who get the job done right and well ahead of schedule. Just today, I left my 2021 Camry Hybrid to have a potential safety issue diagnosed. Historically with other dealerships I have found that low revenue generating repairs and especially warranty repairs go straight to the back of the line. Such dealerships are impeccable with their salesmanship but when needs arise, most service advisors treat customers like an inconvenience. Not Earnhardt. As soon as I showed up [on time] for my scheduled appointment, I was immediately approached and the team went right to work. At each step of the process, I felt like my concerns were clearly understood and my time was valued. My service advisor expressed a genuine desire to understand my concerns thoroughly. Early on Devin set clear expectations about the process and exceeded each one of them. He understands urgency from the inside out. Hours before initially promised, I had not only a comprehensive diagnosis completed but a part on order as well. Fortunately this potential safety issue was not as severe as it could have been. I know that Devin, Adaliene and the rest of the Earnhardt Toyota service team care about my family's safety. They take the time to actually listen and put the customer's concerns first every time. Upon taking my 4Runner to a Non Toyota facility for tire balancing it was discovered my lug nuts were not tightened by them when my vehicle was returned to me. By the time it was discovered, I was driving on one lug nut on my front driver tire. As you can imagine this was extremely dangerous! Scheduled a complimentary maintenance and how two issues to be corrected and one was unable to be fixed, they were too busy and other was fixed temporarily and problem is back. This is second brand we've purchased from Earnhardt and yet to have a good service relationship. They overbooked, only do the minimum and try to get you to come back. Toyota makes a great car, but their interior design is horrible. The parking break rubs my leg and right where the arm rest should be. Switches and buttons are difficult to find and the dash is already hanging down (one issue to fix) in 4 months. read more

I came to Toyota because the back door on our Toyota Rav4 was broken and would not open. We bought the broken piece from another Toyota, but we broke it again. We came to Earnhardt because the Toyota we normally visited was out of stock of the item we needed. Nicholas, the manager, knew we had bought the piece before, so he gave us the new piece, and he also went out to our car and installed it, himself, to make sure we did not break it again. The lack of communication from Earnhardt Toyota is abhorrent. Not just from one person but multiple people. So many "will call you back today" that were not followed through, agreed on a price and the vehicle I was suppose to originally get changed at least 3 times, I was given the wrong options on how I could pay for my vehicle, I was asked to sign final inspection papers before seeing the vehicle.. Guess what? I did not sign before seeing vehicle and good thing because the vehicle was dirty inside. I will be nice and not use specific people's names. The man that did all the final paperwork was absolutely disgusting as he pounded on his computer keys, tried to push me into purchasing extended warranty, demanded to know why I did not want to purchase it, and then tried to lower the price of warranty since I was paying via Wells Fargo and they have a "special arrangement" with them. By the way, the extended warranty started at 11% of vehicle price, then went down to 8% (because of WF Bank). I had a friend that bought a brand new vehicle the week before, paid the same way I did and got the extended warranty for 4% of the cost of his vehicle. Hmmmmm. Why is that Earnhardt? Because yes, you are all bull! You have a ways to go with your customer service, honesty, and attitudes. read more

In October our Toyota Highlanders transmission went out 4 miles from Showlow. We had it towed to Alvarez Auto in Snowflake, AZ. We called the local Toyota deslership-they wouldn't return our calls. We finally decided to have Alvarez Auto to replace transmission. Earnhardt Toyota sold a defective transmission to Alvarez Auto. 3 weeks after picking up the Highlander it obviously had a problem. Earnhardt Auto, who willingly sold the transmission to this small mechanic, refused to warranty the part because they weren't a Toyota dealership. They wanted us to drive 10 hours round trip on a bad transmission to get it looked at by them. My husband talked to Victor at Earnhardt Toyota and they told him as long as a Toyota dealership looked at the Highlander they would warranty the transmission. We took it to the Toyota dealership in our town, spent $250 for this paper saying the transmission was bad, and took it back to Alvarez. Them Earnhardt Auto back tracked on what they told us and spent 3 more weeks fighting about replacing the warranty transmission. We just discovered Alvarez Auto bought the transmission themselves and Toyota dealership is saying the new transmission just installed is not under warranty. This was an $8000 transmission. From October to November and December to now we hadn't had the transmission and the reason is because these guys offer horrible customer service and refuse to warranty their products they sell to other mechanics. Mechanics do not use this dealership and customers find somewhere else to use. Earnhardt Toyota you will be hearing from us how unacceptable this behavior is. The younger guy that was trying to tag team with him seems super chill at 1st but is super pushy about you getting a loan thur them and trying to push a Camry on you when you don't like or want one. I don't like pushy people. I went in for a service oil change and asked specifically to make sure my car's not left unlocked. Upon getting my vehicle I was missing my 2nd key At the register. They said it's in the car. I told the service advisor I specifically asked To make sure the key is not left in the car as I have things in the car I want to make sure are secure. Hey apologised and said nothings gonna get missing. We don't know. You don't know if there's a client walking through the parking lot. There may be cameras, but cameras don't stop the act from happening. Attention to detail is definitely missing in this dealership. The hood of my pearl white car has oil smudges on it, also not happy that my seat was pushed almost all the way to the steering wheel. Not that it was so much work for me to move it back but it's just the attention to detail that's lacking especially when getting a higher value car such as a Toyota. I would expect lesser value or service out of a lesser brand. When I arrived at the service station they also told me that they no longer wash cars because of covid 19. Without washing cars they could move the cars through the service station a lot faster. That's one of the reasons why I go to a dealership to make sure it's all done and done right. I would have given a one star review Come about because the bathrooms were relatively clean and they had my car done 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The service center absolutely sucks. Stephanie Brewer is rude every single time I come here, and for some reason she is always the person I have to deal with. I came for a simple oil change today and was told it was going to take 1.5 hours, so I decided to wait. After 3 hours of waiting, I decided to ask about the status of my vehicle considering I had waited double the time I was told. The first person I asked said they couldn't help me yet didn't direct me to someone who can, then when I asked someone else they told me it would be another 30 minutes. 3.5 hours for an oil change is insane, and there were only 3 other people in the waiting room. I understand this is a busy dealership and I am sure they have a lot of customers. But it would be nice if they could update me that things might be taking significantly longer to give me the option to either stay or go. Once I finish out this service package, I don't think I will be returning. And next time I definitely wont be waiting around for my oil change!! read more
