So overall the food is good BUT...it's a little overpriced for what you get. The tiny bowl of chips and salsa was okay but $7.50 for the serving size in the picture. We finished half the chips before we ran out of salsa and it was $2.50 for a small salsa refill. Won't be getting these again. I had the throwback taco and the pork carnitas taco. The throwback was beef and it was okay. Not a lot of flavor but decent. The pork carnitas was very good and I will be getting it again. My husband got the same two items in bowls and he enjoyed them. The ambiance is okayish. All high tops inside and the seating was not comfortable at all. My legs really hurt by the end of the meal. I've never commented on seating before on any of my posts so just know that's how much I felt they were hard on the body. Service was fast but I don't like that you have to order on the app or go to the bar. It's very impersonal but is what it is I guess. Over all we spent $90+ on 4 tacos 3 drinks and chips and salsa. First time at this business, their downtown location seemed like there was enough street parking etc. the inside vibe was nice and clean. Staff was friendly, they do not offer flights so if you're like me I like to try what they have to then order a larger glass. Ordered some Nachos for a snack which were pretty good. As far as their beer it was just ok, refreshing and light. They had some Mug club growler thing so unless you bought into that you couldn't get certain beers to go. This was a bit out of the way to get to and probably would not be my choice to come back. read more

Garrison City Beerworks is a beautiful space with a huge menu of beer. I only stayed on the main floor but it does look like there's more space up a small flight of stairs. I tried the following beers: My Favorites: Seismic Circles: Blueberry is a nitro version of the sour, which made it velvet smooth. Sweet at first with a tart finish. Bluebird State of Mind (2023) is smooth double ipa with sweet notes. Moral Sweatshirt is a peanut butter stout, light peanut butter on the tongue. It is pretty light for a stout. The rest: Social Navigation tastes like a regular triple. Cold Is the Night is a hazy, bitter after taste Silhouetto is a saison, nothing stood out. Crispy Boy is a pilsner, not my favorite. I like their beers and definitely will be trying more! read more

I've been hearing good things about this place for a while and I'm so glad I had time to finally check it out. Simple but solid spot for beer. I'm generally not a person who has more than one beer in a day as I find them filling and like variety. Here, I had three beers. They're delicious and there's tons of options - sours, stouts, IPAs, porters. Tacos were good. Ambiance was relaxed but modern. They have tons of board games, including cribbage. I'm here for the tacos- I could leave the beer. We had a few different half pours as they do not do flights (why???) so we didn't get to sample everything. What we had was okay but not great. I didn't like any of their dark options. Their blueberry sour was pretty good. The IPA we had was average. But the tacos... were some of the best I've had in a long while! They have lots of options. The price is per taco and is a little steep in my opinion. If you had 3 people with you id recommend just getting one of each. Vegetarian options are available and delicious! Of note- it was freezing in there when we were there. Kept my coat on the whole time. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking here is a pain because it's downtown Dover but there's a lot across the road if you don't mind a little stroll. It's super cute inside! read more

The team here continues to produce delicious beers that rotate at a good pace so things never get stale on their menu. Plus, their taco menu is on point - such a great addition during the pandemic! And, they are expanding into the space next door, which means they have a little more seating available, especially outdoors which is GREAT now that spring (and the nicer weather) is finally here! Being a lover of IPAs, Garrison City has quickly become a favorite brewery of mine. Garrison specializes in New England IPAs, however, they always have a variety of beers on tap including stouts, sours, and goses. The facility is industrial meets modern. There is a lower section with high top tables and a higher section with benches. The venue brings in a lot of light, which adds to the appeal of the modernized establishment. The staff is always typically nice and attentive. The brewery also provides patrons with some street taco options, as well as some snacks. I have tried the Asian tacos which were fantastic and extremely reasonably priced. Some of my favorite beer rotations from Garrison include the Unbranded Concrete Mouse and the Pillow Talk, both of which are New England IPAs. However, their Brazen Piñata, which was a gose with grilled pineapple and fermented in tequila barrels, is also a favorite along with their Orange Mocha Frappuccino which is a white stout busting with Frappuccino flavor. This will definitely continue to be a venue I venture out to in Dover! Worth checking out when you are in the area. read more

Been here twice now and it is definitely worth the long drive! The brewery is nice and cozy on the inside and very clean. They have a separate back room with more seating and a tv to play old video games on, which is so cool. The service was very fast and efficient even when it's relatively busy. A pitstop at Garrison City made this beer lover's day. After a mixed experience at Deciduous (4 beers with milk sugar in them. I'm of the opinion milk sugar belongs more in cereal than in beer, but to each their own!), we had plans to visit 7th Settlement and then Garrison City, but I found out that 7th Settlement had sadly closed. We debated whether it was worth the 20 or so minute drive in the wrong direction just for GCB, and I'm so glad we did. There were probably about 6 beers on draft of varying styles, a gose, two that were fruity and creamy (more lactose... patiently waiting for this trend to end), but IPAs are definitely where they shine. Their Daybreak seemed to be the most readily available, and it was fantastic. A hazy, fruity hopbomb, as was the Edison double IPA. They also had a wethopped IPA which was a lot more dank, less citrus. In my opinion, these IPAs were on par with a lot of the sought after beers in Portland where we're from like Bissell Brothers, Austin Street, etc. But while those places seem to often be filled with weekender beer tourists in search of cans to get up on their Instagram page, this vibe at Garrison City was a lot more relaxed; as other reviews mention like a neighborhood pub with locals. Locals that like good beer. On a late Saturday afternoon, the taproom was full of sun and friendly faces, bartenders included. I wish I had remembered the girl's name who was helping us, but she was funny, knowledgeable, and proud of their beer and wanting others to find at least one they might like. Between the delicious beer, the cozy taproom that felt like someone's living room, and the nice people, I could have stayed here all day tying one on. It's a bit of a haul for a direct shot from Portland, but anytime we're in the area again this will be at the top of the list. read more

"Unspeakably awesome" is the first phrase that pops into mind to describe this cozy little gem. GCB has the feel of a friendly family-owned neighborhood pub, which of course it is. No lavish expenditures on fancy finishes + light fixtures, just a simple unpretentious + inviting space. We do not come to enjoy architectural design, we come for beer! Honestly I think the 4-flight of IPA I tippled here at Garrison is the best one I have ever had, and believe me I have been fielding some serious competition! For those of us true disciples of the Hop, we look no further than the IPA, why would one? Though similar in appearance, each offering had a very unique + beautifully complex flavor profile. Even the Creamsickle IPA featuring flavoring of vanilla + orange peel was delicious, and I generally don't go in for such things. But of course the crowning glory was the seriously hoppy Isosceles double IPA: simply incomparable. I will certainly be making the trip up again soon from Boston to enjoy the great beer + wonderfully friendly atmosphere of this establishment. Thanks Garrison! read more

This was a great little brewery in the heart of Dover. They brew a lot of beers, based on their cans above the taps, however don't offer a ton on draft. I like that, because it helps my decision making become a little easier. I enjoyed just about every beer I had. They had board games as well as Nintendo 64 for us to play, which is always fun. An exceptional business here in downtown Dover. The beer is beautifully brewed and flawless in taste, if you like beer you will love this spot. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was completely packed, I had a couple great tastes there of their potent brews (8.0% and 8.3%) and took a four pack home. I wish I lived closer because it really was such a wonderfully run business. The take homes were 16oz each and only $4.50 each, now THAT is just a killer price! read more

I was eagerly awaiting this brewery opening in Dover and it hasn't disappointed. They've got a comfortable tasting room with a friendly staff that's happy to discuss the beers they're working on. Every beer they've put on tap has been great. The emphasis so far has been on hoppy IPAs and pale ales but they've had a couple others to try. They've got 6 beers on tap and are limited to a 4 oz. pour of each beer due to NH nano brewery laws. You can buy a crowler to take home though (cool can/growler hybrid). Garrison City Beerworks is a very welcome addition to Dover and I'm excited to see what they brew up next. I just hope they'll eventually work things out to start serving pints. read more

I bookmarked this a while ago so I feel obligated to submit a review, but I can't really rate it fairly. I had a flight, which was reasonably priced and came in cute glasses, but I didn't really like any of the beers, mostly because they were all too dark and hoppy for my taste. One of them tasted like pine, as advertised, but it was like drinking a whole forest... augh. The whole 'crowler' concept was kind of weird too, but I guess it makes for better storage? I love a brewery that offers 4 oz. pours! Sometimes you want to sample a couple beers but don't want to spring for the full flight. The pale ale was excellent; the "burn the car" was unique and tasty, the stout was solid. The dark saison was not my idea of a saison, but was still good in its own way. As for snacks, the maple popcorn was so so good! Finally, when I asked the bartender to recommend a restaurant for an early (4 pm) dinner, he came through with a winning suggestion. I recently moved to Dover and was eager to check out the local beer scene and these guys are far and away my favorite! Better than Smutty, better than Red Hook, better than everyone! I've been to a lot of breweries over the years and drank a lot of beer. These guys might possibly have made the best beer I've ever had. Granted, I'm a huge IPA nut and they have a lot of IPA's on tap (at the time of writing), but they make the best IPA's I've ever had. I spent some time in North Cal and drank my fair share of Pliny (Older and Younger) and their Anomalous is better. Seriously, drink it. read more

Rented out the upstairs space for my boyfriends 30th surprise party.
