I highly recommend visiting this shop if you're into Jellycats & stationery! Plus, the shopowners were so nice! I've never seen Bartholomew the Bear in a Sea Farer outfit & to just find him out here at the Paper Crane store was enough for me to buy him! I recommended my best friend to stop by this shop whenever she's in Half Moon Bay. Thank you for running this store! Can't wait to come back to HMB again

They thoughtfully arrange the jewelry among other clothing and home goods, kitchen stuff ... think Anthro or Urban but on a smaller scale and you have your store in this place. It took all I had to not buy anything, though if anyone did justice to meticulous window shopping of that stunning gold and emeralds, I did the honors lol :-) The prices for those items were not cheap but then again, I didn't expect them to be. They have some higher end kitchen things, e.g. copper pepper grinders and linens as well.

There is a main section and also a small walkway that connects to the building next door with more books. It's set up with comfortable sofas and chairs for people that want to hand out and read. They have a large children's selection of books and toys, my kids wanted some of the lego sets they had. In this section I ended up spending the most amount of time in the "Where's Waldo" section. There were so many new books that I didn't know existed and our old childhood books we passed to our kids are some of their favorites. Some other notable areas are a "rare books" section in the display case with handwritten tidbits. There is also a discounted "used books" section. My wife ended up with two books which she loved.

I would have been sorely disappointed if I needed polished stone beads, shells, wood, or clay beads. Also, the "price trays" to collect beads are stupid. The owner had been very nice and friendly to me in the past, but I guess today she was having a bad day. I walked in and said hello and it seemed like I had pissed her off already. Then I saw that that was how she was treating everyone that walked in. It was relatively busy, she could have made a lot of sales if she had tried at all. I went with a very sensible gardening mission: buy lavender plants to attract pollinators for my Meyer lemon and Bearss lime trees. Very practical. Very responsible. Nothing could possibly go wrong. Then I opened the door. The scent of fresh lavender was incredible. Not the artificial fragrance from candles or room sprays, but the real thing. The entire greenhouse smelled like a spa, and my quick errand immediately became a leisurely wander. The shop is beautiful, with healthy plants, gorgeous pottery, garden décor, lavender bath and body products, gifts, and more lavender varieties than I knew existed. I found myself comparing Provence, Phenomenal, Hidcote, French, Spanish, BeeZee Pink, and Burgundy like I was preparing for a horticulture exam. I eventually came home with two gorgeous plants, Provence and Phenomenal. Were they more expensive than the ones I could have picked up at Home Depot? Absolutely. Were they also fuller, healthier, and some of the most beautiful lavender plants I had seen? Also absolutely. The staff stayed quietly in the background, which worked perfectly for me because I didn't need help and could take my time looking around without feeling hovered over. I left with two beautiful lavender plants, a very happy new gardener's heart, and one clear expectation: The bees had better show up now.

Spanish town is one of our favorite restaurants in the old downtown. If you think the town is quirky, wait in till you see this little gem. It just feels comfortable being inside. The covered patio in the back is where our favorite table is. I always order the goat. It is spicy and slow simmered and fabulous. All of the other dishes are equally made authentically, and like your momma made it. The service is friendly, professional and fast. They have a off street parking in the back. The margaritas are the best in town.

They carry Evangeline's throws, table linens, and velvet pillows from Portland, Maine, Boissier candy from Paris (they've sold out of quite a few varieties) - e.g., mints, chocolate, marshmallows, hard candies, books, candles, lotions, perfume, trays, rugs, pillows, soaps, baskets, jewelry, bags, drinking glasses, etc. It has a definite feminine feel and also feels like a place to splurge on a little something special. A sumptuous velvet pillow is over $200. A small wood tray is $40. A box of Parisian hard candies is $16.50 but the box is very nice. Service was friendly. They even have free samples of the Parisian candy.
