I came in for beads, specifically letter beads, but there were a few letters that were out of stock and no packs of letter beads. A lot of the jewelry findings seem to be quite old, tarnished, and low on stock. There are no mid priced strands of beads. Only semiprecious gems under glass or very junky glass beads. All beads and craft supplies are crazy overpriced. I only came here because I needed to make a last minute gift. Thankfully I just needed the letter beads and a few findings. I would have been sorely disappointed if I needed polished stone beads, shells, wood, or clay beads. Also, the "price trays" to collect beads are stupid. The owner had been very nice and friendly to me in the past, but I guess today she was having a bad day. I walked in and said hello and it seemed like I had pissed her off already. Then I saw that that was how she was treating everyone that walked in. It was relatively busy, she could have made a lot of sales if she had tried at all. I'll probably have to come back in the future, but I won't be looking forward to it,

Just a few minutes from the coast, it's the kind of place that makes you slow down the moment you walk in. I went with a very sensible gardening mission: buy lavender plants to attract pollinators for my Meyer lemon and Bearss lime trees. Very practical. Very responsible. Nothing could possibly go wrong. Then I opened the door. The scent of fresh lavender was incredible. Not the artificial fragrance from candles or room sprays, but the real thing. The entire greenhouse smelled like a spa, and my quick errand immediately became a leisurely wander. The shop is beautiful, with healthy plants, gorgeous pottery, garden décor, lavender bath and body products, gifts, and more lavender varieties than I knew existed. I found myself comparing Provence, Phenomenal, Hidcote, French, Spanish, BeeZee Pink, and Burgundy like I was preparing for a horticulture exam. I eventually came home with two gorgeous plants, Provence and Phenomenal. Were they more expensive than the ones I could have picked up at Home Depot? Absolutely. Were they also fuller, healthier, and some of the most beautiful lavender plants I had seen? Also absolutely. The staff stayed quietly in the background, which worked perfectly for me because I didn't need help and could take my time looking around without feeling hovered over. I left with two beautiful lavender plants, a very happy new gardener's heart, and one clear expectation: The bees had better show up now.

I am partial to their garden decor, especially the adorable animal sculptures. I'm a shopper who loves a deal, so I was pleasantly surprised to see some lavender plants on sale outside of the store! No, I didn't purchase any because I have at least 8 lavender plants of my own at home, but someone will surely take advantage of the deal! I will definitely return when I'm back in Half Moon Bay!

My wife and I had bought some veryy beautiful goat hide, high craftsmanship chairs from this place. After 2 months ofhaving them, one of them broke while moving it from one place in the house to another, because we enjoy the chairs look and feel we committed to buying another, even though we would need to travel 2.5 hours to pick it up. We love Half Mokn Bay, so we were going to make a weekend of it. Long story short, we ordered, paid and let the store know we will come down this past weekend to pick it up. All was going well, until we showed up to pick up the chair we already paid for.... The staff was clueless to the purchase, after 3 staff got involved nor knowing anything about the chair or purchase, they called the owner who deflected to the customer (my wife) having not communicated with the owner. We ended up canceling the order due to the horrible approach the owner showcased. Blaming the customer, my wife, and making it as though she was in the wrong, we will find the artist elsewhere, I am sure of it, and we will surely skip Abode next time we are in town. Sad but true. I much prefer positive reviews, but also look out for my fellow consumers of good, quality customer service and kindness. So unfortunate, it is such a cute store! Proven otherwise! H
