One of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with any company. They handled the US-side of my international move. The communication was terrible. I followed up on every email and kept in touch, they rarely respond and when they do it is painfully obvious that they have no idea what's going on with my move and do not care to check on the status of my shipment before replying with "not our fault" or something along those lines. My shipment arrived in New York on March 30, and it still took more than 60 days to get delivered to Vermont -- longer than it took to ship from Thailand to New York. Communication was terrible, timelines were unclear, and I had to chase updates myself. Scheduling was poor, delivery plan was non-existent, last-minute delays for a shuttle despite telling them 10+ times that a 55' truck could not access my property. When I called to tell Harry who was "coordinating" my shipment about the shuttle issue and overcharging he asked if my shipment arrived - so he had no idea what was happening - then fed me a bunch of B.S. about how they've got many shipments at once - his boss Samir also chimed in to tell me that they are doing everything right and that my dissatisfaction is irrelevant Only sent one guy to deliver so I had to complete the bingo sheet and help him move my stuff. Really, shockingly bad experience. Absolutely poor all around - communication, planning, scheduling, accountability, and customer service. Stay away. read more

They started out to be very responsive, but now, with 5 days left to my move, they are not replying to my emails. I also recently found out that they do not use wall coverings, which is something that concerns me as this is very standard equipment to use to protect common areas in apartment buildings and elevators, especially when there is no service entrance. I have left a similar review with the Better Business Bureau. Earth Relocation was hired as the US partner in my international move. Many questions were asked about their capability and capacity. They gave assurances that they could meet my needs. However, every item that they packed was irreparably damaged. The final packing of many items once they arrived were atrocious. Literally 1 layer of saran wrap on fragile items. I am incredibly dismayed as these items are impossible to replace. Additionally, their numbering system was incomplete and inaccurate. Some items had question marks with numbers and some with multiple stickers which has led to missing boxes. All attempts to call them have been sent to voicemail and ignored. Their partners abroad are equally problematic. I have been trying to get a result for the last 160 days from any party involved. The quality of service, avoidance of contract terms, and their nominated insurers are incredibly poor. Furthermore, due to the incredible length of time this has been ongoing, I am unable to work with my credit card company to recoup anything. read more

Earth Relocation was the US delivery agent for a shipment we had sent from India. They delivered our goods (heirloom furniture) with little care - 3 items arrived severely damaged & 1 was missing entirely. After initially promising to do what was needed to right the situation, they stopped responding to our emails entirely. Their team showed us the art of managing a difficult situation by ignoring the customer entirely and hoping that they go away. Now, I get it. Life sometimes happens to all of us inspite of the best laid plans. But what matters is how you respond in these situations. As I mentioned previously, Earth Relocation responded by ignoring us and the tone is clearly set at the top. The owner, who was copied on all communications did not once think it was worth his time to respond or chime in. When I further reached out to the Director of West Coast Operations, he graciously told me not to waste my time - a kind sentiment given that it was not his goods that were missing and/or damaged beyond repair. He also had the grace to tell me that asking for compensation of the value of the missing item (we asked them to reimburse us for that and were willing to see past the damages), was asking for too much. A real class act. My hope is that karma will truly see that these fine gentlemen are treated the way that they choose to treat other people. No matter the less-than-ideal experience, I have not ever felt that a business merited a zero-star review on Yelp. Do not use Earth Relocation. They were the US delivery agent for our move from the U.K. to the U.S. From the start, they were non-responsive to our emails and tried to get us to cover additional costs that seemed to have been incurred due to their poor planning. When we pushed back on the costs, they threatened to keep our goods longer, so that we would accrue further costs. Before the delivery day, we emailed the management team (Barry, Andy, and Samir) twice to confirm that their team would unpack and reassemble our belongings when our goods were finally delivered. When the team showed up, they claimed that they hadn't been told they had to do either. When we showed them the contract and the emails, they assented -- albeit with a lot of grumbling -- but they left the job half undone, with most of our furniture unassembled or assembled incorrectly. (They tried to get us to sign off on the paperwork, but three items were missing, multiple items were damaged, they scratched up our floors, and so we refused.) They claimed they'd come back in two days to finish the job, but then emailed us to say they didn't have a team free that day. They did finally supply a team that same day, several hours after I posted this review. Additionally, they promised to refund the extra costs they had passed onto us, if they did not send us within one week the documentation showing that these costs were incurred due to circumstances beyond their control, e.g. port congestion. It is past the one-week point; they still have not sent us the documentation; and in response to the emails I have sent them asking them to refund our money, they have only responded by asking me to remove the "discrepancies" from this review. No one should have to fight this hard to get the services they paid for. We've moved three times in the last six years and not once have we encountered any company as unprofessional and dishonest as Earth Relocation. Under no circumstances should anyone use them. Try filtering this review out. These guys came to my apartment in Astoria to ship 27 boxes to Hong Kong on July 2nd and said it would take 8-10 weeks. We called to check the status of the shipment with Matt who has been saying for about 4 weeks now that he wouldn't be able to give us a date our goods would arrive until 8/22-this was after he said a 'Courtney' whom I've never met would be able to tell me. After just getting off the phone with him for the fifth time and having to reintroduce myself and my circumstances finally said 'I'll call you.' I've told him already that I moved to Hong Kong and email would be the only way to reach me. When I pressed him on it he said that it wasn't him but Samir who would know what the deal is. Well, my items finally arrived near the end of October. It apparently was sitting on a dock in Jersey for a month for no other reason than that these idiots just had no idea what to do with a box. It took a little bit more than I expected but I was not over ambitious about it as Ireland is not a busy place after all. Pros: 1. Alok, the agent I was approached by, was very responsive throughout my move. Generally from various reviews, I was skeptical about response I am going to get after I pay, but he was never like that! He always responded to any queries about any update I might ask. 2. The quote was not the cheapest but very reasonable. 3. My kitchen glass items, boxes or my TV came without a scratch. 4. Packing was done really well. 5. I planned to go for 100 cft but it went upto 172 cft once it was palatized, however I was not robbed for it. 6. Make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. I contracted a shipping company(Freight International) to ship my household goods and vehicle from Abu Dhabi (door to door) to my home. Their sister company (Earth Relocation) in New Jersey has my shipment in their warehouse. And is supposed to deliver my goods/vehicle. They have hit me with a US Customs fee and various charges but failed to show a customs invoice/receipt. I have attempted to pay twice with bank transfers but my bank could not locate Earth Relocation's Bank of America account using the account info they provided, even though I verified swift code and account with them. my bank also sent test funds transfer to validate their account, and again it failed. Earth Relocation agent has stopped answering my calls. I strongly believe they are attempting to steal my property and vehicle and scam me out of money. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. read more

This was a great move for us, overall. Crystal was friendly and very helpful over the phone and communicated often - sometimes just to touch base and reassure us that everything was okay. From the moment our shipment from Dakar, Senegal reached the dock in New Jersey until it was delivered to our home in Vermont, everything went extremely smoothly. Crystal informed us that our container had cleared customs. The container driver and locally-contracted movers were professional, efficient and friendly. Our items arrived intact and were swiftly and courteously/carefully placed where we requested and then were fully unwrapped and the boxes were removed from the house. I gave 5 stars, and I'm okay with that, but I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could, because of one issue: our time line was pretty tight, because we had to be finished the move-in and then prepare the house for renters within a week of the arrival of the shipment. For a fairly long period of time, maybe two weeks, it was unclear whether our container had made it onto the ship. We wrote to Earth Relocations several times to ask for confirmation, but we did not hear back. I was finally able to get Crystal on the phone (it was their busy season, so it was hard) and she was able to ascertain quite quickly that our container was on the ship. This was great, but we would have liked to hear back from someone at Earth Relocations (Sajeev or Samir) via email much earlier in order to avoid the stress we went through due to not knowing for sure that our stuff would make it to us on time. Earth Relocation is really great and I'll absolutely use them again. I've moved with them twice: once for an international move and once for a local move. Samir is really great at explaining everything and helping prep. He's responsive and ind and easy to work with. Both times the moving teams were kind, respectful, careful, quick and efficient. For the local move there was a delay in arrival but - given the time and route - I am fairly certain it was truly due to rush hour traffic. I am from California, so it's often difficult for me to converse in Mandarin, but there was no language barrier between me and Raymond (as he is also from California). I used Earth Relocation on behalf of my grandmother, who was moving from Foresthill, CA to Kavala, Greece. Both locations were rather remote, which complicated matters. Furthermore, my grandmother had a restricted budget, which was a further limitation. Kapil was patient and creative, providing options that would allow us to accomplish the move. In particular, we packed our own household goods and brought them to their warehouse, which reduced the overall move by 20%, bringing it within budget. Their receiving location near San Francisco was also very helpful. Some of the items had not been packed well by us, and they helped re-pack on the spot. Their partner in Greece, Attica Movers, were also very patient and helpful, guiding us through the requirements for the importation of the shipment, as well as dealing with an address change in the final destination. All the boxes arrived without any damage. As with every move there were extra charges. However, all of the charges were explained well in advance and were clearly stated in the contract. I had agreed on a particular charge (unloading the shipment beyond the second floor) prior to delivery. After my grandmother changed her address to the second floor, unbeknownst to me, Attica Movers contacted me and notified me that the charge would not be levied. Very pleasant surprise! All in all, it was a very good experience, and I would not hesitate in contracting Earth Relocation for other international moves again. read more

Our experience with this company was probably the worst anyone can imagine. We moved from Burbank to Pune in March 2018 and met their agent in January 2018. He saw our household stuff and gave us a competitive estimate for our '2 bedroom household stuff with partial packing and door to door delivery within 10-12 weeks via JNPT port'. We ended up going with this company as it was the only company at that point which was ready to pick our stuff up in 2 weeks as we had to take care of rest of the things related to moving. We definitely missed on the due diligence of checking their reviews online and trusted these guys. We ended up paying the following charges: 1. Feb 2, 2018: USD5000 for 400 cubic ft partial packing. As per our estimate we should have been charged for 300 cubic feet at $3000. Even their quote was mysteriously at the highest rate at 'our' shipment size of 400 cu ft. The rate was lower at 300, and also at 500. We had to pay as they sent us packers in a day and the stuff was palletized quickly. The packers were professionals and very efficient. So far we were okay as we could focus on other moving related items. 2. Mid March and April 2018: we moved to India and were busy with our move. 3. May 2018: By this time we were expecting our stuff to arrive, since 12 weeks had already passed. After following up, we were told that there was a random customs inspection at the Long Beach port and our share of the charges was approx $1500. And at this point we were also told that shipment will arrive at Chennai port instead of JNPT port as there is lot of congestion at JNPT port. We believe that it was just to gain a customer that we were told earlier that our shipment will come at JNPT. 3. June 2018: Almost 5 months later, the shipment finally left from the Long Beach port! 4. July 2018: Our shipment arrives in Chennai and this is where the worst part begins. We needed to send one passport to Chennai port for customs clearance. But we had planned a trip (back) to US for work at around the same time (10-12 weeks right?). Earth relocation's India counterpart agent was very difficult to deal with. He wasn't giving us a clarity about how the customs clearance process would happen. He vaguely mentioned some items (particularly electronics) from the shipment and started telling us how our custom duties would be sky high due to those items. We confirmed from various sources that there are a lot of duty waivers for Indian citizens returning back to India. But he wouldn't budge. We spoke with the US agent to get help, but I guess once they hand off the shipment to India, they are helpless. We had a drone in our shipment (which they knew about from day 1, and it was banned from being imported in India). They called out the drone a day before our trip back to US and put us in a difficult spot. Finally we ended up paying INR 1,20,000 for the "electronics" (This amount was almost as much as the total valuation of our goods as mentioned on the customs clearance stamp on the passport). The whole process of dealing with the India agent was a painful experience for me and my husband. We literally started questioning ourselves whether this move was a good decision or not. Nobody should be able to go through such a situation. We paid that money and got passport back a day before flying as we did not want to deal with this person ever again. We thought that everything is done and we would get our stuff when we come back to India in August after 3 weeks. 5. August 2018: After coming back they asked us for $300 for storing our stuff for 3 weeks (almost same as what customs would charge as demurrage). We paid that money since dealing with this team was draining our energy. Still we did not receive the shipment as planned as they could not find a truck driver, saying nobody is willing to drive to Pune as EX-CM of Tamilnadu had passed away. We had lost our hope and finally after some more painful calls and after paying the moving men we got our shipment on Aug 14th 2018. It took "6 months and 12 days"  and approx $8500 to get our shipment delivered. The only reason I am writing this review is I do not want any other family to suffer like we did, as we know how difficult moving your decade(s) worth of stuff is. Money earned by such dishonest ways is not going to take this company anywhere in the long run and I request these people to do their business the right way. We would have paid the money without any hesitation if they would have been honest and upfront about all these charges from the beginning. read more

I used earth relocation for door to door movement from NY to Toronto. The first phase of movement. Picking the consignment. They were punctual. The truck and loading staff came from NJ and were pretty much on time. Their packing style was very good. After seeing their packing I was confident that things will reach in good condition. Loading and packing staff were fast and very good at their job. Samir and Alok gave me their personal cell number so that I can be in touch with them. Samir being on vacation assisted me on phone many times. From picking to delivery took exactly 4 weeks. They picked my stuff on Thursday 22nd August. I gave my new address to them exactly a week later, on Thursday 29th August. My consignment reached Toronto Friday 6th September. I got the custom clearance done on next day that is on Saturday 7th September. After that the delivery was made to me on Thursday 19th September. I think there was bit delay in last phase( 4-5 days). I was expecting it to be delivered by September 14th or 15th. ( Only for this, gave 4stars. Else would have given 5) The team which did the delivery was courteous, fast and well organized. 100 % of my stuff came in perfect condition. Worst moving experience ever I had and they are not professionals. They are here to gulp money from you and take every chance to do that. They quoted me a very high price and finally matched the price with a quote from one of their competitors. They claim to provide free quote, blah blah just to blind you from high prices and hidden charges. They add additional packing charges after shipping that they packed those items. In fact for me they charged for items that they haven't packed. All those items were original manufacture packaging. They held my consignment as hostage to pay these additional extra charges. BE AWARE: RED ALERT: DON'T EVEN THINK For now, just know that my container was loaded on to the ship from Los Angeles to India only 5 days ago on August 19th. It is on its way. However, the situation is such that, I called my wife who is waiting for the container and told her "Honey we fell for a con so you will not get that container". She said, "that's OK, Thank God it has only our household items of monetary value, no memorabilia, not my child's pictures". I am writing this from the hospital bed with a head injury that happened on July 11th and dealing with him. I work and have advised Consumer Protection Agencies, EPA, FDA and currently advising on Security law and regulation for Cryptocurrency (see the pics) For now this much: Kapil Lahoti came to our home with his Dad to check the inventory. It took a few minutes just to browse the furnitures but we spent more than an hour talking about my new work "The Fair Market Project" to fight for justice and fairness. By the end, I felt like it was a family affair and he is the proverbial "brother from the other mother". For 2 days I and my wife would not stop talking about what a great guy he. In my mind, I couldn't wait to write a 5-star great review after the shipment completion and help boost his business amongst my vast network both personal and business across the globe. You ask, why even think of helping his business - helping entrepreneurs is in my DNA and what I have been doing since 1999. We used Earth Relocation for our move from the US to Europe. We had two shipments, one that left in mid-May 2017 that arrived mid-August 2017, and another shipped mid-July 2017 that arrived in mid-October 2017. The crews that picked up our boxes (we packed it ourselves) were professional, and polite. When an item was forgotten, I was able to get it to them and it made it into the shipment without any delay. While three months seems long, we were informed several times a week of the location of our items, and given the status and estimate of arrival. For our friends who have used other companies for similar moves, this time period of 10-12 weeks is quite normal. Any time we had a question, we were directed to the person who could handle the problem without any delay, and any issues were resolved within 24 hours OR LESS. When a piece of paper could not be found, I resent the email and the problem was solved instantly with an apology. The overseas contractor ALSO had great personnel who brought our stuff, and reconciled everything as we unpacked, just as when we packed. Patient and professional. On the subject of cost, we took the time to ensure we had an accurate measurement of the boxes involved, and the volume of our household goods. As a result, their estimate was within 5-10% of the actual cost, and came in far below the other 3 higher bidders. Yes, in this case, the lowest bidder was quite worthy of the price. Then, they refused to pay the movers for unpacking although we paid paid for it in our original contract from Saudi Arabia. We had to unpack ourselves, which voided the insurance. Movers didn't bring all of our stuff. It took three weeks to get it, but in fairness we did move in two weeks before Christmas, and where out of town the following week after our move. Unfortunately, the remaining stuff had been pillidged by the time we received it but the company reimbursed us for our missing goods and let us know they where no longer going to be working with the third party movers. Outline: Earth Relocation does get your goods shipped, no question, but it's a very bad experience with them. They constantly try to charge more, they do not communicate with you, they don't care a shit about you and your goods, all they care is that you pay, using your goods as lever to make you pay what they want. So if you decide to go with them, count in some extra money (+20-30%) and have good nerves., you will definitely need it! And most important: Do not accept any agreement by phone, always ask for everything to be written down. They avoid written stuff, just to leave no traces and charge more later. This is the full story: We moved from the US to Germany. Our plan was to pack ourselves and ship one container, household goods and one car. When it came to the decision which company to take I was reading through a lot of reviews. Most bad reviews for Earth were based on shipping single goods and boxes, not a full container, which seemed to be fine with Earth. They did a good offer, so we went with them. The first surprise came after we paid the deposit, so just in the moment of no return: They told us that the shipping costs are going to be more expensive, due to CoVid, so we had to pay another 500$. Of course I tried to avoid this payment, but they have this really mean way to put a gun on your chest, telling you that they won't ship your goods if you don't pay. So we did, hoping, that everything else was going good. But it didn't. We hired them to load our goods into the container, just to be on the safe side. The loading was not really professional, the item list that they created was full of typos, such as flowers instead flour etc., which makes a big difference when it comes to customs. Although I sent them my Excel-List they created their own, erroneous list, which imho caused problems later. The Bulkhead was built lazy, they forgot the tie-downs for my car, so we were lucky that I kept some of mine, just for the case. After loading they wanted us to pay more for the Bulkhead and extra time to load the car, although everything was included in their quote. In this case I did not pay and they finally accepted, because I could prove with a written quote. Later, our container was picked by US customs for intensive exam, this means: all goods out, all goods back in. All Earth did was sending a short email-note, stating that our container was picked, no more information, nothing, even after we requested detailed information. We had to phone our way through to reach the company doing it, giving us more information about the where's and how's. During this exam, our car was treated very bad, leaving a lot of cracks and scratches all over the car. So I had to deal with all the damages here in Germany. Earth told us that this exam was 100% random, but I suspect it was due to their bad item list that made the US customs pick our container, however, I can't prove. The costs for the intensive exam were another 3000$ for us, hell what fun! And guess what: Pay or don't get your goods! In Germany they hired the same style forwarder (ACTIVE moving and shipping GmbH) that wanted us to pay 700 EUR extra in advance for things that might happen! I had to hire a lawyer to fight for my rights. And they all constantly use your goods as lever to make you pay. My Conclusion: EARTH RELOCATION: Never again! Next time I would definitely pay more and get a higher quality shipment. read more

Me and my family moved from Brazil to Los Angeles last year and I needed to write this review because we are so happy with how it went. Right from the beginning, Earth Relocation & their Partners in Brazil made sure each every detail of our move was taken care of. It all started with their free in-home estimate, then the quoting process & then the way Samir @ Earth explained to me how it was all going to work, I was confident that this was the company I was going to go with. Best part is, even before our container arrived in Los Angeles, I was made fully aware of the overall timeline and estimate of delivery at our house which was neat. To top it all, the moving crew headed by Carlos was very courteous, they listened to our requirements and made sure they were taken care of. Worst moving experience ever! I have had 3 moves between US and Canada in the last 3 years and this was hands down the worst moving experience we encountered. The first 2 moves were a hassle like all moves usually are but I was given a service I was told I will be given for the price that was quoted. With Earth Relocation however, the price I was quoted at first was ~$1800, the price I paid was ~$4800. The amount I paid was more than the total sum of my previous 2 moves and the number of items I moved was the same (if not less) than what I moved the previous 2 times. I had to give up and pay the money because my good were held hostage with them. All attempts at trying to negotiate a lower cost were refused. Even when I offered to let go some of my stuff to reduce my cost they said that would end up costing me more if I try to dispose stuff that they were holding from me. Every step of the moving process was a nightmare. There was no explanation or no transparency on what services would be included in their initial quote. I know, part of is my fault too. I should have asked the questions. But because my previous 2 experiences were all handled so well by the movers and they were guiding me through the process I foolishly assumed Earth will do the same too. Here are some details on what additional cost I ended up paying: 1) They told me that packing service was included in my initial quote. Turns out later that as per their movers, there was a lot of packing material used so there was extra packing cost added. 2) The movers who came to pack my stuff, started packing all my furniture in boxes. I asked them to just put furniture blankets over them, to which they told me that this is a service they provide. Not even one mentioning to me that this is costing me money. 3) They do not come to review your furniture while quoting. They expect you to give them an accurate assessment on how many boxes I would need. During the quoting process the furniture I stated was the furniture I moved. In terms of the boxes I may have underestimated a few boxes. But this is where I expect them to come and review my stuff and tell me how much they would expect my stuff to be rather than expecting me to know. They are moving "experts" after all. When all was said and done, I was slapped with a higher quote stating that I had lot more stuff than quoted. 4) Earth uses a lot of other vendors to do most of their work so they dont have any control on what is going on with different phases of the move. 5) Even paying the money to them was a hassle. When I was booking earth relocation, they conveniently accepted credit card without any surcharges. But when the time to make the payment came, they again come back and say that there is a surcharge for credit card payment. Wire transfer ended up charging me extra money. 6) In my previous moves, the company that moved my stuff, accepted payment when they got the stuff to my door. They processed the payment and then moved the goods in. With earth it is like a hostage situation. They dont release your stuff till you pay them. I seriously question this. How do I trust that they would bring over my stuff after they take my money. I think it is only fair they come to my door step with the goods and take the money from me before they unload. 7) Finally, the custom clearance step also was made difficult. With my previous movers, the moving company came with me to the custom office (which you have to go anyways). They guided me there and they took all paper work they needed from me there. With earth, I had to go to their office first, pick up documents and then go to the custom office. Extra step that I had not done before. In summary, I dont think this company has what it takes to move goods. Avoid this if you can. So much negotiation with them ended up wasting my time. I have moved internationally many times before & this time I chose Earth Relocation to move me from India to USA. The move was certainly not perfect as I was rudely shocked to receive an invoice for almost $500 related to Port charges after the move. But what I appreciate is the fact that this company pays attention to its customers. I gave this company a call promptly got a call back from someone from Earth shortly after I posted my original review.  The person was polite & wanted to discuss all the issues I had during my move and reassure me that this is not the norm for their company.  I was also impressed that they care so much about the reputation of their company and try to make the rare bad experience a little better by offering to refund me some amount from my final invoice which was very nice. I also think that a company that takes pride in their reputation and customer service as much as this one does is rare and I value that attitude!  I had originally given this company 2 stars but bumped it to 4 given their attitude about customer service and the fact that they did refund me for part of my move.   Pricewise I find this company to be competitive may not be the cheapest but overall I was happy with customer service. read more

Don't ever use this company....they will double your bill and they don't care if you are unhappy. They are not professional and they have no ethics. They should be put out of business as they are con artists and liars. We were quoted $4700 to move our things from New Jersey to Winnipeg, Canada. They said it would take one to two weeks. Two weeks after our furniture was in transit, they emailed to say that our stuff was crossing the border, not telling us what border they were crossing. They then ignored our emails and phone calls for the next few days and finally informed us that we would get our stuff the following Monday. They left out the part about our stuff having to then be delayed by the local mover, which took another 4 days. It took three weeks to get our things, the communication was awful. They ignored our phone calls and emails for days. Then, after our stuff was in transit, they told us the total bill would be $10,900, more than double the original quote. They had our stuff, what could we do? We complained, and complained and complained. They are ignoring us now and don't care that they basically committed fraud. For what they charged us, we could have left all our furniture and bought all new. We would have never agreed to the final price. They low balled the quote and then held our stuff hostage until we paid. read more
