Not bad but... The place is located in a big office building in midtown Manhattan. Once you enter the building you have to write down your name, where you're going and the arrival time with the not too pleasant concierge, then when you arrive to the actual spa you have to wait for your masseuse in the corridor because they won't open the door until it's your appointment's time.The place is not cozy or elegant but it's extremely clean and the staff is very attentive, always showing the typical oriental hospitality and here is where the problems begins. The language barrier don't allow them to clearly understand if you have any sensitive areas (even though the lady asked me that before starting the massage),I mentioned that I strained my hip and wanted to concentrate more in that area. Her massage certainly improved my pain but I got the standard massage not taking into consideration my request as she didn't put more emphasis in that area and the techniques and deepness used felt a bit amateur. After booking one of their most expensive massages ($140 for 50 minutes) with a "Master" as they describe it on their website I'm very sorry to say that it was not worse or better than the $45 massage you get in any of those massage parlors you find in Manhattan. read more

Had a couples massage for 50min and selected the junior option. Even with junior I can feel a huge difference. I wouldn't want senior or master to hurt anymore. Level 7 was strong for me. They worked on all places I specified and found knots and they worked it well. My only comment or complaint is I would like a pillow when they switch to working on my front. But I guess they didn't because they had to work my neck area. They placed heat pads on my back which felt nice. Bed was wake and clean. Do bring tips and in cash form. They make it very clear to bring it. I recommend showering before you get here too. Everyone was friendly! I would come back if I'm ever in the area. It's very affordable. My criteria for good massage places are: (1) how much does the masseuse actually massage versus just rub my body/give me rug burn; (2) how much do they actually focus on parts I tell them to and mention at the beginning; (3) how much do they listed to my body I.e., by focusing on knots they can feel rippling or parts that are especially tight; (4) how much pressure are they able to do with their hands / elbows. Across the board on all of those factors, this place was a three. It's basically kind of like a cheaper Chinese massage place where it's $36 for an hour back massage but here you fill out forms and it's a slightly nicer space. It was $300 for a 75 minute couples massage. I specifically chose to get "senior" massage therapists so it would be worth it. I also mentioned at the beginning when filling out my form that I'd like the focus to be on my upper back and pressure to be an eight level (with ten being "intolerable"). I wanted a really nice deep / hard massage with a ton of pressure as I haven't had a massage in awhile and was really looking forward to finally getting my back worked out. At some points my masseuse had moments of brilliance like when she found that sweet spot right behind the shoulder blade and dug in her elbow so hard, I almost drooled. But instead of focusing on my problem areas, she just continued onto the next spot. Really wanted to like this place but probably wouldn't come back here - Passion Body Works on 34th and 3rd has way more consistent massages where they actually listen to you/focus where you want and is way way cheaper. read more

This is a truly phenomenal massage. It is fast paced, deep and targeted. I felt better after 50 minutes than I do after my usual 90 minute elsewhere. The master level massage gave me a top rate foot massage and the owner gave my back and my husband's back and hip targeted release. He said, "my back feels insanely better." I came with my husband for a couples massage with the owner and a master masseuse. The owner mostly worked on me, but she did switch to my husband near the end. She created a style that starts light with almost a shaking of the body. Then she goes a little deeper with but still light with lotion. Then she uses a sheet over you to go deep. I wanted the focus on my neck and shoulders with some leg and foot. She found deep, sensitive tissues in my neck and shoulder, arm pit and collar bone that no massage therapist has found before. I do a good weekly 90 minute massage for surgery complications, injury and tension. I think I could see her for four 80 minute sessions a year and need no more. First massage in almost a year due to Covid and Ease NY was the perfect place to help me ease back into it ;) no pun intended. They temporarily moved in to another location next door for better ventilation and air filtering system and I felt totally safe & comfortable during my entire time there. I thought wearing a mask during the massage would be uncomfortable, but it really didn't bother me at all. Ease NY was just as good as how I remembered it to be from a few years ago. Wonderful staff, relaxing environment and just an incredible, incredible massage service. Both times I did the 100 minute massage with a Junior therapist and it was 100 minutes in euphoria. Mari did an incredible job working on all the knots on my back & shoulders (even those that I didn't even know existed!) and I couldn't be happier. After the massage session, I felt like I was walking on clouds. In my opinion, the extra $15-20 for the aroma oils is SO worth it because it really boosts the entire experience to an A++. This is my first time coming to Ease NY. The experience is great. Compared to other massage places I have been to, Ease NY offered professional massage where the junior therapist offered the aromatherapy and the senior therapist offered the shiatsu therapy. Before I come here, i have very stiff shoulder and painful lower back due to stresses and the lack of massage therapy amid this Covid19 pandemic. After I received the massage, all my back muscle loosens up a lot. As they reopen now, the staff is very diligent in sanitizing the place and rooms after each use and having all staff wearing face masks. The massage was incredible but felt rushed - you definitely need more than 50 mins to relax and have the healing powers of a great massage to take effect. My junior massage therapist was wonderful. However the three stars is related to the loud garbage truck outside. In the future, I would avoid the rooms facing the windows. Ease NY owners solution was to turn up the sounds of the waves in the room which effect made me feel like I was in a tsunami ... These Japanese ladies have magic hands. I normally go for the 50 minute junior therapist relaxation massage. I upgraded to the senior therapist on my last visit and it did not disappoint. She rocked and rolled a crazy amount of tension out of my body. I'm not sure how she positioned herself but WOW strong hands. A few pointers others have mentioned: - cash tips only. There is a cash machine there - appointments are often available at the last minute on weekdays if you are Ok with a 7pm time slot - they give you warm water to drink after - like with any therapist ensure you communicate uncomfortable/ ticklish spots. I have found these therapists to be pinpoint accurate in targeting/ avoiding spots I point out. Highly recommended. Worth every penny. read more

They were so efficient and courteous from booking my appointment promptly, making sure I understood the precautions they were taking and welcoming me to the spa. If first impressions matter, the intake form you fill out after they greet you sets the tone- this place is official. And get this - they actually read the form, too. My masseuse, Benny this particular night , used it to greet me by name and escort me to our private room. I chose the easeMassage as opposed to the Relax massage, as I like firmer pressure and work with the fingers as well. I also chose the aroma oil for relaxation. I came in 41 minutes before closing (10pm - they have great hours, too), so I went with the 25 minute massage, which came up to $47. That was still sufficient time for me to come out relaxed. They know what they're doing here. Benny focused on lengthening and stretching for me. And their relaxation techniques work. I was lithe and ready to sleep when we were done. I've had back problems for years, and always saw massages as a quick fix for temporary relief, but I feel confident I'll find significant improvement in posture and ease in muscle tension with future visits. She also gave me tips to help with my posture that I will take with me long after the massage session (I'm usually hunched over my phone when I write reviews- not tonight!). When the session was over, I was offered warm water to drink with a few drops of their relaxation potion. Before I left, Benny suggested I drink tons of water the next two days, and I was thanked graciously by all staff on the way out. Completely ridiculous. How do you turn down a client, who is willing and able to pay for a service because they can't tip in cash?? great spa! Recommended by a friend. I was suffering from a pain in my shoulder area after traveling on a plane and sleeping funny. It was so painful I couldn't even concentrate at work. I was having trouble turning my head. I came here out of desperation after I told a friend I was looking for a place. I booked the 50 minute body massage with a Sr. Therapist and got Lama. I informed her of any problem areas I had. She listened carefully and then led me to the massage room. She was excellent! She worked on my whole body but spent specific time helping my problematic shoulder area. I asked for a firmness if 5-7 out of 10, medium to deep. But she ebbed between gentle and firm presses, which I was so grateful for. I'm super ticklish in my hip and leg area and other parts are sensitive like the middle of my back. If she had pressed any harder it would have hurt. She was also super careful around my problem shoulder! After the service they gave me hot water and let me sit and rest for a moment. Lama gave me some tips to help better my problem areas like making sure I move around and drink water. My left shoulder is still tender and I have trouble turning my head still but that distracting ache is no longer there! This is a long overdue review. Ease massage is hands down the best massage in NYC. I have been coming here for several years, and keep coming back no matter where in the city I move. They have helped me a lot to relieve stress and tension. It's truly a therapeutic massage from therapists that train hard and value their art. They truly care about their clients' wellbeing. The spa has always been super clean and beautiful. After Covid, they moved their spa to a different space in order to have a window in each room as part of Covid precautions. It looks like they may have also renewed the equipment too. One of my friends, who is very into spas, visited from France and told me that Ease was the best massage of her life. I wish I could give more stars!!! I'm so happy to have found this gem on Yelp. Ease NY isn't a spa that gives you a robe, a fancy waiting room, or other spa amenities. But the massage I received was the best I have ever had in the city. It truly was as described- an excellent mix of eastern and western techniques. I felt like I was receiving a mix of shiatsu and Swedish massages. My massage therapist was really in tuned with my body, and within 75 minutes of the service, she worked on EVERY KNOT I had. I also liked how I could mix the essential oils I wanted to use for my massage. The therapist was great at picking out the oils that would work great for inflammation and muscle soreness. The ambiance and decoration of Ease were also great. It's got the minimal zen vibe. The massage tables were comfortable as well. And I truly loved how courteous the staff was. I made an appointment at Ease on a recent trip in the last few months. I had just come back from a volunteer trip in the jungle in the Philippines and I was incredibly physically tired and also jet lagged. I desperately needed some time to relax. I'm not from NYC so I got turned around a bit and was a few minutes late to my massage. I had to really speed walk/jog to get there and make it on time. I walked in a bit sweaty, and so frazzled, and they were so kind and gracious! The massage was one of the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!!
