I wouldn't recommend this location at all. Mid leveled massage for double the price. My friend and I were around the area looking for a last minute massage. We called Thai body kinetics because they had the most reviews and they had availability for two for an hour body massage. When we got there, we were greeted by one staff and directed to a room for two people. When we were ready, two masseuse therapists came in. They didn't ask what kind of massages we wanted and just started working on us. It seemed promising at first when they were warming up, they asked how the pressure was and continued with work. By the half it, the girls just seemed lazy. The rest of the experience they were whispering to each other and giggling. Honestly, It felt like I was just being rubbed down with lotion, my therapist just did light work and added in stretches to make it seem like she did something. We paid $130 per person for an hour rub down. They had us Zelle their manager. For tip, they had the audacity to ask for MORE. Are you kidding? We tipped (which is optional) on the level of service and they wanted more. The space is small and they just stood there making things awkward asking for more tip. The stretching was deep, the pressure was as requested and my masseuse was kind enough to check in occasionally to make sure the pressure was still fine. My only complaint was that i asked about the $10 off first time clients and she told me 'she has applied it to my visit' while still quoting me $145 which is the listed price. I even over-tipped my masseuse but i did not appreciate being essentially lied to. If they dont want to honor the $10 discount they should not advertise it. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars -Update, I misread the policy and these kind people ended up giving me a nice discount on my initial service when they didnt have to! I really expected a lot of this place, given all the five star reviews. The owner and the therapist were very nice, but I was disappointed in my experience. I guess that is because I didn't want Thai massage, I guess if that's what you like, it's a better experience. Firstly, none of them seemed to understand English very well. I know they are Thai but if you are doing business in Manhattan in this area you should speak fluent English. I had to repeat myself several times after being misunderstood. When they asked me what kind of massage I wanted I said "not Thai, a cross between Swedish and Deep Tissue." Then the masseur started doing Thai massage on me, he was actually kneeling on my legs and buttocks and started doing acupressure on my spine. It hurt and I told him to stop because I have injury to my spine from a car accident. I never said I wanted Thai massage and none of it felt good. Then he stopped and started doing Swedish massage, which was better, but just acceptable and not the best I ever had. The place is tiny although clean and beautifully decorated. I had a Thai massage a long time ago and remembered it was amazing with stretchs involved. When I first arrived at the building I couldn't find it. I had to ask the doorman. There's no listing of it anywhere. But it's on the 11th floor once you get there it's a floor where it's split into little offices. So you will have to find it. It's on your left hand side to the end. It's a small room with no windows or air. So the fan blows while you're getting the massage. I'd take half a point off for this. Kind of annoying to hear it go off and on. The massage it self was amazing. Nan asks what kind of pressure you can handle and checks in on you during the massage. We chose this place bc of so many 5stars ratings. I have only been to actual spas before so I was shocked to have walk into an apartment unit. Very disappointed by the facility/apartment. I went through with it because it would be rude to walk out on an appt. The couple's room was extremely tight. Perhaps this is a startup business so I went in with an open mind. I had the prenatal massage.... Not sure if this was the reason for the entire massage feeling like just being touched with occasional deep pressure at the shoulders. The last 5 minutes of the massage was nice with the neck and head massage. My husband said his massage was "ok" but shock to find they switched out a man in the middle of the massage. He always prefer getting massages from the ladies. They said the reason is bc we were late tor our appt so they just switched staffs that work for them......without letting client know.
