    less than one star, absolutely worst rental company i've ever used. DO NOT RENT HERE. I waited 3 hours past my pick up time to get my car, so if you care about not wasting your time... don't rent here!!! additionally, the car i got was DISGUSTING. i genuinely thought maybe i was waiting 3 hours for them to clean it for me, nope. looked like the car had just gotten back from a camping trip, nothing was clean. i was having to rub the dirt off the side of the car to figure out if it was scratched or just that dirty. it was a mixture of both. the workers were less than helpful when i complained about the state of the car after waiting a long 3 hours that ended up putting I leaving the dallas area right at rush hour instead of my humble 2pm. the girls working, were not willing to help. i asked for a discount, car wash voucher for me to use at a later time, even a refund at one point. nothing, the only thing that was offered was to take the car back & get it actually cleaned which i would have appreciated if i hadn't just sat in this tiny ass building for 3 hours when it should have been getting done. i originally booked because there was a deal for an upgrade "book now for a free upgrade." i told the girl at the front desk that, she tried to tell me that didn't apply & that the third party booking shouldn't be offering that? it was a $300+ rental & i literally feel like i got robbed. i called corporate in the parking lot because i was so disheveled & they told me that only the branch manager could offer a refund. at that point i was so ready to leave, already missing a dinner i had scheduled due to how long everything took. i took the L, but this company should absolutely not exist. the shuttle to the airport is a van & the rental company is not even in the line of rental car companies near the airport, it's like 10 mins out in some random part of the city. absolutely crazy. the license plate was duct taped on

    I am convinced anyone who left a five star rating was payed to do so. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any company. The person driving the shuttle was texting on his phone and joking about how a local hates him because he sometimes goes "kinda fast" through the neighborhood. Once we got there it took us A HOUR to get a car. The first car they gave us had clear evidence the car had been in and accident and there wasn't any effort to try and clean the car before we use it. AND the tires were almost bald. We get a different car, also dirty but we don't have all day. 15 minutes into driving the car we get a warning about the oil filter. The cars are not taken care of, nobody is in any rush at this place, and someone is going to get hurt due to their neglect. Find somewhere else

    If I could give zero stars I would! Do not rent for this company I was charged over $84 for a six hour insurance!! this place is a scam!

    No, the worst experience and most insane charges. Not what booked through Expedia. Not to mention the car was disgusting and gas half full

    Well that didn't last long. From a five star review to a one star review faster than my rental car…read morestalling before getting out of the lot. Which is exactly what happened. We rented a Chevy Malibu and got the car quickly enough, but before we hit the street the car started jerking and then stalled on us with a notice on the dash saying to shift to neutral. My wife restarted the car and we got about halfway around the block before jerking abruptly to a stop as the engine shut down again. We managed to nurse it back around to the return side of the lot where we were told they would do a vehicle swap for us. They were totally casual about it like this happens all the time, but all I could think was we were about to drive across Dallas on the freeways out to Rockwall. If the car had died on the 635 we would have been screwed for sure, or even better yet seriously hurt in a crash as the car shuts down on a freeway. I called their customer service department today to discuss it with them, as I lost sleep last night thinking about how bad it could have been. They said they were going to escalate it to their management team, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. In the meantime my wife noticed the check engine light has come on in the replacement (you guessed it, Chevy Malibu) and won't go off. So I'm just feeling super uneasy driving this car around and will certainly avoid renting from Alamo in the future as they are clearly not servicing their fleet. My family's safety is worth more than saving a few bucks on a sketchy rental.

Even after making the remaining balance they still put us on a no rent ban and collections. Wow! I don't think they would have rushed to give us a refund if we overpaid. Maybe I should put them on collections and a don't rent from them list. Good luck if you want to rent from them!

I asked a question about the deposit, wasn't my ideal answer but it was answered. Just didn't understand why I couldn't use a different card to hold the deposit. Then she proceeded to ask me for my flight details and wouldn't accept the screenshot that I provided. Then asked for me to pull it up again and I grabbed my phone to which she said she wasn't going to help me and walked away. She accused me of "snatching" my phone away returning with a manager. I mentioned the upgrade and had to mention it twice. Seemed as if the was not the case as it was still in the same category and I smells badly like urine. I'm also beside myself that she then told me I could use the other card when I returned the car..... why do I even need to do that if I am returning the car? Not sure if there was an issue with others prior, but there was no reason to be short with someone who was simply not understanding what she was saying. Simply a very poor experience.

We did not have the best experience. The service was not exactly up to the normal. When a customer asks a question there should be an answer. Twice the woman was short with us and then walked away and said she wasn't going to assist. She did return and help us and even though we mentioned the upgrade we had to ask for a second time. Once we got the car it smelled horrible of urine. Return went very well. That team was super nice.
