Our home warranty company assigned East Bay Appliance Repair to us. The technician came out, inspected the appliance, identified the problem, and seemed very professional. He collected the service fee before leaving. Unfortunately, after that visit, we never heard from him again. We called him many times with no response. Even our home warranty company tried contacting him, but he never returned their calls either. I noticed several five-star reviews online, so perhaps they provide better service to customers who hire them directly rather than through home warranty companies. That was not our experience. If your home warranty assigns East Bay Appliance Repair to your claim, I recommend contacting your home warranty company immediately and requesting a different contractor. Morris came out to our home fast, actually the same day that I called my home warranty company (which I hate). He quickly addressed the problem with our clothes dryer and fixed and offered helpful advice. After he left I heard a clinking noise (it was the dryer self correcting and I just didn't give it enough time). I called Morris he arrived the next morning he wasn't upset and said if it happened again he would come back. His knowledge and professionalism was great!! I talked to a customer representative who said that I would be contacted by the technician to schedule an appointment. The technician texted me and said he could come on Wednesday. I asked the technician to specify which Wednesday, which date. The technician never answered back. I texted him/her saying that Wednesday September 24 would work, he/she texted back saying that he/she had no openings for two weeks. If they can't even do a booking I do not want to trust them with my appliances, I just went with someone else. read more

Morris showed on time and asked relevant questions to determine the issue with the leak to my washer. He inspected the washer and ran it to determine where the was the leak. He was able to determine that the washer was in good working order and the leak was a plumbing issue. He even called the home warranty service so I don't have to pay another charge for fix the plumbing issue. Zero stars! Morris.....‍ You fell off the face of the earth. Not responding to my calls or emails. Morris and hood apprentice came to my house to check on my refrigerator; the water dispenser is leaking and Ice dispenser is not working. After fiddling with it, he said he was going to order some parts and call me back within a few days. A week goes by, nothing. I called him, nothing. I emailed him, nothing. This company was dispatched by my home warranty. Apparently they have been ignoring my home warranty company as well. read more

I agree with so many other reviewers that they deserve ZERO stars and it's sad. Sad that they waste everyone's valuable time going totally dark after the initial visit where they collected a service charge. Knowing how difficult it is to get good help, I left 10 messages and 3 emails over a two week period always being respectful and kind hoping to charm or even guilt them into responding since I had both a refrigerator and dryer that needing attention. Don't be fooled if you do roll the dice calling this company and Morris shows up. He is knowledgeable and helpful while there but has poor follow up and you are going to be left with whatever Appliance you have still broken have no ability to get them to respond to your needs. Be prepared to be frustrated waiting for a call. If you read my other reviews you know I use Yelp to celebrate successes and had to think very hard before leaving this negative review but after being ignored for so long and after so many attempts I just couldn't let it go. How hard is it to answer a call or email let alone a dozen? It's only fair to make sure anyone reaching out to East Bay Appliance Repairs has full disclosure. We have a built in microwave oven that went off on thermal overload. The reset button was in the back of the oven requiring it to be removed completely for access. Wish I could give negative stars. Morris is the biggest crook. Very uncourteous. Came to my home through warranty company. Took pictures and went back. Kept calling for follow ups and never responded to calls and texts. After many messages, sent a report to them which made them deny my claim. These kind of companies only work for warranty companies so that they can find reasons to deny your claim. My denial reason was that the glass top cracked due to improper use of the power boil burner. Go figure. Now I need to use learn how to turn on my stove. Please do yourself a favor and don't call these guys - especially Morris, even if they promise to give u a free estimate. read more

I'm writing this review to hopefully speed things up. East Bay Appliance Repair has been very unresponsive to our service request, which we made through Fidelity Home Warranty. They came out initially and diagnosed the problem, but there have been 2 times where they've said they'd call us back "today" - in both cases they took over a week to call us back. The least they could do is communicate! I asked Fidelity Home Warranty to find us another repair company. Unfortunately for us, they only work with East Bay Appliance Repair. I paid for a warranty and they keep referring me to East Bay appliances. This place is horrible, my fridge still have issues and now it's totally making knocking noises and totally turned off. Eastbay Appliances never fix this issues, every time I call it's always "uh I was there to hear the sound" or "okay here's an inverter work order, we just wait till it's available" but they never call or check back. This is going on since January, now it's May. I called back and the lady on the phone to do scheduling was rude, just gave up and said "okay we can send the paperwork back to the warranty company to get another repair company". Okay so after 5 months now you said something like this. Cmon this place customer service is the worst, technician is not good at all and they're just very slow. Watch, their excuse will be "with the supply chain issues, blah blah blah". Now I have no fridge, and stranded. Worst repair business. Don't come here or call here. Avoid at ALL COST!! This company is very unprofessional, I don't recommend them, they will not keep you updated with the orders of parts or when they will come back. Morris the owner, he is a very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful Technician. He should not be allowed to continue business. My Home warranty assigned this Company to repair six of my appliances and they sent this Technician name Morris. When he arrived at my house he asked what appliance needed repair. So I told him I had a problem with my Cook top that had shorted an it was a fire hazard. I also explained that the other rangers were no working properly and that one, the plate underneath the ranger was moving; which it shouldn't. I also told him that the knobs needed to be replaced. Morris at the point cut me off and was quick to say "stuff like that are not covered". I told him I was paying for the Premium coverage which covers knobs. He then asked if I had more repairs and I told him "yes, my Dishwasher" I explained that it was draining out of the air gap and the water was leaking into my cabinet, and he explained that was not normal. So he stuck a hose down the Garbage disposal hose that connects to the Dishwasher and cleaned it, he didn't even test it to see if he had fixed the problem. He also didn't fix the leaking issue. He then asked if that was all. I told him " there is more appliances to be fixed". He was quick to say "oh your the house with the SIX appliances!!!". I told him "yes" and I asked if that was a problem. He said "well, all this appliances didn't break all at once". I then explained that if he didn't want to do the job, he didn't. I then showed him my other appliances and he explained again that some things were not covered and that he knew what Home warranties covered and left. Telling me that he would let me know when the parts arrived; this appointment was on 1/8/21. I didn't get an update at all. I had to call him, was very rude the couple of times that I had to call him, very unprofessional. I spoke with the Dispatcher and come to find out, after I asked for a Supervisor that Morris is the owner of the company. They ended up canceling and now my Home warranty has assigned Sears. What a delay to get my appliances fixed. I was going to report this to the BBB, but I couldn't find their address or locate them through the BBB. read more
