Despite it being late in the day, they squeezed us in! We have trusted Dr. Bloomberg with our cat's care for the past eight years, ever since he was a kitten. Everyone was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. They kept us informed throughout the surgery and provided excellent post-operative care and instructions. When my dog Mousse suddenly lost the use of his back legs, I was terrified, overwhelmed, and running out of time. I had called and visited multiple hospitals during one of the most stressful weeks of my life, and Neuro Vet was the place that finally treated both my dog and me with real care. From the moment we arrived, the difference was night and day. Dr. Erik took the time to actually explain everything, Mousse's diagnosis, his options, the honest prognosis, and what each path realistically looked like. He never rushed me, never talked down to me, and never made me feel like just another bill. He was compassionate, straightforward, and clearly deeply skilled at what he does. When he told me he wanted to help me and Mousse, I believed him, and he followed through. Mousse was diagnosed with a herniated disc and underwent spinal surgery. Dr. Erik and his team took incredible care of him, kept him comfortable, and walked me through every step of his recovery so I felt confident bringing him home. The discharge instructions were thorough with nurse Janice, the follow-up plan was clear, and I was told I could reach out any time with questions, and I genuinely feel like I can. In a week where I encountered coldness and carelessness elsewhere, Neuro Vet stood out as a place that actually cares about animals and the people who love them. Dr. Erik gave Mousse a real chance to walk again, and gave me hope when I had almost none left. 6 hour drive was absolutely worth it. Our 5 year old dog suddenly stopped being able to stand one day. It was a Sunday morning and we…read morerushed her to the emergency vet in Santa Rosa. After consulting with the ER vet, she suspected a slipped disc and said if this was her dog, she'd get them straight to a neurologist. Within 45 minutes of arriving at the ER, we were on our way to Nuero Vet in Pleasant Hill. The Santa Rosa vet had called their office during her exam and they were able to see us right away. We'd never dealt with anything like this before, so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Dr. Johnson reviewed her gait and back, suspecting a slipped disc. He recommended her staying overnight at the hospital on some pain meds and getting a MRI the next day, with the prognosis most likely being a need for surgery. It was devastating news to hear, but anything for our baby. Dr. Johnson walked us through the process and I really felt through him that he saw our sweet girl as a family member to us, not "just a pet". Every part of the conversation was made through that lens, helping me feel more at ease with the blow we had been dealt. I was in a place of shock, worry, and anxiety with the suddenness of it all, and he definitely helped me feel at ease as he walked me through the processes and options lying before us. The next day, I got a call from Dr. Johnson that it was indeed a slipped disc and she'd need to head straight into surgery to get the disc removed. He was surprised out how well she was moving around considering the severity of what was showing in her imaging. He called her "one tough cookie". I waited on pins and needles while our girl was in surgery and was so appreciative of the quick responses the whole time she was there. On a side note, I was also extremely grateful that we have dog insurance on all of our pups! We picked our sweet girl up the day after surgery and took her home for her several week recovery. We are three months out from surgery and she is back to running around, playing, and going on walks. We look forward to getting her back out camping and backpacking next season. Our family is so grateful for the amazing care, communication, and follow up we received from everyone at Nuero Vet. We were treated with empathy, kindness, promptness, and professionalism at every step of the process. It was an extremely vulnerable and scary situation for us and their team helped us navigate it in the best way possible.

She lives with my parents who are retired and aren't the best at brushing, especially those back teeth. Mia gets her dental cleanings with Dr Venkhat, and her teeth are porcelain after! She tolerates the anesthesia well, and they also kindly trim her nails and give her vaccines while she's asleep, so we can minimize vet visits. Dr Venkhat also recently treated Mia's UTI. His practice partner, Dr Meredith, who is super sharp and kind, updated me on Mia's results and steps moving forward. Mia has recovered well from her UTI. I have MetLife pet insurance, and Dr Venkhat's office has always provided me prompt copies of the documents I need to submit for insurance reimbursement. They aren't in network directly with any outside pet insurance, but they do have some of their own plans, including a wellness plan that looks like it actually is a better deal than MetLife's. (I stick with MetLife because I get it through my work benefits). The office staff always coddles and spoils my fur baby, and Dr Venkhat's expert skills as a vet make me reassured that Mia is in good hands when she's not feeling well! Mia has had everything from gum disease, hot spots, allergies, ear infections, and sprains. Dr Venkhat has fixed them all promptly and with price transparency!
