this is one if not the worst buffets i have ever eaten at i just feel the food poisoning bruing in my stomach i could not even finish my first plate without getting up and just simply leaving, the bathroom is disgusting there was nasty LED lights in it with loud music i do not recommend ANYONE going here for ANYTHING

The restaurant is affordable and clean. However there is up charges for the cook to prepare a custom fresh fish it's only $2 extra and they ask you to tip the chef too. The salmon was good and Fresh however not enough flavor it was bland. I didn't try the crawfish but I'm sure that should have been straight. I mean how can they mess up crawfish. The fried biscuits good cheese puff good. The jello was good. Egg roll good. The grapes wasn't seedless and wasn't horrible but not sweet. pineapple dry not sweet a number of things wasn't on point the rice was watery I have never. I just experienced an after taste in Many options . I didn't like a number of things such ass the stuffed crab horrible. The fried fish wasn't horrible but it had after taste the chicken on the stick had bad after taste many items wasn't on point even cake had weird after taste I was shocked maybe not fresh I was thinking it Has to be some explanation I know I'm not tripping . Waitress was nice. Gave refills and host placed me at requested seating which was by the outlet to charge my phone. They had me pay after I ate which was good It showed respect. Peppermints Was to the front and fortune cookie given as well. I don't know if they had icecream i Wanted some. Couldn't try everything. The restaurant is affordable as well but the food quality, They got 2 points off for the quality because it was most of the food wasn't so good.

Our plates on the table no one cleared!

We've previously enjoyed doing the best of both worlds pairing, but since they've added Tom Yum, we now do the pot split 3 ways. The self-serve buffet always has fresh veggies and seafood choices. Our favorites include the spinach, bok choy, shrimp, clams, sweet potato, corn, and pumpkin. I think they've done away with the lobster balls which used to be my favorite, but I've since switched to dumplings which are tasty. I love the items from the hot bar- the orange chicken is yummy. The service here is always attentive and friendly. Hot Pot here always hits.

Service was fast, and what seemed like a seemingly small building was actually bustling. We ordered the Best of Both Worlds option and requested the Spicy Bone Marrow along with the Tomato Broth; they complement each other quite well, with the Spicy Bone Marrow being our personal favorite. It is definitely spicy, but nothing that I couldn't handle. The Tomato Broth was delicious as well, but added a nice sweetness to our meal. We chose the Classic All-You-Can-Eat lunch deal, and ordered a plate of the Natural Prime-Aged Lamb, the Hand Sliced Beef Short Plate, the Marinated Garlic Beef, and the Pork Belly; I can't say I'm a huge fan of how they divided the meat selections, however, since I could get premium meat elsewhere without being limited. But overall, the meat was of decent quality, and the buffet offered various options. Compared to other hot pot places, they even had a section where you could serve yourself egg rolls, white rice/fried rice, and stir-fried noodles, though I can't speak to the quality... very much buffet-quality if you catch my drift, but still lovely nonetheless. Similarly, you can fetch your own iced drinks and dessert too. I do wish Happy Lamb's sauce station had special pre-made flavors or instructions for making them, much like Shabu Zone or Haidilao; sometimes I don't trust myself to freestyle my own sauce. There are some cross-contamination concerns as well, since there'd be about 4 tongs at foot/pants level, but at least 9 food options (e.g., noodles, dumplings, veggies) to choose from. Not sure if other people share the same sentiment, but I guess they all get boiled in the end anyway. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in Downtown Houston! But I wouldn't call Happy Lamb my go-to spot.

This was my first time at this specific location and it is relatively closer, plus it's conveniently in Bellaire where I can go to other establishments and groceries in the area. Since they had their 20th anniversary promotion and it being on a weekend, I had anticipated a wait time before arriving. The wait wasn't too bad, we were seated in 35 minutes. This location is bigger than the Westheimer location and have more selection. Our table got the Thai Tomyum broth and it was flavorful. It's been a while since I've been to Happy Lamb, I was pleasantly surprised to see fountain drinks being offered for free. My first time seeing this at an AYCE. Their hot food selection was decent, I particularly liked their chicken. I usually don't think too highly of the hot foods at hot pot places, but decided to give it a try since we were ran out of meat and no one came to check in on us. This leads me to the issue we had. We were seated right in front of the podium where the host stands and where a long line is formed. So there were people standing in front of our table the entire time. This makes it awkward while eating and when we have to get up to grab food. The AC was on full blast so it was cold. Even while eating with the whole pot boiling, we were still cold. All of the waiters were staffed inside, where the rest of the tables were. So it was the host seating us and getting our order. He was busy with checking in the line of people so we don't blame him for not being able to check in on our table. But perhaps management can consider to not have tables in the front and have it where the rest of tables are OR have some waiters staffed to handle the the tables outside. After realizing no one was coming to refill our meat, we had to flag someone down. But even despite the awkward seating arrangement and slow service, this location still left a better impression on me than their Westheimer location.

I enjoyed the BBQ Pork Buns too. For entrées I had the Salt Pepper Fish Slices while my friend went with the Ingenious Fried Beef. The Fish Slices were very seasoned and flavorful, but a bit dry. The batter was good and I really enjoyed the peppers and onions that accompanied the dish. I think a dipping sauce would have helped. My friend enjoyed the Fried Beef. 5 Stars - Authentic Szechuan that absolutely nails the classics…read more During our short trip to Houston, as a custom, we were determined to find real Szechuan food, and luckily we found Hu's Kitchen. The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular. The kids completely devoured it on their own, but I managed to steal a bite, and it instantly brought back childhood memories of exactly how this dish is supposed to taste. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles, which were great and rounded out the meal perfectly. I loved all of the dishes we tried. Should we ever find ourselves in Houston again, we will absolutely be revisiting this hidden gem.

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

They worked as a smooth team incase the one who was helping you was busy and you needed something sorted. I would give 10 if it was possible. Food on the other hand, for a vegetarian- only the Karma bowl for an entree. Its like you choose your grains, ur veges, and sauce and they will put it all together over heat and give you. Mine was ok and I probably could have added a lot of veges as my bowl was only 1/2 full. It is one price for one bowl, irrespective of how much of what you add. Taste wise, it was ok as I had no idea how much of sauce would go into it or the spice level. The second order was vegetable roll. We asked for a little customized version of excluding mushrooms. They brought it with 'kanpyo' instead and forgot the carrots First of all kanpyo looks like mushroom and didn't have the faintest idea that they were very different things , secondly carrots were no where to be seen. When called to enquire, they apologized and took back the order without a minute's hesitation and made a fresh batch made with no mushroom no kanpyo and carrots included. Appreciated that very much. Food wise summery, the bowl or the roll. I definitely preferred the roll and when soaked in sriracha, it exploded in my mouth with flavors. The first one just fell into sriracha by mistake and got drenched, after I tasted that I drowned the next ones in myself...... The place is maintained spotless and the bar was filled to capacity at 5 pm. They do have TV with closed captions . Very limited vegetarian options but you won't go hungry.
