Because of my original comment (below), Straubs employee/owner Trish went out of her way to tell me…read morehow she felt about my comment. In the first message she told me to get a life with a subject title "Asshole". Since I didn't see and respond to that one, she sent me a second message simply reminding me that I am an asshole. Yelp gives individuals the opportunity to voice their opinions and review places based on how they honestly feel about the specific establishment. That is what I did for Straubs. Except now I am getting high school hate messages from a grown woman. Completely unprofessional. Original message I wish I didn't have to give them any stars, but unfortunately yelp won't let me. They kept charging my card after my year membership was over and gave me no notification. They have tricky rules on how to get out of a membership, and the owners are very rude. I have talked to numerous people, and everyone of them have had this problem. It is not worth it. Find a gym with better service, nicer equipment, and less financial burden.

Update: Like other former members, I was contacted on Yelp by Trish Straub -- the owner of Straub…read moreFitness -- shortly after I posted my review of her "gym" and the shady and unethical practices by which they try to extort money out of their former members once they've ceased their membership. First she left me a message calling me an "Asshole." I didn't respond, so three weeks later she followed up with a second message calling me an "Asshole" several more times, in addition to calling me "fat and lazy." Really? Here is her unedited message to me (I am also posting screenshots): "Does tellin-it s stand for tellin shit? I'm not afraid to use my name...Trish Straub. Get your facts straight before you post things you know nothing about. We don't have any equipment from the 70's or 80's with the exception of the strength equipment you used with Paul that members would greatly miss if we ever replaced it. It's not our fault that you did not listen to the membership director who sold you your membership nor did you read the contract that states the terms and conditions of a membership at Straub's Fitness. Sounds like you're blaming us for your lack of use...probably fat and lazy. Get a life asshole." ------------------- Original Review: ------------------- Was unfortunately a member of this "club" for roughly a year until I had to move out of the area. It's in a section of a warehouse and contains a handful of dated cardiovascular machines and even older free weight and cable machines. It's kind of a hodgepodge of equipment from the 70s, 80s and early 90s. You also have to physically leave the gym to go to bathroom near the tennis courts. I never really saw a maintenance or sanitation worker, but hey, I didn't care because I knew my situation was temporary. But then when I had to leave town and cancel my membership, the owner refused to stop charging my credit card, so I canceled it. They then stuck creditors on me. Real classy. Too bad none of the money they squeeze out of people gets reinvested in the place. I would not recommend this place. They used to have two other locations but those went belly up (probably because they treated their customers the same way at those "Clubs")

Awesome cafe / need more staff in other areas…read more We had a great time at Frozen Ropes this weekend! One of the biggest highlights for us was the café. The café manager was absolutely outstanding. They were incredibly knowledgeable about food ingredients, which was so important for us since my son has multiple allergies. It was a huge relief to talk to someone who understood and took it seriously. The rest of the café staff was also amazing super friendly and accommodating. We went up on the ledge and loved the beautiful view. The atmosphere was friendly and overall very welcoming. There were a couple areas that could use improvement. First, staffing. Aside from the café workers, we didn't see many other employees around. We had to keep asking the café team questions because they were the only ones we could find. When we arrived, we were greeted by someone at the front desk, which was great, but later when we had more questions, no one was there. More visible staff around the facility would make a big difference. Also, the bathrooms weren't in the best shape definitely something that could be improved. Despite those issues, we had a really enjoyable experience. Big thanks again to the café team for going above and beyond! We'll definitely be back to watch my nephew!!

We were a little surprised when we read the rules about no outside food or drink (including players), but they had plenty of choices and prices were fairly reasonable. In addition to that, parents have to pay to get in to watch their kids play, but parking is free so okay. The seating is terrible and extremely dangerous. They have short fences and tiny bleachers right next to them. My younger child was looking down drinking when a foul ball came over, bounced and hit him in the head causing him to get a concussion. My child was the only one hit while we were there, but there were ALOT of close calls. Story time... Early in our first game the field ump failed to make a call because she "wasn't paying attention" and she told the other ump to make the call. Our very calm coach quietly said something about it and next thing we know she flails her arms and tells the coach to get the **** off her field and proceeds to scream profanities at him (in front of all these young kids). A few parents speak out to contest her choice of words and remind her she's on the field with young children. She ejected the coach, he very quietly and calmly walked away as she continued to yell. The game continued. The female ump started making extremely obvious bad calls, then she would turn and smile toward us and at one point she flipped us the bird as she walked away (which I just happened to catch on video). She was taking her anger out on the kids, it was like nothing I have ever seen. A couple parents went in to speak with the director regarding her outburst and poor behavior. Director told us that it was unacceptable and he would take care of it. We waited and waited, nothing ever happened. It appeared at some point she may have received a text message and for the last innings she was less animated and wasn't making such crazy terrible calls. When our next game started we somehow got issued the same field ump and she told the coach he was still suspended because he didn't sit out an "entire game" so he would have to sit out for this one as well. Parents and coaches were very respectful and quiet about it, but some parents went to speak with the Director and told him either she needs to come out or they need to let our coach back in, we would have been happy with them letting the kids have their coach. They did not let our coach back in, but next inning they actually had the ump leave and asked parents to please not say anything to her as she goes, which they respectfully agreed and there was not one word spoken or noise made as she left the field. Our other team had issues as well, however I did not see those first hand so will not speak about them. Bottom line, we pulled our teams out of the rest of the tournament. My family will personally never step foot in that place again. I have never encountered a more unprofessional and disrespectful ump and the way things were handled were awful. If I could issue zero stars I would.
